From the second I walked in, she made me feel comfortable and relaxed, which is huge because dress shopping can feel... a lot. Bea really listened to me -- not just my words, but my reactions -- and somehow always knew what dress to bring in next. I never felt rushed or pushed in any direction, just supported the entire time. And I have to talk about the prices. After shopping in Chicago, seeing the pricing at Wolsfelt's honestly shook me (in the best way). Beautiful, high-quality dresses at prices that actually felt reasonable and not stressful -- which was such a relief. Most of all, the experience felt personal and fun. My experience with Wolsfelt's Bridal was overall good but there are a few honorable mentions to remain honest. First off, the dress quality was beautiful and I didn't necessarily feel pressured to hurry up and pick a dress. In the end I made the right decision and when it came time to alter my dress the seamstress I worked with was wonderful. My dress was ready on time and was perfectly pressed. Also notable about my dress - there was a missing piece when I tried it on that went over my shoulders. I wanted some sort of strap so we purchased additional straps, and was not told about the missing piece. When it came in I was confused and the only reason I was able to get a credit towards alterations for the straps price because they "didn't come in" (I don't think they ever ordered them). In the end this worked out better (i loved the missing shoulder piece)! I was also able to customize my dress, so it was unique and just how i wanted it. I really really loved my dress! On the other hand I decided to make it easy for my bridal party and go there for bridesmaids dresses also. Since I purchased my dress there, they would receive a discount. There weren't very many styles, and they sized them incorrectly. My maid of honor was drowning in her dress, almost too much to alter properly. Luckily we got them in time to alter. Mind you their bridesmaid dresses were already much pricier than some other places. Also after all the fees they added on the discount didn't matter, it was even more. In summary, I definitely recommend shopping here for a wedding dress but not necessarily for your bridal party. read more

My fiancé found her dress just about 24 hours before her appointment with Wolsfelt's at a different store. She emailed Wolsfelt's as soon and she purchased her dress to cancel her appointment, which they never responded to, and then continued to charge her the $75 cancellation fee. This really bummed us out considering we are trying to save for a wedding. With this 48 hour cancellation notice I would not even recommend making an appointment with them. read more

I recently had to rent tuxedos for the groomsmen in my wedding party and I had a wonderful experience at Wolsfelt's Bridal. The Wolsfelt team really took care of me and the other men. Dona was my main point of contact and she was awesome. She made sure that everyone was accurately measured and had the best fitting tux. She made sure every detail was taken care of. The price was the same as rentals at big chain stores. I can't even imagine going to one now knowing the service you get at Wolsfelt's. Oh, and my wife bought her wedding gown there too. I wanted to buy a dress from them but their lack of transparency and the staff's misalignment on store polcy drove me elsewhere. I'm not someone who leaves reviews or a bridezilla but this is baffling to me and could save someone else a headache. If you are someone who wants to go look at dresses prior to bringing your group of girlfriends with you, or if you want to check out the outlet center first, be prepared and ask about appointment fees ahead of time. I made an appointment to visit the outlet store - I was told these were 30 minute appointments, and if I don't find anything I like, then I can schedule an additional appointment to look at dresses at the main store. Their website also says these are 30 minute appointments. Knowing it was a 30 minute appointment, I went on my lunch break. They texted me 2 hours before my appointment and asked me to come earlier. It wasnt ideal, but I understand staffing issues, so I was flexible. I didn't find anything at the outlet store so they asked if I wanted to see the gowns at the main store. I said sure, but I only had 30 minutes because it was my break, and thats all we had scheduled. When I was at the main store, another employee asked if I was in a rush, and I told her that it was clear to me this was a 30 minute appointment to look at the outlet store only, so I didn't have a ton of extra time to spend at the main store. I picked a few out and explained I didn't have time to try them on, but can schedule another appointment. I came back for the second appointment (one hour long) and Amy was super helpful and I picked out 3 dresses. I said I'd love to bring my mom with me to see the three I've narrowed down, but was informed that it'd be a $50 dollar deposit for a third appointment. Amy said it technically wasn't a third appointment since I didnt try any on the first 30 minute visit (and because it was an outlet store visit), so she was going to get that waived. Bottom line is, management considers it a third appointment and require a $50 deposit to try the gowns on a second time. I had all intentions of purchasing $2,000 gown from them but their lack of transparency has changed my mind. It seems there's a disconnect between the staff who helped me and the staff who scheduled the initial outlet store appointment. I understand a need for a deposit for a third appointment but the sales person themselves said it wasn't a third appointment and the deposit policy doesn't apply in this situation. The person who scheduled my initial appointment dropped the ball because it seems that the entire staff thought I was there for a full appointment. Seems bizarre that a competitive business built on customer service won't admit there was a mix up and give the customer the benefit of the doubt and complete a 2k transaction. They need to get their staff aligned on policy and get their schedule straight. I ended up going elsewhere and spent 3k on a dress at a store that has amazing customer service. read more

I've heard great things about Wolsfelt's so I was very excited about my appointment. I booked my appointment 5 weeks in advance. When I booked my appointment there was a lot of open availability on the website. I got a text from them a week before my appointment saying their system messed up and they double booked on that day/time so I'd need to reschedule my appointment. This was really disappointing because as I mentioned above, I booked this appointment far in advance. When my guests and I arrived on time, we had to wait for 20 minutes to start. Wolsfelt does give brides a heads up that they will need to change in front of their guests (the heads up is appreciated) but I was stunned to hear this. I felt uncomfortable throughout the whole process. The room we were in was small and tight and dim, with not flattering lighting. There was just a curtain in between myself and another bride changing/ trying on dresses. The consultant we worked with was very friendly and knowledgeable but very "sales-y". I've been to other bridal boutiques and this one was the most direct, and I'd even say pushy, with their sales approach. Overall, I'm giving 2 stars and not 1 because they had a wide selection of dresses and I do have a friend who had a great experience buying her dress there. read more

This is a hard review. We thought the selection was good. There are tons of options for anyone here. Good inventory for sure and the woman that helped me was very good. We felt this place was very outdated and antiquated. Meaning they keep all their appintemts on paper and it just doesn't seem organized. Called us multiple times about items they weren't sure if we took or they had (like shape-wear we purchased). Also, they asked for tips on everything. I think when you are spending thousands on a dress this should be built into the price I should not need to tip on top of this especially if you are buying from the boutique. Also, they should pay their staff accordingly to give a good level of service and not ask/expect additional tips. This leaves a bad taste in my mouth and makes us feel awkward especially when are you visiting so many times. Also, for my alternations it was very expensive, more than they told me it would be about because they told me to order a size even bigger than I was and then it had to be taken it everywhere. So over $600 for alternations on top of my dress. All and all if I did it again would not go here driving from the city each time, I could have found something closer it's not like this was any cheaper. Also. There were some issues with my alternations and needed to be done more than I think it should have been. There was no communication between staff as well. Again, I think their processes are out-dated writing things down and not having a central system. read more

I had a very poor experience here. At this salon it is standard to get changed in front of your guests and the stylist. It was very awkward, and my stylist often left me standing in my undergarments while she was talking to my guests, and holding the dress I was to try on in her hands. I was standing for minutes at a time, undressed, waiting for her. It was quite uncomfortable and somewhat demeaning. She brought me multiple dresses over my budget and expected me to try them on. She also repeatedly brought me dresses similar to the ones I just said I did not like. I specifically stated 2 seam lines/ places that I didn't like and were not flattering on me. She continued to bring dresses with these same fits/ seams. She was unprofessional and seemed annoyed I didn't like the dresses instead of trying to find something I liked more. Wolsfelt's bridal was the third shop I went to and where I ultimately ended up finding my dress. I loved that they had so many updated dress options. I really liked the consultation that helped me find my dress; she really listened to what I was looking for and helped me find it. She also was not pushy at all and had patience with me. I also loved my seamstress, Rosa. I altered the bodice of my dress quite a bit to add applicas, and she did a great job. The fit was also great after she altered it - definitely recommend Rosa. Three things I did not like: 1. We scheduled an appointment for my mom to find a dress; not sure if it was a busy day but we really were not helped at all during our appointment. We ended up leaving with no dress and a little annoyed. 2. Seven if my bridesmaids purchased their dress from Wolsfelt - the dresses were absolutely beautiful, but they didn't do a great job fitting my bridesmaids. They recommended my sister buy additional fabric ($100 extra), and when her dress came in it was enormous on her and she just had it all taken off; I felt bad it was such a waste of money. My other sister they also recommended she purchase a larger size and her dress was falling off of her it was so big. They also recommended I size up and my dress was huge when it came in (Rosa made the fit amazing but alterations were very expensive). 3. The applicas they gave to Rosa were for the wrong dress and not the additional applicas I ordered for my dress. Thankfully I noticed it was different when I was in alterations - they got it fixed, but I was shocked for that mix up where the wrong applicas could have been sewn onto my dress. Ultimately I would recommend Wolsfelt. I was so happy with my dress and got so many compliments. read more

I was planning just to come and try some dresses to see at least what style I like, but ended up buying one right away. I lost 35lb before wedding and seemstress fixed everything for me a few days before wedding. We rented tuxedoes for groom and groomsmens from this place as well. We had a few guys from different states and they just sent measurements to bridal salon and all suites fitted everybody perfectly. Would highly recommend. Wolsfelt's was the third (and final) dress shop that I went to. They have a large selection of dresses at a variety of price ranges. Both Jessica and Sarah helped me during my appointment and they found a dress that fit my vision! It was easy to communicate with the rest of the Wolsfelt's team throughout the wedding process through email and text. Antonia was my seamstress and she was wonderful. She paid attention to detail and kept trying different things to help the dress fit as well as possible. When I picked up my dress, it was nicely packaged and they told me exactly how to handle it until the wedding day. My dress did end up dragging on the ground the day of, which caused me to trip, but I think this had to do with my height (I'm 5'1) and the carpet at my venue. I would recommend trying to walk around as much as possible during fittings to try to get the fit as close as possible. In addition, my husband got his suits from here. The price is comparable to other tuxedo shops and they really focus on detail. My husband said they took many more measurements than the last place he went to get a tux. Many of the guys said it was the most comfortable suit as well. When we went to pick it up, they went through each bag with us to ensure everything was included. read more

Update: I was disappointed that my final dress fitting was almost a full month before my wedding and I ended up losing so much weight from catching the flu that my dress didn't fit right on the day of the wedding, the way it had at the final fitting. I wish I had pushed for a fitting a week prior to my wedding as has been the standard with the experience of many of my friends at other bridal shops. Old review: Lorrie, I cannot express HOW MUCH I truly APPRECIATE the time and patience you had with me today!! I walked into Wolsfelt's completely unsure about what I wanted. I had already tried on over 25 dresses at other places. She was the first one who truly took the time to understand my wants and concerns. I found myself in Wolsfelt's for a less than happy reason. My grandmother, but the word grandmother seems inappropriate because she was more of my mother than my grandmother, had just passed. My grandmother had spent her life taking care of me and my siblings. Giving up much of her life dreams and financial security to make sure that we always had everything we have ever needed and wanted. She often went without the things she needed to be able to care for me. As the last token of my appreciation for her I wanted to make sure that she would be buried in something that was beautiful and fit for the angel she was. Me and my sister walked into Wolslfelt's with no appointment and were warmly greeted by Lori. They were very busy when we came in. There were beautiful brides all over the place picking out their wedding gowns and their bridal party attire, but Lori ran around attending her customers and made time to bring us many beautiful dresses until we found the perfect one to put on my grandma. She was not only helpful, but loving and comforting during one of the toughest moments of my life. Not only did she help us find the dress, a few days later we had an issue with the dresses arms being too sheer, and Lori again made time last minute to find us a shawl that will cover her arms. I not only recommend Wolsfelt's but wholeheartedly endorse them for all bridal, prom, funeral, or other formal party activities. You will be met with compassionate caring staff. You will be cared for like family. In my darkest hour I was met with love, I was given a shoulder to cry on, and consideration for my situation. Don't give them a credit card number prior to your visit. There was a second appointment scheduled with the agreement that a phone call by us would suffice if we decided to cancel, and no fee would be charged for missing it. We called timely to cancel the appointment and our card was charged immediately a cancellation fee. When we called to try and resolve it, the Manager was very rude and told us they would call us the next day. They never did! I have been in sales for 30 years and don't do business this way. I had an amazing experience at Wolsfelt's. From finding the most perfect dress for my wedding day, through the tailoring process, and pickup. Ula, my seamstress, was unbelievably skilled and made my dress fit flawlessly. She offered suggestions and recommendations to help make my dress perfect. I had multiple fittings and each tweak made was perfect. The pickup process was easy as well and my dress was pressed, hung, and wrapped well for transport! Wolsfelts was the first salon I went to when looking for my wedding dress. I was interested in a specific design, and out of the salons that carried the dresses, I chose to go to Wolsfelts due to its location near the Aurora BNSF train station so it would be easily accessible from Chicago if needed. I was able to easily call to make an appointment over winter break to start looking at dresses. Andrea was super helpful when it came to guiding me through the store and helping me pick out some of the dresses that I was interested in already. She also pulled a few dresses that were similar to the ones I was interested in but hadn't already pulled. She was nothing but professional in the process as I tried on the dresses and making sure I looked great before showing my family. Once I decided on a dress, she was sure to go through all the costs associated with the purchase and the measuring of the skirt so that it could make the skirt shorter for me at the time they were making the dress. The salon called me earlier than expected when my dress was ready, and it was easy to schedule an appointment for alterations. My seamstress was the sweetest and most candid woman. She helped me answer questions I had regarding the little details and she gave me her honest opinion. My dress fit beautifully the day of my wedding. The pick up process was seamless and it was in mint condition when I picked it up right before my wedding.
