I do not recommend KARS Auto Sales and Repair or Nelson at all…read more I bought a 2013 Honda Pilot from them in January 2026, and this has been a nightmare since day one. Nelson knew I was buying this vehicle for a cross-country relocation. I needed something trustworthy. I asked the right questions. I repeatedly asked for the actual Carfax report, and Nelson never produced it. He sent screenshots instead, which could have been from any similar vehicle. Looking back, that should have been my first red flag. I was told the car had been inspected, was in good condition, and "came with" extended warranty coverage. That turned out to be complete bullshit. The "comes with a warranty" language is all over their Facebook posts. So are claims about 30 days of free repairs and free oil changes for a year. Based on my experience, do not believe it. The "warranty" Nelson said "comes with every car we sell" was not actually explained to me as a separate product. It was just stated like it was included. There was no real discussion or honest disclosure around what it actually was until I looked closely at the sales contract and paperwork two days later and realized it was a separate Wynn service contract charged into my loan for over $2,100. Within a week of buying it, I had an independent inspection done. It showed serious issues: timing/timing-chain concerns, power steering issues, safety concerns with the compliance bushings, and the fact that the vehicle had not actually had the real maintenance/tune-up type work it needed. KARS and Nelson refused to properly fix those issues themselves. Instead, they pushed me into filing a claim through Wynn, the extended warranty company Nelson acted like was so great. Nelson told me Wynn was a good company and that I could take the car anywhere for service. That was not true in reality. Almost no reputable shops wanted to deal with Wynn. The car then had two major breakdowns in less than three months and spent weeks in the shop. The first major repair was around $5,500. Wynn accepted to cover $3500 of it, but I still had to pay $500 out of pocket, lost work, tow fees, diagnostic fees, rideshare while they had the vehicle for 2 weeks, and still had no reliable vehicle. Then the car broke down again. A second shop estimated the next repair at around $2,800, and Wynn refused the entire thing arbitrarily, no actual explanation or conversation with the service center. So much for the warranty. KARS is now getting this vehicle back with $3,600 in significant repairs and improvements already done -- repairs they did not pay for and now directly benefit from -- and they still will not even finish the process properly. The Credit Acceptance loan/title side has finally been handled, but KARS still has not refunded my $3,250 and still has not picked up the vehicle. Now the car has to be stored, additional charges may be added, and this is turning into a lawsuit because they still will not simply finish what they agreed to do. Their shop and yard were dirty, gross, cluttered, and completely disorganized. Honestly, it matched the entire experience. This has been four months of nightmare and six weeks since they agreed to unwind the deal and take the car back. Six weeks of lies, delays, excuses, dragging their feet, and complete idiocy just to get a basic unwind done. I now have no vehicle, no refund yet, possible storage fees, and I still have not been able to leave for my relocation because of this mess. Nelson has lied to me repeatedly, and I do not trust him at all. This has been a horrible nightmare since day one. I feel completely taken advantage of. Do not trust their inspection claims. Do not trust their warranty claims. Do not trust the "30-day free repairs" claim. Do not trust the "free oil changes for a year" claim. Do not trust screenshots instead of real reports. Do not trust that Wynn will actually help you. And do not assume KARS will handle anything professionally if the car falls apart after you buy it. I would never recommend KARS to anyone I liked. In response to Nelson- more of the same. You didn't have to pay a cent to unwind the loan. Nothing, and you haven't taken ANY losses, only I have financially. Maybe your "legal team" can respond with facts instead of continual vauge deception? But, you definitely will be now that you have forced me to hire an attorney and file a lawsuit paying for storage and more towing instead of just returning the money (which I reluctantly accepted 2 weeks ago because you said this "would be handled immediately") and sign the settlement, which protects everyone. So you are still just spewing BS. The lies are everywhere. But now you are definitely signing up for significant financial loss. That's entirely on you, like this whole thing has been. There is zero intelligence here.
