Thanks to COVID I had to re-plan my wedding and only had 6 weeks to find, order and alter a new dress. Let me start by saying that everyone there was really nice, but I can't say enough good things about my consultant Genevieve. She was patient and understanding, she took the extra effort to look up the arrival date for every dress I liked to see if I could arrive in time, she was mindful of my budget, she helped me see the vision of the changes I wanted made to my dress and she did it all while working behind a mask and with gloves on. But when I went to David's Bridal, these ladies welcome you warmly and are so eager to assist you. They're not pushy, they give you time to breathe, think and look yourself over. So, to set the scene: it was my very first time trying on wedding dresses. I took my mom and my future mother-in-law with me. I was so nervous! Then, Reina, a wonderful human being, came and swooped me up and made me feel like the bride I always wanted to be! She helped me find dresses and styles that I never would have tried. Whenever I tried a dress, she would have me rate it. One dress I tried on, I told her I felt it was an 8.5 on me, and that I really liked it. Reina then tried to find the right size of that dress, and I was eager to try it on! Soon, she came back and told me that there was no smaller size in the style I wanted, BUT could get me a similar style dress. I resoundingly said yes, since she obviously had great taste!! A few moments later, Reina comes back with this dress that is completely opposite of what I thought I had wanted (emphasis on thought). She asked me if I wanted to wear it, even if it wasn't my style, so she could get the measurements. Of course, I tried it on, and WOW!! I looked and felt BEAUTIFUL! It was simple yet gorgeous, and completely different than what I thought I wanted, but it was perfect!! AND IT HAD POCKETS!! Reina had been so helpful and amazingly intuitive to my needs/wants. I have never been fat shamed until I tried on a dress here. I requested to try on a size 4 and two of the employees tried to get me to try on an 8?!? Mind you, I'm 5'3, 120 lbs. They kept pressing me and being PUSHY on getting a bigger size. I always wear a size 4 everywhere, why would I not know my body better than these employees.. There's literally so many ways you can address dress sizes, but they both decided to be rude. I was wearing a bigger coat that hid my 25 inch waist, regardless of that, they should never make someone feel the way they made me feel. Me and my mom felt ignored were shown where the dresses were and left didn't offer to try them on and as soon as we said we needed them for the following weekend they lost interest in helping us. I got my wedding dress from this location about 9 months ago and recently had it altered. Both ladies (sorry I forgot their names, but they were working on 4/16/22) assisting me were so kind and gentle and made sure I was 100% happy with the alterations. Fast forward to 5/19/22 when I picked up my dress... It was beautiful and fit my like a glove. Went with my sister to her dress fitting/alteration appointment which was at 7:30 at night. When she was all done I was browsing the clearance section (I'm engaged) and I asked one of the workers if I could try the dress on. She was very nice and said of course, and showed me to a room. I was only planning on trying on the one dress but then my mom has brought me 2 more to try on. Mind you, we were the ONLY people in there at 8:15pm on a Wednesday. When I came out to grab the other dresses from my mom, a different worker/stylist came RUNNING over to me yelling "um excuse me, what are you doing? Do you have an appointment? You can only try on dresses with an appointment and with a stylist" I told her, 'oh I'm sorry, the other lady said I could try this dress on'.. she then went on to question me "Well are you even engaged? Well when is the wedding then?" She probably asked me these 2 questions about 5 times In the span of a few minutes as if I was lying. I felt embarrassed and quickly took the dress off and walked out of the dressing room. Then she acted surprised "oh are you all done? Can I help you tighten the dress since it was big on you?" Um NO. This was my first time trying on a wedding dress and she totally ruined the experience for me. I understand the rules of needing an appointment but she could've went about it a different way. First, my consultant was very nice. She did her best and I appreciate her. Unfortunately she was double booked so I really didn't get the bridal experience just stood around in one or two dresses while she tried to find anything I liked that might come close to fitting while doing the same for the other 2 people she was helping. Now here's why they only got 3 stars.... I'm a plus size girl and when I set the appointment they asked specifically what my "street size" was so they could get a feel for my wedding dress size which is apparently 2-4 sizes bigger than what I'd normally wear and yet they had little to nothing for me to try on. I'm a size 20 but this means 22-24 in wedding dresses and she tried to put me in a 10 because 4 out of 8 dresses I wanted to try on they didn't have even close to my size. Why bother to ask us our size if you have nothing for us to try on? I know I'm fat but silly me I still think I should get my bridal moment. My suggestion is get more plus size dresses for someone to try on or inform the ladies that call for an appointment that you have very little in their size to try on so they won't be disappointed when they arrive. read more

I came in today with my MOH to have her try on bridesmaid dresses, and we had such a great experience! We worked with Adrianna and she was AMAZING! She is so sweet!She was working with multiple appointments and made it to everyone in a timely manner. She checked on us often and we didn't feel rushed or pressured to buy ASAP or anything. If the store didn't have the option we liked in the size we needed , she would bring us a "sister dress" so it would be as similar as the original dress . Alterations Department is horrible. They ruined my dress completely. 1. It was completely over priced 2. When I tried my dress on there & didn't move it was fine. 3. Moving in my dress was a different story. The extended zipper was not straight at all and the seam that was supposed to go down my side now went down the side of my back. The slit on the side of the leg now was up the front. ( Tacky ) all because they pulled the fabric from only one side to add the zipper. But she insisted they don't see that way. If the person helping you is named Alexis. RUN! The First Lady helping me was amazing and helpful but Alexis gave attitude the second she had to help us. Two bridesmaids needed a size bigger than 8 she took it upon herself to bring out size 8 after asking for a bigger size. After seeing the size didn't fit she said "oh that definitely was never gonna fit you." She was more rude to my larger bridesmaids than my smaller ones and ruined the appointment for us all. My party left the store shortly after having to deal with her and I would give it 0 stars if I had to start the appointment off with her. This was my second bad encounter with David's Bridal so I do not think I will be taking my services there. If anyone does know a good respectful dress store please let me know. read more

My consultant Kim was AMAZING once again. This was my second time coming in for a wedding dress because I was questioning everything! She knew I had to leave with a dress I truely loved, and that's exactly what happened. She narrowed everything down and made me pinpoint everything I loved and hated even if it was just between the two of us. She new exactly how to connect with me so I could be honest about my insecurities with her, that way she could put me in something I LOVED. Not only did she help me find my dress but she also helped me pick a new veil since my other one didn't match. Although this process was so stressful for me, she made it a whole lot easier. Fair warning! Do NOT, I repeat DO NOT go to DB for anything! It's unfortunate I even have to write this, but it has to be said. Went to the Modesto store to get a bridesmaids dress for my best friends wedding. All the girls were there. We tried on a few dresses and settled on a style and color. Which by the way, the swatches are super inaccurate. They did not have the style and color in stock so we ordered the dress without having actually seen it. 4 girls purchased a $200 dress that day yet none of us were told of the shiesty return policy for in store purchases. Remember, we didn't walk out with a dress, but it's an "in-store" purchase because the associate ordered it through their supplier. The bride decided she didn't want the dress anymore so she called to cancel the order. It wasn't going to be the right color for what she had in mind. The color we saw online and the color the dress was going to come in didn't match. They said it had been past the 7 days after purchase so she couldn't return. Ummm but we never were told this...plus we were told we could return because of COVID...so now they say no? The return policy was apparently written on the receipt but I never got a paper receipt, only an email confirming my order. It wasn't until I got the email that the dress had arrived that then I see the return policy. Meanwhile the bride is now trying to get us our money back because she does not want the dress. It's not the dress we ordered. She went to managers, regional, and corporate, all to be met with rudeness. She has filed a formal complaint with the BBB and legal council has been contacted. I went to see the dress and what we saw online is definitely not what came. See attached picture. I'm so sorry for DB because none of us bridesmaids will ever go back to the store for our future weddings, and we will not be recommending them for anything. My daughter and I went in to get 2 bridesmaid dresses for my sisters upcoming wedding. The person that helped us had us try on several dresses and when we found the dresses we liked she told us that they wouldn't come in on time for the wedding. (April 25th) She then told us there was only one style that would arrive on time and neither of us liked it. I called my sister to let her know and she quickly began looking online. She immediately found several styles that were ready to ship and we would get them by the end of this month. I gave the style numbers to the lady that was helping us and she agreed that she had missed them. She pulled the styles for us to try on and we never saw her again. I came here last year to find my prom dress for my junior prom, and was able to find it here. I went to this store because it was the closet Macy's department store to me, and Modesto has really great shopping areas. After looking through their small section of prom dresses, and finding something that had a bigger size other than a 6, I was able to find one but had a tear on the bottom of it. They had a discount and sale going on, so the dress ended up being about 80% off the original tag price. The staff wasn't too friendly, and the person in charge of the fitting rooms wasn't there, so we had to wait 10 minutes for someone to show up. Staff, 4/10, staff was not helpful, friendly, or seemed to be happy to be there in general. Cost effective, 5/10, if you go there for the first time without any discounts, coupons, or their credit czars it will be expensive. Location, 7/10 read more

I visited David's Bridal over the weekend and I must say I was overall disappointed. I had an appointment for 3pm on a Sunday, and we got there around 2:45 and were immediately greeted and given an area. Shortly after, my consultant Michelle introduced herself to myself and my party. She then asked me what kind of dresses I liked (style, material, price etc). She wrote this all down. I showed her a dress I found on their website and she informed me that they don't carry that dress. Ok. So she gave me some post-it notes and a book of dresses and asked me to mark my 3 favorite for her to pull. After marking my 3, she left and came back and said unfortunately they don't carry any of the dresses I marked in the binder (then take them out!!!) Anyways, she said she would find me similar styles. She came back with literally the extreme opposite of what I asked for. I told her I wanted very simple, sheath, spaghetti strap dresses. She had me trying on busy dresses with lots of lace and 'bling'. All strapless. I was nice and tried them on but started to feel very upset because I felt unattractive in the dresses and to top it off she wasn't listening to me and didn't care. My bridesmaids tried to go look themselves but were told we aren't allowed to look through their dresses. We have to go by the book. So again we opened the book and mark a few more dresses and she brought them out. I started to feel more comfortable and excited because we were getting closer. They do this thing where they ask you with every dress to rate it on a scale of 1-10. My first dresses I rated 4 and 5's. And we were finally at an 8! So I had found two dresses that I was considering. The manager came over and asked me how we could get my 8's to a 10. And I told her that I wish I didn't look so heavy in them. She said "well first of all this is the wrong size and isn't clipped well". She started changing the way my consultant put me into the dress. And magically I looked about 10 lbs lighter. (The manager was amazing and really knows what she's doing). They started changing the look of my dress by bringing different straps and sleeves and changing the bust and adding sashes and veils. So much fun! I ended up ringing the bell and picking a dress that day. But deep down I was thinking about the dress I was never able to try on. So less than 24 hours later I went down to see about exchanging. Kaitlyn was there and informed me they want me to be happy and know for certain that it's the dress I wanted. She said they would totally work with me and she understands. I told her about the dress online and she said they could order anything and looked it up and said it could be here in 4 weeks. My original consultant didn't even mention that. My original consultant is very rude and a miserable person by the way. I haven't gone into much detail about her but she pretty much lacks common knowledge and any costumer service skills. She pretty much was calling me fat and having me try on dresses way to big for me and Refused to get me a bra in my size to use because she said she had my right size. Ummmm no...my boobs were pouring over the sides and top of the bra and she said that's not because it's the wrong size it's just my fat. She also said that the girl she helped yesterday was so tiny that nothing fit her so at least I won't have that issue. Ok. Thanks??? Anyways. I placed an order for another dress today after going back and was given credit for what I already spent. And I will just have to pay the remainder. I have high hopes that next time will be a better experience when my new dress comes and I try it on with someone else. Kaitlin seems wonderful. The mangers were amazing. MICHELLE SUCKS. Anyways I will update when I go back for my fitting with this new dress I ordered. By the way don't forget to take photos. The consultant took none and didn't even remind us too.
