Had to come see what all the hype was about with the mozzarella sticks--and WOW, they did not disappoint! The spicy one was delicious, the chicken sandwich was flavorful, and the fries were perfectly crispy. The staff was super friendly and gave great recommendations for a first-time customer. Great food, great service, and I'll definitely be back! read more

Popular spot and I can see why! The fried chicken here is impressive - it's reasonably priced, generously sized, and nicely flavored. Despite the "hot" name, you can also choose no spice so I appreciate that everyone can come here with any level of spice tolerance. I shared the two sliders with fries plus a side order of mac & cheese, and I was surprised the sliders were almost the size of standard burgers! It actually ended up being great to share for two people (or alternatively, I saw others boxing their second slider for home). I happened to stop by during a lull, but shortly afterwards the line almost filled up the entire entrance area. Definitely a popular lunch spot. read more

My first time trying Dave's Hot Chicken and I GET THE HYPE. The chicken tenders are so juicy and flavorful?? And the Dave's sauce is better than Raising Canes ahhhhh The only thing is it does take some time for them to get the food out. I recommend getting the level of hot spice or higher if you can handle heat! that's all from me B^) read more

I've passed a Dave's Hot Chicken in Manhattan multiple times but it was always when I was running to catch a bus so I never got to stop in. Recently Dave's Hot Chicken ran a promotion that crossed over with the "Fallout" Amazon show so I had extra incentive to visit! I was home so I wound up driving to this location on 22. To get the promotion, I ordered a meal with the "saucy bites". I ordered the bites with the spicy BBQ sauce. The texture was fantastic, with a good crisp exterior and the chicken was not dried out, which is always my biggest worry with such dishes. The spice was low for me, but your mileage may vary. The interior of the restaurant has plenty of seating. This includes one long table with high chairs and more conventional tables with seats. The interior is painted with bright colors and looked very fun and welcoming. They do have rest rooms as well. The staff was super nice and answered my questions about the menu. Dave's Hot Chicken is a great place to get a snack or a fast food meal. read more

Taking out for my nephew who lives Daves. The bites and slider and a wait. Interesting shake menu. The place has a crowd. The decor is cool. The chicken can be mild or spicy and it's pretty good for a fat food type of place. read more

Another hot chicken place in NJ. This is one of the better ones that I've tried. I Chicken was very juicy. I ordered hot, which was just perfect. Not overly spicy. The rub they used was great too.... really flavorful. All of the combos seems to consist of 2 items + fries, which is actually too much food. I got the 2 sliders ($15), and struggled to finish. 2 sliders + fries is probably better for 2 people (may add a tender or two). Next time I may just get 2 tenders. Fries are crinkle cut, and cooked well. Again, I enjoyed the seasoning that they used. Its in the same plaza as best buy, k pot, etc, so its a huge lot but can get busy, And of course you need to deal with the idiotic driving on the 22. read more

Went here again after having bad experience my first time here. I got their # 3 Combo which includes hot chicken slider, chicken tender and fries and a chocolate shake. They give you a sliding scale choice of how hot you want it. I ordered hot. Slider was good, but still think too much batter on chicken. Tender was huge. Fries are crinkle cut , similar to store bought and average at best. Heat was nice on chicken. Chocolate shake was very good. read more

A delicious hot chicken sandwich. I'd add some hot honey on top. Tasty fries and I had the Cinnamon Toast Crunch shake. I like that it's extremely convenient right off 22. Plenty of parking. Place is always busy probably order online or over the phone so you don't have to wait for long. I think this is one of my top 5 chicken sandwiches. I like the hip hop graffiti decor they have in the restaurant. Plenty of seating just gets crowded when the lines are long. read more

We got 2 sliders and fries to share. It was good size slider for a lunch. I think 2 would have been too much for me. We got mild and it was perfect. I cannot imagine what would be like if it was extreme. I would definitely return. I recommend this place for good juicy chicken sandwich. It's comparable to chick-o-filet. Good to addition to our town. Service was good, it took about 5 minutes to get food, so I guess they make it as it ordered. Place was interestingly painted and decorated with modern craziness. read more

A quick-service tasty chicken spot that is a great lunch stop if you are in the area. Love the various levels of spice they have on all their chicken options. Tenders are thick and full almost 1/2 breasts if you like that type of tender. read more

Dave's Hot Chicken just opened near my job, so I had to check it out for lunch. I went with the hot nuggets--not realizing they come coated in a dry rub. Heads up: they can be a little dry on their own, so dipping sauce is a must. Heat level was mild for me, but I've heard the top-tier spice is no joke. Fries were golden and crispy, no complaints there. read more

From ordering, to pick up, to eating, this was a real treat. We ordered online very late morning and it was ready within a few minutes. Tried a variety of things, including the "not chicken" cauliflower bites, which were amazing. Went with medium-heat tenders and slider, and then ordered a couple of hot tenders to share among us. Great heat, not too overpowering for most of us, and the Dave's sauce was great. read more

I did the two sliders with cheese fries. It was really good. Only took a couple minutes. I ordered them hot, which was the medium spice level. It was very hot. I'd say equivalent to a medium in Thai food or Indian food, which is very hot most places. read more

My experience with Dave's was ok. The ladies taking orders all kinda had attitudes like they didn't wanna be there. The food is made to order so it was fresh and templates ordered the extra hot and it was really hot. The only thing was is that it was hot and not much flavor. I love spicy food but please add more flavor to it. I also ordered the the nuggets with no spice. I found that without the sauce added, not much flavor either. read more

VERY, VERY, VERY SLOW! Chicken is great. But if you are in a hurry or on your lunch hour, FORGET IT! At least 30 minutes from ordering to arriving in my hands. read more

The best costumer service on route 22, I show up right before closing and the still took my very large order with a smile

The fantastic chicken tenders are always what I come to eat. However, I wanted to try to have the not chicken tenders, which is a cauliflower tender slider (medium spice) prepared the same way and it was amazing. I prefer my french fries without the flavoring so I request that they give me fries without seasoning. The service is spectacular and they really know their products and give suggestions on what to try. The sauce is amazing. And the slider comes with coleslaw, pickle, sauce. You order at the counter or online. They have several seats to sit at - either bar stool at the window or at the tables. I will return! read more

Really delicious large tenders and fries. Got the mild spice and it was still pretty spicy, but very good. Fries were great, nice and crispy. Quick, friendly service. Cool, colorful, relaxed, modern graffiti style atmosphere. Highly recommend. read more

This was my second visit to same location. I enjoyed the meal therefore went back for exact meal. The service was superb! The counterperson should be commended on attending to customers without a hiccup. She continued to keep the flow of online pick-up orders going, as well as, walk-ins too! Great customer service - which seems to have taken a back seat with merchants lately. Hooray to Tanta-Nasha C for the ability to do all!!! Union NJ 07083. read more

The food was delicious. Left me nice and full. Service was a bit slow, but the food was ready in less than 15 minutes. Great location to place this fast food restaurant. read more

I have heard great things about Dave's Hot Chicken so I was so disappointed when I ordered the medium chicken and as soon as I got it home the overwhelming smell of cumin was awful. I like spice but this was so bad it permeated through the plastic lid on the chicken. I am not sure if this was a mistake or if it supposed to be so over spiced but I will not go back. With all of the hot chicken places in the area, I will not take a chance again read more

The bad is that I shouldn't be eating fried foods. You know, with the all of the grease/saturated fats. But it taste good. Nice and crunchy. I'm still undecide so I'll have to go back to assess food further...................LOL..... read more

Service was awesome, staff was super nice and gave me suggestions of sauces to use (I highly recommend adding honey!). Food in general is delicious/ fresh. I ordered 2 sliders with fries, it was more than enough food. Next time I'll likely opt for 1 slider. read more
