I have been meaning to write this post for a few months now but because of covid 19 my wedding…read moreplans have been postponed:( We purchased our bridesmaid gowns from this shop and Shannon who was the manager at the time was amazing. Our gowns were being custom made so she gave everyone in our party her personal cell phone number and provided us weekly updates on our order. She even gave our friend who was a BRIDEZILLA and who got her dress at a different store,weekly updates. Shannon went over and beyond for us. even after hours when the store was closed she always respond to our texts and answered our questions. So when my boyfriend proposed to I went back to Jetaime to look for my wedding gown. Unfortunately Shannon was not there that day. So after waiting over an hour for the owner Lupe? to come out and help me which never actually happened! She was to busy getting yelled at by some of her tax clients? in the back room who were pissed off about being audited! I guess the owner runs a bridal/tax store ? Who knows! All I know is that I was just by sitting there not being helped, and listening to the owner being called a liar and incompetent because how badly she messed up how she filed taxes for them. They were even more pissed off when the owner asked for even more money to fix the audit! Why is this tax BS happening at a bridal shop anyway? Sketchy AF! Wait IT GETS WORSE! Even though I desperately wanted to get out of there I could not leave, I felt obligated as a mother to stay there to make sure the 2 little girls which I'm assuming who belonged to the owner, who were not being supervised by anyone, were running around the store screaming and playing hiding o seek between the wedding gowns and pulling off the dresses that were hanging on the display racks and leaving them on the floor while they trampled on top of them! So since I didn't want them hurt themselves or to run out of the shop on to Mchenry ave and get hit by a car! I sat there and watched them til the owner came out! I initially chose a less expensive seamstress for my wedding dress alterations, and unfortunately, the neckline was completely botched and uneven. With my wedding only being 1 month away, this was a huge disappointment and caused an unnecessary additional amount of stress. I brought my dress to Carole, who was recommended by the bridal shop, and she was an absolute pleasure. She fixed the neckline beautifully and, while working on the dress, also noticed that the original bustle had been poorly done and was likely to break. Only 1 button for all that fabric (right where my bottom hits the chair), I mean come on! Carole fixed it beautifully with a French bustle. Before and after photo below. What I appreciate most is that she was willing to take on someone else's work and fix it, even though I had originally passed on her because her quote was higher. After seeing the love and quality she put into my dress, I truly wish I had just gone with her from the beginning! She was professional, knowledgeable, and so so kind. I'm forever grateful she was able to save my wedding dress so I could wear it with no regrets on my special day! I am truly so appreciative of Carole and the work she put into my gown. She worked with my budget and listened to what I wanted and made something I didn't even know what was possible happen. Her studio is very clean and gorgeous. She guided me on how to travel to Mexico with my dress and gave me the confidence to do so. I am so over the moon that I was able to wear my mom's dress for my mom and the rest of my family in Mexico. My mother could not be in the states for my civil ceremony, but with her dress she was as close to my heart as possible. Thank you again Carole.
