Dr Vitta was very thorough, addressing some eye health concerns I had and putting me at ease. I followed up with a purchase of frames and lenses, working with Ms Colette Mack. This is the most accurate prescription I've had in years! I can see so clearly now! I am grateful to the terrific staff at this office and I would recommend them highly to anyone needing eyecare!

They were not able to get my glasses or contacts made for w week!!! Guess the point of me going there was mute, since I had a weeks stay. Took Rx to Lens Crafters in Citadel mall nearby and they had the glasses done in a couple hours!! Also I told receptionist I was only in town a short time and to call me AS SOON AS CONTACTS ARRIVED. No one ever called me. I had to call them the last day of my trip, and they said "oh ya, your contacts are here" I was NOT HAPPY. Mediocre service. At best. I'd go somewhere else Went back because my prescription was not correct. Could see better without the glasses/contacts than with. Waited 25 minutes. Someone came in after me, was seen and checked out, all while I waited there. Dr Smith is the worst. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!

Thankfully, my bank flagged the issue and helped protect me. When I contacted Ocean Eye about it, they directed me to resolve it through my bank rather than addressing it themselves. This experience left me very uneasy, and I won't be returning.

I had my first visit to Ocean Eye at Carnes Crossroads last Friday (1/10/25) and the experience at…read morethe time was ok. I got there on time for my appointment but proceeded to wait at least 10 minutes if not more before I was taken back by a technician for the eye exam portion ($39 out of pocket for the digital exam). The digital exam was quick and easy enough that it took less than 10 minutes. After some brief Q&A with the technician, she then told me that the doctor would be right in. I waited what felt like almost a half an hour (although it was probably about 15-20 minutes) for the doctor to come in and finish. It went ok and Dr. Palmer answered my questions, provided me with my prescription (as I usually get my glasses online) and I left satisfied. It wasn't until I got home that I looked at my prescription and realized that there was no PD (pupillary distance) # listed. Thinking it was just an oversight, I called back today to get it and they said it would be an additional $25 because it's only given when buying glasses from them. Excuse me? Now it may be because I don't go to the eye doctor often, (and charging people extra for the faster more updated eye exam I understand) but you're going to charge an additional $25 just because they choose not to pay for your glasses (frames and lenses) too? If I had known that I would have to pay over $60 just for an exam and a PD number on my prescription I never would've gone there. Now being that I don't go to the eye doctor all the time, that may be a new thing that I just didn't know about but I was very clear from the beginning of my appointment what my intentions were and the technician nor the doctor did not tell me that while I could get a prescription from them it wouldn't include a necessary detail without a additional $25. I might have even paid it if it was $5 or less but I just expected it to be included with the $39 digital eye exam I was already paying extra for. I'm sorry Ocean Eye but this was the first and the last time I will be going to see you. I'll take my business elsewhere if you expect me to pay over $60 for an eye exam and prescription that includes the pupillary distance number needed for accurate eyeglasses.

Each time, I was told they didn't know where the order was, that they would call the lab, and that I would call me back shortly. The lack of communication, accountability, and follow-through was extremely frustrating and disappointing. Ultimately, I had to request my prescription and take my business elsewhere. I would not recommend this office based on my experience. I chose new frames and hi end lenses due to having access to VSP (which is why I chose this Optometrist). I received the glasses and have been in for adjustments at least 8-10 times in the month or so I have had them. Yesterday I asked about an exchange, I got a no sorry 'all sales final' response. Frankly I was shocked, annoyed and angry, and I still am. How is anyone to know that the frames are not going to be a good fit - unless an employee says something? Do they think we go out of our way find a poor fit? So, I guess now I have to go in every few days to get the frame adjusted. I was told, we can't send them back to the mfr, we can't sell them so you have to keep them. In other words they do NOT stand behind their own products, and they have your $$ and you are stuck with poor fitting frames. So, future buyers, be 1000000% sure your frames are a good fit or else you will be SOL, just like me. I cannot at this stage recommend them, unless they step up and fix this bad situation.
