From the moment I walked in, I was transplanted back to a simpler time. I grew up in a small town during the 1960's/1970's. Our town had a bustling downtown bustling with little shops s d stores. Dave's is a little shop that does exactly what the name indicates . I went in for a simple task, extra copies of keys. Done with a smile. Zip, zip, zip. And inexpensively completed. Based on that, I decided to ask him to come out and replace a few thing for me. We set an appointment for 1 week (he was willing to do next day). Long live Mom & Pop. Big Box can be convenient, but I'll choose Mom & Pop every time. read more

He was so nice and super quick, 100% recommend this place for every one else. Got everything I needed!

Great service. I know many people are use to the concierge service that most lock smiths have today, but I loved being able to go into a physical location and get great service at an excellent price. I paid $65 at Dave's for what those other guys wanted $390-$450 to do. Forgive me but service charge I should only be charged if it is necessary. The device I needed didn't require someone coming to me but other locksmith's had to include "service charges" because they are mobile (no physical address for the client to come to them). I needed 3 keys cut. I had both the old keys and the new keys, one of which was a laser cut Buick key. Thank you Dave for keeping it read more

I was amazed this time at how contemporary Dave's is with electronic key duplication service available along with antique skeleton keys! And, for a more reasonable price than a dealer, I learned how my new car security system works by a pro! I highly recommend Dave's Locksmith for any kind of key and entry security advice, products, and services. Truly an amazing experience. read more

My husband lost his car key and I was about to let a company come to our home to get it replaced. But I decided to go with Dave's because he has a store front and I could come back if there were problems. I just tested all of my key replacements and they work great. Dave was patient and willing to explain the cost breakdown to me. I now have a spare that will hopefully save us money in the long-run if we lose another one. I know now where to go for lost car keys. I also saved money by going to Dave's. Having someone come out to your place and make the key at your house costs more. read more

I Received great service! I called on Monday to get a quote for the replacement of my Toyota Sienna key FOB and was given great information on what was involved. The key FOB was ordered that day and when it came in on Wednesday, I received a call. I was able to come in today and the key FOB was programmed and completed in about 30 minutes. The price was super affordable too! I highly recommend Dave's Lock & Key. Thank you again. B. Drabek read more

I called to get a quote for my sons 04 Accord key fob. The gentleman on the phone provided me with prices and options for this particular vehicle. My son took the car in and within 30-45 minutes he had a new key!! Excellent price and service. If I ever find myself in need of another key Dave's will be my first choice. read more

My husband and I bought a used Honda CR-V for his sister that only came with one ignition key and remote, and we really wanted to get a spare key for her. We were referred to Dave by the Ace Hardware on Edgewater Drive as that Ace Hardware didn't have a laser cutter nor the ability to program the chip in the key. Dave was not only able to make the key, he also lubricated the locks on the car as he personally checked each lock to make sure the key would work in each one, and advised us to lubricate them every 6 months or so to keep them in good condition. Excellent service, reasonably priced, and just a really nice, personable man. read more

I have used this company for many, many years. They have done fine work but the caveat has always been his superior, "making you feel stupid" attitude. You can forget it if you have an emergency.... you need to call someone else. However, they will come out when they promise you even if it is several days later. Dave, you are right that I haven't used you in over a year and it is because your attitude toward your customers has changed. And anyone who can read can see that the bullying is being done by you. I merely mentioned my husband was a judge to jar your memory as to who I was. read more

If you want to be patronized and told to shut up and listen, give Dave a call. My mom has done business with him for 20 years and on a simple rekeying he won't even stand behind his work. Saying it is probably the malfunctioning on our end, without even understanding what is happening because he is too pompous to listen to anyone speak who is not a credible locksmith. He advised me to open the door and turn the lock-ok. It turns fine, then I go to unlock it and it is sticking...so I use the new key they had given me and it jams but then turns the lock after having to go FULL THREE CYCLES AROUND. That is super weird to me, I've never seen a lock turn this many times, but I close the door and he tells me to lock the door again while inside. I get LOCKED IN MY HOUSE!!! No way to get out...I have to work soon, so does my boyfriend. And Dave...what does he do? Patronize some more and won't even come out to get us out...we have the only two keys in existence for this place, inside with us and we have to climb from the second story out the window to get ourselves out. Well...the key when turning did the three full cycles again and jammed, it took us 15 minutes to finally unlock the door. What a horrible afternoon and a horrible confrontation with this man. I wish he would have at least had me send a video or come to actually look with his own eyes before acting like such a know it all. Thanks for all your help and I hope you enjoy the $77 you made off of me for absolutely nothing since I had to replace everything all over again. Which btw was way cheaper at Home Depot and they stand behind their work and products! read more

Shop local! Stopped at this local spot instead of heading to Home Depot as I just needed some keys made. I was in and out of here in under 5 minutes. I walked in and was immediately greeted by one of the gentlemen while another was helping another customer. They were super attentive and took care of me immediately. So very nice and a pleasant experience with a local spot in my neighborhood. read more

You could find better services else where. They lack in responsibility in a timely manner as well as having any manners at all. You would think that as a business, they would try a bit harder and give quality service. Didn't find that here. read more

Dave's deserves the 5 star rating. An old time service store, small, and simple - just locks and keys. Dave cut two keys and programmed them both for my Jeep Liberty. He did it at the best price in town, and in fact was suggested by other local locksmiths as the guy to go to for the job. When the fob I had purchased on Ebay failed to unlock the car, he took care of me when I returned with a replacement. I highly recommend Dave and his little College Park shop. read more

This is a customer service review rather than services since I did not get a response until 2 days later. In this circumstance I would not leave a review. Here I let the owner that the response was rather late and services were completed by another provider. In addition, I suggested that it be made clear that after hours services were not available. In response it seems the owner wants a back and forth stating that the hrs are clear on YELP. This is true and it should be noted the 4 other business had the same response. The difference is that 2 businesses said (the same day) that they don't offer those services. Another suggested an alternative referral. The other accepted the feedback to possibly make the service times and scope more clear. This was the only one that wanted to engage in an argumentative back and forth. I can't rate the service so I won't say 1 star but customer service and communication gets them 2 stars especially since it's the owner responding. Just saw the owner's, THE OWNER's response. It's 2018 and I'm certain you have a computer, laptop, smartphone....right since you're advertising on a web based application. Right? Sir my understanding is clear however as a business owner you control how recommendations are made through and apps like YELP sand others. Rather resorting to insulting the messenger, make a meaningful effort to address the issue otherwise anything else sounds like an excuse. Unfortunately it seems you're having trouble understanding that point. Down to one star based on the "owner's" response. Updated 08/20/2018 read more

I heard of Dave's through Yelp. Not being an Orlando native it can be hard to know who to trust when it comes to home services. Yelp led, yet again, to a great business. I read all the great reviews and decided to email Dave about my particular lock problem. I was ready to have someone come out to my house if needed so I could get back into my shed with a stuck latch. Dave himself responded in a timely manner to my questions regarding whether I needed a locksmith and how I could get back into my old shed. He gave me tips, that I had already tried, but reassured me that it just needed lots of WD-40 and some wiggling. More wiggling. And a few days of patience and more wiggling it opened up. So I had to say thanks! I know who to call next time I really do need a locksmith. read more

I had an abrupt change in living arrangements and they were out within 2 hours to change out the key entries into my home. I was also on a deadline to get to a client, all given a 3.5 hour window that I had available and they made it happen! That really took some stress out of my life. The tech that came out suggested some additional safety steps to take and those are being taken into consideration. Very polite and professional staff. read more

I needed an extra key for an older vehicle. I had called numerous locksmiths and Dave's price was by far the most reasonable. I even got ordered another key because it was affordable. He programmed everything perfectly and then tried it on the vehicle and it was perfect. While I was in his shop several other people came in- he has been in the location 40+ years. I found him knowledgeable and he also tried to find a way to make things work. THANKS DAVE- very satisfied. read more

Wonderful key shop. I needed a new electronic key for my Toyota and he gave me advice and educated me on what I needed to do. What the dealership told me it would cost to cut and program the key ($35 - I bought my own key off of eBay) only cost me $5 here - and I got a lot of invaluable information. He was fast and in expensive. I will definitely go agan. read more

Five for work Great reliable fast, good price good vibe. Three because - Problem was another company I had called, tried to present themselves as Dave's.... Dave knows scam companies are out there trying to scoop his business and didn't warn me in any way when we talked. I was almost scammed by another service i called, Orlando lock solutions, claiming to be Dave's when they called me back then showed up the day of the appointment. If Dave's tech had been twenty min later, or the other had been done faster, not sure what might have come of it. Dave's response when we called to recommend he warn on site customers, to verify it is his tech in some way on arrival, was less than satisfactory. Three stars because He knows they are doing this and "can't stop them". He should warn his customers when an appointment is made. Four all together. read more

These guys are great. It's so nice to deal with professionals that take pride in their work. They really know their stuff.

Knowledgeable, Responsive, Reasonable... We have nice Baldwin hardware on our front door. Replacement cost at Home Depot Expo is over $400. A locksmith referred by our roofer came to fix our front door when the opening lever no longer worked. Charged $100, said it could not be fixed but to get a new set. Then I called Dave's Lock & Key and got great information as follows: Baldwin hardware has a lifetime warranty and they will send a replacement. I called Baldwin and spoke with Edward there. They sent the replacement. Received the replacement set in 5 days. I then called Dave's this morning and Mark came out within two hours and replaced the lock for $87 which I thought was very fair. read more
