Husband and I ordered the 2 slider combo to split which came with fries and pickles. The sandwich has a kale slaw which is delicious and balances well eith the spice. The two sliders were more than enough! The sliders are big and to me seemed like the size of a normal sandwich. We got level Hot which was still manageable. I was so excited to see something go into this building, as we charge our car at the Electrify America stations right by here. We usually go eat lunch while our car charges and do get tired of the same old things over and over again sometimes. I was initially a little afraid because of the "hot chicken" name, that it would be too spicy, but you can choose your spice level and get it mild for wimps like me. The interior has cute branding with fun murals and saying sprayed on the walls. Everything seemed clean enough too, which I know can be hard with these types of "faster" food establishments. We first visited a little later than we normally eat, but they were still open an hour more when we walked in. However, they were already putting chairs up on tables and kind of acting annoyed that we were there. We've been back a few times, and it was better than that first time, but you'd think that if they were still open they wouldn't be putting things away while people are eating. We have a few favorite things we always gravitate toward: The Top Loaded Fries are delicious, and covered in pickles, Dave's sauce, cheese sauce, and the Dave's bites (chicken bits). I'm a saucy girl, so I loved the sauces and pickles on these fries! They also offer them as cauliflower bites vs. chicken, which I appreciate. For my meal, I will get the Two Sliders or the Dave Bites (which are basically like chicken tenders). The sliders are not really slider size, they are basically two full chicken strips on bread, so come hungry if you're getting these. If you get any of the hand held chicken pieces (like the Dave's Bites), get a LOT of napkins because any of the sauces or dry rubs that we have tried always come off heavily on your hands. I even just get the Mild and even that does it too. We asked for a few packets of the Dave's Sauce the first time we went, and those packets are NOT easy to open. We asked an employee if there was a trick to open them and he said you have to use your teeth - what?! They also have a few little treats, and we have tried the Top Loaded Shakes. The Lucky Charms Top Loaded Shake sort of just tastes like cereal in sweet milk, because the vanilla base melts pretty quick making it milky. I'd say Dave's Hot Chicken is a little hit or miss in terms of the service you'll receive, but the food is pretty consistent and it doesn't cost an arm and a leg! read more

Wasn't sure what to expect, but ended up really impressed! We tried the sliders, tenders, mac and cheese, and loaded fries--and sampled all the sauces except the hottest levels. I was a little nervous it would all be Nashville-level spicy, but you can actually choose your heat, which was a nice surprise. Once we got home, everything was still fresh, and our order was accurate. I had been looking forward to trying this spot and the food was good, just not particularly memorable. Kids loved the milkshakes. My daughter did not care for the Dave's bites with *no* spice, said they were "too spicy." We each sampled one and didn't agree. However, the crust-to-chicken ratio was pretty high. The slider was a lot better. My son had sides of mac and cheese and fries instead of chicken, didn't eat much of the mac, liked the fries. I felt a little nickel-and-dimed on not having plasticware available by default. You could ask for a fork, if anyone was behind the counter to give it to you. Just tried Dave's for the first time. The restaurant is definitely uniquely decorated, it grabs your attention right away, way different than any other fast food place. I was glad to see you could order your hot chicken to the spice level you desired. The kids got no spice, I tried the mild and my wife went for the medium. We ordered 4 meals with drinks and it was 67 dollars. That seemed pretty steep for fast food before we got our meals. All I can say is the portions are pretty large! Next time we won't order so much! The 2 "slider" meal is 2 legit full size chicken sandwiches and fries. The tenders are much larger than a tender from Canes or anywhere else, it's basically a full size chicken breast almost. Now onto the flavor, the mild was fantastic, just the tiniest hit of heat but lots of flavor, the medium definitely kicked it up a notch! I can't imagine how spicy the levels past that are, and I won't find out! lol The French fries were excellent, a crinkle cut fry with some of Dave's seasoning on them, to me it was perfection, crispy, hot, and seasoned. 5 stars from this guy. Really good tenders! Flavorful, substantial, REAL chicken, and different levels of spice from no spice, lite-mild, mild, medium, hot, extra hot, and reaper. You can order two different types in a two tender meal. I do like some spice and ordered the medium and hot. The medium was too hot and the hot was waaay too hot. The owner replaced my two tenders with the lite-mild. I thought that was generous! I think next time I'll try the mild. My family and I have been to this restaurant a couple times since it opened and I am amazed by how tasty it is. My wife and I tried this restaurant on a trip outside the state and we were thrilled when we saw that they were opening up one here. The chicken is delicious, and you can get it in sandwiches or tenders, with your desired level of spice. Many of the meals (there's four of them) allow you to have different spice levels on both items so you can mix and match to your heart's content. It's not too pricey for fried chicken, for example meal for two is just over 30 bucks. All visits have been great and this is a place that I will continue to visit. read more

I tried the Mac n cheese and it taste like Cajun seasoned kraft so I know my kid wouldn't like it and there's better options with Panera and even chik-fil-a close by. The chicken was ok not great, I could go to raising canes and be just as satisfied plus get the better "canes" sauce. The service wasn't great but I won't ding them for that as it's new and people are learning the ropes and they are really busy, with wait times 45min-1hour. There's a sign by the barroom that says started in a lot with $900 and a fryer, it shouldn't have ever left that lot. It was the most over hyped fast food place I have ever heard about I was ecstatic to try it out, my food was anything but special. I will start with the shake I was under the impression that it was a shake and not a topper I saw the sign in the window and was excited to try it. I paid 6.99 for the shake, it had the worst ice cream I've ever had topped with stale fruity pebbles. The ice cream was foamy It was worse then the soft serve ice cream at my great grandparents senior home. The fries were the best part about my meal when the side outshines the main corse you know something is wrong. The chicken was dry and it was pretty busy I am astonished that many people will spend their harder money on such awful food. I ordered via web site for my order for myself and my wife for a future pickup. I arrived a little early and there were numerous employees wondering around. I finally asked one if they could help me with my order and she checked and said they'd prepare it.
