I appreciate the talktive but when i pay you 99$ an hour and live not even 10 mins down the road. Plus only having a couple things to put into the truck. Its the lack of the speed of putting things up and making lots of small talk, adding up time. Im not made of money and paying 400$ because your movers wanna spend 30+ mins talking in between furniture and somehow get lost and take longer to get to the destination. Its unacceptable. Your movers need to be more efficient in speed, also how they carry stuff cause i now have to pay damages to my apartment that had nothing in it, let alone in the way for them. Its two of them, team work, no other excuse. Lastly, i understand getting lost on the road and driving cautiously to the place is a 5/5 but taking 20 min to get there when its 10 mins away is odd. read more

Hired SA moving guys multiple times however, after this last move, I'll never go back. Our 65" ($1000+) TV was dropped by Juan and it no longer works. My wife and I have been having LOTS of trouble getting it replaced. We are on the 6th week right now and still don't have a replacement tv. Eddie Arroyo (the owner) last provided us an update on June 18th saying he would get us the documents we needed within 2 days. It's been over two weeks and I can't seem to get any updates from anyone. I have kept track of all the email threads for evidence as well as when we called and left voicemails. First couple weeks they said they were "extremely overwhelmed with new moves, the claim would be processes the ASAP" .. now I'm getting "Eddie has been out of town all week". I would highly recommend going elsewhere, it's worth paying a more expensive company to handle your move as I'm sure they would do a better job handling your insurance claim. Friday was my 4th move with Frank & co and it was another PERFECT experience! Fred and Matt are truly a dynamic duo. My complicated living situation quickly turned a 1BR move into a moving truck packed floor to ceiling, front to back, in a way to put any Tetris master to shame. I don't know how Fred did it, or how he managed to do it again when the truck was unloaded into storage. He put in extra time and effort doing it Tetris-style so that I wouldn't have to rent a 2nd storage unit. And Matt, he's just nonstop hauling boxes and heavy furniture from my 2 story apartment to the truck, truck to storage, 105 degrees outside. Kind men, polite men, gentle with my property, respectful of my time and money. I hope they're the team that's sent to move me next time. Thanks! read more

I would give 0 stars if I could. I called and scheduled got a quote etc. The day before I was supposed to get a confirmation call but no one called so I called them. Saturday morning they were supposed to be there at 9 Frank called and said the had trouble with a truck and asked if the could reschedule for Sunday. At first I said no but figured it was ok for the 20% off he offered me. I had also scheduled a 3 man crew and they had only put me down for 2.... Well Sunday morning rolls around and they were supposed to be there at 9am after me calling repeatedly and being told they were on their way they finally arrived at 1130. The guys were not dressed professionally at all. They didn't even bring water for a move in the middle of August! 3 1/2 hours later as they are finishing my move I realize I have 4 drawers and no dresser so I ask. One mover calls Frank the other gets on the phone blaming me for not taking the drawers out. I said you moved my stuff out of my old place and never told me that the drawers needed to be removed. Turns out they broke the dresser and threw it away without telling me. They ended up giving me another $100 off. Fast forward a week a so and stuff is missing from my daughters room including a Rangers ball cap and Coors light flag. It's not even worth me attempting to make a claim. Do. It risk it! Still unhappy about the clothes being thrown into a wardrobe box..all had to be pressed $$$... and several flower arrangements were ruined as well as my father's chair is broken. I recently had the pleasure of having 3 hardworking young men help me move from my apartment into my new home. Called Saturday morning for a next day move on a Sunday, Kim was the employee who helped me over the phone and was able to fit us in! Fred seems to be mentioned a lot in reviews, and for a good reason! Both Fred and Jon helped us and arrived in the time window Kim booked for us. They worked very quickly, efficiently, and safely during our move and even took apart furniture that needed disassembled for no extra cost. My one small issue I had was using their online quote services, I tried it on Thursday evening, but no one ever got back to me. Though I could of not done it properly? So I had about 10 items total that needed to be moved on short notice to my new place 5 blocks away. None of this included antiques, Grandma's fine china, or anything the least bit complicated to move. Yet somehow these people managed to colossally screw up every single thing. Join me on this dysfunctional journey as I describe to you the multiple levels of failure exhibited by SA Moving Guys: 1) I initially talk to a disgruntled sounding woman with the charisma of Roseanne Barr on the phone. "It's $80 an hour, plus a $40 fee for a minimum of 2 hours," she slurred. "So basically $200, since it's not going to take 2 hours?" I replied. "No. It's $80 an hour, plus a $40 fee for a minimum of 2 hours," she angrily repeated. Despite feeling a twinge of apprehension over her lack of math and social skills, I went ahead and booked them because they were available the next day. Upon further reflection, this was most likely due to a lack of repeat business. Live and learn. 2) Fifty minutes after the agreed upon time, the movers finally show up. The first guy immediately starts begging for tips and the other one never takes off his headphones 3) The movers take an excruciatingly long time to load roughly 1/8th of a full size moving truck, bickering the whole time and disregarding any advice to be careful. When it's time to leave they start driving the wrong way on a busy one-way street and cause an enormous traffic jam while trying to figure out how to drive in reverse. 4) The movers manage to finally drive 5 blocks without hitting anything. This victory is short lived as I then get to see my mountain bike fall out of the back of the truck in slow motion. The derailleur is trashed. While talking to guy #1 about it, the other one manages to pull out the brake cable on my road bike. When confronted about it, Headphones guy responds "I didn't do it. My fingerprints aint on that bike." Disturbing and foreshadowing all in one, folks. 5) At this point, the movers start actively arguing with each other over whose fault everything is. Headphones disappears to have some alone time and leaves Guy #1 to do everything. Panicking, he continues moving things while talking on his phone. I then get to see my floor cabinet fall out of the back of the moving truck. 6) I call the lovely Roseanne back at the office and explain what is happening. She gets defensive and claims that her company has never broken anything and has never had a complaint since the dawn of time. The lady doth protest too much, methinks. 7) I call the owner. Clearly, any respectable business owner would be horrified at the events that had transpired and want the opportunity to make it right. Right? Wrongo. He gave me the same overly defensive spiel as Roseanne and then came the foot in mouth moment of the century. Wait for it.... He tells me: "These guys are ex-cons and I'm keeping them off the streets. If I didn't hire them to move your stuff, they'd be breaking into your house and stealing it instead." Yes, folks, you heard it here first. For the bargain basement price of $80 an hour, you too can give ex-convicts access to your home and all your worldly possessions you've worked a lifetime to acquire. Hey, they'll even break a bunch of stuff and scratch up your hardwood floors for free. Call now! 8) Instead of acknowledging the mistake and letting insurance cover the cost of the damaged items like a reputable company would, the owner claims he is going to come over to my house to see these "so-called damaged items" for himself, because clearly everyone is out to get him. 9) Four hours later, my friend and I have given up and are on our way to happy hour when a kid about 4'11" knocks on the door. "That can't be him," my friend says. "Nah, it looks like a student from Brackenridge High school fundraising again," I unknowingly replied. Shocking reveal: It was the owner. 10) After meeting my 6'2" male friend, Lil Feller does a complete 180. He's apologizing profusely and making all these grand promises to fix everything. His voice starts cracking and I think he starts to go through puberty before our very eyes. 11) I contact Lil Feller to follow-up and find his personality make-over is short lived (pun intended). With his tiny, fragile little ego he's back to being ultra-defensive and grasping at straws to deflect blame. He claims nothing is broken and he's not paying for anything. The second-hand embarrassment is too much for me at this point so I defer the issue to my credit card company. Sorted. So what have we learned from this story? The guys that helped me move couldn't have been any more professional. My appointment was at 9 AM, and I received a call from Frank that they may be late at about 8:15. They ended up arriving exactly at 9, but I was appreciative for the communication. They were extremely fast and courteous, they wrapped up and took care of my items. I had to move on a very short noticed and searched for movers on Yelp, I found these guys and requested a quote very late in the day, around 10pm, the owner responded within a few minutes and scheduled me in for the following day. The movers were very courteous and efficient in everything! I received a call to let me know when they were headed my way and once they arrived they wasted no time to get things going. I would not recommend this company at all. We purchased insurance on our TVs for the move, and they broke our larger (brand new) living room TV. Initially, they told us that they'd replace it, no problem, and they were very apologetic. Now three months later, still nothing. Not only have they purposely screened and ignored our calls, emails and texts (this includes the owner by the way), but they've lied to us several times by providing false "claim" updates and proposed dates that we'd receive our refund. These updates have come straight from the owner. Hiring this company has been a complete nightmare. They're inexpensive, but unreliable (almost two hours late on our more day) and unprofessional. Save yourself the pain, and pay just a little more for another moving company. read more

Had a very small job to move our old living room set that we wanted to give to our mother for her new apartment. Although it took less than an hour, they had to charge me for a minimum of 2 hours. They said they would arrive at 9 and came at 9:30 but they did call and let me know when they would be arriving. Since it took less than an hour, it was fine that they were late. I've moved 10+ times in my life and paid more than double for these guys what I normally pay to take their sweet time and add a miscellaneous extra fee because of the type of couch I had. these are the types of questions or fees that should be mentioned ahead of time when booking. Absolutely highly recommend! These guys were FAST. They confirmed a week ahead, confirmed the day before and also called me 1 1/2 hour to confirm their arrival soon. Fred and Matt came 5 minutes before time to start, and explained everything thoroughly in the beginning of the process. As soon as i understood, they asked if i had any questions and then started timing. They made sure everything that anything heavy or anything unwrapped is being grabbed or taken and they were very careful with all of our belongings. They didn't wrap anything since i didn't request it, but they did have a dolly to move everything with caution. Awesome personalities so it was very easy to talk with them. Once everything was picked up, we followed with drop off. They moved very fast and was straight forward with the payment. They took about 1 hour and 15 minutes at the most, but most of our stuff was already packed and disassembled. 2 hours are required which is a total of $200 plus $50 travel fee so total of move is $250.00. NOT BAD AT ALL FOR PRICING!! Most places are expensive roughing around $300 and up not including traveling fee. FRED AND MATT were absolutely amazing, gave a great experience and we WILL BE USING THEM AGAIN! read more

SA Moving Guys moved me today (10/5/17) from a two bedroom on the second floor to a one bedroom on the first floor and I'm pretty disappointed. I thought I found a gem after reading the reviews on this company. I even cancelled other companies after I found them. What a disappointment. First off, I had to call three times to try to confirm my move. The first two times I left a voicemail with no call back, the third I tried the number from Yelp and got an answer and confirmed my move. The day before I got another confirmation. My two guys- Fred was really polite. He called to tell me they were running behind and why. No problem. When they arrived Fred greeted me and introduced himself. He's very nice. The other guy, I can't even remember his name came into my house, never introduced himself. I said hi, he still didn't introduce himself just mumbled hi and began moving boxes. You're coming into my house as a stranger you better figure out how to be courteous to make others feel comfortable. Now for the move... I have a $4500 Tempurpedic mattress and frames. They were going to haul it straight out without wrapping or covering in blankets. I asked for them to be wrapped completely because I didn't want them to get dirty. Of course the ends are now dirty and has snags because they drug it and the plastic tore off and they didn't wrap the top and bottom. I'm not happy. This was the most important piece to me that I wanted completely protected. They never brought the blankets into the house. In past moves, blankets were brought in, are wrapped around the furniture and secured with saran wrap to protect it. Not the case here. Next my washer and dryer. My washer is on a pedestal. They pulled the dryer out so hard that there are now rips in the linoleum and little nicks all around. I will have to pay my complex to replace this flooring because it's completely ruined. They couldn't get the washer down the stairs because the landing. They brought it back up and we're going to carry it with the entire washer wrapped so the pedestal would stay put. They determined that the pedestal became loose. As they lifted it the pedestal popped off. Now it won't reattach. When we got to the new apartment they were in such a rush to get out that the dryer ended up not actually being hooked up properly. The washer won't stay on the pedestal. They didn't get it attached. I also can't open the washer door because they didn't remember to move it over so it would fit properly. When my friend tried to move it over the washer popped off the pedestal. My couch wasn't wrapped and maybe blanketed in the truck, not sure as I didn't see it. Seems okay. They did wrap my other items in plastic and almost didn't unwrap them, again because they were in a hurry. I had to ask. So all and all it was sloppy and not too professional. Seemed like it was a contract job. The truck didn't have their name, they weren't wearing clothes with their company name. I probably won't recommend this company to my friends. I only gave two stars because I Fred deserves some respect for being courteous. I would go elsewhere. read more

They did offer us 10% off due to the inconvenience though. We felt like that was completely fair. All of our stuff looks great and we are very happy with the service. I'm military and was moving across the country to San Antonio into an apartment complex on the third floor. I had another moving company lined up to help me unload the truck and move everything upstairs into the apartment, but they canceled the day before I was to arrive. It seemed like everyone I was calling was fully booked or way too expensive, until I found these guys. I'm all about reviews, and theirs were great, so I called and they said they could be at my place the very next morning, two guys, for a good price. I booked them and the next morning two guys showed up with the truck, had the dolly and some cloth to put on the edges of things, and moved everything up and into my apartment in less than two hours. They were quick, efficient, didn't break anything, and the price was right. What more can you ask for? read more
