We arrived to look for some prom dresses. The girl at the front desk gave us a big hello and told us to go look through the racks. That was the last we saw of her and anyone else in the store. The selection wasn't very good and the sizes were all over the place. Don't waste your time here for prom dresses. read more

I'm in two wedding parties this year and have been in five in previous years so I have quite a bit of experience in going to wedding dress fittings. David's Bridal is a chain, which comes with some benefits as it's a huge shop which means huge selection. They also have a ton of dresses on sale and even a rack full of $200 dresses! That's just insane to me. I went to the Lombard location this past weekend with one of my bride-to-be best friends and actually had a good experience. I'm used to snobby workers from their other locations but we had a girl that was very patient and helpful with us. She listened to everything my friend said she liked and disliked about each dress, trying her darnedest to find her something that would work. The girl in the front checking people in did have some of that fun David's Bridal snootiness I'm accustomed to though. My friend had many photographs of dresses - she's looking for a Grecian looking, drappy type of dress. Her wedding is in Mexico on the beach so makes sense. Sadly, this huge location packed full of dresses didn't have a single dress in this style. I don't even know how that's possible. Overall it seemed like the majority of the dresses didn't err on the simplistic side...and personally, I'm not into all that bajeweling badazzeling razzle dazzle poofiness. Also, our lady helping us was very nice & sweet...but they assign one girl to help two brides for the same 90 minute slot! We just couldn't have her full attention. And because of that my friend would often just wait in the changing room....waiting...and one time called out for me because she was bored in there waiting. They really should only assign one consultant to each bride for a more personal experience. Having to constantly wait really dragged things out. And sometimes she would say to my friend, so what do you like about this dress? As my friend would look in the mirror taking a few seconds to formulate an answer, the other bride she was helping would start talking to get the consultant's attention. Oy. Honestly, the smaller boutiques are a bit pricier but the level of service far surpasses these big box stores. Plus smaller shops give you mimosas/champagne! That alone sells me. :P If you must go to David's Bridal, this location is your best bet. read more

I made an appointment about a week prior and stood around waiting for help when I got there. Finally someone helped but she said she had another person she was helping . This was my first time shopping for a dress and what a let down. I was completely neglected. I spent 20 min finding dresses and then someone else had to come in and finish helping. Not all my dress selections got to the other lady. The place itself was gross and stinky. All around bad experience. It will save you money but at what cost? read more

My experience getting my MOG dress was amazing. Cynthia, at David's Bridal was so helpful and nice! However, the gentleman they have working there irritated me to the depths of my soul. I'm sorry, but I don't think men should work in bridal shops. Their DNA prevents them from getting it. The alteration lady was amazing and it wasn't her fault that the alterations cost $509. The entire staff is so welcoming and helpful! Rachel was my stylist and she understood exactly what I was looking for.

Kylie did such a wonderful job of finding the perfect dress for my wedding! She was so accommodating regarding my budget and style, very professional, and a really lovely person. I had prepared about 5 models numbers for the dresses I had viewed online, so she had something to work with. I got there exactly at 5pm and left around 6:10pm on a Thursday evening. From the get go, she explained everything to me very thoroughly (with it being my first wedding and all), and she got my style down within the first five minutes! I was pretty impressed. I would highly recommend this David's Bridal and encourage any worrisome bride to find Kylie as she absolutely will be your perfect guide to the perfect dress. I ordered my dress this morning and was told I'd be able to pick up my dress and shoes on March 9th! Looking forward to visiting Kylie and the store again for my bridesmaids :) read more

David's bridal alterations is not the place to go. 1) I had a dress that I paid to have alterations done and they didn't do half of what I paid for so I had to come back for it. 2) they've previously cleaned my dress, now I'm asking them to clean it again (gladly I'll pay) so I can donate to a place in wheeling for them to make dresses for NICU babies who passed. Nope now they won't clean their own dress. Will not be returning to their alterations department. They also are very rude on the phone, so beware when calling in. read more

Terrible customer service experience! My friend that was getting married chose David's Bridal for her bridesmaids dresses. I wasn't able to attend her original appointment, so I went in separate to try on the dress and get my correct size before purchasing. They gave me an attendant who found the dress. It was visibly dirty and had a broken zipper. Unfortunately it was also only in larger sizes so I could not try it on in my actual size, which was okay since they could measure me and get an accurate size. I figured that was exactly what she would do after walking me to a fitting room. It should have been a quick experience, in and out. Instead, I found myself waiting a half hour just for the attendant to come back. It was not necessarily through fault of her own as she was juggling several different parties also looking for dresses. Finally, she came back with clips to adjust the dress and measured me so I could get an accurate size of dress to purchase. The dress was super long so I made inquiry over the cost of shortening the length. To my surprise, the alterations would cost almost as much as dress itself! Obviously I opted out of using them for any tailoring services. The attendant asked if I wanted to try it on with heels to get a better feel for the dress. I should have said no as at that point I was ready to go as the store continued getting more crowded (this was way back in Feb. so there were no covid related restrictions). I decided to try it with the heels. Again I found myself waiting for her return, at least it was quicker this time (only about 10 min). She left the shoes and walked away. It only took me a minute to put on the shoes, but I had to wait another 20 minutes for her return so I could finally let her know I was ready to check out. She wrote down the dress details and handed them off to me so I could wait in line. I asked if it would be better to order online or at the store. The representative said it would be better to order at the store. I listened to her advice and continued the check out process. (I wish I would've listened to my first instinct and ordered online!) Even if you try on in store, I would recommend to order online (This reason will be explained later). The color of the dress required it to be custom ordered so they gave me the spiel about the long time the dress might take to receive by mail. I knew I would have it by the wedding so I wasn't worried. The checkout experience was fine (they wouldn't accept my coupon since they claimed the dress was already discounted. That was not in the policy, but I accepted it as I was ready to leave). Then COVID happened. The store closed. I received my dress by mail in April. But my friend cancelled her wedding so I then needed to return it, except all the stores in my area are closed. Now the next part is more a negative review towards David's Bridal corporate side. It was near impossible to get in touch with customer service! Even when you called the automated system pretty much forced you to their substandard text system. Which was super delayed and frustrating to use. I was concerned about having to physically go to the store (when they did eventually open) and return the dress so I requested allowing me to mail it back to them. If they mailed it to me, I should be able to mail it back, right? Wrong! Here's where the part comes into play about ordering online vs at the store. According to them, their system is so outdated they have no way for customers who made the order in store to return it by mail. If I had of ordered online, I would have had no problem returning the dress. To add to their terrible customer service experience, multiple representatives would stop answering when I tried to inquire more about the return policy. And since they simply ignored the message instead of ending the conversation, I would be stuck in limbo and unable to use the same phone number to start a new text conversation. It was beyond frustrating! The email is useless as well so don't bother emailing the address that the business keeps posting in response to negative reviews. This story does have a happy ending as I was able to go to the store once they reopened and return the dress for a full refund. I'm not surprised they've been on the verge of going out of business. Their customer service experience is a nightmare. If anything goes wrong with your dress, you're pretty much on your own. They need to do away with their crappy text system and get real people answering the phone. They need to hire more attendants so that one of them is not forced to juggle 5 different parties. There are much better dress shops out there, especially in my local area. In the future, I will definitely be choosing one of them over David's Bridal. read more

Sam was great! Helped my bridesmaids try on different dresses and was so friendly and accommodating. Would definitely recommend!!

I'm actually kind of shocked about how many horrendous reviews have been posted by people about this David's Bridal - my experience was actually quite lovely! I got engaged about 6 weeks ago, and about two weeks after my fiancé proposed, I was out to breakfast with my girlfriend. I mentioned to her how absolutely terrified I was to try on dresses - the result was a spontaneous trip to the bridal store! When we arrived, the person at the door was very polite, and told me that I needed an appointment to try on dresses (later, when Ania was helping me with all those stupid buttons, I saw why!!! Oy!). We made an appointment for later that day with Ania, one of their consultants. Ania was patient and encouraging - she put up with my jokes about how I was so nervous, I was going to throw up (but seriously, I freak out when I go shopping for jeans...). I also started being really goofy to diffuse some of the nerves. Said goofiness may have included me making Blues Clues noises and cracking jokes about how someone needed to call the Shedd Aquarium, because one of their Belugas had escaped to Lombard. While we didn't buy a dress that day, when we came back a few weeks later, I specifically requested Ania, and they obliged. This time, I brought four people, including my mom. Ania was again classy, calm, and efficient. She was working with a few other brides at the same time, but handled it really well. Her manager (short, blonde hair) periodically observed the appointment. While I'm sure she thought I was insane (trying to see if I could kneel easily in the dresses for our Catholic High nuptial Mass, and periodically making weird noises or using strange mock-swears like "Holy Guacamole!"), she kind of let Ania stay on point, which I appreciated. I ended up buying a gorgeous dress that was 20% off, and while they hit me up for all the little extras at the register (probably corporate S.O.P., but still unnerving...), the day was less stressful and even fun, dare I say!!! :-) Is it Kleinfeld's? No. But they treated me with respect, and I did my best to reciprocate in kind. With so many Bridezillas out there, I don't think ANYONE - certainly not someone who has to deal with these crazy women all day - should be faulted for not oozing puppies and rainbows from every pore, 24/7. Weddings are stressful, dude - don't add stress where it isn't needed. The best advice Ania gave me was to enjoy it - and she's right. I get to marry an incredible man in a beautiful dress that I had fun buying with the ladies I love best. What more could a girl ask for? :-D read more

I had made an appointment to look at bridesmaids dresses for last Sunday a week in advance. I brought my mom and two bridesmaids to try on dresses. We got there about 10 min early and when I walked in I went to the desk at the front to check in. I told them my name and they asked me if I had looked at wedding dresses before and I said yes because I already had bought my dress somewhere else. The gentleman said wedding dresses were over here and I said no I was here to see bridesmaids dresses. The guy seemed confused and typed something into the computer. I had even confirmed my appointment via text so I don't know where the miscommunication was. We went into the racks to look at some dresses before the consultant came to meet me. We were on our own for probably 15 min before the consultant came and introduced herself. I have no idea what her name was because I hardly saw her the hour we were there. She asked what color I was looking at and my sister asked if we could see a dress in the color since we couldn't find one on the racks. She went stomping off and came back with a swatch which isn't what we asked for. My sister found a dress in the color for me instead. She told me to pick out styles on a poster but another bridal party was hogging it so I just stood there like an idiot overwhelmed with no help. My bridesmaids picked all the dresses themselves from the rack with no help from the consultant. In fact I didn't even see her since she was helping other brides. I felt completely unimportant and overwhelmed so we left. On the way out the consultant passed me and said bye. Like seriously? I could have brought in business from 5 bridesmaids but instead I'll be having them shop online. I never write yelp reviews but honestly the service was atrocious and I will never recommend this store. read more

Went to the Lombard IL store - we had an appointment for 7:30pm. We were greeted immediately and even the mgr took us over to the area to start browsing. Our salesperson came over to say Hi and was really nice and enthusiastic. We browsed for awhile but it did take a time to get things going. By this time it was almost 8pm and they close at 9pm. She came back and showed us the Clearance dresses since we mentioned that one of the dresses we liked online was just reduced to $99. Just a warning though - the website states a lot of $99 dresses but they only had 6 of them at this store. You can't find out off their website which stores will have your size and the store has to do that. It's kind of a bait and switch. Also we mentioned that she had a favorites list started on David's Bridal - our salesperson said she would print it out but She never did. Well we finally got to start trying dresses on and my daughter tried on about 7 and then narrowed it to 2 and picked one of them that night. I felt as if she really didn't get to see/try on that many. Luckily my daughter was on a mission to do this in one night. I personally might have shopped around. We bought the actual dress she tried on and there was $100 off sale. Cash and carry. It's beautiful and will work out well but I wish we could have gotten going a little faster and get these dresses on/off. Things went so slowly. read more

I've been here quite a few times now. First, I picked out my dress and had a fabulous experience. Then I picked it up (took three times!) Then I was back to help my step daughter pick out her jr bridesmaid dress, a very quick trip, Kelly was very efficient and worked worth us and a bride, but we never felt like we were ignored. The only complaint is the front desk typically gets bogged down if more than one appointment arrives at the same time. read more

This place is worthless. While it's still better than the Vernon Hills location (it terms of cleanliness), it's still bad. Our consultant WAS nicer, though, and you didn't get the idea that she was judging you while you tried on dresses. So, one star for her. But, here's my problem. They told the bride that all of the bridesmaids would have to order from THIS specific location, even though most of us don't live anywhere NEAR Lombard. When asked if it'd be possible to order the dress from somewhere closer to our respective homes, they told us it could be done - but, we'd have to pay a $15 fee delivery fee, so the Lombard store could ship it to those stores. Are you kidding me? I'm not paying $15 if I don't have to. DB boasts convenience because of all their locations, so why do I have to pay for this? I recently called the Logan Square location and asked if I could order a bridesmaid dress from here, even though the bride was registered in Lombard. They said that it'd be no problem and that was the point of their stores- to not make people drive 30 miles just to pick up a dress. Thank you! And, so I ordered it from them. Over the phone. In 2 seconds. So, maybe the Lombard store needs to hit a certain sales target this month. But, whatever the case, they shouldn't lie to their customers. That'll only deter them in the future, right? read more

Gross, gross, gross. I'll admit it- I came in here with the sole purpose of trying on a dress I was thinking about buying on eBay. Yes, I'm that bride. Blame it on Wall Street, baby! The sales associate was so fake the word 'saccharine' comes to mind. She told me I looked amazing in everything I tried on. Including the dress that made me appear 4 months pregnant. Too bad 'shot gun' isn't the theme of the wedding! They do have a huge selection and great prices, but you can find competitive prices at smaller independent shops if you are willing to do the research. The real issue I have with this place is that I have this gross feeling (no proof, not an accusation, just a feeling) that they SOLD MY INFORMATION. I'm just not sure who else it could have been as I hadn't given my info out anywhere else, and less than a month of coming here, I started to get all kind of wedding related telemarketing calls. Buyers and prospective EBay bidders, beware! read more

David's Bridal I feel is sort of the Walmart of the bridal industry. I love the selection they offer for wedding parties but coming in here really felt, gross. I came here with my sister - the Bride - and several wedding party members, moms, friends, etc. The consultant helped us find a bridal gown for my sister. It exceeded her budget but when you know it's the one, you just go for it. She really looked gorgeous and totally fit her eclectic personality. My mom even found a perfect dress for herself also. (FYI I found it since our salesperson wasn't too keen on helping anyone but the bride). Our salesperson was assigned to help us as well as the party next to us. So it was hard not having her to help as much as we needed. We had back to back appointments, one appointment for the bride and a second appointment for bridesmaid dresses. They "lost" the bridesmaid appointment - even though I had it confirmed in an email from them - so our consultant really didn't help the bridesmaids. We ended up leaving without maids dresses. People really cram in this place, especially on the weekends. The party next to us brought kids that ranged from infant to teenagers. I get that you need to bring your kids with you, but please don't give them chocolate, Cheetos, suckers, orange pop, or anything other than water! We were right next to them so we had to talk over the screaming, crying, kids running around us, as well as avoiding the open pop bottles they left on the floor. I wish the staff would've said something but no. I was annoyed for sure. I wouldn't normally add this into a review but one of the kids had chocolate fingers and ran by me and got chocolate on my pants. Totally ruined my day for sure. I think you have to realize what you get when you come here. They have a great selection and will most likely find something in your budget. But you have to deal with a little lack of service. The independent bridal shops will wine and dine you, but you will also definitely pay more than at David's. read more

I was actually very excited about the prospect of picking out a bridesmaid dress, but my mood had dampened a bit after the "Meh" and "Eek" experiences with employees at the Orland Park and Schaumburg locations respectively. Seriously, what is the deal with these big box bridal stores and why on earth would they hire such repellant people to sell you $100+ dresses? Anyway, I decided I'd rather pick up my bridesmaid dress at a new location than go back to the Schaumburg one. Besides, in Lombard I'd save ~$4 in lower sales taxes, ha. Well, that was just the thing to put the pep back in my bridesmaiding: The ladies I dealt with in Lombard were absolutely delightful, both on the phone and in person. My attendant encouraged me to try on my new dress to make sure everything was okay. She provided excellent service with a sunshiny, slightly southern accent, and even declared that I didn't need any alterations rather than trying to upsell me. I'm sure it all depends on who happens to working at the time you visit, but I definitely lucked out that Tuesday afternoon. read more

When people dream of their wedding day and trying on gorgeous wedding dresses, the last thing they would hope for is a dirty dress store that is disorganized and ends up ordering the wrong dresses. However, it happens. The Lombard store is conveniently located with accessible parking. Those were the two positive aspects of this particular store. Upon entering, it was clear that this was not a clean dress shop, which is surprising since they are a well-known chain. I did not let the stains on the floor and cramped spaces bother me too much as my bridesmaids chose a number of dresses to try on. When moving toward the fitting rooms, it was clear that the layout of this store was not discussed prior to David's Bridal's purchase of the shop. I was offered a seat on part of a display area because there weren't any chairs and while I sat there, I was bombarded by customers searching for the items behind me. You see...instead of placing fitting rooms in a private area for guests to enjoy the experience, they are located near displays of accessories and shoes so that random customers get in the way, decreasing the fun of the entire experience. After finally finding the right dresses, one of my bridesmaids went to order the dress and the receipt showed that the order was consistent with the chosen dress. A week later, when my bridesmaid called the shop, it was noticed that the WRONG dress was ordered for her and for all the other bridesmaids. When she attempted to fix the problem, the customer service representative at the store yelled at her and then proceeded to hang up the phone. I could go on and on about the many frustrations that came along with this particular store, but I will hold my tongue. I strongly suggest searching for a different David's Bridal or a different bridal store all together before entering into this one. Dress shopping is all part of the experience and this was an extremely unpleasant shop to spend time in. read more

This place is crazy. We were last Minute shopping for my friends wedding dress. We walked in at noon and were told to have an appointment. They had an open appointment at 3pm with Maria. We left and came back expecting to be helped by her. She was so busy and was helping another bride at the same time. It's very difficult to try on dresses if there isn't really someone helping you (she was constantly with the other bride). She was very nice but it was just too busy. They should have one person per bride. This is one of the most important parts of their special day. Hopefully next time they can portray that by spending time making them feel important (not just another number) read more

Pardon my crassness, and I'm sure she's a lovely person personally, but Lizette...well, Lisucks at her job. Telling a bride she'll "keep an eye out" for a certain dress type (it's her job to know what dresses are in stock, isn't it?), disappearing for 20 minutes at a time while giving the bride instructions that she's not to pull any dresses herself, not being available to assist a bride into a gown or really do anything whatsoever to sell a dress makes me believe that she absolutely hates her job, brides and their bridal parties. Maybe she was having an off day, but she was such a terrible bridal consultant, I would be absolutely shocked if she were ever able to work for any bridal company above David's Bridal. She was abysmal. She started another appointment and then never really returned. She was awful with a bride that was determined to find a dress that day. Instead of earning a commission, she guaranteed that the many people connected to this bride would never step foot in a david's bridal ever again. Beyond that, changing rooms are crammed together. They have no mirrors in the tiny rooms, so brides are forced to come out without having any idea about how a dress actually looks on them in front of the entire store. Staff mills around doing nothing and not helping at all. Dresses are dirty and crammed together too. If you're a bride truly looking for your dress and looking for a supportive staff that will take care of you when you're looking to drop a lot (or even a little, I mean, it is David's Bridal afterall) on a wardrobe for one day, avoid this DB at all costs. read more

Avoid. Just plain avoid. I am certainly not a girl that wants to be fawned over, even on the big day, but there was no attention paid to me here. We arrived a few minutes early and were told there would be a wait. There was certainly a lot of activity in the store, so we decided to browse. I wasn't given a way to track anything I liked, so I tried to remember and have my mom do the same. It was very challenging to look at the dresses on the racks because they were all bunched up in bags and tattered. After waiting much longer than we thought, we were greeted by a very friendly male consultant. He measured me and asked my bra size and then they wanted me to go into a small room to change into their strapless bra, but gave me no dress. He finally asked what I was looking for and I handed him a printout of what I found online. He gave me a dress that didn't meet any of my criteria to put on, and I think it was just to put it on. I went into a room, it was small and cramped, and I had no help to get dressed. There was no mirror in there, and I agree with other comments that you had to emerge from this room to look at yourself, but on display in front of the entire store. I'm not a size 2, so most of my dresses wouldn't zip and I really didn't want my underwear just hanging out. Finally he came back with only two of the eight dresses I was interested in, but never asked me what I found in store that I did like. (I did mention that at the beginning) In fact, I sent my mom to pull my favorite of the ones I saw just to try it on and get out of there. He disappeared as others have said about their consultants, and never came back. I could hear him helping the lady next to me, but never helped me. I gave my mom a look and decided to get dressed and leave. My final moment with him, I was told to go take a look around because clearly I knew what I was looking for better than he did. Yes, I did, but only because he never really asked me, never helped me, never brought me my selections, etc. Seriously, just avoid it. The other stores have more attentive consultants and their pricing really is not too far from the budget dresses at Davids. read more

I was a little nervous for my appointment at David's Bridal because of all the horror stories I've heard about them over the years. Since I didn't buy my dress here, I can't speak for how that process is, but trying on dresses wasn't a terrible experience. I was able to try on a variety of dresses within my budget and my consultant was friendly and helpful. However, I mentioned a few different times that I had saved pictures of specific dresses I wanted to try on/had written down style numbers and never once did my consultant ask to see the pictures in order to pull those dresses. I only ended up trying on some of those dresses as a matter of luck. I didn't buy my dress from David's Bridal because I had better experiences in smaller bridal salons that had better quality dresses for the same prices or less. While I'm glad I gave David's Bridal a chance, I wouldn't recommend it to others. read more

I only went into this David's Bridal because I had to order a bridesmaid dress. I was there shortly after they opened but I did not have an appointment. There were several wedding parties that we're waiting for fitting rooms. I told the women at the front desk that I needed to be fitted for a bridesmaid dress. This women was not friendly and did not seem happy to be there. She just said it will be awhile and I should come back a different day. She did not take my name and information...I noticed she put everyone after me on a waiting list. Coming back to order the dress was not an option. I waited for about 30 minutes. There were 2 or 3 other people that came in after me without an appointment and were helped right away. Maybe my dressing fitting required a specific person- who knows! Finally, I was taken to the fitting rooms with Lizette. She was the only positive thing from this store. She took my measurements and found the dress in the color that I needed. She found shoes and had me try them on together. She made sure that I felt comfortable in the dress. After the fitting...she ordered the dress and explained they would email me when it comes in. Lizette was friendly and professional. Overall- I'm not sure I would go back to this David's Bridal. There are several in the area and it might be worth the drive. I prefer smaller boutiques/shops. You can count on a better selection and service. I don't think I will rush to go back to this store. read more

Ahh wedding dress shopping. One of the best moments of your life. Unless you're me and you hate shopping, attention, and dresses. Then it makes for a pretty grueling afternoon. However, I can't show up to my wedding in jeans, so dress shopping I go. I made an appointment at David's because I know their prices won't be out of this world and would probably have a big selection. Making an appointment was easy. I called a month ahead of time since I know Saturdays are always busy. They called to confirm a few days before my appointment. I show up the day of with my mom, future mother-in-law, future sister-in-law, and my maid of honor. Upon my arrival, I was given a sheet to fill out. It asked where I was getting married, date, size, type of dress, fiance's name and number, etc. I didn't think much of it at the time. Thought it was just info for the appointment. I waited about 10 minutes until I saw my consultant. We just walked around and looked at all the dresses. Finally I met Nick. He was very enthusiastic, kind, and helpful. My MOH was super excited because she felt like we were on Say Yes to the Dress. Oy. I told him my price range and what I was looking for. I had flagged a few dresses on the DB website beforehand, so he pulled those first. With some dresses in hand, we went over to the dressing room. Before we even put on a dress, he fitted me with some coreset-like top and a skirt to wear under the dress. I had to have my MOH help me get the top on. Thank God we're best friends because that was awkward. Then Nick came back in to help me try on dresses. The space was very small. I've been in bigger dressing rooms at department stores. And that's for lower volume clothing than a wedding dress! Somehow, we managed, but it wasn't always easy. He was really great about getting me in the dresses and not looking when I was getting them on, not that I cared that much. I liked his respect, though. I tried on dress after dress and each time I would come out on the runway and show my group, who were seated on some chairs in front of me. There are three or four other dressing rooms on this side, and there was one other woman trying on dresses, so it wasn't too weird. Nick seemed disappointed with my expressions. He said he wanted to see me get excited and so did the manager of the store. I told them both that getting a wedding dress just isn't something I would ever get excited about. They didn't seem to get that, particularly the manager. I could tell she wanted a sale, and I hope she didn't think it was Nick's fault, so I kept reiterating that if I didn't have to wear a dress, I wouldn't. Hopefully she understood. I finally landed on a dress that I liked. I had gone to Here Comes the Bride earlier in the day and had a dress there in mind as well, so I had a hard time deciding. Both were great for different reasons. I didn't leave with a dress because I just had no idea. I ended up going with the one from the other store as it was more my style and way cheaper. The DB dress was at the top of my small budget. Ever since my appointment, my email has been getting spammed with wedding stuff. Hard to know who gave out my info since I've been doing a lot of wedding stuff, but the only place I put my fiance's number down was at DB, and he said he got a call the other day about wedding stuff, so I'm inclined to believe it's them. That aside, I had a good experience overall, but they could definitely use some improvement, particularly with space and the manager's pushiness. DB is still a must-stop though. I'll probably check them out for bridesmaid's dresses, but might try a different location. read more

If I could give a negative 5, I would! I bought my dress here and had it altered by their "specialist" a couple years ago. I don't think she was a specialist at all. She cut off the lace details on the bottom of the dress, even though I was told this would not happen. I was told that the embroidered lace would be un-stitched and moved up so I wouldn't lose the design of the dress. I was told they are SPECIALIZED to do that. Obviously, that was a lie. The dress ended up ripping on the bottom, too, because it was long and one of the bustle loops was ripped. Not only that, but they told my maid of honor that a bridesmaid dress was not available to order. When I checked the David's Bridal website on my phone, the dress was available in the size and color we were looking for! They didn't want her to get the dress on clearance. Don't even bother calling corporate. They are a waste of time and will come up with any excuse not to give any type of refund for their mistake. There are so many other bridal shops with better customer service! I'm sure you'll find one much better than this one! I wish I went somewhere else! read more

I purchased my wedding gown at David's Bridal in August 2015 for my April 2016 wedding. I knew it was too big and needed to get altered, and my consultant (super helpful and friendly) told me everything could be done to my specifications. This past weekend I went in to get the dress altered, and unfortunately, the seamstress wasn't able to do what I originally asked for, because the style and shape of the dress wouldn't allow what I wanted. She knows better than me, totally understandable. Unfortunately the changes she was making, though correct for the dress, were not looking good on me! Everywhere she pinned -again, though it would help keep my dress in the right place- seemed to add 10 lbs to my frame! I wanted the entire bustle to fold under, but this dress wouldn't allow that either. Bummer! I started to get visibly upset -what bride wants to feel like this in her wedding gown?!- and knew there were no returns, but the seamstress told me to go speak with a manager and find a new dress. I wasn't aware I could exchange for equal or greater value, which was wonderful. Though I only had a fitting appointment, the wonderful staff made room for this blubbering bride by finding a free consultant, and giving me personal attention by starting my process from the beginning and finding me a new perfect dress. I was then taken straight back to the seamstress who fit me in (no pun intended) between other appointments and fit me to a 'T' showing me exactly what I will look like for my Big Day. (she even told me how I looked much better in this dress, which was a nice bonus!) I can't thank everyone enough -Majlinda, Shontel, Markesha, and the other wonderful manager whose name escapes me right now (sorry!)- for having patience with my situation, and showing that you really wanted me to be happy by giving me all that wonderful care and attention. Thank you, thank you thank you! read more

For my update, I am adding a star because taking the "I will never be able to wear this shiny-ass dress anywhere else" to their alterations department was a pretty decent experience. The ladies were nice to me, attentive, and finished the alterations exactly when scheduled. However, I was mightily disappointed that the size I ordered was too big -- which I ordered b/c the salesperson said "the samples are stretched out" (grody gross gross!) -- and am I surprised she was wrong? No, par for the course with this place. I really hope I never have to go to a Davids Bridal ever again for the rest of my life. read more

A lot of people don't like going to big chain wedding dress shops, and I would have to admit, that I wasn't keen on going here at first either, but now I'm really glad I did! Even if you don't plan on buying your dress here, David's is a great go-to shop to check out, as it's got a nice big selection of dresses, with all types of styles. I can't vouch for any other David's Bridals, but the one in lombard was great - the staff was very nice, and my consultant, Melissa was awesome! She was very accommodating with my family and I, and in the two times I've gone, she has never been pushy. I am a very indecisive person though, so I actually don't' know if I'm getting my dress here yet, but 1 of the 3 I've narrowed down to is from here. read more

I am pretty sure one of the requirements to work at David's Bridal is a snooty pretentious attitude. WHY? I do not know. In any event, my wedding was last year and we went to plenty of bridal boutiques and was assisted in a much friendlier and considerate manner. I simply went here to try on a bridesmaid dress, purchase and pick up. The first person that helped me with the dress was helpful but she was new. You could tell nobody wanted to give her the time of day and just brushed her off with an attitude of ignorance. Definitely a place to avoid. read more

This review is for the alterations department. I went in a couple of months ago to get my dress alteres, and the staff did such a wonderful job. The woman who helped me listened to all my requests, and was very honest with me on what she thought wouldn't work and why. I also had a minor disaster 2 weeks before my wedding where I noticed a small chunk of my veil was ripped off at the bottom. I brought my veil in, and they simply said "give us 20 seconds" and sure enough shortly after she came out with my veil, and you would never know any damage had happened. They were super friendly, and did a beautiful job. read more

David's Bridal - Bridal Near Me - Lombard, Illinois

I went to Davids Bridal to try on dresses in order to see which style etc I would like. When I first got there I was greeted very nicely at the door by someone who seemed to be a manager there, if not, she was awfully nice. My consultant met with me and asked me what I was looking for, and wrote it down. She then got me a slip (brought my own bra) and had me change in the little room. My bridesmaids were with me and waited for me to try on the first dress. I honestly did not like more than half of the dresses that she brought to me, I honestly felt like she was not listening to what I was telling her I was interested in. My bridesmaids decided to go and look for dresses for me, because they were at least listening to me. The consultant was helping another bride, but it towards the end of her appointment so I thought that maybe she would help me a little bit more, but NO. She would disappear for periods of time and leave me in a dress that I said I didnt like, therefore I had to wait for her to help me get out of the dress, well I had enough of waiting so I had my bridesmaids help me in and out of my dress mostly the whole appointment. The consultant seemed like she did not want to be there any longer and that she just wanted to go home. She was not very personable or talkative. She told me that I only had enough time to try on two more dresses, and it was a hour into my appointment. I didnt even bother trying the last two on, because I was pretty much over the appointment and the experience I had at the store. I most likely will not be coming back, read more
