My husband was struck and injured by a drunk driver and taken away via ambulance. In the my panic of trying to get things out of his car and into mine, so I could hurry off to the ER, I locked my keys in my trunk. I couldn't leave my car where it was because it would have definitely would have been burglarized. I called AAA crying to explain my situation. Christina was nothing short of awesome doing what she could to get someone there quickly. She came back and told me forty minutes. Ok....that was much better than the originally quoted 90 minutes! Ten minutes later I get a call back from Matt who informed me that he saw the call come up and that it was urgent so he left his home (he was off duty) and came to help me since he was only ten minutes away. Sure enough he was there in less than ten minutes and apologized for not being in uniform. He could have showed up dressed as a Liberace impersonator--I didn't care in the least because he was there to help which he didn't have to--he could have stayed home and watched Johnny Carson re-runs. Instead he drove out and unlocked my car and helped me find the keys in no time. He also expressed concern that I was okay to drive, given what I had been though, and made sure I knew how to get to the hospital where my husband was taken. He even handed me a bottle of water and told me he hoped all would be okay. Soon after I was well on my way. I find it hard to express just how much I appreciated Matt's help. Some car shops will take your car early and it will sit as they work on other vehicles. I noticed mine was already having the door panels removed in 20 minutes from arrival. Absolutely the best car locksmith in at least 2 states. In California, MILTs wanted to charge me $300, I didn't even pay half that and my car was ready in a little over an hour. What's good about service here, is you won't be nickle and dimed and the owner wants to offer the most inexpensive service as possible. The only issue I had, was the cheaper key copy offered to save me money, which was considerate but the key bent by the end of the month. If you look at my reviews, I have reviewed everywhere from San Francisco, Washington D.C., New Mexico, Georgia and North Carolina, so you can be sure I'm not a bot shilling for AA locksmith. I found Advance on google when my ignition key locked on my '05 Saturn Ion. I spoke with Darran who was very friendly over the phone; when I explained my situation, he knew exactly what was the issue with my car. I was by Florida hospital- Orlando, which Darran said was "up the road" and asked me to bring it in to fix. He gave me an estimate of $75+. When I got there, I met Darren at the office and I can honestly say he was very nice on the eyes w/ his British accent(Wink wink)! He had one of the other locksmiths who was equally as nice look at my car and explained why my ignition lock was faulting and fixed my ignition lock. I was in and out within an hour and my issue wasn't as serious as Darran thought so he only charged me $50! Sweeeettt!! Called over the phone and was given some options. $150 plus parts and he'll come on site and take apart the door and rekey the lock; he could even order the part. $90 and I went to their location with the part he said I needed from Nissan. He was done in thirty minutes. From what I overheard while waiting it is $45 to unlock your car anywhere in the greater Orlando area. read more

My house was broken into and my car keys stolen. I called AAA who sent a technician from Advance Auto Locksmith. I requested a reprogrammed fob and new car door locks, so that the thieves would not be able to return to my car and enter it. The technician used a computerized device to reprogram a new fob for my Infiniti G35, and that took about 10 minutes. He then began to attempt to "read" the key lock with a device so that he could manufacture a replacement key. During this time, I was dealing with the police officer who came to my house, and also a second locksmith from Integrity Locksmith Services I had called to re-key all of my house doors. After about an hour, the locksmith from Advance Auto Locksmith came to me and said he wasn't able to manufacture a replacement physical key, and that I would have to take the car to the shop myself to get the work done there. I said "Wait, why were you trying to make a replacement key? I asked for entirely brand new locks. A replacement key would still allow the thieves to unlock the door." At this, the technician became exasperated that he had been doing the wrong thing the whole time. He acknowledged he understood the original instruction, he just forgot or something. He bemoaned that it was the end of his shift and that he was tired and that the job was hard. It was very late, all of this was going on at about 4am. He said he would not attempt to re-key my locks and that I would have to make a payment now and bring my car into the shop later on to have the locks re-keyed. I was frustrated, but at least with the new fob I could drive my car and get to work in a few hours. I agreed to come to the shop later to finish the job but did not feel it was appropriate to pay the entire $325 fee for the service of "Keymake + Program" when the only service that had been performed was the 10-minute "Program" of the fob. The physical key tucked into the fob remained blank. He said I had no options. I must pay the full price, immediately, or he would leave with the newly programmed fob. I said I wanted to call AAA about the matter, because this was technically still a AAA service call. The technician responded to this by immediately collecting his belongings and marching toward his truck, threatening to leave with the fob. Cornered by his ultimatum, I chose to pay the $325 "Keymake + Program" so that I could use my car to get to work that morning. The technician told me I could bring my car into the shop later and pay an additional fee to get the locks re-keyed. Once he left, the locksmith from Integrity Locksmith Services told me it was the most unprofessional and amateur thing he had ever witnessed. He said he could easily have re-keyed my locks on the spot. He said the Advance Auto Locksmith was using some sort of obsolete method. I thanked him but explained I had already paid, and would have to continue working with Advance Auto Locksmith to minimize my costs now. An hour later, the technician from Advance Auto Locksmith texted me a long and formal apology for his behavior. He said he spoke with his boss, explained what happened, and his boss was offering to re-key my locks at no additional cost. I assume the technician told his boss what he had done, that he had extorted my own car keys from me and threatened to leave me stranded, and his boss chewed his ass out and told him to apologize to me. I told the technician I accepted his apology and would call soon to schedule time to bring my car into the shop. Some days later, I called Advance Auto Locksmith to schedule this service. The person on the phone said that they had no record of such an agreement. Their records showed that I had paid for and received "Keymake + Program" for $325 and that there was no record of any services still owed to me. He said that by signing the invoice and making the payment, I was accepting that the work had been completed satisfactorily. My eyes rolled out of my head. I asked to speak to a supervisor, or the owner, or the technician who originally made the agreement with me. None of these options were possible, according to the individual on the phone. I asked to be called back by the owner when he was in and this call never came. The net result is that I paid $325 for a fob reprogramming. This is a 10-minute computerized process done on a tablet. The fob itself probably costs between $30 and $80, if I had to guess. The thieves did return to my car, unlock it, and leave the trunk open. Naturally, I had removed everything already. All they found was dog hair and fast food trash. I called Integrity Locksmith Service, who had been re-keying my house doors that night, and asked him to re-key my car. He sympathetically gave me a discount, because he knew the entire story with Advance Auto Locksmith. It was hard not to feel like I hadn't been robbed twice that night. Invoice #40931 read more

I am a pretty harsh critic of customer service, and I only think to leave a review if it is a disaster, or extraordinary. My experience with Advance Auto locksmith was extraordinary. I called several locksmiths, and this was not only the lowest quote, but the best receptionist I spoke with. In an effort to save a nickel, I bought my key fob online from someone else. Turns out it was the wrong radio frequency. After a 30 minute programming process, it only partly functioned. Darran took the time to show me what to look for on the FCC ID code so I could get the correct Fob. He declined payment and said we'd take care of it when we got the new fob programmed. He had already cut the key by the way. When I got the right one, he had to do the 30 minute programming process again. He had to do it twice because I had brought him the wrong key, and I don't think it would have been unfair for him to charge for both times. But he didn't even seem to consider that. The woman who came to help me today was a lifesaver! After calling AAA, the first guy (from aaa in the typical tow truck) arrived and couldn't get my car open after 30 minutes of trying. He proceeded to tell me several reasons why I was SOL, that he had to call a locksmith and I was going to have to get a new key fob. I'm a student and I typically don't have the means for sudden expenses like this, that's why I have aaa. I spent the next few minutes completely stressed out until advance auto showed up. The woman hopped out of her vehicle and had my car opened (through the same method the other guy could not handle) in less than a minute! She was so sweet and absolutely saved the day! I wish I could thank her more. I am not discounting aaa, I have had awesome experiences with them in the past, but I think this instance really demonstrated what a top rated locksmith business is all about and I wanted to give them the credit! I lost my key and they made another one on site. Why is this a 5-star rating? I'd lost the key before and was told by the top locksmith stores in my area I had to have my car towed to the dealership because only the dealership could "marry" the new key to my car. That lost key cost me $250. It's now 8 months later and I'm on vacation. Rats, lost my key again and I called AAA for a tow to the dealership. The AAA rep suggested I try AA Advanced Auto first.
