I started seeing Dr. Jane during my third trimester. My only regret was not seeing her earlier in my pregnancy for aches and pains!

I am really glad my brother referred me to Dr. Chow. I am a working artist and I had run into a job that involve some emergency computer work, which meant that I foolishly ended up overworking my drawing hand. I was very scared about my hand because that's how I make my living. An artist friend suggested I see a chiropractor, asap. I remember that my brother had been to Dr. Chow for a pain in his leg and liked him, so I called the office and I got an appointment. I am extremely happy with Dr. Chow's work. I now have 100% full functionality of my drawing hand and I have knowledge of how to avoid this sort of repetitive pain in the future. What impressed me so much was when I was asked to describe where the pain was, I didn't know exactly, but described it the best I could. He knew exactly where I was hurting. He (gently) placed his fingers on the exact spot of my thumb where the tendon was. He knows his anatomy and he knows what to do to relieve the stress or the injury. I was so impressed, I even made an appointment for a service that is extra - I had my running gait analyzed. That was by Dr. Chow, as well. The front office folks are incredibly nice and very flexible. I enjoyed chatting with them as I went in and out. Very friendly. I got the impression that Boone Wellness is focused on my health overall, whether it something that chiropractic work can help or other therapies that they offer or even in just asking how I am. I've had about 15 sessions (still ongoing) to this place so I can confidently say that I am pretty familiar with this practice. My first car injury occurred two years ago and I found this place on Yelp, though it had very few reviews. Nonetheless, it was still highly rated so I decided to give it a shot. Upon arrival, I found out that it's a husband and wife team that run the show; it was a fairly new practice around the time I first came so, it should speak volumes that I find myself back at Boone Wellness to find neck/shoulder pain relief from yet another recent car accident. The practice has grown where it's a bit more difficult to not get the time slots you want (that's just the selfish part of me) but that's only because they have grown since my first visit. The sessions are about 30 min and personalized to your injury. I've been to other chiropractors where they just put you on machines/massage beds and let you be which is not my cup of tea. Dr. Chow has the most pleasant and friendliest demeanor (he even encourages you to whine if you feel pain during the appt since that's his way of knowing which areas are more sensitive!) and takes time with your adjustments. His practice is the only place I've experienced the Graston technique and Dry Kneedling (a derivative of accupuncture) and though it hurts a bit at the moment he's performing it, the end result is so worth the relief you will feel. The place is always tidy and the most I've ever had to wait upon arrival was 5 min which is a huge bonus because let's all be real--who wants to wait at the doctor's office for an appointment though it's almost to be expected these days. I'll be 100% honest here--if it wasn't for Dr. Chow, I wouldn't be able to live my life the way that I do today. To preface all this, I played football for seven years (four in high school, three in college) and currently compete in both powerlifting and Brazilian jiu-jitsu. Needless to say, I've accumulated a variety of injuries over a short period of time. I first met Dr. Chow in June 2016 (I happened to work across the street from his office at the time) with a hip impingement and chronic migraines. I was told by an orthopedic that I'd need hip surgery and I was willingly to do whatever it takes to avoid that scenario since I could not imagine a life without the gym for any extended period of time. Upon our first meeting, I quickly realized two important aspects about Dr. Chow: 1) he is an incredibly kind and caring human being and 2) he is extremely knowledgeable in not just chiropractic care, but also a variety of other physiological disciplines. By combining innovative treatments such as graston and dry needling with corrective exercises, my hip quickly became pain free and my migraines went away after a short period of time. Orthopedists made me feel like I was all out of options but serendipity lead me to Dr. Chow which gave me the hope I needed to overcome the pain and obstacles that I faced at the time. Even with the hip pain and migraines gone, I still go to Dr. Chow on an almost weekly basis to treat any other injuries that I might have since his treatments enable to me perform everyday at a high level. All in all, I used to think it was game over for my athletic career but Dr. Chow's positive personality and intelligent approach to treatment showed me that there's always more than one solution to a problem. Even if I have to leave the DMV area someday, I'll still fly down to Dr. Chow if I ever have an issue (so, expect me to visit often!). Friendly and they really spend personalized time with you. They were also flexible with scheduling and able to see both myself and my spouse the same days that we tweaked something - even as new patient. I should mention that if you're expecting the standard mechanical roller to standard big cracks, this place will seem very weird. Instead, they spend time hand massaging, stretching, or "guasha"-ing specific areas based on what you're feeling that day. No big cracks, but I feel like the approach is more holistic. read more

Third, they are just very nice and friendly people that you want to come back and see again :) I came in with several issues. I had some pain in my right hand that was bothering me for several years and a few areas in my back and neck that needed some treatment. The doctor addressed all problems in one visit! Moreover, he guided my through every step of the treatment, so I had a clear understanding of why and how this is going to help me. A friend recommended me to Boone Wellness and I am very happy that they did! I started seeing Dr. Chow about a month ago after never having been to a chiropractor before in my life. The receptionist, Joanna, was very friendly and professional right off the bat. For the initial assessment, the first appointment was scheduled to be longer than the subsequent ones. Dr. Chow was very thorough to make sure he could really hone in on what was causing me pain and talked through what lifestyle habits I have which could be making the pain worse. He is very personable and made me feel very comfortable for the whole appointment, talking me through exactly what was coming next and what techniques he was using. I have been seeing Dr. Chow for the last several months as I was not happy with my previous chiropractor and needed something closer to work. He has been using the Graston technique Dry Needling and the Active Release methods on my neck and I have experienced marked improvement overall. For the past year I have been getting back to having an active lifestyle, and along the way I have acquired a some bumps and bruises. A few months ago I began having a nagging problem in my lower back, and began looking for a chiropractor. I used to go all the way out to Fairfax from DC, but having a baby has made this impossible for me. Luckily I stumbled upon Boone Wellness and prompted scheduled a visit with the whole family in tow. My wife is an avid runner who has problems with her IT band, so we scheduled a Sat morning appointment. The office was very nice and the staff very welcoming even for a Sat morning appointment. They had lots of toys and a small area for my baby to play with. After speaking with Dr. Chow he checked me out and he was able to pinpoint my problem areas and what was really behind my lower back issues. He provided great chiropractic treatment and came up with a plan for me in the coming months to continue to receive treatment as well as things I can do at home as well. Really great team of chiropractors who are very friendly, knowledgeable, and communicative. I came in with several chronic pain involving my neck and lower back due to old sports injuries and daily bodily "wear and tear" from my WODs. So much more than your usual chiropractor, Dr Janet Huh spends the entire appointment focusing on relieving your pain and teaching you strength training and stretching exercises to improve/correct your condition. Believe me, this is not your typical Tens/heatpad/crunch office: the techniques used hurt! But the after effects are pretty miraculous. After 4 sessions and doing the few short daily exercises my body feels structurally improved: improved posture and what was once chronic hip pain eliminated. In addition to all this, Dr Janet is one of the nicest, kindest, most accessible human beings on the planet. Going to see the doctor seemed ok at first really friendly. Nice to talk to while being treated, but when it comes to followups I am better off googling and YouTubing what information was given to me. Both visits I only left with a receipt in hand, but I have a real issue with the lack of follow-ups. I requested some form of official documentation after treatment. I also requested the exercises to be given in writing which response to me was that it will all be sent to me in an email. All I received was ailment name and that I should be seen twice a week, good enough for work excuse I guess. Then when the doctor said he was surprised to see me again for 2nd visit I feel it is fair to assume that it was foreordained... Who cares I guess. Lastly, while in office I asked the administrative assistant to send me an email of my appointment, I didn't get that until I called back asking for it. read more
