We found Julian online, and from the start he was professional, knowledgeable, and confident in how to fix the situation. He came by, explained how he could remove the damaged flooring and would install everything correctly, and gave us a reasonable timeline and rate. We decided to move forward with him, and we are so glad we did. Julian and his two crew members were outstanding. They were always on time, incredibly respectful of our home, and as clean and careful as possible throughout the project. Their professionalism and attention to detail really stood out. Julian also kept us updated throughout the process by sending photos and videos along the way, which gave us a lot of peace of mind and helped us see the progress being made. He also went above and beyond when we asked to add extra work to the job, including tiling our fireplace and removing a built-in bookshelf. Not only did they handle those tasks beautifully, but they patched the wall and ceiling so well that you would never even know the bookshelf had been there. Julian also installed the flooring on our stairs and made a few recommendations about the flooring pattern that ended up making a huge difference in the final look. Alain turned my friend's kitchen from a dark, cramped, wood-paneled sore into a airy, retro cooking space wonder. To remove the existing laminate flooring and patches of adhesive vinyl beneath that, and replace with all new Pergo (TM) floor in my living room, kitchen, and hallway area, his bill came to $4000. I believe the price was fair. But what you get with the price is a classy French man to work in your home - and he gets the job done lightning fast. The one time he was late, he called to apologize in advance. He was running behind because he'd needed to feed his ducks. One time, I came home to find him and his assistant (also a French man), working efficiently like two gears in a clock, sneaking in gulps of red wine, and listening to NPR. The floor looked magnifique when they were done. Unfortunately, the Pergo started to show horrible scuff marks within a year. But blame that on the Swedes.

They listened to my concern about another board that looked to have a portion rotted and they were able to include replacing the rotted part and not create additional seams between the boards--something I hadn't thought possible! He arrived right on time all three days and finished the job in a day earlier than predicted. When he was done he cleaned up the work areas beautifully and gave us tips for cleaning the tile and grout. He was a great communicator throughout the entire process, and he made sure our escape artist cat didn't dash out the door while he was going in and out to cut tile. I hired Eliab of The Good Tile to remove our 90s bleh kitchen floor tile, remove our backsplash…read moretile, and install over 300 square feet of new flooring tile plus new backsplash, and extensive accent wall tiling in the backsplash tile. My new floor tile has a pattern, and the backsplash tiles were 2.4" x 8" ceramic hand glaze ceramic tiles, and so neither would be easy to install unless the tile installer was very skilled. I thought the review photos on Yelp showed Eliab already has an extensive body of work done well, and I loved that he specializes in tile so I knew that he should be very competent at it. And he and his guys Salvi and Rafael were excellent! They worked hard and did very precise work. That was a ton of cuts and joints to line up perfectly with all that subway tile, and it looks wonderful. The cuts around light switches and power receptacles: also precise. He was as good as his word about showing up, doing it right, and cleaning up as they went. He earned my trust, was good to work with, and I would happily hire him again. I definitely recommend! I will post pictures for now as is - but keep in mind the construction is still going on so they will not look as great as they should. I'll try to remember to update our photos when the remodel is truly done.
