I've passed a Dave's Hot Chicken in Manhattan multiple times but it was always when I was running to catch a bus so I never got to stop in. Recently Dave's Hot Chicken ran a promotion that crossed over with the "Fallout" Amazon show so I had extra incentive to visit! I was home so I wound up driving to this location on 22. To get the promotion, I ordered a meal with the "saucy bites". I ordered the bites with the spicy BBQ sauce. The texture was fantastic, with a good crisp exterior and the chicken was not dried out, which is always my biggest worry with such dishes. The spice was low for me, but your mileage may vary. The interior of the restaurant has plenty of seating. This includes one long table with high chairs and more conventional tables with seats. Another hot chicken place in NJ. This is one of the better ones that I've tried. I Chicken was very juicy. I ordered hot, which was just perfect. Not overly spicy. The rub they used was great too.... really flavorful. All of the combos seems to consist of 2 items + fries, which is actually too much food. I got the 2 sliders ($15), and struggled to finish. 2 sliders + fries is probably better for 2 people (may add a tender or two). Next time I may just get 2 tenders.
