I chose this practice because I have excellent insurance and expected a professional, thorough experience. Unfortunately, the office is extremely disorganized and indifferent to patient concerns. The doctor was abrupt and unkind. She told me I needed to follow up with another eye doctor for a more thorough exam but never provided a referral. I was also told I need reading glasses, yet no prescription strength was given--leaving me with no clear guidance on next steps. I ordered a six-month supply of contacts that only lasted three months. When I came in to address this, the staff blamed me instead of investigating the issue, suggesting I use a "better" contact solution--even though I use Biotrue, which is one of the top solutions on the market. The contacts consistently dry out, and no one took responsibility or showed concern. To make matters worse, customer service was rude and dismissive. I asked if someone can help me find oversized glasses like pick them out for me and it was met with laziness. The rep told me I'd have to go thru the glasses myself. Really? What happened to the days of reps helping you pick out glasses like years ago. Overall, there was a clear lack of accountability, care, and professionalism throughout my experience. Two thumbs down. Waited 90 minutes for the eye exam and when I asked why there was such a long wait they told me it was because it was a telehealth day which doesn't make any sense to me. They over booked and there isn't even a physical doctor present. I am confused as to how telling me I should call and make my appointment directly will change anything. Getting the new lens in the "sales" cycle was great. Technician was knowledgeable. Picking up the glasses is unacceptable. 15 minutes. No one took my name. Have to rely on customer service rep who is multi tasking to keep you in mind that you need assistance at the eyewear fitting table. Now it's 20 minutes. No one acknowledges me yet sitting at the table. And still no glasses that I already paid for! Pick up should be 5-10 minutes! Finally someone comes to assist and asks if I checked in at customer service table . Customer Service young lady said she didn't need to take my name! Just had my 2021 annual eye exam at Visionworks in Nanuet with Dr. Erica Blehl. Another great thorough exam where Dr. Blehl spent a considerable amount of time patiently and clearly explaining all my relevant vision-related issues and needs. Although I live in Manhattan, it's definitely worth the trip to see Dr. Blehl. She's a fantastic asset to Visionworks. The store was also very busy and crowded during my appointment, likely due in part to it being closed for a few weeks recently because of significant flooding due to storm. The staff nevertheless still maintained all Covid precautions, and, as always, were efficient, friendly, and accommodating. read more

My daughter recently had her eye exam here and got contacts for the first time. We did order a six month supply of the monthly toric (for astigmatism) contact lenses. The place was very well run and everything went smoothly. Dr Blehl was great, patient and very knowledgeable. The associates at the front were also very patient and friendly. So unprofessional , I made an appointment and confirmed it online 3 times . Today I left work early and drove 2 hrs to find a sign on the door saying they are closed due to flooding & to call a Yonkers location . No phone call , no email , no cancellation . I called the Yonkers location which said their systems are not connected, they are simply providing pick up services for glasses . I understand that we were all affected by a storm but it's been 2 weeks now, a sign on a door without some type of notice is extremely unprofessional. First my appointment was at 1140 , didn't see the doctor till 1:40 , 3 HOURS WAITING FOR DOCTOR ERICA . I hadn't been in the eye doctor in over a year and needed my eyes checked and new prescription. Upon seeing Dr. Erica , I have bad astigmatism, which causes me to have trouble wit lights & blinding sunlight ( if I run a red light , or stop sign it's her fault. ) ; She profiled me , and made her decision before even hearing me out . I asked about a tint exempt and she proceeded to speak to me like I was a drug addict pretending to need a fix. and continued to say "if that's the only reason you are here you can leave" instead of asking why I made the request in the first place. Why would I sit for 3 hours just for this doctor to sign a paper? I felt belittled by her & ashamed I even asked. The rest of the appointment was ok but awkward. It wasn't the fact she said no she won't sign it , it was the arguing with me & not hearing me out. Never having purchased prescription eyeglasses before, I started calling around the Rockland County area to find a place which accepted the limited vision benefits I have with my health insurance. Everyone I spoke to said "no", some emphatically, some even bordered on rude... until I tried Visionworks. The person on the phone was knowledgeable and friendly, and told me to come right in. When I entered, a man who appeared to be the manager offered to help me right away and explained which frames would be covered. (I already had an exam done at another eye doctor and prescription in hand). While I browsed the frame selection, another employee took my info and looked up my insurance coverage. I chose a pair of stylish frames, sat briefly with the second person who explained the process and completed the paperwork, and was on my way home in under 1/2 hour. The store was nicely laid out. Everyone was professional, pleasant, and knew exactly what they were doing! I will pick up my new glasses next week. Fantastic service! read more

It is ridiculous that you cannot call and speak to somebody you are always prompted to go to the automated service and when you want to speak to somebody you have to wait on the phone for the rest of your life. I thought this particular place was in the Palisades Mall and when I found out it wasn't and I had to drive across the street I got there 20 minutes late I just moved to the area it was my first time. I walked in nobody said anything nobody said hi or even acknowledge that I was alive. So me and my daughter decided to look at some glasses the minute I went over to the glasses then I got attention The man working there told me not to touch anything. No good morning. No will be there with you in a minute. So I said I have an appointment and I just wanted to see what you had to offer and he told me and my daughter to go sit down. Then after about five minutes the eye doctor said something to him he pointed to us said: that's them. Then he walked over to us and said the eye doctor is double booked and because you were late we can't see you today. If I had been able to speak to somebody I could have told them I was going to be late because I was at the wrong place. And I would think they would be more gracious and at least offer me a later appointment or asked me to hold on for a minute. No he basically said there's no appointment you have to leave. This place is amazing! My daughter needed her yearly eye check up and thank goodness I found this place via yelp (Go Yelpers!!). So happy with their frame collection, front desk, and the doctor. The nicest people work there. Also, extremely reasonable pricing, they worked with my insurance. Horrible place . 1. They gave me glasses that were 4xs stronger than my real eyesight and I didn't find that out until I went to a recent different Davis vision. 2. They told me I couldn't get contacts because my insurance was expired ( which is wasn't) . So I went some time thinking I couldn't get contacts . I went to this different Davis vision and I was told I was a candidate for contacts & that my insurance would cover a year supply 3. Workers are in a horrible mood like half the time 4. My glasses stretched out and they are suppose to fix it for free but they wanted to charge me $20. read more

I was blown away by my experience with Dr. Erica Blehl who examined my eyes for contacts and glasses. She made sure the trial pair of contacts were the correct vision. I wore them for about ten minutes and then was re examined. It was slightly off, but after examination she made sure to give me the correct perscription before i left. In previous visits at other offices, i was given the trial contacts without them checking to see if it was the correct vision for me. Today I had the pleasure of experiencing true professionalism in the midst of all the Covid 19. I went into Davis Visionworks ...I was meet at the door by Brandon, who was very friendly and welcoming, the staff were dressed in a mask,gloves and a gown, he took my tempted showed me to a seat. I waited as Renee assisted another customer. When she finished, SHE CHANGED HER GLOVES, (what a novel idea, no cross contamination) please tell the fast food places this...before assisting me. My husband had a mishap with his eyeglasses at the job in Blauvelt. One lens popped out and he had a 60 mile drive home. As a member of Davis Vision eyeglass plan, he decided to take a chance and stop in on his lunch break to see if a quick repair could be made. A representative in a dark suit of Asian background not only fixed the glasses, he did it quickly and did not charge a fee. Talk about a great experience. All of this before a three day weekend! I was there las Monday 04/09/18 at 12:45 and I have to say how great they are. there si a guy at the front desk unfortunately don't remember his name, he gave me an excellent service he was patient, and so understanding. I had to see Dr. Blehl she did a perfect job picking up the lenses for my condition, she took her time and really made sure I was going to be comfortable and able to see better with them, I am more than happy it was the first time I did an eye exam never wore glasses before and I thought it was going to be a problem to get used to them she said they might give me a headache the first days, which never happened I guess because she just pick the perfect lense I am always going to them I live 40 minutes from that location but I don't care I'm still going there. I need progressives and decided to shop around. Their prices are OK for the generic progressive lenses, although for the branded lenses their prices are way more than their competitors charge. I ended up not buying also because you need to wait up to 2 weeks for your glasses to be ready. Frame selection is very basic and cheap. read more

Wow, I had to write a second review for Visionworks in West Nyack, NY. I was due for a new pair of glasses and went to Visionworks with my boyfriend. It was approaching the end of the work day, and we were in a hurry, and the staff was so wonderful. Maria helped us choose glasses that were perfect for our face shapes, and did not try to hard sell us on the most expensive options. It was, honestly, such a cool experience. Renee was also there as we were leaving, and our interaction with her was very positive. When we went to pick up our glasses the following week, Renee assisted us, and Maria actually remembered us and came over! Now, if you have been to other opticians, you know that you can return again and again and you will never be recognized and greeted like this! I was so impressed, but that's not the end of the story. Since I primarily wear my contacts, I did not discover until today that I had a little problem with my new lenses. I called Visionworks from AZ, where I am on vacation, to let them know, but Maria was off today. I left my phone number, and believe it or not, she called me back, even though it was her day off!!!!!!!! I was flabbergasted......she discussed my issue and told me to drop by as soon as I returned and she'd help me out. I have NEVER received service like this in my life.
