Liz is AMAZING! She's helping me transition my super dark, almost black hair to a lighter dimensional brown. After my first session, I'm so pleased. She's very knowledgeable and did a great job. I left SO happy with my hair, which is a first for me. It was more expensive than my previous salons, but definitely worth it in my opinion for the service and outcome. The salon is clean and everyone is friendly and kind.

Thank you Colin for everything and I'm sorry such mean and hateful people are out there.

I really wanted to love this place. Unfortunately, my experience was incredibly disappointing…read more I came in with reference photos asking for soft bangs and a trim with some shaping. I left with what can only be described as a mullet, strands that were far too long and awkward to wear down, with no shape, no balance, and no styling. It was uneven in the back (the hairstylist, Emily, didn't even cut all the strands - she just snipped once at like two pieces?? It was so weird), My hair was so botched that my sister said it looked worse than when I tried to cut my own bangs in second grade. I told the stylist I was unhappy before I left the salon (I was in tears. I got into my car and literally cried), but she shrugged and vaguely offered to "fix it" within a week. I sat in the chair and said several times, hey this is not what I was looking for. I had reference photos that were as close to my hair type as possible. She kept kind of shrugging and ignoring me. As a small business owner and mom of two, I didn't have time to come back as it was also the week of the 4th of July. I've spent every single day since wearing a hat or a headband. The cost was over $100 to get my hair butchered, and I felt obligated to tip, despite feeling uncomfortable and dissatisfied. In retrospect, obviously I should not have. I followed up right away via email, sent photos, and tried to communicate. The salon owner, Rachelle, responded a couple of times, I responded back with times that worked for me to come in for her to fix it, and then she just stopped responding completely. Mistakes happen, but how a business handles them matters. The lack of urgency, accountability, or a clear solution made a frustrating experience worse. I'm still out the money and now have to pay another salon to fix it. The attached picture is from immediately after my appointment. As you can see, nothing was styled and my hair is exponentially worse than when I stepped into The Studio. Who would walk into a salon and ask for the awkward growing-out-bangs stage for a haircut??? Horrible.

My wife had color and highlights done by Edwin of Cielo By Edwin Fontanez in the fall of 2022. She…read morecame to him with uncolored medium brown hair with some gray. She presented several photographs of herself to show her goal to follow her base color with added light brown highlights for dimension. While washing the color products out of her hair, Mr. Fontanez stated that the "color pulled too red and he needed to put on a toner" to compensate. This did not work and still left a red / brassy tone to her resultant hair color. She found it strange that the entire time Mr. Fontanez was drying her hair he kept her chair turned away from the mirror so that she could not see the results until briefly when he was finished. He was also very rough with the blow dry, pulling her hair so hard that she had to stop him. She paid her bill and went to the restroom before leaving only to see her hair was red / brassy. She asked Mr. Fontanez directly, "don't you think this is too red?" His response was the lighting in the bathroom made it look that way which implied he saw the red / brassy color too. The next day she placed a call to voice her displeasure and request a refund. Mr. Fontanez refused any refund but instead offered to correct the color. My wife chose to go to another salon to correct the color because she had no confidence in his ability to correct the color when he could not get it right the first time. Repeated attempts to obtain a refund were unsuccessful with Mr. Fontanez saying he was "owed the money" regardless of the result because "he spent the time". He did not care at all about the trauma he caused but instead was more concerned about retaining payment for terrible results. Needless to say, my wife will never return to Edwin Fontanez.

I had the most fabulous experience both Monday as well as yesterday at Cielo with Edwin Fontanez…read more (That does not include my first appointment, where Edwin spent over an hour consulting; where he spent the time looking at my hair, its color, texture, elasticity, and much more.. but clearly understood how to handle my personal hair trauma with such passion and he educated me on the process that would have to happen. No surprise, especially when he said he would have to cut so much off. Knowing the process, prepared me for what was to begin a long journey, though I knew I was 100% in the right hands of a true hair master!!! Edwin is not only a master artist of hair, but a genius of style, color, precision, and patience. His professionalism with his clients is very impressive as well. Edwin had to completely take my hair: very unhealthy, damaged from color , breakage and bad extensions from a prior salon, and attempt to begin to help repairing it and me!!! I was embarrassed to go out for several months with the old me, as I am typically in the public eye for my business. I spent over 6 hours, and two days at Cielo for the transformation, and Edwin has just given me back my life with the new color and cut. The cut was eminent because so much damaged was evidenced. The new style and cut is clearly Edwin's artistic and award winning, Edwin's own!! I was so impressed with his consultation first and his honesty. He completely under promised and over- delivered in such a positive way. The culture of his salon and staff, are also reassuring, warm, friendly and honest and let me not forget to mention, quite relaxing, sophisticated, and fantastic product selections for all hair types. Edwin exemplifies a master of hair. Cleveland, we are very fortunate to have Edwin Fontanez!! I can recommend Edwin and Cielo in Lakewood, Ohio!!!! Edwin, Thank you! Lisa

My cousin wanted to get her hair done for Prom, and found this place on her own through internet searches. She made a reservation based on good reviews she read. We got there a bit early and they got her in right away. She showed her stylist a photo of the kind of hairstyle she wanted, which was braids in the front connecting to a bun in the back (I'm doing a poor job of describing it, but it's a fairly simple style). The stylist started doing something, then undid it because it didn't look right, then tried something else again, and was clearly struggling a bit with my cousin's Asian hair (very straight and sleek). I don't blame her for this, since our hair texture can be tricky to work with if you don't have a lot of experience with it. After about half an hour of this she asked a senior stylist for help, which I thought was very appropriate. But then the senior stylist said to my cousin, "You need to make up your mind about what you want to do, because we can't be trying a million different styles. We're wasting a lot of time." I had been watching the whole time from the waiting area, and her attitude and tone of voice with my cousin made me really angry because she was trying to blame the problem on my 17yo cousin. I didn't say anything at the time because I didn't want to make the situation worse by making them mad, thereby risking them messing up my cousin's hair. The senior stylist did end up making it work out and the final hairstyle looked good (hence the 4 stars), but her attitude the whole time trying to make my cousin feel like she had done something wrong left a bitter taste in both our mouths.
