A few of us women tried on bridesmaids' dresses for my best friend's wedding, which is coming up in Fall 2026. The stylist who assisted us was Rosa, and she was beyond incredible and helpful. She selected several dresses that she felt were suitable and accentuated our body types. I truly appreciated her expertise, knowledge, and patience in helping us achieve the goal of finding "the dress." Thankfully, I found a beautiful off-the-shoulder dress in the color Cinnamon that was also very reasonably priced. I'm grateful to Rosa for creating such a positive experience overall. I felt discriminated because I had went to this store with my family and were Mexican, went to look for a prom dress for my younger sibling so the young man had made us sign in the chart before coming in and then there was this American couple behind us waiting and the young man ask them "hello do you know what your looking for today" and they had told him they were there to shop for a bday dress. Then he had let them right in without signing in. I said it out loud for them to hear "how come they didn't have to sign in before coming in but they made us do it." No employee had an answer for it. I felt discriminated for that. As well there was two ladies helping us out on deciding which of the two black dresses to try on but I had told them in a respectful tone that my sibling didn't prefer the flowy dress because that's not her style and the lady look at me and mug me, sigh loud and ignored what I said and still had made my sibling try it out when she didn't want to. I had an appointment 4/26 at 10:30 am and Rosa was absolutely wonderful. With my wedding only 2 months away, I know it was going to be a stretch to find something I liked in store. Rosa made the experience very pleasant, I showed her my inspo photos and shared my budget and she was spot on with helping me find selections that were close to my needs. She was patient and cannot thank her enough for a good experience! With her help and honest opinions I was able to find a dress that I genuinely love! I came in for my first time ever trying on dresses for my wedding, right from the start the girl at the front seat and my stylist gave me an easy process. I was then matched with my stylist Lizbeth and she was amazing. She listened everything I had to likes and dislikes and even let us try on all the dresses that we had time for. It wasn't until the manager stepped in and decided to change the whole aspect of things. She kept telling me everything I wanted wasn't available in my price range, even though my stylist was finding me dresses that I did enjoy in my price range. The manager then insisted that we were getting close to our end and we would have to be leaving and schedule a separate comeback appointment along with other negative things. I felt bad for my stylist as she was doing everything she could to help me in this first time experience, even though the manager is making everything awful. read more

I've been to this David's bridal a few times both as a bride and as a bridesmaid. I just walked out of the store because I was extremely uncomfortable!! One of the ladies was nice when we entered and greeted us as usual and asked what we were searching for. I said I wanted to look at bridesmaid dresses for my girls, so I filled out the paper and went to look. Not even three minutes later, she announces across the store to another employee that "there is a customer looking for bridesmaid dresses for her wedding next spring and you should get her to sign up for Gen Tux." That was uncomfortable to have announced across the store for one, then my mom and I are looking at general dresses for ideas in their discount section and he comes over and tells us we shouldn't be looking there because they're going out and the styles won't be available. I understand the concern but I explained we were looking just for inspiration and styles that I may like to apply to other dresses later. He cuts me off towards the end of my sentence and claims he's just saying for us to know in case I fall in love with a dress. So I proceed to look, again for INSPO, and he comes back and tells me again that I'm in the wrong section and should be looking more to the right side for the bridesmaid dresses since I was looking at prom dresses. After these interactions, I just lost hope here. I was looking for inspiration from other dresses and even for a mother of the bride dress for my mom and after all this, I just did not want to look anymore. Even when I came here for a bridal appointment, my lady had no personality and their back room for alterations looks like a sweatshop. It's not a comfortable store or experience here. read more

The staff at this store deserve negative reviews after the way they treated my friend/bride. After waiting 4 months for her dress to return to the store after alterations were done, the manager clarified that the store never recieved her dress, so my bride drove an hr to this location for nothing and said it would be ready 2 weeks before her wedding! The manager was rude, defensive, and not willing to take responsibility for the wrong doing her staff did. She wasn't willing to give alternative options to her either by not offering a refund or do an exchange, but instead can do store credit ugh The manager also kept asking the bride about who she worked with 4 months ago to figure out who gave her the February timeline that the dress would be ready, which is stupid because she worked with multiple people. It made it sound that she was looking for anyone to blame on within the staff. The sales rep the bride confirmed her fitting appointment happened to be at the register during this conversation and admitted she doesn't remember asking the bride where the dress was before she made the 1 hr drive to this location, so that's another fail. Overall, multiple people were involved with this conversation and the staff was unprofessional, defensive, didn't say sorry, and didn't take any responsibility. The bride later found out that the manager we spoke to wasn't even one! It sounds like they chose the rudest person on the staff to act manager for the day to give us bullshit answers to get rid of us quickly. To all future brides, save your money and go to Bianca's Bridal instead. They treated my bride with care and patience after the horrible time we had at David's and even found a new dress there! read more

DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS STORE! My larger sized daughter ordered a wedding dress from the Modesto store. She lives out of state so had it altered there. When it was ordered in December and delivered 5 months later, the dress was TOO SMALL! It had to be altered and made bigger which cost almost as much as the dress itself. I think she should have some sort of refund for this as it was the FAULT of the store for ordering it too small! If the next size up was ordered, it would have been easier to take it in rather than let it out. I am VERY DISAPPOINTED in this store and will NEVER purchase anything further from them. Beware of alterations department. I bought my wedding dress here and later took it back to get hemmed as it was a little too long. No other alterations were supposed to be done, however upon pickup, the dress's neck tie looked different and was falling apart. I unfortunately did not notice this at pickup due to being rushed by employees to try on the dress and I only checked the length due to the hemming being the only alteration that should have been done. There was no time to have them fix the dress due to me needing to leave for my destination wedding in a few days. Come my wedding day, the neck tie broke. Before and after alterations picture attached for reference. Also, upon checking my receipt for the alterations, there's an extra $20 charge on there for a bag?? Stressful experience at a time that should be enjoyable for the bride. I had a great experience the day of wedding dress shopping. We loved our stylist Andy. I bought and paid full price for my wedding dress and both flower girls dresses, 2000 dollars worth of merchandise, on our first day there but the rest of the experience was awful!! They never said anything about picking up the dress only 7 days after it arrived at the store. I bought the dress in November and they said it should come in Jan. It came right before Christmas and then they harassed me almost every day for the next 14 days to pick up the dresses even though I had an alteration date set for March. They even called me on New Year's Eve which happens to be my birthday to tell me I needed to come get my dress ASAP! They said they would mail it for free but when I asked who would be liable if something happened to it in route they said me. Then Kelsey proceeded to tell me that after they hold it for 7 days then the store isn't liable for it anyways. Kelsey who was super rude told me verbatim, "If the store caught on fire after your dress has been here 7 days then we (DB) are not liable for it anymore!" I am flabbergasted at the customer service and this ridiculous rule that a bride has to pick her dress up after 7 days after arrival!!! I had the flu and we are in a level 5 storm warning in the Bay Area currently and Kelsey still continued to tell me I needed to get the dress ASAP. They could have at least been upfront about this policy but they never said anything about it at time of purchase! You would think a huge corporation like David's Bridal would have enough space to store the wedding dresses they sell, especially the ones that are paid in full and have alteration appointments set!! I will not spend one more penny there and I hope this review helps saves another bride the tears and stress I endured!! read more

I ordered a dress and it was supposed to arrive on the 7th of April, that date passed. I texted customer service, and they told me it would be ready on the 11th. The 11th came and went, and I still never heard from them. I ordered a backup dress from Amazon, and I'm glad I did. My dress never arrived. I needed it on the 20th. There was no communication from this location. I went to get a refund, and the manager just said, "Sorry about that," as if it was some minor accident. She talked to the customer next to me the entire time of my transaction. I wouldn't chance it with D&B. But if you must, go to the Sacramento location. It's so much better. The managers there were super helpful and kind. The store had a better flow, more bridal focused, and it was so pretty. The modesto location looks like a warehouse sale place. As for my experience prior to the order mishap .....that was a disaster and too much to write. read more

I love the staff here! I was supposed to get married in 2020 before Covid hit. I bought my dress prior but then had to cancel and return the dress because of Covid and my wedding. I had no issues returning the dress, and the staff were amazing in helping me find the dress as well. Went in a 2nd time to try on wedding dresses. Abigail (Abby) was very helpful on understanding what type of dress I did not want and was patient when i wanted to try on different veils and different styles. She gave me advice and ideas on what to add as accessories for my dress, and talked more about alterations and what I could do to the dress to make it more with my personal touches. All the staff at Davids Bridal was welcoming and friendly. The take aways were that they are very limited in sizes and the dresses being tried on were dirty from multiple wears. read more

Headed here to order my bridesmaids dress because we don't have a location in my town and had to head to Modesto for another appt. let me just say, it was nice to be able to walk in and have someone available to give me service. Was very disappointed to find out that they couldn't get the style(s) I preferred in time for the wedding even though it was 4 months away. Consultant was very nice and did what she could to dig up other options that I could get in time. Two stars for two reasons- 1. Dressing rooms were very dirty, along with most of the carpets throughout the place. When I'm trying anything on, ESPECIALLY an expensive dress. 2. I asked them to ship it to my house since I'm Not local to Modesto and they told me it wasn't a problem and they do it all the time, took my address down and I left. When my dress arrived on site, they called me to get my address saying they didn't have it on file, and said they would ship the dress out that Friday. I started to wonder if there was an issue because I hadn't received the dress in the timeline they suggested shipping would take. Fast forward to two weeks later, I receive a phone call asking for my address (yes, a 3rd time) dating that my dress was packaged and just sitting there because they didn't have my address on file. ‍ Staff was friendly, but store is dirty and they're very unorganized.
