My first wax experience here was not good. The technician was not at all empathetic to the pain I…read morewas experiencing and she basically rushed through my first ever Brazilian wax. I returned two days later to wax my legs and get a clean up of the hair left by the first tech. I was fortunate to get Daeja who was thorough, and she touched each area as soon as it was waxed, which helped to soothe the immediate pain. I quickly changed my next appointment from the first tech to Daeja. If you don't like walking barefoot on sketchy floors, I suggest bringing a pair of slippers when getting a leg wax. Also, I bought several of the recommended products and broke out so severely, I had to see a doctor who prescribed anti inflammatory meds. Check the ingredients before buying the products or do a patch test to ensure it agrees with your skin type. I look forward to my next wax with Daeja because I know she will be thorough and she is customer-friendly. I'm rating my second experience in this survey, not my first visit. If I rated my first visit with the other tech, I would have to rate it one star.

Now that I moved a few subway stops away, it takes me a bit longer to get to this location but it's still closer than Grand Central and plus with the Wax Pass offer, you get an extra free wax by going to this location for all of your waxes. I always sign up for the wax pass offer when it's available because you get 2-3 waxes free and it's an overall discount on the service as well. I've tried other wax places outside of EWC and prefer EWC. The quality and consistency is the best. Let me know if you'd like a referral! :o)

Stopped by while in LIC for a quick pedicure. The staff was kind and quick to seat us. The space is…read morehuge, wasn't too busy and it looked very clean. The pedicure was great, the seats aren't adjustable but still pretty comfy. They did a good job.

just sharing my personal experience here -- so definitely take it with a grain of salt! this review…read moreis based on a regular manicure and gel polish removal. i originally went in just wanting to remove my gel polish and take care of my cuticles -- no new polish. but since the cost seemed to be about the same as (or maybe just slightly less than) a regular manicure, i figured i might as well go for it. honestly, i debated for a while whether to wait it out and go to my usual salon, but my nails had gotten way too long. the actual appointment was really nice. my technician was sweet and attentive. i am quite indecisive when it comes to picking a color, but she was very patient with me -- which i truly appreciated! that said, just a few hours after i left, i noticed the polish on one of my nails had already started chipping -- and then another one did too. i had spent a good 30 minutes drying them, and even the okay to go from (i believe) the owner. if you zoom in on the photo, you will also see air bubbles on a few nails. (LOOL i removed the background so i do not expose my messy kitchen). i am certain the technician is skilled and amazing at her job, so it could just be how my nails are -- or there could be a bunch of other reasons why this happened. my lesson of the day is to always trust the reviews on yelp!

Absolutely furious. Have been here before for brow and upper lip threading with no issues. One of…read morethe employees insisted that she do both threading and waxing. After the service, I noticed that there were huge chunks of skin ripped out below my eyebrow and at my upper lip. She told me it was normal for waxing and blamed it on my pimple? I've never had this happen before. I also noticed they double dip for the wax. I received no apologies, absolutely nothing. Never coming here again and would never recommend this place to anyone. ** Update: Went back and the manager, Ava, came in to apologize and offered a full refund. I appreciate her sincerity and she took full accountability for her employee's actions. The woman who did my service apologized but continued to make excuses as to why it happened and blamed it on the weather (?). She obviously didn't take accountability, but I didn't want to waste anymore time arguing with her. **

NEVER GOING BACK / DO NOT RECOMMEND…read more I got a pedicure (booked through ClassPass). Pedicure itself was fine but when it came to tipping at the end, I wanted to tip through card / Apple Pay. However they insisted on cash or Venmo. I don't carry cash and my phone was dead (so no access to Venmo). HOWEVER they forced me to charge my phone with the salon charger so they can receive tip through Venmo. This was humiliating and not to mention entitled of the salon to assume that they earned a tip. They acted this way even though there were other customers in the salon watching all of this happen. After charging my phone for a min, they admitted that they can accept tip through card. The pedicure itself was fine but I am never going back here for the horrible customer service. Up until this point, the service was great and I was planning on making Kawaii Salon my main spot for manis and pedis. Ended up tipping $10 on $60 pedi.
