I called David after our tv was "fried" by lightning and he said he would diagnose it for $15 which was far less than other tv repair companies. I took it to David and within 3 hours he had diagnosed it and called back. He orders the parts and within 4 days had the tv fixed. David was very easy to work with and knows what he is doing. With a followup call he was reminded that a part needed to be ordered. A week or so later he called and asked if we had brought our tv in with the back on it. What? BEWARE of TV repairmen working out of their garage. Very non responsive, unprofessional and changed the diagnostic twice when the price went from $199 to $350. In the end, I did get the picture back but lost 1/4 inch of pixels across the screen. This is a 3 year old 55" Sony. Dropped the TV off in a perfectly clean condition and picked up the TV which was filthy dirty! What a nightmare! read more

Mr David picked up my TV about 2 weeks ago, I paid the $35 trip charge I was told he would diagnose it and call me with an estimate. I have not heard anything after calling and going by his shop he explained that he was overloaded and would get to it. Needless to say I'm still waiting. Oh David, when a customer gets quoted a price and then you go changing prices on them of course they will want to know the cost of parts and labor. Especially when you say fine, its 50/50. Don't get offended/frustrated. When you state that you will charge $25 to diagnose the issue, the customer is expecting to know what the issue is with the device, not to get an estimate on the repair like you say. You stated "customer" you paid me $25 to give you an estimate on the repair not to diagnose the issue or tell you what is wrong with the TV. Yes David, with the all your inconsistencies, I called you and said, it is best that I fix it, but then I realize it's too much of a hassle for me and asked you to complete the repairs at your service price. I texted you several times on the status of the repair with no response. After awhile, you decided to call me and tell me come pick up your TV. I am thinking great, let me go pay him for services rendered. As I am making plans to pick up the repaired TV, you stated, I did not repair the TV because I did not want to. I did not even try. You stated, "You (customer) do not have any rights to know what I pay for parts, you're not my CPA." Then you said, I did not fix it because, I did not know how to fix it. Then you followed up by saying, "I am saying that I don't know how to fix your TV so that I can make you believe that." Oh David, you wasted my time but it's ok and I am not upset. It's actually comical. Yes David you are correct, we customers are not your CPA. We simply want to know what we are paying for. It's normal business practices. Don't be so grumpy and don't take offense when customers are curious about what they are paying for when their quoted prices change on the fly several times. Waste of money and time. We have a 60 inch Samsung plasma that started turning off on its own, dropped it off at his shop 2 days before thanksgiving and he said he might be able to get it back to us before thanksgiving. Well, we ended up spending the next 2 1/2 WEEKS trying to track down the status. He wouldn't return calls and when we did reach him, he was out of the shop or couldn't give us an estimated turn around. We went to the shop to just pick up the tv and take it elsewhere but he wasn't open, even though he said he would be. Long story short, we eventually got it back (after we threatened to call the police!) and paid $200 for the repair. It worked one day and then started shutting off. Still under warranty, we called him to fix it again. Mistake. Same communication issues, he had it for 5 days and hadn't worked on it and couldn't tell us when it'd be done! We took the loss, had him return it, and he did, but with a rude attitude and no apologizes or explanation, other than: "If I answered every phone call, I'd never get anything done." Now we have a janky TV that shuts off at random and are out a couple of hundred bucks. Will have to pay someone else to redo this work. read more

I dropped off a 19" LED TV on 21Dec15. I was going to give it away to an elderly man who had no tv. It had a "power off" every few minutes issue. I called on 3Feb16 and left a message on David's phone. I called back 24 hrs. later and got David. He could not find his paperwork, the listing of the drop off in his computer, or my tv. He called back about 2 hrs. later and had found the tv and gave me an estimate for $130. I told him to keep the tv as I bought a refurb from MicroCenter for $80 and gave it away to the gentleman before Christmas. I think that David could have given me the $130 estimate before Christmas and I would have given him the tv. I asked if he had a used tv that I could buy and he told me no. One if my HDTVs went out. I called Torres. He said "It's the screen. Toss it out." When I asked if he look at it, he said he'd send someone by. They never came. I called David's TV Repair. He came two hours later to look at it. After a few minutes he said he thought he could repair it. He called back two days later with a price. Fine. He had to order parts. If your old enough to remember the original NES (Nintendo), then you also remember, those big clunky tvs you had growing up, where big screen, meant big pain to move, 300lb behemoth. While the flat panel era is in full swing, I still have one of those CRT clunkers, and it stopped working because of a minor problem so I decided to bring it to David's TV. Talk about a hole in the wall, its a little hard to find, but well worth the trip, the guy also gives free estimates! With over 30 years of experience in the TV repair game, he sized up my problem and fixed it in about an hour, for $30. David repaired the DLP chip in my Tv and spots appeared where they weren't before. Over a long period of time we tried to arrange for him to come back in and replace the faulty one with a good one. He finally got the replacement part and our schedules together and I had my brother-in-law come over to let him in while I was at work only to find out later that he never replaced it because he couldn't see anything wrong with it. He never called to ask me where on the tv the spots were or when they appeared, he just flat out left. Fast forward to two weeks ago when I arrange to stay home from work so he can come by...and he no shows me. Doesn't call and answer my calls or show up. Although my initial experience with him was very good (when he initially replaced the chip), his customer service is poor. If you get a faulty anything from him, be prepared to get stuck with it. read more
