Salad bar and pinto beans!
April S.

We walked in and waited a good solid 2 minutes while the man behind the register finished his paperwork before he would seat us. We were sat in a booth by the front window and we waited a good 5 minutes before a server came over and apologized for not seeing us. I ordered the shrimp plate with hush puppies and salad bar. Hubs ordered the fish and hush puppies which came with salad bar. The salad bar had items on it that looked like they were past their shelf life. Patrons beside me were commenting the same thing. The best food we had all night was the pinto beans that you get on the salad bar. My shrimp were very tough and as I was eating I noticed that the poop bag (think Chef Anne from the Food Network) was inside each on of the shrimp. Some it was in the coating and some it was still attached to the fish. Gross. Service was better once she started waiting on us but this place is a big miss for us and I can't see us returning any time in the future.

Fish and Butterfly Shrimp Platter - I'd clearly already started eating :) that cocktail sauce was unique and tasty!!

Service, good salad bar, food was very good. Ample seating. Very good decor for a sea food place.

Not good. Fish had no taste. Chicken fried steak grease and bad taste. Hush puppies tasted freezer burnt.

The food is terrible. The salad is watery, the fountain drinks tastes gross and the catfish is awful. Would never eat here again.

This is always a stop for me. When in the area, I plan on eating me some fresh catfish! Best fish around. A+++ for filets

Extremely bland food. Super expensive for three thin strips of fish. $13.99 is not worth the trip. Ice tea extra

Flavorless fried junk. Salad bar wasn't fully stocked. Your hard earned money is better spent someplace else.

Great place to eat- great salad bar as well. Admittedly there are many issues they are encountering since covid.

It was a little slow, but it seemed like a busy night, so it was understandable. We ordered the combo bag, which was reasonably priced and tasted delicious. Everything was flavorful, and I'd definitely come back the next time I'm in the area. A couple of things to note: the music is on the louder side, and the parking lot is shared with other businesses. That said, there was still plenty of parking available. I also noticed a steady stream of people picking up to-go orders, which says a lot about how popular this place is in the neighborhood

I know it's busier and Friday night but geez, the table we sat at or the chairs we sat on were dirty like covered in some kind of sauce. It got on my jacket and my girlfriend's clothes, no sincere apology they just switched a chair but didn't look like they cleaned it. Had to wait until the end of dinner for part of our order even if we politely asked 3 different workers if we're going to get the rest of our food. This is after 3 other tables got all of their food before we did and were seated after us. Guess if we ever come back here we need to be early or just lunch time. Also, don't get the hibachi beef, it's mostly stir fried vegetables on top of rice with some tossed salad on half the plate. Doesn't taste that good either, but the fried calamari was delicious and served with fries. The gumbo soup was ok but I think I'll just stick with the seafood boil or fried appetizers. They do open up the back dining area when it's busy.

The sauce just made me want to keep going back for more! Service was friendly and fun! Made great recommendations and checked in often! Ambiance was quiet on a Monday night late but I can imagine that the weekends they are packed! Lots of seating and a quaint little spot! Great music but still allowed for conversation. The only challenge was parking! It's a super small parking lot (like maybe 6 spots) so be ready to park on the street and walk.

The sauce is almost drinkable, but also don't... it's so much garlic you may end up pissing your stomach off. Shrimp seems to always be overcooked so I never get those anymore. They're mushy, so real overcooked. Service is hit it miss. Sometimes I've gotten a server who may not understand the best English and is sorta short with us. I can understand that, but also it's not enjoyable. The place is usually a mess... But I say that because it's usually super busy as well so I'm not complaining about that because they clean up. It's just a constant flow of people. They also increase their prices quite a bit and the price of snow crab has went down. So unless the prices go back down to a reasonable amount, I probably won't go back, but I'd still advise for you to try it out.

I couldn't reconcile the Italian "Belzoni's" name with "Catfish Cafe", so had to check this…read morerestaurant out to see what it was about. Turns out Belzoni is a town in Mississippi, and it claims to be the Catfish Capital of the World. This information is displayed on a large picture in the restaurant's small dining area. The interior is unremarkable but seems clean and well maintained. Chairs are surprisingly comfortable. The owner and cook, Mr Cooley, was friendly and you can tell he takes pride in preparing great catfish. Our server was also friendly and attentive. We ordered the catfish filet basket and the whole catfish basket. Our sides were corn, turnip greens, and onion rings. The server explained that each fish order is prepared fresh and will be extremely hot when it is served. And it was. After allowing a few minutes for the fish to cool, we found it to be excellent. The outer coating was crunchy but the fish was moist and flaky inside. Delicious. The fish is served with a tartar sauce that has a lot of flavor. The sides were all good, but there was nothing special about them. I recommend Belzoni's if you're looking for great catfish.
