Today, I was asked for a referral which was given to them 6 years ago. When I explained that, I was told I need a new referral on the spot or I needed to reschedule. When I asked for more information about what changed and why this was not an issue for the past 6 years that my son has been a patient, I was told that the receptionist and the supervisor have no time to speak with me.

The office is clean and attractive and the equipment updated many times over the years. But most importantly, Dr. Mann is an extremely knowledgeable, thorough and caring professional. Her examinations are never rushed and if I ever have the slightest problem or concern, she schedules me immediately. In addition, the office offers an extensive eyeglass frame selection. Even after moving to another state, I continue to travel at least once a year to see Dr. Mann and have her maintain my optical needs. Unfortunately, the office is extremely disorganized and indifferent to patient concerns. The doctor was abrupt and unkind. She told me I needed to follow up with another eye doctor for a more thorough exam but never provided a referral. I was also told I need reading glasses, yet no prescription strength was given--leaving me with no clear guidance on next steps. I ordered a six-month supply of contacts that only lasted three months. When I came in to address this, the staff blamed me instead of investigating the issue, suggesting I use a "better" contact solution--even though I use Biotrue, which is one of the top solutions on the market. The contacts consistently dry out, and no one took responsibility or showed concern. To make matters worse, customer service was rude and dismissive. I asked if someone can help me find oversized glasses like pick them out for me and it was met with laziness. The rep told me I'd have to go thru the glasses myself. Really? What happened to the days of reps helping you pick out glasses like years ago. Overall, there was a clear lack of accountability, care, and professionalism throughout my experience. Two thumbs down. From the…read morefirst appointment to the last appointment I was always greeted with a smile and professionalism that I received from Denise and Leah in the front office. As a patient, you know the first contact with office personnel is the most important because it sets the tone for how you'll feel from the beginning to the end of that appointment. From the first appointment in May, where I needed a full retina attachment to the last follow up in September, I felt totally at ease during the office visit. This always started with Denise and Leah and I can't thank them enough for the support they gave me and my family. In fact, believe it or not, I love that they collected the $15 up front for the visit. If I needed to change an appointment they always found a way to get me in that day. If you're considering a retina practice, you will feel comfortable starting with Denise and Leah. At this time I want to thank them both for helping me out and making me feel comfortable during this ordeal. The doctors are lucky to have these two employees making the first impression on the patient. Dr. Woodward- During these trying times for me, the comfort and knowledge that you've given me through this entire ordeal was something I will never forget. Just having the opportunity to speak with you when I had strange issues happening in my eye. I always felt comfortable that I could reach you as you were so nice to give me your cell phone number. You can't imagine how important that was for me to reach you during this extreme time of my stress. In this office procedure you see the tech person prior to seeing the doctor and when you enter the doctors office there is a tech person sitting there to wait for the doctor to come in and go through the examination. My experience with Sarah and Lulit has been fabulous, who are Dr. Woodward's assistants. As you are all aware in medical practice today you sometimes have to wait a certain amount of time before the doctor comes in to examine you, so this gives you time to talk to his assistant. In this case Sarah and Lulit have been very professional, have answered any preliminary questions I had, and helped pass the time before the doctor comes in to examine you. They both are very professional, make you feel comfortable and if you have any questions they answer them to the best of their knowledge. If you come to this practice and happen to get Sarah or Lulit you'll have a very good experience. Once again, the entire personnel staff that I was in contact with has been one of the best experiences I've had with medical issues in my life. Dr. Woodward is lucky to have them as his assistants and if you interact with them as a patient you will be very happy in the contact. My first experience with Donna and David was my first appointment after surgery for retina detachment. I had been to many ophthalmology practices and have met tech assistants and having David and Donna do my initial exam before I see the doctor has been the best experience I've ever had in an ophthalmology practice. Not only are they professional in their work, but the comfort that they give the patient that has gone through this ordeal is unbelievable. On a scale of 10 I give them both a 20++. They give you the time to ask any questions you may have. They answer your questions about the tests they perform on you. Most importantly, they provide the comfort of knowing that your eye or eyes have improved with every visit. This is very reassuring before you see the doctor. I do feel that recommending this practice is a no brainer. You will get the best care from beginning to end.
