Every once in a while there is a little communication issue but you just have to be your own advocate and remember that the office has thousands of patients, so we need to be both the patient and have patience. The trust and care I feel from Dr. R is total. He listens, answers questions, takes my entire health into account when weighing all the options and I just could not feel like I am in better more qualified and competent hands. I also appreciated that we tried PT and steroid injections prior to jumping to surgery - even if they did not grant me any relief. That said, the process as we got closer to my surgery date was great. The pre-op staff that calls to do the intake and then again, the day or so before surgery to review arrival time and how to get to the proper location is great and it is SO NICE to feel so supported. Most recently, I got the flu end of Feb/start of March 2011...and 3 days later, had a brutal staph infection gaining ground in my shoulder for a week while I said "I've just got to gut it out, it's the *flu*". Wrong. (It then migrated to my ribcage as well...cuz hey, even bacteria love ribs n sauce!! :p ) Dr. Bolshoun saw me about 1/2 the time I was in the hospital, Dr. Piunkett the other 1/2 of the time. While the cause of my staph will remain unknown as to an absolute certainty, both these doctors (along with the excellent staff at Rose) took care of me and nursed me back to health during and after the 2, yes *2*, hospital visits I had within a month's time (2nd time was when it migrated to my ribcage). Dr. Bolshoun is very thorough and easy to communicate with, and a pleasure to deal with. David, one of the MA's there, is also a great asset to Mayfair and has helped me when I've called in times past with questions or "need this somewhat urgently" type prescription calls. On October 14th, they received a pathology report indicating a cancerous tumor in my appendix. I had a post-operative appointment with Mary and a follow-up call regarding my bloodwork results. Unfortunately, Mary only reviewed the bloodwork results and failed to inform me of my cancer diagnosis twice within three days. When I called to inquire, Clemmy informed me that it was not feasible for them to read every report that comes in and expressed her apologies. She also mentioned that Mary would likely call to apologize as well, but she has not done so. I believed my primary care physician was responsible for handling situations like this, especially when the hospital and surgeon did not contact me. I relied on Mary to review the report that had been placed in my file two days earlier. If you are looking for a doctor's office that does not prioritize reading every report, Willard Family Practice and Mary may be suitable for you.

I highly recommend him for several reasons. First and more importantly, he listens, totally listens to what we have to say. His answers are well thought out and always right on target. Secondly, he is extemely understanding. He understands what we are trying to tell him and answers every last question we have. We are in our eighties, so we have had the normal number or more than normal issues that those in their eighties experience and he really takes the time to answer us. His recommendations for specialist are excellent! Lastly, his staff is excellent. We are able to talk to someone and are able to schedule appointments easily. Lab reports come back to us in a very reasonable amount of time. In conclusion, we would not drive four hours to see our primary care doctor if he was not the absolute best doctor.
