When we started, we only knew what we didn't like about our current kitchen. Like any major…read moreproject, we started by reaching out to a couple of vendors to get quotes, that's where we met Alon, the project manager for Lumina Builders. What immediately stood out to us was that he had ideas and solutions to address our pain points and make enhancements, we wouldn't have ever considered, and didn't just wait for us to tell him how we wanted things. He created a vision for us in that first quote visit. The other contractor we spoke to didn't provide any ideas just asked us how we wanted it. It was a very easy decision to go with Alon and Lumina Builders. Our project was estimated to take 2-3 months and ultimately took two and a half months to complete. We designed a brand new kitchen, addressing all of our concerns and adding a few recommendations from Alon to streamline some areas. They ripped everything out aside from the flooring and walls. We got brand new custom cabinets, custom lighting, and new countertops. Our fridge was moved to a new, more accessible area. Our sink was shifted down to align with the stove for continuity sake (never realized how much I hated it being in a corner previously). We had a new little cabinet built in our little breakfast nook area and we had an appliance garage built to house everything that took up counter space. Everything is so much brighter and more open and, even though we know the demensions are roughly the same, it feels so much wider. We are ecstatic with how everything came out. Alon is a genius. He was responsive to us throughout the project, checking in weekly to see how things were going, giving us peace of mind throughout this process, as first time remodelers. We were indecisive about the primary cabinet color (I was very worried we'd be stuck with something we didn't really like) but he worked with the cabinet makes to give us several samples to choose from. He was very patient with us. We LOVE how everything turned out! We'll definitely be using Lumina Builders for all of our future projects.

Great quality, great communication, and an overall excellent experience. I highly recommend Ben and his team!

We also found his pricing to be very reasonable and he did not play any games with payments. And his crew showed up to work as stated and asked us at times if they could stay later (we were happy to oblige) ...which meant it would be done sooner. I will not hesitate to use Poseidon again. I can't say enough great things about Zoran and Poseidon. We are truly blessed to have met and hire you for this project. If I could give more than five stars, I would in a heartbeat. Thank you so much Poseidon and Zoran for all your help and hard work, we are LOVING our new shower!!

Of the many options they had the best ideas and the qualified workmen. Mike Garst considered the project from every angle, brought in members of his team on 3 occasions to suggest approaches. When they opened the dry wall we found the supports were rotted & had to be replaced. They built a roof support, replaced damaged wood, added cement inside the walls higher than outside level to prevent leaks, then filled a beautiful solid cement floor and repaired the drywall. Better than good as new, this room boasts a superior foundation that gives me confidence. Every member of Mike's team is punctual, profesional, knowledgeable and courteous. When work was done, Mike came and, on his own account, adjusted the sticky sliding door so it moves smoothly. Mike's boss, Brian, also came several times to look over the project. I feel very fortunate to have had MASTERCRAFT take on this hugely complex project and bring a disaster to a happy ending. They explained options, patiently answered my questions and were courteous and pleasant throughout. I'm very particular about quality, and whenever I raised a concern, it was addressed quickly and properly. Minimal surprises, flexible throughout, and genuinely easy to work with. I'd absolutely use Coast to Coast again for their insurance expertise, reputation, and service.

Casey gave me a rundown of what needed to be completed and even caught some things others didn't which was absolutely crucial. David was the absolute best in overseeing my bathroom restoration. He communicates in a timely manner and is very thorough with his work. I was told I would need my vanity replaced but I wanted to keep the old vanity top. David went out of his way to find the exact dimensions so that there would be no fuss. There was trouble when I ordered the vanity from home depot, but David was able to find the exact same vanity for a similar price and really came through for us. He is also a very friendly and personable individual. I highly recommend working with David. Overall everyone in Coast to Coast Restoration was excellent to work with and though I hope nothing like this ever happens again, I will only be calling them if anything ever happens in the future.

We went with Forever Builders, who also did some demo for us when we first moved in. Among other things, we 1) stripped and replaced the floor, 2) demoed the built-in tub and replaced it with a soaking tub, 3) replaced the vanity countertops, 4) installed a chandelier and sconces, and 5) installed a custom shower door. Steve was our project manager for the entire project, which took 3-4 weeks. We are so incredibly pleased with the result, and just as happy with the service and professionalism we received from Steve and his team. Steve managed every aspect of this complex project flawlessly, stopped by frequently to check progress and QC each phase of work, and was consistently responsive and professional. He took my calls on nights and weekends, and I always felt taken care of and valued as an important customer--such a rare occurrence these days. The craftsmanship was flawless too. I am a detail-oriented person and tend to demand perfection, and Forever Builders exceeded my expectations. As a bonus, they also installed a floating vanity for me in a secondary bathroom, as a complimentary part of the project. Since then, I have also asked Steve and Forever Builders to patch up a huge portion of ceiling drywall at my mom's house that was screwed up by another company, and they did an amazing job with that as well. We hired them to do an addition on our home in BayHo in late 2022 (you've probably seen it on their socials) Our first project manager Nathan was horrible. He never communicated and when he did he'd ensure something would get done, only for it to never materialize. Thankfully we were assigned to Ben when I said I was just cancelling the project all together. The company pushed us hard to hire their "engineer/architect" and BOY was that a mistake. The plans were horrific, the project was delayed and it wasn't until I reported him to the licensing authority and threatened litigation that he responded to the city's request for changes. We found out later that multiple requests we'd made for the plans (pocket doors, arched doorways, etc) were never included and thus couldn't be included without starting over. At this point our project was already delayed over three months. Once work did begin we were hopeful but the project was wrought with issues. One being a MASSIVE leak during construction into the current structure of our home. We had a newborn baby and were forced to move into a tiny part of our home during this. The entire side of the house was left open and exposed for weeks which was incredibly unsafe. The project ended up being completed and almost immediately had issues (not to mention a number of frustrating things during the build I don't even have space to discuss). Grout was disintegrating, cracks were forming all along the drywall, we'd notice issues with the flooring and tiling in the bathroom. Then during the storm in San Diego in 2023 the ENTIRE addition began to leak. Water was POURING in at every point it joined the existing structure. It's now been a month and still the damage hasn't been repaired. Work was supposed to begin 9/26 after two random men I'd never met showed up and walked into my bedroom through an exteriowithout knocking (on 9/22) to "check it out." At 1pm after contacting Dor (owner) and Ben (old project manager) we were told they'd "come tomorrow." So the entire day we took off to be here to supervise the moving of our very expensive light colored furniture I was point have every bit of communication from this company so please spare me the gaslighting response. Then- in early 2025 our sliding door began leaking. We contacted them and they said it was just a "caulking issue." They came and put silicone all around the door and left it at that. They didn't repaint or fix any of the interior damage from the leak. At the end of 2025 our drain in the shower stopped working. A plumber found no obstruction but said the drain wasn't installed properly, so we have to leave the drain cover off to use the shower. Absent tearing the shower out, there's no fix. Fast forward to today- what do you know? Another leak! This time, during the most recent rain, water began coming in where the addition meets the living room. No way I trust them to be honest, so I hired a licensed roofer. He came out and said where the addition meets the original home wasn't actually sealed (and assumed a roofer didn't actually do the work). They apparently put silicone gel down where the two roofs meet, instead of firing the roof and melting it together. We'll be seeking reimbursement for this repair or eventually filing a claim in small claims court. If it gets to that I'll probably be asking to have all the shoddy work repaired. I could never in good conscience recommend this company now. I'm disgusted by the lack of communication and poor workmanship. I honestly don't even trust them to repair their work at this point.

Review Update (2026)…read more I am updating my original 5-star review from a few years ago. At the time, we were very happy with our kitchen remodel and the overall experience working with Creative Design & Build. The project turned out beautifully, which is why I originally left such a positive review. Over the years, however, I noticed that one section of the flooring felt slightly soft when walking on it. At first, it did not seem serious, so we continued to live with it. Recently, the problem became worse and a section of the floor began to noticeably sink when stepped on and eventually a few edges of the flooring broke. At that point, I became concerned that it could become a safety issue. Because we still had plenty of spare flooring boards left over from the project, I attempted to replace the affected board myself. Unfortunately, I was unable to get the new board to fit correctly due to the locking system, and I could not restore the original board either. I then contacted Creative Design & Build for assistance. One reason I reached out was because our original project manager, Oded, had told us that if we ever had any issues, we should contact the company. I left a voicemail and later received a return call from a staff member. After I explained the situation, she said she would check with management and get back to me. A few days later, I received a text message stating that the warranty had expired and that no repairs would be covered. This was disappointing because I had never been informed that there was a four-year warranty period, nor was I able to find any reference to such a limitation in our contract. When I asked for details regarding the warranty and whether they could recommend someone to repair the issue, I did not receive any further response. There were two other issues relating to electrical and plumbing, however we decided to live with that until we had a major problem we needed fixing. I still appreciate the work that was done on our remodel years ago, and our kitchen remains a space we enjoy. However, I have been disappointed by the lack of follow-up and support when a problem arose. My advice to future customers is to make sure all warranty terms, coverage details, and expiration dates are clearly documented and understood before signing a contract.

TNT Design & Build

We recently completed a major remodel with TNT Design and Build, and now that everything is…read morefinished, we're very happy with the result. The kitchen and primary bathroom were the biggest transformations, but the new staircase and tile work on the risers are probably what grab you first when you walk into the house. The quality of the finished work really shows. Austin was an excellent project manager and had a lot to coordinate on a pretty involved project across multiple trades. Tabo and others did excellent plumbing work, including some fairly complicated changes with our Brizo shower and bath fixtures. Armando and others handled the electrical work, including getting our Lutron Caseta lighting set up throughout the house. Ivan and Juan Carlos did beautiful, artistic tile and masonry work, including the fireplace, which is one of the highlights of the remodel. Dakota did expert fabrication and installation of our Taj Mahal quartzite and large-format porcelain slabs, and Damian and David built and stained a beautiful new staircase that completely changed the entrance to our home. The tile work, stairs, fireplace, plumbing, and stonework are all areas where the craftsmanship really stands out. Austin was always kind, patient, and positive, even when there were problems to work through. His personality is honestly tailor-made for project management, and he was good at pushing things in the right direction without creating unnecessary drama. There were a few points where things were moving slower than expected and I reached out to the owner to help grease the skids, which helped get things moving again. Austin was also very good about addressing things he knew bothered us, no matter how small. The biggest area for improvement was the schedule. The project took a bit longer than we expected, and for a project this involved, I think more realistic milestones and completion targets could have been established up front and updated along the way. There were stretches where we were guessing when certain things would actually be finished. My advice to anyone starting a large remodel would be to ask a lot of questions about the schedule at the beginning, get realistic milestones clearly defined, and then be patient. Having worked with other contractors in the past, we know some of this is just part of remodeling, and I think TNT managed it much better than others we've worked with before. That said, remodeling is ultimately about what you're left with when everyone is gone, and we're extremely happy with what TNT built for us. The workmanship made it worth the wait, and we would absolutely recommend them to someone who puts quality ahead of rushing through a job. I'd much prefer the former than the latter!
