I had a horrible experience with Dr. David Miller. He did not listen to anything I had to say about my hand, arm or shoulder. He focused on my thumbs that I am aware are arthritic, but not the reason I came in to see him. Nor did he suggest the thumbs are in any way connected to the other issues. I left with no recommended course of action to address my swollen right hand that I am unable to use, and a shoulder so painful I cannot sleep. He did tell me to take turmeric come back and see him in 4 to 6 weeks. Hard no on the return visit. I have made an appointment with another hand, arm, shoulder specialist but am suffering through the time wasted with Dr. Miller. I will never recommend him. He also left me waiting for him in the closed exam room for 30 minutes. read more

My son injured his hand playing baseball and or original Orthopedist couldn't figure it out after an x-ray and MRI. She suggested going to Dr. Miller and right away he was able to determine that my son broke his Hammate bone. He gave us the option to give it time to let it heal on it's own (which originally sounded like the best option), but then he stated that it will likely break again given that my son plays multiple sports. He then gave the option to have surgery to remove the broken bone. The surgery was quick and easy. His entire staff was wonderful as they took care of my son and all of his concerns. He was healed in 6 weeks and is back to hitting and working out in preparation for his coming Spring basball season. We're thankful that our son was able to find someone so knowledgable and caring to help us through this. read more

Post-op thumb joint surgery I began having pain in my wrist. I did not have this pain before the surgery. I had one or two post-op visits with Dr. Miller. discussing this pain. I then saw Dr. Miller 4 months later. I was upset. He suggested I should "talk to a professional". He meant a mental health professional. Two weeks later I returned to get an xray. The xray showed no problems. Dr. Miller walked in the room and said to the assistant "is she going to keep coming back until she gets the answer she wants." He said to me you're older, healing takes longer, "you'll be fine in the end". I decided to get a 2nd opinion. She ordered an MRI. The MRI showed I have a completely torn ligament causing fluid to build up and cause pain. I had the same surgery with Dr.Miller 8 years ago. Easy recovery. He was pleasant, efficient and respectful. This time, in my opinion, he was rude, cavalier and disrepectful. I will not refer anyone. read more

Dr Miller did carpal tunnel surgery on both my wrists. He was very pleasant and explained everything in detail and answered all my questions. I never felt hurried, which is a good trait for a doctor. He accommodated my teaching schedule by doing my surgery last on the two days, which I very much appreciated. read more

Dr. David Miller is a very kind and caring surgeon. He and his staff are invested in diagnosing the problem and working with you to decide what the next steps are. Dr. Miller doesn't rush to surgery right away. I have basal joint arthritis in my thumb and was in a excruciating pain. We tried an injection first but surgery was necessary. I've seen Dr Miller twice now, once for a broken finger and once for a shattered wrist. Both required surgery and the wrist was especially worrisome because the joint surface was in pieces. I'm a very active guy, have no plans to slow down, and the last thing I want is arthritis or a wrist with limited functionality. His work on my wrist was complicated including plating and pins, and it was done with great precision and care, just the way way I needed it to be done. And now I'm healing up great and active again. I will say this without reservation. Dr Miller is a perfectionist who does things right and is highly expert in his craft. He cares deeply about his patients and his craft, and it is clear when you meet his excellent team that this culture is pervasive throughout their group. And if it matters to you, he's just a terrific guy. Super nice, confident and reassuring. And by the way, his PAs are just like him except they don't do surgery. Also excellent. My initial visit to the doctor's office for my consultation was less than pleasant. I showed up at the office 15 minutes prior to the appointment to complete my patient information as requested. The office personnel were very cordial and professional, however, the appointment time was 10:45. It was not busy, only a handful of people in the waiting room, but I sat in the waiting room until 11:35. The day of the surgery, I was told to be at the surgery center at 11AM for a 12:30 surgery. I was told by a nurse at 12:40 that Dr. Miller was running 15 minutes late and he eventually showed at 1:15...45 minutes late...for surgery. I also waited for over 30 minutes to get in for my appointment to have my stitches removed at the doctor's office following surgery. And as pleasant as his PA was, she was the only saving grace in this experience. Some people may not mind sitting around for hours, playing on their cell phone, but I'm not one of them. I have never had an experience that had so little value for someone else's time. read more

Arrived 10 mins early for a 15:15 appointment. Then, I waited. And waited. And waited some more. At 16:15, I asked how much longer the wait was going to be. I was told that there were 5-6 people ahead of me, still. Really? As in, another hour at least. Classic case of a doctor thinking that his time is more important than everyone else's. How about telling patients, "Hey, just so you know, we're running two hours behind today. Would you like to reschedule?" I demanded that I get my copay refunded and left, and certainly won't be back. There are many other doctors who know how to manage their schedules and you'll only wait 10-15 minutes tops. Go there. read more

I have been seeing Dr. Miller over the last 2 years to work through MULTIPLE joint issues in both of my arms. In that time, he has worked to "fix" problems with my wrist (ganglion cyst), my elbow (both lateral and medial epicondyle release), and both of my shoulders (sprained rotator cuff in one and bursitis in the other). When I first saw Dr. Miller, ALL of these issues were simultaneous and I had been in pain for some time. It was impacting my work (my job is computer-oriented), my sleep (I woke up all during the night due to pain from moving either of my arms), my ability to perform the simplest daily tasks (such as lifting a dinner plate, holding a glass, or opening a jar), my physical fitness (I am a runner and moving my arms while running was excruciating), and my interaction with my family (I could no longer walk my dog, and even a hug was painful). I had never had these types of issues before and was frustrated, exhausted, and getting a little depressed to be quite honest. Dr. Miller listened to my complaints and did not dismiss me as some crazy hypochondriac (for which I am grateful - I was starting to wonder myself). He did not try to rush me out the door in my allotted 10-15 minutes of doctor time, but instead considered each of my complaints and began to formulate a treatment path that day, and I received my first treatment without having to reschedule a longer visit later down the road. His conservative treatment approach to minimize surgery (although I opted for surgery in the end for the elbow), including physical therapy, was truly appreciated, as the injuries were mainly in my dominant arm, and babying a surgical site makes it hard to get anything done (and I have plenty to do). His surgical approach included detailed explanations to my spouse and me of what was going to happen (pre-op), what actually happened (post-op), and what is next. He never claimed that surgery would magically fix all of the problems I had, and did well to realistically manage my expectations as far as pain management and healing times. Plus the surgical scars are practically invisible! He always took the time to explain the diagnosis (including diagrams, since I can be a little slow on the uptake) and provide me with informed treatment options and a healing path forward. I always felt that he was more interested in treating me as a whole patient, rather than just my injuries. He has been conservative on the timing of my returning to "normal" (despite my impatience) to make sure I do not cause further damage or experience unnecessary pain. I highly recommend Dr. Miller and his team. They have been pleasant, professional, informative, and patient. You would be lucky to have Dr. Miller on your wellness team! read more

Dr. Miller and his staff are great and they spend the time to know you and your specific needs. My mom has had two Carole tunnel surgery's. And my daughter had nerve/muscle repair surfer after a band saw accident. It was the best possible surgery and outcome that anyone could ask for! read more

I made an appointment with Dr. Miller for 11:30. At 12:10, I asked how backed up the doctor was. They told me I was the next to go back. I asked how many people were already back int he rooms waiting and I was told 4 people were ahead of me. My appointment was at 11:30 and I was on time. I would have been there for AT LEAST another hour on the 45 minutes I already waited to be seen. The front staff made a point to tell me the doctor is a specialist so he is dealing with important issues. I was going to reschedule but asked if this was the norm to wait this ridiculous amount of time and I was told it was the norm. So I canceled my appointment, got a refund for my copay and rescheduled with another "specialist". I refuse to support this type of behavior. read more
