My family and I had such a lovely time here - it's a small store that only takes one appointment at a time, and Tami really took the time to figure out what I like in a dress and took it all into account when finding new dresses for me to try on. Where do I even begin with this place? First off, for all my brides to be, PLEASE check this store out! I made an appt here this past Sunday and I walked out the store with my wedding dress!! Yes ladies, I said yes to the dress that quickly. It was my first time even browsing for dresses and this was the first place I started. The ladies that work here are absolutely wonderful. You are warmly greeted! They have tons of dresses to choose from, amazing designers and a lot of "one of a kind pieces", I was able to say yes to a one of a kind dress. Before even trying it on, I knew it was for me and so did the ladies at the store. I tried on a few other dresses and they were all so gorgeous! They made my experience so smooth, fun, stress free! I got my wedding dress and accessories all in one shot. I am telling you ladies, wedding planning is not the easiest but you can make your dress shopping stress free by coming here. My friend and I came here to look around and see what dresses they had and if we would be able to find her dress. We did walk in without an appointment however we were still able to be seen and fully accommodated. Ana was so helpful and patient with us as she helped my friend and gave her gentle opinion, she also moved this large mirror so that we could get a better view of the back of the dress now let me tell you the lighting in this place is great. My friend tried on a few dresses and Ana also gave us a run down on vails. Although my friend did not find her dress here I will say they had many dress options and the dresses were not run down they all are stored well and still have the shape and the original look to them. Wow! I walked into the Bridal World feeling completely defeated by a not so great appointment at a different store. Within seconds, Ali made me feel comfortable and beautiful and turned my whole day around! Ali had taken a look at the profile I created online and had a sense of what I was looking for without even having to explain. She was able to pull so many dresses that fit my budget and were along the lines of what I had envisioned. Ali was patient, caring, and so helpful. It was so great to be able to look at the dresses she had in store, rather than shop blindly with a consultant pulling options. I wish I could say I had a great experience here but unfortunately that was not the case. I ordered my dress and specifically asked if they could make sure they ordered one as close to my size as possible so I didn't have tons of alterations. When my dress arrived it was HUGE on me. Enough that they were able to clip the whole back like it was a sample size. I called and asked them to help me and they said there was absolutely nothing they can do except make alterations. I expressed concerns that the more alterations the more expensive it would be. The owner Tammy said no matter how little or how many alterations it's a FIXED PRICE of $450. I agreed and felt better. I asked if I could get alterations earlier than 2 months before because of my concerns(my dress is very intricate) and Tammy is so rude she laughed in my face and said that my wedding wasn't for months and I didn't need them. Luckily the seamstress was very nice and said she would do it earlier for me. When time came around for alterations, she charged me $500. When I reminded her about our previous conversation (which I had 3 witnesses to) she denied ever saying that to me and again said there was nothing she could do. She was so rude to me throughout my entire experience. She really ruined the experience of dress shopping. I should have been excited but instead I would dread going to her shop. Every single time I went in, Tammy was on the phone with another bride telling them "sorry there's nothing I can do" so there must be other girls complaining too. An experience that was ruined for me and I'll never get back. Think twice before coming here...the owner is so rude and only cares about money. She doesn't care about her brides. read more

The bridal world is great. I bought my wedding dress and two veils from here and they are so friendly and helpful and do a great job with the alterations. My dress was absolutely stunning. Everyone thought it was an $8,000 dress and the price was no where near that. Prices are so reasonable, dresses are so gorgeous and amazing quality. I came here with my sister because she is planning to get married next year. It was our first time going dress shopping. They were willing to fit us in for an appt. even though we hadn't schedule one prior to us coming in. The women who greeted us were very nice and welcoming. The young lady who attended to my sister and helped her select her gowns was great. We really appreciated how she didn't impose or come on too strong, which has been our experience in other places. She found gowns that fit exactly what my sister was aiming for and then helped her try them on. She didn't tell her "oh that looks great" or "that looks bad" which can be annoying, she did point out the differences in each gown from the one prior and how that compared to the description my sister gave her originally. It was helpful and again, didn't stress us out or make her feel self conscious. We really liked her. The gown selection at Bridal world is pretty decent. They have an absolutely beautiful array of gowns and accessories. The boutique itself is very beautiful. They have a soothing periwinkle blue paint interior, elegant couches and cool barn sliding doors that lead into the dressing rooms. They can see what looks like two clients and heir families, at a time; thats another plus. There isn't a crowd of spectators critiquing the brides to be. I was so thankful this was my sisters first experience wedding dress shopping because Bridal World made it great for her. I came in with a friend who was wedding dress shopping and I am writing this review on her behalf. The bride to be loved this place and actually purchased her dress from here! She fell in love with the dress options and how genuine the staff was. Our booked appointment went smoothly with Allie assisting us. Allie offered water, comfortable seating, and multiple dress/veil options. It was nice to have someone accommodating helping the bride to be. What we loved most about this place was that Allie and the staff made us feel comfortable and not overwhelmed. This boutique is a local gem, and I have nothing but WONDERFUL  things to say about it. First I must say that if you are looking for a place that makes you feel like and takes care of you like  you're their own daughter COME HERE. I started the search for my gown at the beginning of January, it was easy to make an appointment and they call to confirm and ask you if you have any questions. My appointment was with PAULETTE and I would recommend her 1000x over. She had such a light and happy spirit and made looking for my gown so much fun. She interacted with my aunts and mother like she was one of them, taking in their opinions and pulling gowns that blended everything we were looking for in a dress. I have to say, I found a BEAUTIFUL GORGEOUS AMAZING  gown, but because it was my first store I didn't want to commit. After searching I still was in love with the dress from Bridal World, and I called to make an appointment to see if I could try it on again.  I came in and Paulette put me back into the gown, the seamstress and owner even came to help with my appointment and answer questions. Once again great service, knowledgeable staff, and warm caring atmosphere. I still had one appointment in the city so I didn't get the dress that night, not once did I feel pressured to make a purchase, only encouraged to pick the perfect dress for me. I ended up finding my dress in the city, but on my way home my mom and I said how we felt a little sad that we didn't get the dress from Paulette just because we just loved our experience there,  if only they had the dress I ended up with in Freeport! Absolutely Amazing Experience! My mother, sister and I were hanging out one Saturday and we decided to look for dresses, styles, etc. We had no intention to buy my dress so far in advance however, we were pleasantly wrong! We were met by Paulette, the saleswoman. Paulette was warm and showed a genuine interest in the style/ vision I had for my wedding day. She pulled a dress and I tried it on. Immediately, I knew it was the dress for me. (I know it sounds cliche) Despite me knowing I tried on only two other dresses. Paulette was attentive and extremely knowledgeable. I decided to purchase the first dress. Eleven months after I came in for my dress fitting. We met Francois, the seamstress. Francois, like Paulette was amazing! I can't begin to explain how doting she was. She made the most amazing bustle. Francois, assisted me by dressing me the day of the wedding. People just don't do lovely things like that! I went to bridal world to have a bridesmaid dress altered. I didn't purchase the dress here but it was a local establishment. Well, let me tell you, if you are a plus sized girl, this is NOT the place for you. From the moment I walked in, the owner was cold. It was clear she did not want to deal with some fat girl. I had to get the dress taken in about 3 sizes because I purchased it a little too big (thought bridal sizing) and lost a little weight. Well, when I tried the dress on and she realized it was a little big, she was LESS obnoxious. The rest of the staff was LOVELY. My friend who is slim, had a different experience where she was treated like a human by the owner. Anyway, I am SO glad I went to the Curvy Bride in NJ for my own wedding dress. If I would have gone to this place for my own, I don't think I would have even worn a wedding dress. I will not be back here. read more

As a new bride with a wedding only 8 months away, I reached out to Bridal World for an appointment. Jennifer was able to secure a 4:30pm appointment for me. Conversation went well and she explained that I needed to provide my credit card information in the event that I do not show up for my appointment there would be a $50 fee. I understood and furnished the required information since I knew for sure I was excited to find a dress for my upcoming big day. On the day of my appointment I arrived 20 minutes earlier and was greeted by Jennifer who was not as friendly as she was on the phone. She asked how could she help me and if I had an appointment. I said yes and she replied in a condescending voice well you are too early. I apologized and told her that I was traveling from another town which was 30 minutes away and I was afraid to be late which is why I made an effort to arrive early but I didn't mind to wait in my car until the appointment time. She quickly noticed that I became uneasy and said no it's ok you can grab a seat on the couch and I'll be right there with you. Meanwhile, she began to ask me questions pertaining to the style of the dress I was looking for, when and where was the wedding going to take place and finally what was my budget. I told her that my budget was $1,500. She explained that she did not have any dress in my budget and every dresses were at least $1600 and up. I said oh ok, not knowing what she wanted me to do with that response because in my mind I was still expecting for me to try on dresses that were close to my budget in hopes of me finding my dream dress. Instead she suggested that it was not a good idea for us to waste our time and continue since she didn't have any dresses that could accommodate my budget. As she continued her spill on what I could and couldn't afford, she showed me one dress and asked if I liked that style. Once I replied yes she showed me the price tag which was around $1600. She told me you see all of my dresses are around this price so I don't know if you really want to keep on looking because I would hate for us to waste our time since your budget is low. Bottom line is Jennifer was very unprofessional. It should've been my decision to decide if I did not want to continue with my appointment due to the price tags instead of being persuaded and indirectly told it was a waste of time of me even showing up. I felt really embarrassed and uncomfortable. I immediately thanked her and proceeded to leave. Jennifer apologized with the most insincerity. And after a mere 10 minutes, I regretted even wasting my time booking an appointment with this small "family" boutique in the first place. For a business that's been in service for 20 years, I expected so much better. The price tag was never the issue but the low tier customer service I received was the real problem. read more

I had a very difficult time shopping for my dream wedding dress and visited 11 boutiques/stores, some several times. The Bridal World was THE BEST one. Not only was I warmly welcomed as a walk-in, but the dresses I tried on were beautiful. As far as price ranges go, I wanted to keep it low, and Ronnie pulled several beautiful selections that were great options for me. At other salons I felt pressure to buy, customer service was poor (and I am pretty easy to please with that) and some attendants either told me I was being too specific or tried to get me out of my price range. At The Bridal World I felt very relaxed and like I was being treated like a person rather than a sale. I felt like Ronnie actually cared that I got the right dress for me. Today was the 1st day of wedding dress shopping for my daughter. When I called a few weeks ago to see if they had the dress she wanted to try on I knew this was the place I wanted her to try on dresses. Stephanie answered all my questions over the phone and then some. My daughter lives in P.A. so I booked the appointment last minute for today. From the second we walked through the door Stephanie and Ronnie were amazing. They made my daughter feel so comfortable and enjoy this experience to the fullest. I went to bridal world on a whim. I figured why not give a local business a chance. The staff was kind even though I did not have an appointment. The location is small but and the selection is limited but the staff is very communicative and goal focused. if you tell them what you want they will find it for you or give you the option to order it. Integrity is important to me. The did not tell me just what I wanted to hear. If they didn't carry a certain line they just told me. I appreciate that kind of business. I had a lot of fun with the ladies there. Stephanie is very kind and patient and she does not over step. I bought my dress here. The dress price was very fair and they are willing to work payment plans with you after the down payment. As any bride planning a wedding knows, payment plans are a God send. If I could give this place no stars I would. I ordered my dress in January of 2017 and was told it would be in for me to pick up in June. I called in June and then was told that they postponed the order because my wedding was further out (March 2018) and denied ever telling me June. I was then told it would be in early July. I called again still not dress. I waited another two months and called in September, still nothing but this time they gave me a date of October 13th. I called October 13th and the woman told me "oh no one called you? We got your dress in a few days ago" So now October, 10 months since ordering the dress, I go in to try it on. The dress is too small. When ordering the dress the owner advised me to order a size down (I was in between sizes) because of the way the dress fits. I thought this was a bad move but what do I know? I trusted the owner. Now I was four and a half months way from my wedding with no dress. It was a brides worst nightmare. When the dress did not fit the owner denied ever telling me to order that size and basically told me I gained weight and thats why it did not fit, when in reality I actually lost weight due to my wedding diet and working out. This was extremely rude. You never ever tell a customer they gained weight. Not owning up for their own mistake I am leaving the store without the dress and they have the nerve to ask me to pay the remainder since I had only paid a deposit. Of course I refused. They told me I would not be refunded the deposit even though they messed up big time which they still denied. Thankfully there are multiple attorneys in my family and after a few days and it coming to the point of threatening legal action I got my refund. They also gave the refund on the condition I wouldn't write this review. But there was no non-disclosure agreement or any thing legally binding me to stay quiet. I needed to write this to inform other brides. No bride should ever feel the way I felt due to how I was treated by these women. Whenever I see people asking about this shop in any bridal groups on facebook I make sure to tell them my story. I also know many other girls with similar experiences. I had an amazing experience here at The Bridal World. It was my second time shopping for a bridal gown and I wasn't expecting to purchase a gown at all today. I called ahead to see if they can squeeze me in for a a last minute same-day appointment, at first she told me I could come in at around 2:30pm (which would be in approximately 2 hrs from the time I called), and then she called me back and asked if I could come in sooner; Perfect! The store is a decent size (much smaller than a Davids Bridal), yet comfortable and is very beautiful. I was so lucky because I was the only bride/ consumer in the store my entire time shopping. Roni, whom appeared to be the manager was very helpful and would suggest different gowns and styles for me to try on. Stephanie whom was the sales associate was so patient and attentive, I felt like I tried on almost every gown in the store and not once did she make me feel like I was annoyed with my indecisiveness. When I asked, she gave me her honest opinions and I really appreciated that. The store itself has a very vast and beautiful selection of all bridal gowns and styles at a reasonable price selection. I was able to try on beautifully stunning gowns in my less than $2,000 budget. I was able to say "yes to the dress" and I am so happy and grateful to Roni and Stephanie. Thank you Bridal World. After visiting few dress places and tons of dresses liked on Pinterest, I was determined to find my dress this week. My friend told me about Bridal World in Freeport and I had the best experience ever! The store was beautiful, music was great, dresses displayed were all unique styles I havent seen and the overall vibe was amazing!! The lovely owner, Tami, helped me explore all the styles i wanted to try on while adding fun cap sleeves and different veil styles along with it. I eyed a dress in the window from the parking lot and fell in love, but had a hesitation because I had a final dress appt that had great variety and reviews. Next day, i went to that final dress store in hopes i would find something that would amount to the one i tried on at bridal world. The experience was ehhhh and i hated every style my dress consultant picked out. The dresses were dirty and the drive from Long Island was dreadful. After trying on 6 dresses, i was honest in telling the lady helping me that i found my dress already and had to leave. I called Tami on the way to bridal world and she waited 2 hours for me!!!! She had the dress ready and even had a little gift for me! I later saw a picture of her and her husband on her wedding day along with other generations in her family. Knowing that i had supported a family business , especially during this time ,further made me feel like i truly did make the right decision! Ronnie has a great eye and after showing her a few pictures of the style I liked, she helped me pick out the most gorgeous dresses. Every single one I tried on was gorgeous and exactly the style I was looking for. I never felt rushed or pressured. They were all incredibly patient and stayed open past closing time so that I could find the right dress. Hannah who is the seamstress helped me visualize how she could tailor each dress to be exactly what I wanted. The first thing that put a bad taste in my mouth was that Roni, the owner, would not tell me what dress I was buying until the transaction was finished. I'm sorry but I am spending a whole lot on something and I would like to know what I am buying. Then comes the call I got. I do not live in long island, was just out there 2 days prior because my dress came in and I get a call that I have 24 hours to come pick up my dress because they are moving. Really? I was just there 2 days ago, no one told me they were moving in 2 days, my wedding was 6 months away, I live with my fiancé and now I need to drive 2 hours out there to pick up my dress to bring home? I asked why they weren't taking the dress with them and was rudely told that it was in my best interest to come and pick up my dress. Yes because every bride wants their bridal shop to make them feel like something is wrong with their wedding dress. How unprofessional can we be. So, I had to change my plans to go out there and pick up my dress. Now to the next. I made my appointment to bring my dress back in to the new location to get altered. Not only was the owner rude when I got there but we waited for almost 45 minutes after my appointment was to start to be asked to leave and come back at a later time. Remind you I do not live in the area and have nowhere to go in the interim. My mom, sister and I come back a couple hours later, do my fist fitting and are told that my alterations of taking it in an inch, sewing crinoline in the bottom, the 4 button bustle and sewing the bra I previously bought somewhere else was going to cost $450 (which didn't include the crinoline that was an extra $100) I was livid. When I bought the dress the owner told me there was a $400 cap on alterations and the top end was for major alterations. When I asked for a cost breakdown Roni and the seamstress huffed and puffed and rolled their eyes at me. After a long drawn out argument they finally took some money off. Obviously the alterations were not that costly. The next fitting I went into the bra was botched making the dress pull in at my bustling and instead of fixing it properly the seamstress cut it out and told me not to wear a bra. Now I am not small chested and NEED a bra. A week before my wedding I had my final fitting scheduled and received a voice message from the owner that when I came in the next day I would not be able to try my dress on I needed to come in, take it and leave. This is not ok. Once again I was pissed. I called back 5 times and was told the owner was not available and the girl didn't know what was going on. I called back later and finally got the owner who then told me there would be no room for me they overbooked. A week before my wedding on my final fitting!! I told her there was no way I was walking out of that shop without trying my dress on. So I got to share a dressing room with another bride... fun. Now on to the best part. My crinoline that ended up costing my $200 to have sewn in didn't last until the reception and my bustle yeah that lasted until after the first dance. My maîtred spent most of the night under my dress with safety pins trying to pin it all back together. So yeah I would never recommend Bridal World, Roni (the owner) or their seamstress EVER. read more

While visiting my family here in NY with the purpose of trying on wedding dresses we made an appointment at the bridal world and were not let down. I met with Stephanie who did an outstanding job! She listened to what I wanted and was never overwhelming or pushy like I'd experienced in other salons. She asked what I was interested in, what my budget was and pulled some dresses for me, allowing me to browse and pull a few too. After trying on a handful that were gorgeous but just not exactly it, she pulled one for me and advised me it was just slightly over budget by $200. Well worth the extra few hundred bc it's the dress I purchased and can't wait to come in for my first fitting! Because I in Louisiana currently and my fiancé will be receiving new marching orders in February, Stephanie assured me not to worry about multiple fittings, that we can work with their seamstress over a 1 week visit. Had such a nice experience and highly recommend an appointment with Stephanie she was such a sweetheart!! read more

Received a rather cold welcome when I walked through the door for my appointment here. However, the woman helping me was very sweet and went above and beyond for me. The other women working at the time were not so sweet and made me rather uncomfortable by the faces they were making at me while I tried on gowns. Even my friend who I brought with me noticed this as well, so I know I was not imagining it. For that reason I would not return here. It's a shame how the poor attitudes of some of the employees can affect the experience, but it really affects how the bride feels. read more
