And...pretty much everything creepy crawly that Virginia seems to be home to. So, I called Loudoun Lawn and Pest. I thought if I could go with a small local company verses the big guys with the red diamond, I would. So, Loudoun Pest came out and gave me a quote which had a couple different options. For comparison's sake, I called the guys with the red diamond, and got a quote as well. I don't remember exactly the quotes, but they were pretty similar. After thinking about it and continuing to be thoroughly creeped out by the bugs invading my house, I called Loudoun Lawn and left a message that I was ready to move forward with a service. I got one return message... so I called back and left a message again. And I didn't get a return call. After a couple days, I called again and spoke with someone and gave my address. He said he'd look into the quote and call me back. ....and 1 1/2 weeks later I've never gotten a return call. One message not returned, I can excuse. Maybe it got lost. But a total of 2 calls without a return call especially after speaking with someone? This yanks my review down to 1 star. So, I went with the guys with the red diamond.

I chose them because they are locally owned and they have "greener" options for treatments. They have only had to treat the interior of my house 2 times during the spring ant bloom in our neighborhood, all other services and products stay outside. Although they don't claim this, we have also seen far fewer stink bugs make it into the house since we've been using their regular service. Program was $150 set-up fee then $85 per quarter. If you see bugs between treatments they come back out at no charge until you are satisfied. We have also used them for summer yard treatments ($85 per month for program) due to rampant mosquitoes and the risk of Lyme disease from ticks in Loudoun county. Again they have less-toxic options which I appreciate. Not all mosquitoes are gone, particularly towards the end of the between-spraying period, but our deck is much more usable now than before. Haven't seen a single tick. Also called them out for squirrels in the attic this spring. I didn't want to get stuck with a $15,000 bill for repairs and reinsulation like a neighbor who ignored her problem. They came out within a couple of days, did a full inspection and wrote up a quote for a couple of options for exclusion that were very reasonable. We ended up having our roofer (who was supposed to have done it during a replacement earlier in the year) do the repairs. Recently we heard some more scratching in the attic and Casey, the owner, came out within a couple of days to check it out. He suggested it might be a mouse, there was no sign of anything larger, and put down some rodenticide. The whole visit was at no charge because we are regular customers of theirs. We are very happy with their service and I have recommended them to neighbors several times.

John climbed a ladder onto the roof and determined they were in fact gone, then he sealed the soffit and charged us accordingly. I would highly recommend this company. Great experiences!…read more Used a few years ago for roaches and ants, mostly in rental properties. Pros - Very pleasant. Not rushed. Not expensive compared to the usual companies. More effective treatments. No stringing you along with repeat visits. Roaches: unlike the bigboys that you pay to have come repeatedly, have to empty cabinets, and the roaches die all over the place... his chemicals ended the roaches almost instantly, didn't have to empty anything, safe around animals, and didn't have to clean up roaches. On huge infestations (falling from ceiling), within 2 days there were no more live ones. So disgusting, and solved so quickly. Ants too: detected, found nest, got rid of. I didn't even know what's what the property had. He showed me the sawdust with body parts that's evidence of them.

My son-in-law works an overnight shift and sometimes had a difficult time leaving the house because the skunks liked to have parties on the front lawn. I contacted several companies and small businesses and while some were less expensive than Nova Wildz had quoted, not a one of them made me feel as comfortable as I felt with Adam. Some of them were quite obnoxious as well. Adam explained the process clearly and provided us with routine updates as he monitored the skunks to make sure they were all out. He did not capture them, he put an exit only door on their entrance that would not allow them back in. I appreciate this method due to VA laws regarding capturing. We haven't seen a single skunk since he completed his work and the mulch and grass around the sidewalk doesn't look like anything happened at all. We just had them finish "critter proofing" our attic and they did a fantastic job from start to finish. The whole operation was professional - both the back-office team and the installers, Kody and Rob. Communication was solid, they showed up when they said they would, and the work quality was top-notch. They're not the cheapest option, but you truly get what you pay for. As the old saying goes: cry once, or cry over and over. They handled things the right way - humane control and a planned exit for the critters first, then they sealed everything up to future-proof the attic/roof from new incursions. What I also appreciated: no pushy upsells. No pressure to buy a new roof, insulation, or extra work you didn't ask for - just wildlife control done the right way. Based on the quality of the materials and the thoroughness of the top-side exclusion work, I can't imagine anything getting back in... unless it's purely by a critter's willpower. Highly recommend.
