Two most important things to look for in a plastic surgeon:…read more1) A perfectionist 2) A sincere regard for the well-being of the patient Having a childhood friend who is a surgical nurse proved invaluable for me as there is no better way to find out who the best surgeons are than asking someone who actually works in the operating room with them. When I mentioned to her that I wanted a lipo procedure, she told me that there was only one surgeon to whom she would refer me - Dr. Peter Schwartz. At the hospital, she worked with many of the top surgeons in the area. She saw their work and how they regarded their patients. While there was one other surgeon who was also technically excellent, Dr. Schwartz was at a level that he and the others were unable to attain. Dr. Schwartz has an artistic eye that the others don't have thereby producing results that the others cannot replicate. He has techniques that he employs that the others do not. His results are unmatched. She also said that he is a perfectionist. You want that in a plastic surgeon. "Good enough" is NOT an option. Because he is a perfectionist, he expects the same from the surgical team that is in that room. Additionally, and probably most importantly, she told me that he is the only plastic surgeon she truly trusted because of his concern for his patients. I was extremely pleased with my lipo procedure - the results were beyond my expectations. Subsequently, he removed excess skin from above my eyes and tightened my neck. More recently, he performed a breast lift. After my lipo and breast lift procedures, he contacted me daily for several days to make certain there were no issues. I personally have left his office without having any procedures completed because he didn't think it was necessary at the time. I find his honesty comforting and rare- Dr Romero listens to your concerns, discusses your wants, and will give you options, especially options in different price points. Your face is not something to take lightly. He does offer coupons and specials and I've heard he may be expensive in comparison- but it is well worth the professionalism, and outcome. You leave looking well rested and definitely younger. A hidden gem.

But…read morethings have changed there dramatically ..you can't even get an appointment by phone ...you have to text and they don't answer you back sometimes. You have to text repeatedly ..that right there just makes me nervous! That as well as the fact that Dr. Romero goes away for very long periods like a month at a time to his "farm" in the Philippines... Whatever that means and leaves his nephew who he says he trained personally and who is not a doctor nor a dermatologist nor an aesthetician to do his work. He did some work on my face and I was not at all pleased with the results. When I mentioned it to Dr. Romero he became completely standoffish. I had never made a complaint about anything in the entire time that I've been there and I gently described to him my issue and he told me that it was all in my head that from where he was standing it looked great. Well it did not look great and I'm not going to have somebody tell me that it's all in my head. Several other reviewers here have said the same thing about him for years now. He cannot stand one drop of criticism. If that were my customer I would not treat them the way that he has treated those of us who have brought up a concern about our treatment. Very unprofessional also very un compassionate. I now go to a board certified dermatologist and have never been happier. That is all.

These doctors are hard to find since not everyone is certified to perform this type of exam. I called several places and many either no longer existed or were not taking new pilots. Luckily, Dr Panzer's office was only about ten minutes from me. I stopped by without an appointment, not realizing walk-ins are not really accepted even though some of their online listings make it seem that way. To clarify, there are two separate medical offices in the same building, and only one side is Dr Panzer's practice where he handles FAA exams. The other side is unrelated. Even without an appointment, they were kind enough to fit me in. I waited a short time since another patient ahead of me needed extra attention, which was understandable. The nurse who took my vitals and Dr Panzer himself were both professional and courteous. The entire experience was smooth and welcoming. I left feeling genuinely satisfied and relieved to have found a good FAA medical examiner nearby. Highly recommend this place to any pilot who needs their FAA medical done right.
