Seems they are very focused on trying to upsell you things like lenses with bells and whistles you don't need, but directly after that sale is made is when their interest in serving the customer ends. Scheduling is not smooth but I can overlook that. The bigger issue comes later. They try to prescribe you the LensCrafter brand of contacts, but it takes many weeks to get them. They can not call and get an update on when they will ship or what the delay is. Their best answer is "When they get here they get here". Recently, we ordered 3 pairs of frames for all of our family members. We were told a week to 10 days to get them. I called and was told they are in "finishing" status with the lab but they have no way to reach the lab or expedite the order. It was very frustrating to deal with after you made the purchase and paid. read more

2 stars for past eyewear. For the past several years, I've purchased my progressive lenses with frames from the location in the Palisades mall. There has always been a 7-14 day wait time, which was no big deal but now things have changed for the worst! First of all, the price with coupons and 'deals' is in excess of $700, which is absurd. I purchased my prescription on 12/27/23 for $725, including their discounts. It is a month later and I'm still waiting! They were supposed to be ready on 1/10 then 1/20. Now being told they won't be ready until 1/27. The excuse for all 3 delays is the manufacturer felt the item wasn't properly crafted to their specifications. My biggest frustration is I AM following up with them. No one called me to tell me there would be a delay, just an excuse when I call. This is the LAST time I will patronize Lenscrafters. I'll pay $1000 for good service and no excuses. read more

The sales staff deserve a 5/5, but the 1 star is for the doctors providing eye exams. In 2019, my eye exam was with an older doctor who seemed burdened/inconvenienced by each exam and patient. In 2020, I asked for a different doctor and was scheduled with a younger doctor who was dismissive with any question I asked. This year, in 2021 I will not be returning as LensCrafters has a low standard of Doctors who provide the exams. read more

I visited this location after seeing they were having a 30% off sale. I had just purchased new glasses at Spring Valley Optical and wanted to find a cheaper pair as an extra. I found a nice frame which was reasonably priced at just under $200. I sat with the sales rep to price out the frame and lenses. I selected progressive lenses with transitions and when she told me the total price (after the discount) came to around $750, I nearly fell off the chair. They were almost as expensive as Spring Valley Optical. I told her a definite "no" and then went to Costco and got just about the exact same thing for just around $250. I would never ever walk into another lenscrafters location. read more

Don't go here for contact lenses. The Optometrist gave me a weaker prescription to try out for one eye because they didn't have my prescription in stock....fine. I walked around the mall and it just wasn't working for me. When I went back to let the doctor know my vision was too blurry in my left eye, the front desk person was first off rude, gave me a look like I didn't know what I was talking about and wasn't going to let me see the doctor. I had to raise my voice at her and told her basically," I CAN'T SEE!" Then finally I got to see the doctor who was also pretty rude acting like what an inconvenience it was to do his job. Never going back. They're eye glass department are good and professional. Very accommodating and helpful when it comes to adjusting and fixing glasses. read more

I had an exam 4 months ago, an the prescription was wrong that they gave me, I need progressive lenses. I called the store and they say that I have to come in for a new exam and pay for it also.They don't stand behind their work. All I wanted them to do was give me a a progressive script THEY REFUSED This place is a scam I had switched from my local eyeglass store in Pearl River. abysmal customer service. offers a 620 appt time online so i take it. this is a 30 minute drive for me. as I'm on the freeway i get a call asking if i could come in at 610 because 620 is cutting it too short to closing. so i explain to Sparky I'm en route and can't really confirm that I'll be there earlier than the scheduled time. he then said that if I'm one minute past they won't be able to do the appt as it will interfere with the doctor's other duties. seriously??? don't offer the time of it's too inconvenient for you to keep. i called back and said to cancel because i was too pissed to continue the drive to their location. read more

Man I got so scare when they shot that air into my eye. But they told me it's not to be feared. My eyes are fine. They sold me some transitions and few colored contacts. The doctors were very cool and really connect with people with eyeball issue. If you need a good eye doc please support the LensCrafters. read more

Just a horrible experience!!!! The last pair of glasses I had made there where off so the eye doctor said I will check them to make sure the transition is positioned correctly. When we go to pick up the glasses the particular Dr wasn't there but the doctor that was there did everything short of refusing not to check them after waiting over an hour we ask Wallace who just less then a week before checked my old pair and told me there were off refused to check the new pair again nothing but refusal to make sure they were correct. Any level of caring was non existent. Then during this over an hour ordeal that should have been 5 minutes and they weren't particularly crowded, got even worse there was some debris in the grooves that hold the lenses on both sides no big deal they could take out the lenses and clean them and put them back in. Simple right? Well Wallace grudgingly said he would correct the problem of the debris and after removing the lenses and cleaning the debris you could see he was having trouble getting the lenses back in. He never asks anyone for help after a few minutes he gives them back with what seems to be the lenses back in. This morning upon cleaning my glasses one lens pops out and upon looking at the other lens after I put on the old pair you can see that the other lens is not seated correctly. I have 20/400 vision with extreme astigmatisms and a millimeter off is a problem with my eyes hence why the original doctor wanted the new pair checked. Since my prescription changed and the old lenses where off by over 2 mm it is very difficult for me to tell everything is correct until my eyes adjust. I am blind without my glasses and Wallace seemed to go out of he way not to do the things to make sure everything was correct but with putting the lenses back in wrong exasperated the situation and could have cause a extremely dangerous problem. If I was driving when the lens popped I could have been killed or killed someone else I have 20/400 vision!!! If I could give them negative stars I would. Wallace's name tag said he is a "licensed" optician but him giving my the glasses with the lenses not securely in is like a mechanic who fixes your brake line doesn't get it right but says "yea that's close enough, that should hold" I am not a candidate for laser surgery but I'd take my chance with that before I ever let the palisades lens crafters touch my glasses again. read more

The Optometrist was nice and tested my eyes accordingly but did not give me direct answers to my questions. I felt that she was more focused on steering me to buy more than I needed: pay extra for the extensive eye exam rather than the basic; buy progressive lenses when I only came in for distance glasses and need to wear them less than 15% of the time; and tell me that I have a bit of "dry eye" and asked if I ever noticed it. "No." Then shined the light in my eyes which made them tear. I pointed out their tearing. She told me that over-tearing is also a problem. The info. she gave me was not consistent with my needs nor did she answer my questions. This tells me that: the Optometrist either is not knowledgeable in her industry; does not know how to convey information; is more focused on upselling me items; or all of the above. The Sales Reps in the store tried to get me to buy their glasses (I understand that) but I did not have a comfort level of buying from them knowing they would try to upsell me on items as well and justifying the high prices by telling me it's because glasses are ready in 1 hour. That is a great feature, however, my prescriptive lenses cost over $220 (after a discount and not including the frames nor any features). BJs sold me glasses for under $160 including prescriptive lenses, frames, and non-glare. I'll wait a week for my glasses if it means saving a few hundred dollars and not dealing with sales reps that are focused on commission and not the customers' / patients' needs. read more

I have bought a lot of glasses here and have not had any problems. They can get busy, so try to come in early and during the week. Pricey, but I love the one-hour service. I think I have had to wait only once when they ran out of lenses. The eyeglass insurance is a great buy. I have, accidentally, driven over, stepped on or broken several pairs and got new replacements at a minimum cost. read more

Just had a walk in appointment with Dr. Kahlon. The office staff was pleasant and helpful and got me settled quickly. The doctor was excellent---pleasant, professional and knowledgable. Because of eye health issues, I see an ophthalmologist frequently, but needed a new prescription for contact lenses. She understand my issues immediately and did her best to find lenses that would work. She gave me a week's worth of lenses to try after checking a few different ones in her office. However the girls at the front desk changed only half my address (as a receptionist for a much busier office I 100% feel I can comment on the subject) so my contacts were not mailed to me. When I ordered my contacts I was told I was getting a year supply. Once the contacts finally arrived there was only a 6 month supply. When I called the person on the phone did not care and said no I guess the girl who helped you calculated wrong. They made the mistake and didn't even try to do something to make things right. Although it was a hard situation with my Mother's glasses, Tommy made it so much easier and smoother and offered solutions that made life so much easier on my Mom. While hitting all the kid friendly activities at the Palisades mall, my family and I popped into the beautiful LensCrafters store. We were greeted immediately by two members of the friendly and energetic staff. I inquired about an eye exam and glasses and was wowed to find out this store could have my glasses ready the same day. I scheduled an appointment for my wife and I the following day. When we returned to the store for our appointments, we were greeted by our names. The entire process was enjoyable and easy. The staff was eager to assist and attentive, including the Dr. and staff. My wife and I haven't received customer service of this magnitude in many years. With the influx of online shopping, good customer service is becoming non-existent in this generation of those employed in the service industry. Usually when shopping, you have staff hammering away on facebook or texting etc. on their mobile devices. While the staff at LensCrafters are hammering away on their nifty iPads ... it is all for the customers benefit. They use the iPads to help you in choosing your glasses. They take pictures and have different lenses on the iPad for you to test drive before committing to buy. They are masters of quick, friendly service and possess very cool technology!
