Dr. David Wey Lee did an amazing job on my trigger thumb release surgery.
I've had some not so great experiences with hand surgeons in the past, so I conducted extensive research on surgeons in the area who specialized in trigger finger and trigger thumb release surgery AND were also highly regarded by their patients. His positive reviews from past patients, as well as his credentials stood out from the rest and made me feel comfortable choosing him.
Dr. Lee is professional, direct, and thorough. He's clearly very busy though, so be prepared to slow the pace of the conversation down or ask follow-up questions if you're still unclear about something. After my initial visit with him, I felt well informed about the options available to me and walked into surgery knowing exactly what to expect.
I was incredibly nervous having my procedure done while I was awake (I've had negative experiences with that in the past), but he and his team did their best to keep me calm, make me comfortable, and keep me distracted. They talked with me through the entire procedure, which took about 7 minutes. I was able to move my thumb right away, even before he had the opportunity to stitch up the wound. It was the first time I had been able to use my thumb in over 3 months.
My recovery was practically painless and otherwise uneventful, and I appreciate that Dr. Lee prioritized pain mitigation as a primary focal point of the recovery strategy. Fortunately, I needed a little more than Aleve for post-surgery pain relief... And even then, I only needed it for the first day or two.
The stitches are out and the wound has healed nicely. I've got one more follow-up appointment with him in about 6 weeks to make sure that my extended recovery is progressing as intended.
I greatly appreciate the care and attention that was provided to me as a patient and I cannot recommend Dr. David Wey Lee highly enough. He's a great surgeon and he did a great job storing full mobility to my dominant hand. read more
