I came here to purchase a baptism dress for my daughter because someone told me they were having a going out of business sale. They were right oh gosh, the store is closing July 19th. So sad where else are people going to buy wedding dresses. The staff was so nice regardless they are going to be unemployed in a few weeks. They have sales up to 80% off which came in handy for my daughter's dress. We brought the most beautiful cream dress for her baptism for $40. Taylor P is incredibly rude and a BODY SHAMER. I watched her insist that a customer was more than 2 sizes above what she normally wears and give her an attitude because she didn't like the first few dresses she wore. She body shamed the customer for not having a flat stomach and insisted that she buy a larger size despite the sample in a smaller size already being too big. Imagine bringing your younger daughter here for a prom dress or flower girl dress and having her be spoken to like this. I don't think giving customers a complex about their bodies when they are shopping for some of the happiest days in their lives is part of the David's Bridal job description. I just came from here to get my fitting. I really think stores in general are rated on who helps them, it all comes down to customer service. The lady that fitted me for my dress was an older woman; with an accent. Not sure what type of accent it was. I think her name was francine, something like that. WELL- she was amazing. She was schooling other women who worked there while fitting my dress. I was having some doubts about my dress and she made that all go away. My chest is more than average I guess you can say, so she got me the correct bra I needed. The original one I had she said wasn't good bc of the material. She spent about 30 mins taking in certain parts of my dress. She asked me before doing everything because every little thing adds up. $400 later my dress was ready to be all taken in and hemmed. She told me to come back in about 3 weeks. It was worth the money- I would always go back to her for whatever fitting I need! read more

A lot of my friends got their wedding dresses at David's Bridal, so I was fully prepared for the ambiance and service that my friend Amy called "Sears for wedding dresses." However, this store couldn't even meet those low expectations. The salesclerk was completely disinterested in me. I told her that I was having a modest, simple wedding, and so I didn't want a dress that was too fancy. She answered, "It's your wedding, of course you want fancy!" Um...I just said I didn't. While I was trying on dresses, I said I didn't like strapless dresses and I didn't like trains. The salesclerk acted like this was a completely unreasonable thing to say. The manager even stopped by and asked how I was doing, and when I told her this, she said snappily, "Well, you're a small size already, that's a tall order to ask for that much!" I wasn't asking for that much- I politely stated a few preferences that were pretty broad and generic. They didn't even bother showing me any of the shoes or accessories like I was told was part of the appointment. Additionally, when we were discussing order lead times on dresses, they seemed to treat me like some derelict bride for shopping "only" 5 months before my wedding! I just don't understand why there's a 4 month lead time on dresses that were mass-produced in a Chinese sweatshop, when I could get a designer one at Nordstrom for the same price and a 6 day lead time. The quality of the dresses was very poor for the price, too: crooked beads, loose threads, and cheap lace. Yet dresses I looked at elsewhere were far better made, but cost the same or less. I'm a pretty laid-back person who's not "into" the whole princess thing and am having a pretty simple wedding as a result. Most brides aren't like this, so if they acted as if I was being completely unreasonable, I have no idea how they'd treat a normal bride. They were equally ambivalent about the bridesmaid dresses, but we did find something that were suitable and affordable that worked for my junior and senior bridesmaids, which is how they earned their two stars. My bridesmaid in Massachusetts had a fine time picking hers up, but a clasp had to be sewn back on her dress an hour before the wedding. My bridemaids in New Jersey had a tough time buying and ordering their dress, but the alterations went fine, though they spent more on alterations than they did on the dress due to poor quality. My bridesmaid who had to use this particular location had a rough time picking up her dress, and called me from her alteration appointment worried that the seamstress would destroy the dress because she was so clueless, and ended up walking out and having alterations done elsewhere. Update: DO NOT GIVE DAVID'S BRIDAL YOUR REAL EMAIL OR PHONE NUMBER. Ever since I visited David's Bridal, I've been getting shady phone calls for DJ services, "free" cruises, and credit-card scams. Today I "said yes to the dress", thanks to Mia and Carlotta! This was my third visit to this shop, spaced out over the course of several months. Carlotta was the sales associate assigned to me on my first trip there, back in October 2014. My original appointment was for bridesmaid dresses only, but after quickly choosing a dress for the bridal party (I scoped them out ahead of time on the website), I wandered around and also found cute, coordinating flower girl dresses. Carlotta was great at explaining which dresses were available in which colors and fabrics, and was super laid back about me wandering around with no attempt to rush me around, or stand on my heels. Since we were making great progress, I decided to try on wedding gowns as well. Carlotta and the team were very accommodating, even though I had no formal appointment for this. I walked around, pulling dresses I liked, and was directed to a fitting room. At some point, a few other associates wandered over, including Mia, and a manager, whose name I don't recall. Mia sized up my figure and my likes/dislikes, and asked me to trust her. She returned a few minutes later, with a few dresses, all of which looked absolutely knockout on me. I'm very curvy, ranging from 18-22 depending on the manufacturer, so this is an accomplishment! One dress in particular I absolutely fell in love with. But it was my first time trying on gowns, and it was spur of the moment, so I wanted to see what else was out there. After a few months of visiting other bridal salons, taking care of other wedding-related stuff, and surviving the holidays, I finally returned today, with my mother, sister, and fiancée. My mother was looking for her mother-of-the-bride dress, and she is not an easy customer! She's very picky, and finds imaginary flaws in everything. Once again, Carlotta took my wacky family in her stride, and had nothing but positive energy, and patience in spades. My mother chose her dress in under a dozen tries, and then it was my turn! I showed Carlotta about 15 photos I had saved from the website, and she tracked down all the dresses they had in-store. I supplemented that with more picks from the rack, and then got down to business. Intermittently, Carlotta and other associates checked up on us, but it was never to give us the hard sell. They were genuinely interested in our progress and our happiness. I liked a lot of dresses, but none so much as the favorite from several months ago. Mia joined our party then. She remembered me from my past visit, and even remembered the dress! Unfortunately, she told me it had been discontinued- I was crushed! She assured me she would find me another dress I loved, and brought several more out. It became apparent that I wasn't going to love any of them the way I loved the discontinued gown. So Mia got on the phone with the warehouse and found out which sizes were left. The only viable option was two sizes too large- I was heartbroken again! So Mia went and found the alterations specialist to ask if it would be plausible to take the dress in that much. When the seamstress said it was definitely doable, I knew I had to have it! I just couldn't believe the lengths that Mia went to for me, or her incredible eye for silhouettes and styles that flattered me. And I greatly appreciated Carlotta's good will while I hemmed and hawed and was generally indecisive. All told, we spent over four hours in the store, and was never once made to feel like we should hurry it up. As Carlotta began my paperwork for the order, Mia explained the ritual of ringing the bell, and encouraged my fiancée and I to make a wish that we would reveal to each other on our wedding night. I went in to the appointment watching other women ring their bells and found it a little on the cheesy side, but when it was my turn... I was so happy I jumped for joy. Mia even let my sister video the entire thing, and took photos with us. I have read a lot of negative reviews on here, and I just don't get it. Okay, nobody fawns over you and gives you champagne, but the store is clean, and organized, and the sales associates are helpful, and work together as a real team. Yes, they leave you occasionally to help other brides, but I kind of liked that. I had my fiancée and sister helping me into and out of the dresses, instead of a stranger, and nobody stood over me, grilling me on what I thought of every single dress. Yes, the appointment goes a lot smoother if you do your homework beforehand, by making a profile on the website and saving some styles to your "favorites", so they can print it out and pull your dresses that way, but even if you don't, they'll work with you. The sample dresses were well-maintained, and they had a decent variety of plus sizes. I've also read negative feedback about the fact that they try to sell you veils, accessories, and gown preservation kits... Well... yeah, they are in the business of making money! This review is for a recent experience at the David's Bridal on Old Country Road, not too far from this address. It might be that the store moved, but I could not find a site for the one on Old Country Road. Pluses: The selection of dresses with respect to size was commendable, as dresses were available through size 28. Additionally, there were plenty of changing rooms for several parties. There was a range of bridal party dresses, suiting any number of eclectic tastes, which allowed for the bridal party to explore options. For the bride, it was a good opportunity to explore diverse styles and shapes which would be flattering and most fitting for the theme of the wedding. Minuses: The staff were unavailable and indiscrete. Specifically, they complained about the weight of plus sized dresses, and difficulty of dressing plus size women in the fitting area. This approach may be offensive, especially given the range of sizes that are available. The absence of personal attention suits some people, as it did for our group. However, on the rare occasions where some assistance would have been helpful (i.e., whether a given size or color of a dress was in stock), it was far easier and less frustrating to use my smart phone to go to the website and call the customer service line. Will see: having used the website to pre-identify bridal party dresses, and then deciding as a group on a specific style, alterations will be needed as time passes. It may be more cost effective to use an external tailoring service. read more

My experience at David's Bridal has surprisingly been the best experience I've had so far dress shopping (and I've been to many other stores and boutiques in LI/NYC). Mia and Carlotta were great to work with and they ACTUALLY listen to what you want. Every dress they brought me was better than the last. I would advise bride-to-be's to come check it out! They have a great selection and the prices are very reasonable. Be sure to make an appointment during the weekends and I'd suggest coming during off hours to get more attention from the stylists. read more

I can finally write a review about this place! I just celebrated my wedding on March 28th 2015, with 53 people in my bridal party! Thank the Lord, all went well with approx 1,000 persons in attendance. Due to the fact that members of our bridal party lived in various locations across the US, we decided to use Men's Wearhouse and Davids Bridal in lieu of a small wedding boutique for convenience and accessibility to all. I was a bit skeptical at first, especially when realizing that DB didn't have an online feature to permit clients to track the progress of their bridal party online like Men's Wearhouse does (e.g. when the dresses are ordered, expected arrival dates, etc). I downloaded their app and it was almost as bad as their website, if not, worst! With such a large group, I had to call each time I needed an update. Even further, DB's system does not differentiate categories of the bridal party... junior bridesmaids vs regular bridesmaids vs flower girls. So, each time I'd call, there'd be this long list of girls... and the representative assisting would need to go in and check each and every name individually. To top it off, we changed the date of the wedding to one week sooner than the original date submitted and needed to ensure that everything would be delivered in time. Many items came in very early. They worked with us for the remaining items. Each time I'd call, DB always remained professional and courteous... even if they had to go through the entire list of names for me, AGAIN (due to their system set up). In terms of the date change, they contacted their corporate office to ensure that everyone would receive their dresses and shawls on time, from our little girls to our oldest. Sure enough, everyone did! Overall, DB should definitely update their system and make it more client-friendly. The way it is currently is not only inconvenient to customers but to their staff. They shouldn't need to deal with that. I gave a 5 star rating, however, for the professionalism and helpfulness of the staff. They helped me keep track of my 53-member bridal party, even whilst everyone lived in different states. It wasn't an easy task but they really did great and helped make it easier on me as the bride. A few names that I could recall off the top of my head, Brian, Francois, Cindy, Yolanda... I think everyone on staff helped me at one point actually! Thanks DB!! read more

I really tried to have an open mind when I arrived for my appointment at on a Sunday morning. There was a line of people standing outside and once we went in I stood on line to wait to check in. I wasn't expecting high class service, I have been in this location before just browsing at dresses and I was told I couldn't look at the bridal gowns unless I had an appointment. A few months later, I decided to begin my wedding dress search at David's Bridal after looking at the Vera Wang dresses online. I chose this location specifically because I was given advice by a friend that the NYC location gets extremely busy. I live on Long Island and I pass by this location regularly. When I called to make an appointment, I was pleasantly surprised how professional and nice the man on the phone was. Apparently he was just a phone operator for the entire David's Bridal chain. I wish I was treated the way I was on the phone when I made my appointment. When I walked in, after giving my name, we waited for a few minutes to see a consultant. Standing around anxiously without being acknowledged, I checked with a girl walking by to make sure that they remembered that I was checked in because the workers were just standing around in a huddle. It didn't seem like they remembered I was there. I was given a quick response: "She'll be with you when she's ready." When I finally met my consultant, I was underwhelmed. While some associates seemed to put an effort into their appearance at work, my consultant looked as if she just rolled out of bed, not a stitch of makeup on. I tried not to let this sway me, but I feel in an industry where people are spending hundreds and thousands of dollars on beautiful dresses that you would put into some effort when you go to work. After my consultant meekly introduced herself, she asked my sizes, took the sheet of paper printed with my "favorites" from the website and walked away. She left me and my mother and my maid of honor without saying anything, didn't ask which style was my first choice, didn't ask a word about the time of day or where the wedding is taking place. I would think, as a bridal consultant, that the time of day and the location of the wedding would be something you would want to know when choosing a dress, considering that this can change the style of the dress completely. After pulling a few of my selections, I realized what I got myself into immediately. I passed on the used shoes she offered me, put on the dingy corset bra and as I lifted the dresses over my head, all I smelled was an overwhelming scent of body odor. I understand these are sample dresses, but I can't believe how badly each and every dress I tried on SMELLED. The specific dresses I came in to try didn't come in my size in a sample and my consultant didn't really offer me any alternatives or suggestions. My mother assisted me in trying on each dress, as my consultant didn't make much of an effort to help me in that sense either. When she did leave to get me a new dress, it took forever. I ended up walking around the store myself to find dresses to try on after waiting for her to come back with one or two selections from my list. I don't even know if I tried on the dresses from my "favorites" list, as I didn't see that list again after handing it over to her. My consultant was a nice woman but I don't feel she was helpful at all in my search for a dress. She didn't seem knowledgeable about the stock, didn't offer any suggestions for my body type, didn't really give an opinion either way. The one dress she did pull for me was the exact opposite of what I would have wanted - in fact, if she had even asked me what I liked/disliked she would know not to bring this dress. It pretty much summed up my experience at David's Bridal - she didn't care to know what I was looking for and it showed. After trying on dresses we went over to look at the bridesmaid dress colors. We asked to see samples of the colors and we were rudely told to "Look over there." I would not recommend David's Bridal to anyone. Although some of the dresses are on the lower priced end of the spectrum, you are still spending a lot of money and I feel they should employ people who are passionate about what they do and want to make your experience special. read more

I could not have asked for a more attentive and competent team of women to help me with one of the biggest fashion decisions of my life! Mia was so helpful with a serious dress SNAFU that came up- I won't bore with details, but her knowledge and expertise really saved the day! Devin is a real dynamo and Marie is as sweet and down to earth as they come. They also have a great selection in all price ranges. Ok, so going to DB's you're not going to have the same experience as going to a high-end bridal salon like Kleinfeld's. However, the ladies at the Carle Place DB's were very nice to me and my bridesmaids. They brought many dresses for us to try on in many different styles and sizes. I tried on a Vera Wang bridal gown and the zipper got stuck and all the ladies working that evening came around to try and help get me out of the dress! Eventually, they had to cut the defective zipper out. Aside from that snafu, it was a great experience and the staff were all very helpful. read more

I called this store today in search of a dress for my best friends wedding. They were able to pull up all the information regarding the style and color of dress she was requesting, however, the woman who answered the phone told me the dress is no longer available to be ordered. Upon further questioning about what my options were, her response was "I don't really know, I just walked in..." She was able to give me the number of a store in Florida that did have the dress and assured me there was nothing more she could do. I spoke to the associate in Florida store and the transaction went more than smoothly. She found, ordered, and confirmed the dress info in less than ten minutes. She even offered a discount to accommodate me for the incompetence of the Westbury store's associate, since I now had to guess at a dress size because I wouldn't be able to try the dress on. Thanks to the port orange, Florida store, my confidence in David's bridal has been renewed. Not impressed at all. I came to Davids Bridal on a Monday when I was off work to, and I went alone. My sisters and my mom live out of state/country, and I wanted to get an idea of the dresses I like the best- so that when they come visit and we go shopping, we wont waste time with the ones I don't like. I don't plan to buy my dress at Davids bridal- but I knew they had a large selection of styles and figured it was a good place to start. This review is more related to their customer service than the quality of their product. Immediately when i walked in, the girl at the desk asked (in a very snotty way) "may i ask why you are here alone?"... um... that is none of your damn business.. i told her my situation anyway and i guess she understood, but seriously... none of her business. She then made an announcement for the consultant to meet me at the desk... i waited for 10 min... and she had to call the consultant over the loud speaker AGAIN. When the woman got to the front of the store- she looked at me and rolled her eyes. I told her this was my first time trying on dresses and I was open to trying anything. I told her what styles caught my eye... and she ended up ONLY picking ones that I mentioned. I would have liked it if she had picked alternate styles-- cause you never really know what you'll like. We then started trying them on. It was like this woman did not speak. She barely said 3 words to me the entire time. she'd zip me up... open the door... watch me look at myself in the mirror and that was about it. There was ONE dress of the 6 that I tried on that I liked and she said she'd write it down for me... She wrote it down in their system... so even if i wanted the number on the dress I'd have to call and ask or go back in. The whole process took about 30 min and I was under the expectation that my appointment would be 90 min... i thought we were going to go back out and look at other dresses... but no. that was it. she helped me out of my last dress, and basically said good bye. Serves me right for going there on my own for the first experience. I am not tarnished by my experience, but just appalled that brides go here to have a wonderful, magical time... and the customer service is just truly atrocious. read more

I came in Friday afternoon with my best friend (bride) and the rest of her bridal party. After being at a stuffy salon in Manhasset this was a welcome spot. Mia, the manager, and Amy our stylist were absolutely amazing and made all of us, especially the bride, feel relaxed and have fun. There was no pressure and after being let down at the earlier salon (they had NO sizes) she was able to actually try on several styles and.... find her dress! David's Bridal has an iffy reputation but there's no reason for it. The dresses are beautiful, excellent quality, and affordable. Affordable does NOT mean cheap. The appointment for my sisters wedding dress was fine but LONG. The attendant left us alone to pick out and try on dresses. She came back for the important part. The "yes'. And then was gone again. Checking out was another long process. Our 11am appointment finally ended at 1:30. This new Davids Bridal is beautiful but under staffed and has poor customer service from on the phone to the appointment to checking out. Beautiful dress but a poor experience. read more

I made an appointment to try on dresses, not expecting much. I'd been to the store before and all over the website and while the prices were ok, most of the dresses were... not my style. However, my mom and sisters want to be part of the whole dress shopping experience so I made the appointment (it was close to their house). The initial service was impersonal, confusing and disorganized (.. and there were only a few customers in the store because of a snow storm..) I was pretty go with the flow since, again, I wasn't expecting much and they didn't provide much. However, my consultant Rebecca really made the experience! She was kind and attentive, to both my needs and my large family. She pulled dresses I had picked but also asked for concepts I was going for. She got it right on the first try! All of the other dresses I tried on didn't compare to the one Rebecca picked out (.. though it was, of course, more expensive than I was anticipating for a David's Bridal experience..but it was from the Vera Wang collection so I can't complain too much). It fit perfectly. Everyone loved it. There were tears. I haven't received the dress yet (only ordered it 2 weeks ago) but the veil and sash I was talked into ordering came. I'm recently engaged and I am not getting married until 2017. But I've been dying to try on dresses, so I scheduled an appointment with David's Bridal just for fun and I promised myself I wouldn't fall in love with anything and of course, I was wrong. I met with Rosie and I explained what I wanted. She brought me 3 dresses to try on and I really liked the third dress as did my sisters and mom. I was in it for 10 minutes, walking around the store and Rosie said she was going to pull another dress to see if she could top the one I had on. And guess what? SHE DID! I fell in love with the 4th dress I put on and I had on a veil and shoes, and the whole nine. Mia, the store manager was also with Rosie & I, and they both confirmed how beautiful I looked, and my Mom and sisters agreed. I decided I would sleep on it and come back the next week to see if I was still in love with it. I went back in on Tuesday and met with Rosie again and proceeded to try on 7 dresses (including my favorite and runner up) and my sisters, Mom, and Grandma and I came to the conclusion that the favorite from the prior week was still the favorite and I said yes to the dress! I know my wedding is 19 months out, but I really am in love with my dress. Both Mia and Rosie were personable, down to earth, and helpful. I know David's Bridal does not get the best rep, but all of the staff I came across here are nothing short of great and I am so, so happy with my experience. I will be sending my bridesmaids here and my mom will most likely be buying her dress here as well. Ask for Rosie when you book your appointment, she's amazing! I came here New Years Day and left with the perfect dress. My stylist was Marie, she was very attentive and great at her job. Within the hour of me being there she knew my style. She explained to me even if you not sure of the dress try it on anyway it may be "the one". After trying on 12 dresses she was absolutely correct. One of the managers Brian, he was very patient and helpful too, his insight was wonderful. I'm returning to get my bridesmaid dresses. Their service was exceptional! I was nervous at first after reading some poor reviews on this site, but I was so impressed with Carlotta and my whole experience at David's Bridal. I brought about 7 print outs with me of dresses from their website and Carlotta was able to pull each one for me without a problem. She even pulled some others she thought I would like. I ended up choosing the first dress I tried on (how cliche!). They had a cute little ceremony at the end where they had me make a wish and ring a bell if I wanted to say yes to the dress. It had me, my mom, my grandma, and my future mother in law in tears! Happy tears, of course. Carlotta and the store manager were both so sweet and accommodating. The place looks so much better but I hope the service could be a little more professional but it comes with the range of prices David's Bridal offers. I recently got engaged and looked at dresses on David's Bridal. I fell in love with an Oleg Cassani tulle dress with gold lace, but the only places they had this dress were in NY, PA, or TX-- meanwhile I am from outside New Haven, CT. I went to a David's Bridal in Orange, CT to get my size and did not have a great experience. This was not because of any of the consultants, but rather my own stress and body self-consciousness. After I left that store, I resolved not to go bridal shopping again for at least 2 months. But this dress was something I could not get out of my mind, so I looked into the NY location and found it was only 90 mins away. I booked an appointment on Friday for the following Sunday, giving them the style number of the dress and asking if they could hold the dress for me. Unfortunately they could not, and I would just have to hope it was there on Sunday. I called ahead on Sunday to make sure that the dress was still available, otherwise I would just cancel my appointment. They assured me the dress was still there and that they had pulled it and had it help for me for my appointment that day. When I arrived at the store, they knew exactly who I was and were saying things like, "Katie is here!" and introducing me to the consultants in the store who I had previously talked to on the phone. I worked with Marie and Sabrina, and Marie was able to look at me and immediately knew my undergarment size-- I was impressed. Sabrina stood outside my dressing room and checked in with me every few minutes to see if I was ok getting into the undergarments and the dress. I was able to get into everything but needed help zipping up the dress, so Sabrina stepped right in to help. I knew immediately this was my dress, and when I stepped out to show my mo, she did too. Maria and Sabrina were amazing at their job, did not over step their bounds but made you feel like they already knew you moments after entering the store. They were super polite yet could also be funny and laugh with me during the appointment. They knew my likes and dislikes. We did all of this in about 20 minutes in a 890 minute appointment, so we opted to have me put in a similar dress to see if I was really sure about my original choice. They chose a beautiful dress that was similar yet different to my #1 choice, and that made me happy that they clearly knew the store, their stock, and their client. Marie even was able to order me a skirt slip that was "less poofy" because she knew I didn't want to overcome by this dress. I had a truly lovely experience at this store. The staff is awesome, personable, and they know their stuff, plus there looked to be a very large selection of gowns. I am a very low-maintenance bride-to-be, and I know that not everyone is that way. I am not having a wedding that is costing $100k and I am not hell-bent on being the center of attention or a total drama-queen over finding the perfect dress. I have worked in customer service before, and I know what you can get when you have a strong staff working with level-headed customers. I can only imagine how hard their job is when egos get involved, but knowing how good these people are at what they do makes this a really wonderful place to find your dress. 5 stars all around! read more

I hate this place with a passion. I remember shopping for prom dresses here back when it was on Glen Cove Rd, and having pissy store clerks. So, I had the misfortune of being a bridesmaid and having to get my dress here. It took the clerk about a half hour to find it, after her repeatedly asking me what the item # was! When I finally got my dress, they never checked back about the fit, etc.... So, I had to order the dress and was told I would be contacted when it was ready. After 4 months of hearing nothing from them, I got a message on my machine saying that if I didn't pick up the dress, that I would no longer receive it (I PAID FOR IT ALREADY!!!!!!!!). So, I went in to get the dress. I told the clerk about the message and how nobody called me to tell me it was ready and she said sarcastically, "Oh, what a travesty!" It took all my might not to cause a scene, but I needed the stupid dress. I tried to complain online, but guess what? They have no customer service info on their website. Not only did the woman working with me select horrible dresses for my figure (and I was VERY open and reliant on her to choose the best style for me), David's Bridal and their "partners" have been CALLING, E-MAILING, AND SENDING ME SNAIL MAIL NON-STOP. They should be ashamed of themselves for selling their customer's information to a majority of these companies with questionable promotions and business practices. I ordered my dress from David's Bridal in Manhattan but went to the Westbury location for my alterations as my parents live on Long Island. Now I'm not saying that David's Bridal Manhattan had the most amazing service in the world (in fact, my friend literally had to go searching for someone to come back and assist us after I was handed dresses to try on), but THIS place is seriously an abomination. Customer service is not even EXISTENT -- the people working here are straight up RUDE and have no interest whatsoever in helping you with anything. When I inquired about ordering a pair of shoes, before she even looked anything up the woman told me it would take a really long time to arrive so I might not want to consider it. I left my mother to deal with her and MIRACLE OF MIRACLES, by the time we were ready to leave from my fitting (about an hour later), she was able to find the pair at a nearby store... and it would take a week to ship to me. The alteration staff were a bit nicer, but they too were unwilling to do much in the way of customer service. When I asked if the dress could be placed in a garment bag rather than sheer plastic when I picked it up I was told that this was their "policy." Any store rep who gives me BS about policy -- especially one as stupid as this -- makes me want to completely lose my mind. And then you try to tell me that David's Bridal trains all it's employees to do "everything you can for the customer?" If you gave an eff about the customer, you'd know that that "policy" makes absolutely no sense. I'm just hoping this is really one of my last interactions with the people in this store. read more

After getting a bridesmaid's dress from this store, I would never go back. I live in CT and my bride lkives in NY and got her wdding dress here. The good things is that she had quite a few out of state bridesmaids and each of them was able to get the dress at their closest location, so that was a plus. However, after trying on a few dresses (which were all verry pretty) we finally selected one. We were told it would take 12 weeks to come in, and I had planned on ordering it at the store in CT so that I could have the fittings close by. They put the bride in such a panic, that in order to put her mind at ease, I ordered the dress in the NY store and agreed to come down again for a fitting. Lo and behold only 10 days later my dress was in, and instead of calling me, they called the bride EVERY DAY to tell her that I better come pick it up or they would send it back. I was assuming like most bridal places, they would hold onto the dress until the fitting. I was wrong. I couldn't believe that would bother the BRIDE, who already had so much on her mind, that I called and asked them if they could just send it to the store here in CT so that I could pick it up rather than having to drive back and forth to NY. Of course, they refused, but did offer to ship it to my home for an additional $25. I couldn't believe it. I asked them why they would have allowed me to buy it in NY, knowing that it would be in so quickly and then not allow it to be transferred to a more convenient location. Nobody could provide me with an answer. In addition, they wouldn't even hold onto the BRIDE's dress, which also came in within 3 weeks. Who wants their WHITE bridal gown hanging around in their house for 6 months and driving back and forth to get fittings. To me, they seem like they are all about getting your money and getting your dress out of their store as soon as possible. If you are getting married in a month, then go here! As for the service, the woman who helped the bride on the first day volunteered to come in a little early to help her select the bridesmaids dresses and flower girl dresses as well. Of course, on the day of our appointment to do so, she was not there. I really also think that their habit of harassing the bride is just disgusting. They called the bride EVERY single day to tell her which one of the bridesmaids hadn't picked up their dress, without even contacting the bridesmaids themselves. All that serves to do is stress the poor bride out during the time when she is supposed to be enjoying herself. I found that to be most offensive. read more

This is the feedback I wrote to their Customer Service: I want to provide some feedback about my experience at the David's Bridal in Westbury, Long Island. I made an appointment in the beginning of January for January 26th for both me and my 5 bridesmaids. Previous to this appointment I did call up cause I heard that there was a limit to how many people you can bring with you to your appointment. So I called up the store and the representative who answered as totally uninterested in answering the phone. She did not greet with her name as well. I asked my question and explained that I had an appointment for myself and my bridesmaids immediately following mine. I asked if it would be a problem that I had 6 people with me. The representative responded with "uhhhh, no? Are you really asking that?" I responded back "Yes, thanks for your uninterested tone and your answer" and hung up. On January 26th, I get to my appointment early with my bridesmaids. I check in, am told to wait for a rep to help me. So, I wonder around the store until my name is called. My name is called, I walk over and I'm greeted by Marie. She has all my "favorites" that I had liked on the website. There were a few more dresses that I liked from looking around the store and asked if I could try those on as well. When she goes and "shops" my dresses, I asked her if she brought the other dresses I wanted to try, she looked at me like I never asked her to do it and looked rather annoyed that she had to go back and get the dresses. My appointment goes on, try on about 16 dresses, and went with the first one I tried on. As I was trying on dresses, Marie placed a tiara on my head as well as a veil, to show "the look", which was nice. So lets fast forward to when I was checking out. I go to the register and I know how much the dress is, after all discounts and before tax. At one point the price of $1652.89 flashes on the screen, which is NO where near the amount of money that I was expecting to pay, and I asked the cashier to tell me what I'm being charged for. I can see my bill on the counter and I see "veil." I told the cashier to take the veil off. So she takes off the veil and I asked what else was on that bill. She looked at me and said "well, it looks like you order a veil and tiara." I did not ask for either of those so I told her to take them off. So she says to me "you really want me to take them off?" I said "Yes, because I didn't ask for them and I did not like those pieces. And I would like you to tell me what else is on that bill that I did not ask to be on there." Cashier says "you ordered a slip and bra, and a preservation kit as well." I did NOT ask for any of this and I told the cashier "I just want to pay for my DRESS and ONLY my dress." Cashier gives me a HUGE problem about this and started to slam on her keyboard as she removes said items from my bill and tells me that "I should really buy the suggested items." First of all, I did not go in here to by a bra or a veil. I was not asked if I wanted these items, they were added on to my bill without my consent and it was very annoying I had to deal with questioning that I did not want said items. We spent ALOT of money in that store that day. Four of my bridesmaids bought their dresses and I purchased mine as well. I will NOT be doing my alterations with David's Bridal. And I know I will have to get alterations cause my rep ordered my dress size too big, which was entirely on purpose. The sample that I tried on fit me PERFECT. All in all, I really wish this could have been a better situation. I am not looking forward to having to pick up my dress and it being too big. If it is, I will be having it sent back and demanding the proper size. Needless to say, it wasn't anything special. Go in with intentions of what you want, don't expect the best service, place was pretty clean, dresses were clean, it was spacious to an extent. But it is again, your normal bridal retail environment. Please double check your bills. read more

If you're looking for tons of personal attention (unlike myself) this is not the spot. They bring you the dresses you pick out and let you put them on and do your little fashion show. The quality of the dresses are not that great though. I went here first to try stuff on and liked one of the dresses but then when i went to a real mom & pop bridal store and tried on non-mass-produced dresses I could really tell the difference. I do have to say though that the girl who helped me was very nice and even called me a month later to see how I did on my dress hunt. When i told her I had found my dress somewhere else she was very cordial and wished me the best of luck. If youre in a super rush or on a super tight budget i would suggest davids....otherwise go to a mom n pop read more

I've gone to David's Bridal 3 times in the last four weeks. The first time I came in was to buy my wedding dress and I had a FANTASTIC experience. I was a few minutes late for my appointment but the person handling the front desk was very accommodating and got me and my family in right away. CINDY was and still is my favorite person in the store. She listened and understood exactly what I was looking for. I tried on a total of 5 dresses but had already found the perfect one by dress 3. Cindy was an absolute sweetheart, running around the store finding a veil and getting the alterations manager to give me an idea of what would need to be done. Cindy is my absolute favorite! I also visited RK Bridal before coming to David's and it doesn't begin to compare. Everyone at David's is very friendly! read more

This place was an absolute zoo on a Saturday morning a few months before wedding and prom season, but I got away relatively unscathed - and with a pretty sweet bridesmaid dress that was shipped to my house in Connecticut for free. While we had to wait a long time in line and even longer after that for the staff to get our orders processed, the experience of picking out the dress and getting it delivered to me wasn't bad at all. I would definitely recommend coming in prepared like our bride - she picked out a color and fabric for the bridesmaid dresses, and the staff had a bunch of dresses that came in that color and fabric pulled for us to try on. We had a small dressing room to ourselves to keep our stuff and try our dresses on, and we were able to pick a dress pretty quickly. There were some issues with some dresses not coming in all sizes, but it all worked out in the end, and I think we all looked great at the actual wedding this past weekend. We went to David's Bridal because we figured it'd be the best place to find a fairly inexpensive bridesmaid dress, and that's what we got. Our bride also brought a coupon from a wedding website that I think got us 5-10% off. Shipping is normally an extra charge, but because I was the only out-of-state bridesmaid who wouldn't be picking up my dress from the store, one of the managers was nice enough to tell the girl at the register to ship the dress to me for free. I wouldn't expect one-on-one service or anything like that from a David's Bridal - just a no-frills way to find a dress that works without breaking the bank. read more

The staff couldn't be more miserable and the dresses are horrendous. Awful experience

My first time looking for bridal dresses and my experience was not good. Cindy looked at me. I mentioned I don't live in the US and I'll be back at a later date for my final fitting and right away she was like "oh you need something right off the rack" then I mentioned I wanted the mermaid style and she said we have nothing like that in this store and I showed her the pic for what I was looking for & this is within a minute of meeting her, she told me I should try kleinfeld or bridal reflections. Anyways I saw a dress and wanted to try it on, she said they don't have my size in it ( instead of letting me try on a size bigger and clip it up) I made my appointment and didn't realize Cindy would be looking at about 3 other persons with me as well, she kept leaving to attend to someone else. So while she was attending to someone else I went to the front to find out if they have catalogs and when I came back Cindy said "you know, if you're not comfortable with me, you can see someone else"... I had to tell her I went to find out if there are catalogs. She's the worst sales person ever! My first minute of her looking at me, she sent me to other bridal stores, told me there's no styles like that in the store, didn't had my size and I'm a size 8 btw! I purchased a bridesmaid dress with Sale associate Cindy in the Westbury location. Cindy was horrible she was no help what so ever. The bridesmaid's where looking for her during our appointment in which we were unable to locate her she went MIA. However I went back to David bridal and met Rosie who was amazing she had patience of a sanit. She's pull all the dresses that was available and help me try one over 6 dresses. In which I purchase one of the dress thanks to Rosie. I will recommend anyone to make an appointment with Rosie not Cindy who made us feel unwanted. read more

This place is the worst. My Fiance got her dress from there and right from the start it was a customer service nightmare. They were unhelpful when they were around, and when it came time to order the dress they told her she was not an 8 she was a 10 and "all brides think they're going to lose weight" Really?! The dress was tremendous on her there was literally 8 inches of room between her chest and the top of the dress. Obviously they were looking to sell her a size larger so they could rake in the money for the fitting which is outlandish, it would have costed more then the dress, which is understandable but not when you scam someone into buying a giant dress.
