I have been here a few times. Dave's Hot Chicken is bomb dot com. Plump juicy chicken, variety of heat levels (i always get hot and extra hot), good fries. And the kale slaw and pickles are excellent. You always get extra Dave's sauce too. It's tangy. I would say away from the super expensive milkshakes ($4.99-$7.99), although they taste good. Just ice cream with toppings really. Overall affordability is mid range for take out chicken. You can piece meal how u want for meal with a variety of combinations so fit to your $$ desires. Parking is easy and staff is friendly. Place always has a crowd with its bright colorful decor. Highly recommend. read more

Dave's Hot Chicken -- Odessa, FL Stepping into @daveshotchicken feels like walking into a spicy work of art -- bright, bold, and full of personality. Every wall pops with unique murals that make the whole place Instagram-worthy before you even take a bite. We went all in with: Dave's #1: 2 Tenders w/ Fries ($12.69) -- comes with pickles, sliced bread, and that signature Dave's Sauce. Dave's #2: 2 Sliders w/ Fries ($14.69) -- stacked with kale slaw, pickles, and drizzled in Dave's Sauce. 10 pc. Dave's Bites w/ Fries ($9.99) -- white meat bites with bread, pickles & sauce. Lucky Charms Top Loaded Shake -- pure nostalgia in a cup! Frozen Hi-C Lavaburst with Strawberry Boba -- a fun, fruity twist that totally hit the spot. The food? Flavorful and satisfying -- though the nuggets were a bit overcooked. The sliders and tenders blew us away in size; don't let "slider" fool you, these are full-on sandwich beasts! The drinks and desserts? 10/10 -- sweet perfection. Prices are on par with other chicken spots today, but the atmosphere and food portions make it worth it. My only wish? A little more sauce variety (a good BBQ would've sealed the deal). Still, we left happy, full, and already planning our next visit. Bold flavors. Big portions. Killer vibe. That's Dave's Hot Chicken. #DavesHotChicken #SpicyVibesOnly #ChickenLovers #NashvilleHotChicken #EatLutz #FoodieAdventures #YelpEats #FoodReview #FriedChickenGoals #ChickenSandwich #FoodieFinds #TendersAndFries read more

It's good chicken good quality chicken. My mother loves it. I'm not the biggest fan. I like Magoos chicken better or I just think it's the hot spicy chicken. I got it kind of taste. First of all, fast-ish food with major vegetarian offerings? Incredible... this location is awesome and, even when it's super busy, Kelli M at the front keeps things controlled with a smile on her face. Love the cauli-sliders and my family loves the chicken. The extra Dave's sauce packets come in clutch when we can't come but want that special touch on something at home. Overall this is a great addition to a growing area and they make some mean cauliflower read more

The food was pretty good. I am picky on fries but these weren't too bad. It would've been really tasty with cheese sauce. I love their variety of the heat levels for the chicken. I think next time I come I will get the tenders. I love how they give you a lot of pickles on the side as well as on the sandwich. We also got their cereal milkshakes, but they were pretty runny like soup. The cereal pieces were just piled on top and not mixed in at all. But other than that, good food. read more

This place recently opened so I had to give it a try. Luckily I ordered ahead in the app so I was able to skip the long lunch line. Counter staff was very pleasant and friendly. The store itself is very bright and clean. I opted for "hot" strips and an upcharge for cheese fries. The chicken was flavorful but even this lowest level of hot was too much for me. Next time I'll try a mild heat. The fries were tasty but not worth the upcharge given the very small amount of cheese sauce. Overall not a bad choice for a quick meal. read more

I was so excited to try this restaurant, but the only thing that was good what the customer service, and the inside of the restaurant . This has to be some of the worst chicken I've ever had. This chicken tastes like it was covered in a bad taco seasoning is what comes to mind. It was like with every bite I was just get a mouthful of dry spice; which wouldn't have been bad if it tasted good. My son ordered two sliders he took two bite and said "Nope" this is nasty. I have no idea what all of the hype is about this place because the food is gross. Will never be going back. If I could have given it a zero I would have. read more

Disappointing as this is close to me. The cashier never smiled or acknowledged me and wow they ask for a tip when paying (I have issues w paying tip for fast food). The chicken tender meal I got was bad - the tenders were tough and can't chew through. The cauliflower bites were not like the ones from another Dave's restaurant where I believe the first ones I tried were battered and these just had the seasoning. Perhaps they had changed the recipe. Sadly I will not be back as I paid $24+dollars for sub par food and service. read more

From the Business

Specialties

Dave's Hot Chicken was created by best friends Dave Kopushyan, Arman Oganesyan, and Tommy and Gary Rubenyan. Dave, a chef trained in Thomas Keller's (French Laundry) organization set out to create the perfect Hot Chicken by searching, tasting, and frying. The four friends scrounged up $900 to put a tiny stand in an East Hollywood parking lot. The menu was simple, and chicken was the star. And what chicken it is! Sourced and prepared to be the juiciest and most tender imaginable with each piece topped with Dave's own mix of spices ranging from "Mild" to "The Reaper". Arman created Instagram buzz and the lines began to grow. Two nights later, Eater/LA showed up to see what the fuss was about. The next morning's headline read "East Hollywood's Late Night Chicken Stand Might Blow Your Mind". Almost instantly, the lines stretched around the block. A year later, the boys had the money to open a shop in a hip strip-mall with de_cor by local street artists, where the crowds continued to grow with wait-times of an hour and more. From there, the incredibly craveable "Hot and Spicy" varieties have created a cult following with rave reviews across the U.S. and Canada.

History

Established in 2017.

In 2017, four childhood friends came up with a simple concept -- take Nashville Hot Chicken and make it better than anyone else in America. With only a couple thousand dollars to their name, they boot-strapped a pop-up concept in a parking lot in East Hollywood serving a simple menu of tenders, sliders, fries, and kale slaw -- they created a viral cult following with lines consistently over an hour long. After 6 months of running the pop-up with long lines, the team took the plunge and opened their first physical store in January 2018 in a sleepy strip center in East Hollywood. Demand for their crave-able hot chicken exceeded all expectations and sales have grown every month since opening with consistently long lines throughout the day.

Dave's Hot Chicken was a great experience overall! The restaurant was super clean and had a nice vibe. The staff was really friendly and welcoming, which made the visit even better. The chicken itself was high quality. Crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside and you can choose your spice level which is a nice touch. Personally, I wasn't a big fan of the seasoning flavor; it just didn't have as much flavor as I expected. I was also a little disappointed that they didn't have ranch for dipping. That would've taken it up a notch! I didn't try the shakes this time, but they looked amazing, so I'll definitely be going back to grab one. Overall, solid spot for hot chicken fans and worth checking out! read more

My suggestion would be to have one person dedicated to taking orders and another handling checkout/window service. It would make the experience smoother for customers and help avoid confusion with orders. It became frustrating having to repeat myself so many times, and honestly it made me nervous that my order wouldn't come out correctly because it didn't seem like she was really listening. Pics never look as good as the food IRL, but I put one in for posterity. (It looks pretty good!)
