Beautiful and inexpensive quartz, granite, travertine, and porcelain, oh my! We went to Enrique on the advice of our contractor when we were working on a complete remodel of our 1960s home 4 years ago. We purchased: - tile for our entryway, 3 baths, kitchen and laundry room, - glass tile backsplash for 3 baths and kitchen, and - two bathroom vanities. Now that we're extending our kitchen, we'll need more quartz and backsplash. We wouldn't have called anyone else. When we first visited Dave's Tile, we went with our contractor, and we were soooo overwhelmed at first. It's like a remodelaholic dream! But the staff was knowledgeable and available to present some beautiful options in just about any price and color range. I was delighted to know that they had much of the material in-stock. And the material that had to be ordered was available the same week. Because they're used to dealing with contractors, you can place an order by phone, pay by credit card, and have your contractor pick it up for you when it's ready. This is great if you're actually at work, you know... to pay for all of the beautiful tile, and you don't have time to drive over to place the order. Haha! Forget your "favorite handyman store". I have purchased tiles multiple times from here and they have always been sufficient for my needs with that type of item. I am in the market for 2 new bathroom vanities that require custom measurement and decided to give them and their cabinet maker Abel a try. From the time I received the first estimate from them, the price and what that price covered repeatedly changed upwards. After going into the store (were the estimates changed again), I picked out the type of cabinet I wanted, in the color stain I wanted it in, along with my countertop options. I told both Abel when he came out to take measurements and Flor when I made my final selection and paid an advance payment of $1500 that I didn't want painted cabinets and only wanted real wood with a stained finish. Today, almost 2 weeks after placing my cabinet and countertop order, I get a call stating the price quoted only included painted cabinets and they have to be that white or grey. Long story shorter, I immediately left work to go get my full refund. I live less than 2 miles from well established, reputable, wholesale mill works and stone yards in the Southbay area and will be taking full advantage of the higher quality countertop and cabinetry options, for lower prices, from local businesses around the corner from me in Gardena. FYI: They got the 3rd star from me because I never would have found out about the mills and stone yards in my area if they weren't trying to price gouge me on my cabinetry. read more

We live in West LA, so this place is somewhat of a trek for us - but so worth it! Our friends recommended Dave's after they had such a positive experience here with home remodeling. We were remodeling our kitchen and so decided to give this place a try. They have a large selection of tiles--porcelain, stone, travertine and more. They also have a selection of crown molding and baseboards and other hardware supplies. If they don't have something there, they can order it. The staff is friendly and helpful. Enrique especially was so knowledgeable and went the extra mile to help us find the right tile and backsplash and hooked us up with a good deal. We got all of our kitchen tile there and backsplash. Enrique is the best. He really know his TILES. Imagine home and decor selection (everything In Stock) with half the price! This place in 10 times better than the BiG BoX store (in quality, price and selection) and 2 times better than the state college super fancy store (same selection here but price is really good) I just finish kitchen, 2 bathrooms and the whole house flooring project. This store is like a hidden jewel of tile. Don't let the 80's decor fools you. Yes they have down the earth old tradition "economic made in China" stuff and they also have high end HDTV picture perfect "made in Italy or Spain " tile. I bring my screenshots pictures from HDTV bathroom and I can get my tiles from Enrique here. You just need to let Enrique know your budgets. He told me the gray cement looking 12x24 porcelain tile is IN, guess what .. he has 10 different shades of gray with different price range. all my modern backsplash for half the price, And they are made in Italy :) delivery optional read more

Meh. The people here are not very helpful and the selection of bathroom vanities looks outdated. We were looking for 3 regular vanities and looking to make a custom vanity. The salesperson was very unhelpful regarding the custom vanity. She just pointed at a bunch of vanities and said we can get something like this. She was very unhelpful. They have a lot of tiles but they also look outdated. There were literally only two tiles that I did like and when asked how much it was, the lady said $18 per sq ft. I asked her what about the tile next to it and the salesperson responded similar price. What the heck does that mean? If I'm buying hundreds of sq ft for all my bathrooms, a small price difference means a lot. I actually went to another tile store and the person helping me had to refer to a book to tell me the price. Makes me confident in their pricing vs. the off the top of the head pricing and vague response I got here. read more

I was looking for some yellow replacement tiles for my old kitchen countertop. This building is old and the tile is definitely hard to find. I went into Dave's Tile and spoke with a really nice girl who helped me find a yellow tile that was close to the color I was seeking. They have a large selection of tile and marble. The pricing was really low compared to Home Depot and I was really impressed. If you're looking to replace some old broken tile I would definitely check this place out. This place is a rip off. Incredibly disappointed with this place. Specifically with the worker by the name of Jessica. My mother speaks broken English granted but the worker spoke Spanish as well. We went in and nobody greeted us. We walked by a desk where there was an older man eating lunch . He finally said hello but didn't ask if we needed help. My mother and I continue to stroll the store looking for tile for a restroom we are renovating in our home. We finally find a few samples we like, we find a worker, a young man with glasses who helps us out. He was very kind. I step out of the store because I have my two year old daughter who is running around and is tired at this point. We've been there at least 30 minutes at this point. I come back and my mom has the exact measurements of the restroom and this girl seems to have helped her out. They sold us over $2,000 of tile we didn't need and of course there was a no refund policy. read more

We called in and spoke to a George or Jorge, I didn't get the spelling as we found out he had lied to us to get us in. We called in from East Los Angeles looking for a very specific size tile that he guaranteed us he had in stock and even described the tile itself. To be certain we even asked him again and repeated the measurement, he said the measurement and assured us they had it, so we began the trip down to their business. Upon arrival we were greeted and they got George, the person we spoke to over the phone. He went to measure the sample tile we had then said they don't have it in stock and he just wasn't sure but they could possibly order it for us. This Sales Rep. lied to us to simply get us in and make a quick sale. Waste of gas and time. read more

There are two stores called Dave's, run by 2 brothers. The other one has a better selection of mosaic tiles which I needed, but this one had some lovely porcelain tiles, and outstanding Mexican 'hand painted' tiles. The 3 ladies could have done more to help me, and argued about the Mexican tiles saying they were hand painted. They were not! These were screen printed tiles, looking like the real deal. They were $6 and $8 each, really superb colors on 1/4 inch terracotta clay, but screen print designs. The selection of glass and ceramic mosaic tiles, which I needed, was very limited. I found a better selection at Dave's on 332 W. Florence, CA 90001. Wood flooring was disappointing in both stores. Selection was not good. No engineered wood in click-lock. Did not look like they had too many tiling accessories either. When I wanted to know the price of two mosaic tile selections, they could not tell me, nor find the price or model #. Okay, this is not good. They could not look up the manufacturer either, since their boss does not allow them to have the internet feature on the PC's. Well then, you cannot help the customer either. Too bad. They need to modernize and permit their staff to become more effective. read more

Walked in to store and asked for a quote. The owner said someone would call me back on Monday for a time and day to come by and give us a quote. We asked for Wednesday or Thursday would be best. No call at all... Thursday early afternoon I called back and said no one had called me and I wanted a quote still. A lady answered I spoke with her and she said someone will be getting back with me right away. It's now almost 7pm and no call. I'm assuming they are closed for the day. No one asked me to but I did come home early from work on Wednesday hoping they would come by. Anyways if they can't make an appointment how can you trust anything that they would do. I am very disappointed with my experience with this establishment. Our representative was Robert, who was very unclear about their delivery policy. He did not inform me that there is a $150 installation fee, it is also NOT written anywhere on the receipt. I ordered two simple cabinets which cost $400 (which I felt was slightly overpriced but I went with it). I decided to give this place a try because it is a small business in the area but it is disappointing that they conduct business this way. So now I will have the cabinets dropped off to me and I will be looking for someone to install them for a more reasonable price. read more
