Well, I hate writing this review, but one bad employee can ruin a whole experience, no matter how great the place has been in the past. I've always spoken highly of this place because they have always done my nails and pedicures, well at least one lady has and she's wonderful (Linh), for pedis and David for nails. Well today I took my husband to get a pedi and Linh took care of him and did an amazing job and he loved it! I, on the other hand, waited and then got a young girl named Sue sit in front of me. She seemed annoyed from the start and began working on my feet without uttering a word. Then began scraping, with her "cheese grater" and sliced the skin right off my heel. When I mentioned that it hurt, she quickly put my foot back in the water where it irritated it more and began to burn. I couldn't take the pain anymore and asked her to stop. That's when I brought my foot up to see it and it was bleeding!! I mean, if you're not in the mood to work, don't take your frustration out on a paying customer. Horrible first-time experience for my husband after I built it up so much. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. I went for a fill yesterday, and the girl cut my nail down to a nub. In addition to that today, my nails are lifting and peeling. The gel polish has lifted and peeled off 4 of my nails. This is a very poor job, and I regret even trusting her to do my nails. read more

Tiny place (looks big from the outside). Wasn't greeted when I walked in. Wasn't offered anything to drink. Had to wash exfoliation cream off my hands and arms in a sink instead of having it wiped away with a hot towel. Priced way too high for low brow service. read more

I came here on a Wednesday at 5:15, I asked for a simple polish change on my toes. There was 1 person waiting. This lady comes around and said you want manicure? I said nope polish change she looked disgusted and said sorry we don't have time. I said it's 5 and you close at 7. She said nothing more and walked away. I went to the car and called and asked they if they time for a pedicure today she said yes come at 6. This place is garbage and nothing special. These places are dime a dozen. My sweet daughter had the courage to go in alone and ask to just remove the gel from her nails at 7:10. They close at 7:30. They told her they don't take customers after 7. I recently moved to San Antonio and have been shopping around for a nail salon that I like and could go to regularly. I called ahead to find out if they do "CND shellac" nails and was told YES. I wanted a CND shellac mani and general pedi done. When I arrived I was pleasantly greeted by one of the staff stating the usual: how can we help, pick your color, etc. I repeated, I called earlier because I want CND shellac. The tech said OK. I was seated at a pedicure station immediately - no waiting, which is always a plus! The salon appeared clean and neat. While my feet was soaking the technician started on my finger nails using an electric nail file to break the seal from the CND shellac I had on; then proceeded to the acetone soaking process. I've never experienced that process done that way by other nails techs, so I figured its just a different technique. Ironically he did the same thing to my toe nails, but I didn't have shellac on my toe nails...hmm? He didn't ask and I didn't say. So again, it must be just a different technique. OMG, the feet massage was painful - tolerable, but painful. I was so relieved when it was over. The only lotion used was the little that was put on my feet before he began the massage; then a hot towel. I guess that's what you get when you say you want a basic pedicure - bare minimum - absolutely no frills! On to the nail station: he began cutting and filing my nails, again using a combination of the electric and manual file; then had me wash my hands. He nicked my cuticle, but said nothing. He proceeded to paint my nails using OPI/Gelish shellac. For those of you who've had CND shellac, you know there's a difference! I said nothing as this was the PRIMARY reason for writing this review. Overall my experience was OK. Although the tech did a nice job painting my nails, I was dissappointed that I was told they do CND shellac, when they clearly DON'T! The massage WASN'T relaxing or pleasant. Lastly, when I arrived home I noticed my toe nail polish was not completely dried because it looked bubbly and the polish on my baby toe was messed up. Having to go back to a salon to have them fix something that should be right the first time around will always reduce the rating by a full star. Being lied to about the type of service you offer - deduct another full star. Having a painful massage and your cuticle nicked - forget about it. Find someplace else. I can't honestly say that I'd recommend this place to anyone. With the stiff nail salon competition out there, you'd probably get your money's worth elsewhere. read more

Went here on Friday and got my nails done by the owner. I thought "wow my nails should be great" and they looked good for about 4 days. Now it looks like I need a serious fill! I usually go every two to three weeks with solar and even then they still could go longer. I went back to show the owner how much I was in need of a fill only a week in... His response "wow your nails grew a lot!" NO! You did something to make them need a fill quicker. So as I was standing there I was watching him do someone else's nails..: he pushes back cuticles after he fill resulting in needing a fill sooner! Unfortunately I over looked this when he was doing mine... Never again! He didn't even offer to charge me half for a fill just said it wasn't their fault I need a fill already! Fraud!! To start the only reason i am giving 4 stars is because of the language barrier. The woman who did my nails was really nice but she was very hard to understand. I was looking for places that did gel nails since it is very difficult for me to grow my nails long. I saw the sign outside while heading to the HEB saying Gel UV Nails (No powders etc) for $32 and decided to give it a try. Walked in told her what I wanted and she had me sit and she got to work. She took her time and did all the steps that I remembered looking up online. I watch for anything that seemed odd and found nothing. She asked about the length, the shape, and how thick i wanted my nails and she listened very well when I told her what I wanted. I still have to see how they hold up, but Sitting here looking at my gel nails I am really happy. When she rang up the total it came to $35 because I got the white tips, but hey most places wanted 40-50. can't complain. In a few weeks before i got on a trip I plan on going there for one of there $20 pedicures and get my gels filled. :-) read more

I went here out of convenience and being short on time. I got a full set and pedicure. It was a midday during the week so there was no wait and the girl who did my nails was sweet and very helpful. The shape and color on my nails were exactly what I wanted, but the detail work was amateur. I'm certain I'll have to go in early to get a fill and it probably won't be at the same location because I'm picky. Horrible! Gave this salon a try with friend because I'm new to the area and I'm not impressed in the least!! First of all the lady didn't push back my cuticles or clip the dry skin to make my nails look nicer longer. Then she cut me on 7 of my fingers!! On my thumb she cut me so badly I wouldn't stop bleeding and she just laughed it off as she KEPT WORKING THROUGH THE BLEEDING! When it came to the design she got extremely sloppy even though it was very simple. I can't believe they charged me $42! This is the most I have ever paid to get a full set! And my friend only got a fill in and they charged her $45! I noticed my nails look like crap only a few days later it's only been a week in a half and I desperately need to get my nails redone. I see someone else had the same experience and then went to VIP NAILS AND SPA and had a more acceptable experience, I'll be going there tomorrow! read more

Don't listen to the bad reviews. I had an amazing experience here. I chose this place because it was close to my doctor's appointment and I only had a short amount of time, otherwise I would have gone to my normal place. It's 30 minutes from my apartment but I will definitely be going there from now on. The woman who did my nails, the owner was so sweet. She shaped my nails beautifully and the polish came out gorgeous. Also she was very gentle, some places I go the manicurist is so rough with the drill and it ends up hurting. I showed up at 9:55am to get a pedicure. I waited until they opened at 10am and tried to walk in. One of the nail techs was sitting outside by the HEB and told me to wait 5 minutes longer before they opened. she then told me to go into HEB and shop and then come back (weird but I could wait 5 minutes) I ended up killing ten minutes and then went back outside to see if they were open yet. Nope. Now two nail techs were sitting outside waiting for someone to open the shop. I had to grocery shop so I said forget it and went back into HEB to do so. I finished shopping at 11am and when I came out they still looked closed. They totally lost my business. Sorry. read more

I heard that DaVi Nails was recently remodeled and had new management from a friend of mine who shops at HEB next door. I usually hop from nail salon to salon trying to find the perfect one, but after finding this place,I have been going there now since MAY. It is honestly one of the cutest and friendliest nail salons. The owner David, is always very welcoming. Since the new management, I can definitely say I recommend DaVi Nails. There are many other nail salons that I could have been loyal too, but since May I have not been disappointed. The TV entertainment is also a major plus. I came across two other reviews since the new management and I just have to say that I get Shellac almost every time I go because not only does it last longer than normal nail polish but there are also many many different color choices. read more

I went today for a mani/pedi. The pedicure wasn't extremely long, but it wasn't short, either. They did an extremely efficient job. I got a shellac mani and that was wonderful as well. All in all, the salon is clean, calm, and relaxing. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars, was because I moved from Florida where my nail salon's standard pedicure included paraffin wax and a hot stone massage. This place is horrible. I selected a color from the "dipping" and once it was finished the color wasn't even close. I was told that sometimes the colors change. My nail color isn't what I wanted at all. To make matters worse, two nails on one hand are broke (day 2) and one broken and 3 chipped on the other hand. Nancy is the best at waxing and eyelash extensions! I have been getting my lashes done for over two years in Houston and recently moved to new braunfels and no one in San Antonio does them better than Nancy.
