I am a healthcare professional who had the pleasure of being referred to Dr. Goodman in January 2016. I am new to the area and had many reservations in finding a physician. It was important to me that I have the "best" physician (intelligent, clinically superior) but also someone that I would be comfortable with and was caring; that would create the type of trust necessary between a physician and patient. I made a call and Dr. Goodman and he immediately rearranged his availability to accommodate my work/life schedule. From the moment I entered his office I was immediately put at ease with his calming, friendly, compassionate demeanor. He listened to me and began a two way discussion resulting in mutually agreed upon plan. He motivated me on many levels to enhance my overall health. It was apparent that he was very knowledgeable and thorough. As a result of my work up, I was faced with abnormal lab results that would result in referrals, additional testing, a diagnosis of cancer, and ultimately surgery. His thoroughness in his approach identified problems previously missed by other physicians. How do you thank someone for that? Dr. Goodman followed me with genuine interest and concern, making sure that the care I was getting from specialist, etc was appropriate. He was available anytime, and I do mean anytime, to answer questions and support me. In the current healthcare system we often recognize that patients need a family member for an advocate. I can say with great confidence that Dr. Goodman was and is my advocate and I am well and thriving because of his care. I have since referred Dr. Goodman to many individuals and all of them are consistently pleased with his care and compassion. Dr. David Goodman is a GOOD man, and a GREAT doc. Firstly, he is IN, and responsive in a way that most docs and medical offices are not. In this way, he is the best kind of modern "throwback"---he functions like a "country" doctor, while possessing a serious city education, a broad range of skills and medical experiences, and a sweet, caring approach with his patience. You won't find a more sensitive, amiable, hard-working, earnest or genuinely skilled doc trained by Harvard and MIT, who actually is happy to see and help you, AND in YOUR neighborhood, let alone anywhere else. Bonus...parking is easy and free too! We are lucky to have him in Marin. Once, on a weekend, I even saw him for a female problem (UTI) and he was so consciously appropriate, I felt comfortable and safe, and he gave me the meds and advice I needed pronto! Once I skipped the emergency room for stitches on a finger, and he fixed me up, gave me some good tape and antibiotic ointment and told me how to manage its healing, and checked in after patching me up! Once I was SO sick with bronchitis on a Sunday, got my diagnosis and script so fast, I even felt optimistic while waiting in line at CVS with my script--that right there is fulfilling the impossible and he does it all the time. Go see Doctor David at the Sunday Medical clinic and skip the answering service, waiting forever for a callback or waiting at Marin General ER (except if, duh, you think you are having a legitimate heart attack or a burst appendix or something totally extreme)! But I bet if you call him first, he'll tell you what to do, and call ahead. Dr. David Goodman literally saved my life at the Sunday Medical Clinic! It was actually a Monday, and I couldn't get into my doctors office, and he made time for me that day as I had terrible pain in my abdomen. Dr Goodman is so kind, insightful and personable. He makes you feel really safe with his gentle, caring demeanor. He was calm and methodical, telling me upon the exam that he thought it was my appendix--and I said "no way!" Because a) I was in denial since I wanted to go on a flight east and b) I'm in my mid fifties and thought only kids and teens get appendicitis. Dr Goodman followed up by phone to make sure I took the lab slips and got my blood drawn that evening. Dr. Goodman called first thing in the morning. He told me to go the the ER immediately because my blood work showed there was something really wrong with me. I told him I would go after my appointment. He told to go immediately. Though I was certain this pain would pass and amount to nothing, dr Goodman was absolutely 100% correct ! I went into the ER at Marin General, and he had called ahead to tell them I was coming and despite a crowded ER, they knew to take me to CT and I to surgery right away. They caught it before it burst and I was out of the hospital in 5 hours flat with laparoscopic surgery. I feel so incredibly lucky we have Dr Goodman as a restive region in our neighborhood--especially with how busy all our physicians are! read more

I needed to see someone on a Sunday for an acute and persistent sore throat. I looked at the usual suspects for urgent care, and then I found the site for Dr. Goodman. After reading about him and his practice, I made an appointment - I was able to see him within a couple of hours, and when I showed up he was ready to meet with me - in other words, no waiting. Dr. Goodman was thorough, personable and clearly competent - probably the best pre-exam inquiry session I've ever had. He asked dozens of questions, and obviously wanted to understand my overall medical history and status. It was comforting to feel that he wasn't just interested in giving me a prescription for my symptoms after some 15-minute quickie exam. I needed exam for Coast Guard license to receive medical certificate. With doctor Goodman it was the best experience of my life. I live in Europe but when time comes again to get medical exam for certificate I will fly again to San Francisco and come to have it done in his office again and again. Life is about experiences and not about cheaper or less money. His fees are not only reasonable, but you get that one life time experience that you will never forget - carrying doctor, super carrying doctor - type of your friend! Bonus for me was viewing his bicycle in his office, for I am cyclist. He has frame by Seven, and it is super rare vintage piece made out of titanium and carbon. It made me feel good that my doctor comes to work on bike and lives healthy life! All doctors in the world should be like David and all people should have bicycles by Seven. I was looking for a Doctor and was lucky enough to find Dr. David Goodman. This guy is great! Friendly, knowledgable, easy to talk to, thorough, and treats you like a person, not just a patient. I hadn't been to see a doctor in a long time, and Dr. Goodman totally put me at ease, ordered all the appropriate tests for my age, and followed through. He also has a large network of other doctors that he works with in the event you need a specialists. Incredibly easy to schedule with, and just an all around great guy. Strongly recommended! We had to do medical exams and vaccinations for permanent residency petition, and we needed them quickly because my daughter was pregnant and we needed to file the petition before the delivery. After having looked around and having found long waiting lists and uninterested assistants, I spoke directly with Dr. Goodman.
