I sent in my total items to be moved. Few funniture pieces, mostly boxes. Was quoted fair amount, estimated an hour, maybe half more. Was told to send deposit and ID get receipt. I did , got it. At the end I was told contract added more cost. I was understand but did not expect to pay an extra near $200. I should have been told.now I understand the movers taking their time, I thinking they're very careful. No, the slower, more time, more money for them . Nothing was done about this misrepresentation. So, heed the warning. As a self- employed person, I know that for every bad business transaction, average 30 people will hear about this. I needed last minute movers AND cleaners. I'm talking about eleventh hour. I reached out the day prior in the afternoon and Torre messaged back quickly. We conversed through the evening about what i needed and he assured me he could complete what I needed. Sent me a estimate that was competitive and a good time frame. Day of, their morning ran long and pushed mine back much longer than anticipated. Torre was great at keeping me updated and was apologetic of the issue. I wasn't upset because it happens. Once they did arrive, everything happened smoothly and efficiently. The "Carlos's'" lol, who were doing the move were great and the clean was better than we could've asked for. After they left I was checking everything over and come to find out they stole a bunch of my stuff. They stole an Xbox, a controller, a headset, and a sound bar, all totaling over $900. Our initial contact with Torre at Davis Moving and Cleaning was a positive one, but turns out it was the old 'bate and switch' with this company. Torre came and assessed our home as we were moving from Bulverde to Fort Worth, downsizing from a 5 bedroom to 3 bedroom home. We received an awesome quote and was told how the day would go, one team to load, one guy to drive, and a team to meet at location. We scheduled over a month in advance, by the way. He seemed very confident and assured that this was going to be a smooth move. Let me tell you, it was not. It all started when the movers were supposed to be at the house by 8am and didn't show up till 10am. Apparently, they were coming from Dallas even though we were told a local teamwork load. So a late start to an already long process. Then they brought too small of a truck and had to wait a couple hours to get an additional truck (which they ended up charging us for instead of bringing an appropriate sized moving van to begin with) Again more wasted time. First truck didn't leave till after 3pm. Second truck arrives which was smaller than first and the movers weren't able to get everything in yet again. One mover actually put our wheel barrel in my husbands truck and was instructing him what to do! Rude and unbelievable. So now we have to return to the home yet again to get items not moved. First truck finally arrived from the 4 hour long drive destination of our new home at 10:09 pm....I am sure my new neighbors appreciated all this noise on a Wednesday night. The last mover finally left home at 2am when then my husband received an invoice for more than DOUBLE the qouted price. Stating for the extra truck, mileage, and labor. To be fair, Torre mentioned possibly needing another truck, but not how that would more than double the price. Mind you, we had some damage that we discovered the next morning on our Sleep Number bed frame, they didn't put our fridge where we wanted it, left a mess in our new home and old home (which my husband had to pick up), left packing supplies and a bunch of trash and water bottles, and Torre tried to charge for items not received such as mattress covers. Trust me, none were used. Two outstanding workers are the only reason for the 2 Star review, otherwise it would be 0-1 star, Jason and A, they worked hard the whole time. Honestly, I am not certain who they had in our home, but at least one person was smoking pot outside and another had a lit cigarette in his mouth as he was carrying furniture in our home! To say I was super disappointed would be an understatement. Just be honest, if it was going to coat more, talk to the customer and give a fair assessment of price. Don't say one thing and do another. That is dishonest and will just lead to the customer feeling deceived. Also, to argue with a customer, you kept up till 3am due to your own poor planning and logistics is absurd. Torre and the Davis Moving team helped my husband and I as a courier service, with items needed for our wedding day. Can't stress enough how important their help was for such a monumental event in our lives - their effective communication, even when a few things due to the event company went awry, was spot on and they helped us navigate a tricky situation with ease. We got hitched at our home in W Austin, off of MoPac, and felt the team treated our property with great respect in the midst of terrible weather (the rainy cold drop in mid-November). I'll be using Davis again when the time calls, but would highly recommend them for moving projects you have. They were also all super nice; we enjoyed having them around to help us! read more

Hired Davis Moving & Cleaning to clean our place for a move out after they handled loading our PODS (they were quite late for that job and it took longer once they arrived because they seemed to lack sufficient experience in loading a moving container). We had a convenient Wednesday confirmed, but the company needed to reschedule. The date they stated they would be available was the next Sunday, so I rescheduled for the day, with the caveat that I was depending on them to do the work that day because we had a walk-through and closing the next day. The agreed upon reschedule time on Sunday came and went-- no show. I was texting through out the morning to see what was going on. I finally got a text that someone would be arriving-- 4 hours after the agreed upon time. Someone did show up-- a friend of the owner who was filling in as a favor. The guy who arrived was just one person to clean a 2500 sq ft house that was not dirty, but needed to be detailed for the walk-through. The guy who showed did not have much in the way of cleaning supplies (mostly rags and vinegar) or a vacuum cleaner with him, and thought he could just go out and buy what he need-- even though it was Easter Sunday and most stores were closed. After he came back from that fruitless search, we mutually decided that this was not going to work out. I had to make a last minute arrangement on Monday morning to get the house cleaned before the closing-- which was also a nightmare. I am not one to leave things to the last minute-- so it was quite infuriating that Davis couldn't make it when originally scheduled and didn't send someone prepared to do the work on the rescheduled date. I lost time and money because of Davis Moving & Cleaning's unprofessionalism. Additionally, I was hopping mad that Torre Davis didn't follow up with an apology. I needed two dressers and an entertainment cabinet moved from an upstairs room to my garage and, a chest of drawers moved from the garage to an upstairs room. This company was available the next day when others weren't and I decided to give them a chance. OMG, what a huge mistake. At the appointed time, two workers showed up. They were both polite and respectful. However, neither had any experience with moving. They didn't know how to operate a handtruck or dolly. One said he had arthritis in his arms and was applying for disability, but he couldn't lift for long periods of time. Neither of the workers had ever worked for this company before or had received any kind of training whatsoever.They damaged my walls and my furniture. When they left, I was exhausted. It took us two hours for which the company charged me $360. The workers told me they were being paid $20 an hour apiece. What a scam. read more

Torre Davis had hired me to do some cleaning at some Starbucks stores in San Angelo. The first cleaning we had no problem receiving payment. He scheduled us to do another cleaning and we showed up only to be turned away because he didn't coordinate with them. They were not prepared or expecting us to come. I charged him a late cancelation fee considering my employee had to work after hours and wait for a response which was never paid. He calls me again to do work at another Starbucks for Hazard cleaning. I do the job and have yet to be paid. I've sent him the invoice numerous times and even spoke with him. The movers showed up 5 HOURS late with absolutely zero communication until 4 hours after they were supposed to arrive. during those 4 hours I attempted to call the business, but it was Sunday so it was closed. They were supposed to arrive 10:30-11:30am, and did not arrive until 3:30pm. I was not notified anyone was on their way until 2pm and couldn't get ahold of anybody. The movers that eventually did show up did a fine job, but unacceptable customer service especially since they make you put a deposit down. We hired Davis moving company for an in town move and had a very good experience. First, the owner/supervisor, Torre, was very patient and informative leading up to the move. I admit that after reading the 12 Yelp reviews, all with one stars, I thought I had made a mistake in hiring them. Fortunately we did not experience any of the issues that others were reporting. The entire crew were very respectfully, humble and courteous. They essentially were college football friends looking to stay in shape during the off season . They of course were very strong and had the young energy to move my piano, massive dinner table, electric bed, washer,/dryer, sectional couch and upstairs to upstairs pool table. There was very little down time and they finish my move in under 8 hours with 4 moving guys and Torre. This cost me a little under 1k which I thought was very reasonable considering the amount of effort it took to move a baby grand piano and a pool table (around the bend of 2 staircases)! Now for the criticism.... I would take off half a star for a few things. The first thing was the moving truck arrived almost an hour late due to a delay in them retrieving the uhaul truck. However, they texted me to let me know what happened and arrived in their personal vehicles on time. Torre and a couple of the guys use the delay in the truck arrival for planning and breaking down the pool table and electric bed (they didn't charge me for the delay). The second thing is, I could tell that they didn't have years of moving experience and needed guidance from Torre and the senior mover. But they are young college football players and had no problems being coached . Lastly, there were a few minor wall and furniture dings. But I've never had a move where this hasn't happened. I probably have made just as many dings myself trying to move things around. Overall, I'm glad I trusted my instincts and hired them. DO NOT HIRE THEM! I repeat do not hire them. I was promised 3 men for 5 hours for 645 base hour. Firstly the men arrived 4 hours late. I had to contact them continuously to make sure they are coming up. After coming to our house, one man went straight to cvs/some store to get a drill bit. He was gone for more than an hour. The other man was not able to lift stuff. He didn't know how to use a dolly and how to place boxes on it. He didn't know how to disassemble the beds. We had to disassemble all the beds ourselves. From the second floor of the house, I saw the person bring one laundry bag, one comforter set and one Ottoman. EACH IN A SEPARATE TRIP. SO THREE TRIPS FOR JUST THIS. SEE HOW EFFICIENT THEY ARE. One time I saw he was taking just a pillow set to load in the trailer. When it was time for unloading, they themselves agreed that the above referenced man has some leg/back spam so he won't be able to work. They placed all the items on my front lawn and then double time rearranging stuff. For each time they wrapped it a couple of times. Their wrapping was so slow. EVEN AFTER THAT WE HAVE SO MANY DAMAGES / SCRATCHES ON OUR FURNITURE. For such a big move they came with just dolly and one drill. It was a five bedroom house and we had already informed them. Still just one set of dolly and drill. So they had to wait for other person to complete the work. SO MUCH TIME WAS WASTED. They had come to our place after doing a 6 hour shift. And they themselves admitted they are tired and exhausted. They didn't have the energy. While unloading we unloaded boxes ourselves to help them and moved them. After 8 hours, no furniture in our house was assembled, lot of things scratched and broken. And when I told one of the movew, he said " Shit happens. Deal with it." They make you sign some contract and try to threaten you with that. Do not get fooled. Save your self the time and energy. Worst moving experience ever!!!! This was not a good experience after the day was done. They advertise professionalism, but professionalism walked right out the door as soon as the truck arrived. The two movers had never worked together before (according to the lead man) and the helper probably had too much energy that was applied haphazardly, with little or no experience. The lead man (Sean) began carrying as many as 4 to 5 boxes (stacked higher than his head) downstairs and carrying a 4-drawer dresser over his shoulder (both upstairs and downstairs) as if to be showing off to the helper how strong he was. This is a 45+ year old man. We had an entertainment center TV cabinet (that holds a 75-inch TV) that I personally assembled when I purchased it 2-years ago. I displayed signs on each end stating, LIFT FROM BOTTOM in very large letters. I explained to the lead man that it could not be lifted from the top. The helper goes over to the cabinet and lifts it from the top and the self-disassembly began. By the time it made the 7-mile trip to the destination it was pretty much a waste with lots of missing parts. Torre came by to collect his money and offered his cabinetmaker friend to take a look at it. But with all the (specialty) parts missing, it is irreparable. The list goes on and I'm not going spell it all out. But, after unpacking we found broken items, damaged furniture, scratches, etc. To the reader, notice the consistency of 1-star ratings. Take heed choose wisely on your selection of movers. You will be taking a huge risk by choosing Davis Moving. read more

It's a shame I can't rate them 0 stars. These people NEVER SHOWED. They were on the uhaul site and my husband agreed to 2 hrs starting at 9am this morning for $89. A few days before he tried to call then to confirm, but nothing. The day of, nobody showed up. After calling multiple times and leaving multiple messaged, some angry and rightfully so, we cancelled the services via moving helpers and had to rely on friends and family to help us scramble and get it done. Absolutely do NOT book with this company! I had them booked and they cancelled on me the DAY OF the move leaving me totally hanging!! They said they needed to push my move back 2 hrs and when I inquired about the extra charges they were charging me for holiday hours they started arguing with me about how I had booked the night before and that they had "limited crew." I had said ok to meeting them later, but they acted like children about me questioning their customer service and how this was going to affect their review. They just hung up on me and would not answer my phone calls. They answered once saying they issued me a refund and hung up promptly. They are completely unprofessional. Worst moving company. I Would not recommend it. Movers were scheduled to be here between 1-2pm (on Sunday 2/21) didn't get here till almost 3:30pm They were late cause "U-Haul messing up their reservation for the truck". Moving crew had no experience whatsoever, it was their first move ever. They made a hole on the apartment door then also scratched the walls at the new house. They broke my desk and also a brand new dresser. Some broken items, boxes were marked where they should go and also marked FRAGILE but the movers didn't care, those boxes were damaged. Movers were putting boxes that were labeled kitchen / living room / garage on the 2nd floor when it clearly stated on the boxes where they belonged. I called the "supervisor Jason" said he would come see the damage at the house The following day (Monday 2/22) never heard back from him. I also called the "owner" Torre Monday 2/22 around noon and notified him of the experience and damages said he would get back to me the same day .. it's now Friday 2/26 and have not heard from any of them. Jason and Torre said they would take care of the damages on the door and walls and the broken furniture... and now they won't return calls nor text messages. Update 3/09/21 : so 2 weeks late still hadn't heard from Jason nor Torre. But I did get a charge for $780. When both Jason not Torre couldn't return my calls nor text messages nor "come see the damages their employees did". Your movers where only here for 4 hours ... That charge should be somewhere between $400-500. Not $780 So in reality it would of been $295 (2hrs) + $150 (2 extra hours) = $445 Plus taxes 38.94 (at 8.75% rate that their receipt shows) = $483.94 Not $780 Attached is a screenshot of what the owner send me on the quote. So since the owner and supervisor won't answer my calls nor text messages nor emails - hopefully they can and will answer here. read more

Damaged furniture, they said they had insurance covering this but they have stopped answering calls.

Would rate them 0 if i could. Booked thru uhaul site they never contacted us so we took steps to get in touch with them. After a few attempts we got in touch with someone who said they had us down for 10am the next day (we had a uhaul from 9 to 1 so this was perfect.) we then texted them and got a confirmation and proceeded to collect our uhaul the next day. 10 am comes, nobody shows up, no call no text, so we scramble and finally get someone at about 1030 who tells us their manager made a mistake due to time zones?! While explaining to them that we had a confirmation they get rude on the phone and disconnect the call. Rude!! Unprofessional and a total waste of time. At first, I was truly impressed by the professionalism of this company. They were quick to load and unload our belongings which was great at first and then I began to go through my belongings. During the loading portion, I heard multiple loud bangs. I didn't think anything of it at first but then realized the damage that was being done to my items. When I got to my new home, I had a broken head board, flat screen TV that could no longer be used and a TV stand that cracked. The movers shared with me that it happened due to going over speed bumps. I'm not buying it. Unfortunately, they didn't take responsibility and I ended up having to purchase/repair various items. This company has 5 out of 5 stars on the U-Haul website, and I cannot fathom why. The guys who loaded our truck were nice kids. One was on his phone a lot, the other was not. I had some furniture damage, rendering a couch unusable and my dining table missing giant chunks of wood. Damages happen, but here is my issue... I had 2 bags of unused furniture pads that could have kept the wood damage from happening. And the company has not returned my phone calls to discuss the damages. On 4/10/2019, I hired Davis Moving Company, 210-836-7466, in conjunction with my Uhaul rental through Uhaul's "Moving Help" feature. On the 4/13 Saturday moving day....NO SHOW, NO CALL, NO TEXT, and NEVER RETURNED A CALL. Not sure how they received good reviews on other apps, seems YELP is the only one with accurate reviews. I should have done my homework. Yes, I will be pursue a refund of $170.95. I did, however, call Good Guys Movers in San Antonio and they sent two outstanding movers to save the day. I do NOT recommend this company! This is the worst experience I've ever encountered. They are very unprofessional and the owner, Torre Davis is shady and was not transparent at all regarding storage. They showed up with a small truck to move my belongings and had to do two trips. Torre told me they had a storage facility for my stuff, his facility was his garage at an apartment complex, he failed to disclose that to me when I agreed to storage, because of this I had to use the company again to move my things to a real storage facility. They also stored my credit card information without my permission and charged it without my authorization, I never saw an invoice! I told them I wanted to see the invoice and compare it to the times I wrote down, but that did not happen. These guys are quick however they started 10 minutes past the start time due to me getting the truck there late but then charged me an extra 50 dollars because they couldn't get my dining table out the door. They do not carry any tools, so if you need something disassembled you are in trouble. In the past all of my movers have taken my beds apart and put them together in the new place. They are careless and don't use the furniture pads you provide. As a result I have scratches on my new dresser, the leather on my ottoman was torn and my mattress is covered in black grease (after providing mattress covers they didn't use). Do not use this company. They completely damaged the front of my blemish free refrigerator and then when I contacted the owner, he completely ignored my complaint. They want your money through U-Haul and then they are done with you. They even have the apologies down. When I confronted the lead mover Hamse about the damage done and to the refrigerator and the walls of the house, he apologized "sincerely" as if he meant it. But he didn't. He was friends with the owner driving the owner's car. In the end, these guys are college cowboys that don't know how to move and will damage your belongings and house. Oh, did I mention that they took 14 hours to move a 4 bedroom house? Yes, Hamse was fasting. They arrived at 9 and by 1, he was exhausted. His helper was brand new and had no idea how to move anything. They were inefficient and clueless about loading and before the first load was delivered, Hamse was complaining he was light headed. Yet I was expected to pay for this. I am all for his religious fasting. But not on my time where I pay $61 per hour. This company will be out of business soon. read more

I booked these guys through U-Haul. They stood me up on day one. They apologized and sent two guys the next day. I'm pretty sure they picked them up as day laborers in front of Home Depot. The two guys argued incessantly, dropped my refrigerator, only used two of the 24 furniture pads provided and damaged every single piece of furniture I had in some way. The refrigerator won't even turn on. I have contacted the company several times. All they do is ask for pictures and then never respond back with a resolution. I hate damaging a business reputation and putting a company's employees out of work, but they've left me with no choice. Clearly they are not interested in making things right. I noticed that they have renamed themselves to Davis Cleaning Company. One wonders if they are trying to out run their past or they have given up on providing moving services. Either way, they do not have the honor or eithics to make the it right. I have had my bedroom set and my desk for almost 10 years. I had lovingly cared for them and they looked almost brand new. Now every piece is gouged, scraped, has a corner knocked off. They knocked off all of the veneer on the trim section that runs around the bottom of a BRAND NEW kitchen cart. DO NOT!!! I repeat.. DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY. My next stop is to complain to U-Haul. I trusted them to only recommend companies that are licensed and bonded. This 'company' is by far the most dishonest, rude and unprofessional group of people I have ever had the misfortune to do business with. ***DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE USE THIS COMPANY!!*** They moved us in May and I am now writing this review because they have ignored us for TWO months and I have finally given up trying to even get in contact with these people. The two men who moved our stuff were on time, and I admit we were approx. 5 min late to the site because of an issue renting our moving truck and they were nice and understanding about it, but that is where anything positive about our experience ends. We had called a month in advance, talked to THEIR representative, and booked a move from two separate sites into a third site--our new apartment. The move took approx. 4-5 hours for a one bedroom apartment, one of the movers was on his phone a lot, and they complained often that this was too big of a job for two movers, and made it seem like it was our fault for overbooking them. We told their representative a month prior all that was involved with our move and had nothing to do with their overbooking themselves. The movers also damaged many pieces of furniture, including shattering our fish tank, completely destroying the top of our washing machine, snapping a knob off the washer, and creating huge gouges in our walls. They then told my husband that the damage was his fault for going over speed bumps, which I now see on other reviews is their go-to excuse for anything that happens. All together they caused approx. over $1000 of damage due to completely ruining several very expensive items. I made the HUGE mistake of paying them over $300 for the move, with the understanding that we would text their manager Torre pictures of the damage and he would be in contact with us about how to either get a refund or repay us for the damages. We texted and got no response, then called and left messages and still had no response. We were finally able to get a hold of a representative by using a DIFFERENT number, who told us that if we had booked through Uhaul--we hadn't--that they charge $89 flat rate and are NEVER responsible for any damages, then hung up. We haven't been able to get in contact with anyone since, and have now given up, which I imagine was their goal to start with. Get our money, and hope we eventually go away. If you have made the same huge mistake that I did in booking them and they cause damage DO NOT pay them before negotiating the refund, because that is going to be the only way you get any response from them. He said it would fit, needless to say when we opened trailer door at ending location the door took gashes out of it. When I went to sit on my couch I had three legs missing. They didn't even acknowledge the fact that they were broken off. Found the legs later on the side. Trevor was very professional but they need more training on ways of moving furniture and customer service. I have tried calling and no one has returned my call. Very disappointed. read more

I had them unload a 26 foot Penske truck, which they were able to do for a great price under 2 hours with no damage to the furniture.

We paid upfront and nobody showed up despite us making numerous phone calls. We spoke with the owner the morning of and were told he would be calling us back to give an estimated arrival (after booking and confirming the move date a few days before). We never received a call back and all of our phone calls were declined. We were behind schedule waiting for the movers to arrive and ended up having to rent our U-Haul an extra day because of the delay. Not to mention we're now having to miss work because our storage rental will be closed by the time we get back into town after spending 6 hours on the road bringing the rest of our stuff here. I tried to review the Facebook page, but I was blocked from it. I guess he doesn't want the truth to come out. This isn't a legitimate moving company, just a kid who will take your money and ignore your phone calls. You're better off donating your money to a good cause than spending it here and hoping for something in return. Find someone a little more reliable and trustworthy. read more

His movers never showed up. I'm guessing he forgot to book it in his system. He was also unresponsive to my phone calls whenever I realize they were very late. Would not recommend. read more

If you want a professional mover and are on a schedule do NOT use this group. A week before my move I received a call asking if their arrival time could be pushed back two hours because "...we're all college students and (my moving day) is the first day of class." The day of the move I receive a phone call from a Dallas, TX area code telling me that the driver is by building #31 and can't find my apartment. There's no building #31 in my complex but I'm moving to Dallas into building #31 so, thinking it's the driver from Dallas I tell him we'll meet the next day. It turns out he's part of the San Antonio crew and once he left, suddenly no one is available to help. I call the supervisor and I'm told that all of his crews are "...in medical school and are doing homework." So, my elderly father and I ended up loading a truck, I now have to make other arrangements for my heavy furniture and will spend even more money thanks to a group that can't use a local phone. read more

Long story short, we hired this company through Uhaul. They confirmed our move date and time. Everything was going great until moving day. It was about 15 past when they were supposed to meet us so I called to get an ETA and the gentleman on the phone said he would call our movers and get back to me. 15 more minutes go by so I call back, he says he cant get a hold of them and hell call them again. 15 more mins go by and the same thing happens. Now we are an hour past our moving window and we are on a deadline since we are moving to a new city. I call back and I promise I am nice because I am not one to raise my voice in general and I again ask for an ETA, come to find out they blocked my phone number. Mind you we prepaid for their services. SO moral of the story - they no showed and blocked me to avoid their mistake. I had to go through Uhaul to somehow figure out how to get our money back and they were appalled as well. I would stay clear away from this company. My husband and I had to scramble and call friends to help us quickly pack up our moving truck. It was a nightmare. read more
