This is a quaint little cafe with some really great food and cafe con leche. I've driven past this place a few times on my way to Starkey Market and decided to stop in - the woman behind the counter was friendly and greeted us right away. I ordered a cafe con leche, ham croquettas, and a guava & cheese and guava pastry. Everything was great. The cafe con leche was fantastic - and the croquettas are a steal, highly recommend trying them! After years of driving by Havana Dreamers Cafe, we finally had the chance to try it in January. My family and I rented bikes from the shop next door and worked up an appetite after our ride. We popped in to Havana Dreamers Cafe and were greeted right away. The staff was friendly and helpful. Rudy and Arlisa are a dream to work with for events! Havana Dreamers catered our daughter's graduation celebration and everything was impeccably presented and attended to while we celebrated! We had a brunch celebration, so our menu included a platter beautiful pastries, a breakfast Cuban, their Tampa Cuban, and their amazing crowd favorite Cuban Godfather platters, a half of yellow rice, fruits and veggies trays, biscuits and gravy, and their amazing crowd graduates requests of pretzel bites and beer cheese dip! We always over order (better to have more than enough than not enough!) and Rudy packed the few leftovers for us to refrigerate and have as leftovers- which we enjoyed over the next couple of days! We also had a coffee station serving Cafe Bustelo brewed to perfection! Rudy, Arlisa, and I met one evening to go over options and menus, ordered through messaging and phone, revised and then finished the contract online, and was left to be worry-free to enjoy time with family and friends to celebrate our girl! We are so thankful for Havana Dreamers and their hard work- I just wish I'd have taken pics of the food table or more pics of the event in general- just glad we lived in the moment, I suppose . I had a Cuban sandwich at HDC on 12-19-25. The place is an excellent find, and my Cuban had a good supply of meats on it. It was pressed and tasted really good. However, I don't believe the bread is from a Cuban bakery. It toasted well but was missing a bit of flavor, perhaps the lack of a piece of palm baked on top of real Cuban bread. The sandwich was large, so I saved 1/2 to take home. A few days later I took a couple of bites of the sandwich, cold. Here's where you can tell that the bread isn't from a Cuban bakery. The sandwich was mushy. Cuban bread usually doesn't get mushy; even cold it has a crispness to it. Two excellent Tampa Cuban bakeries, La Segunda and Mauricio Faedo's, have delivery options with independent delivery people. I love how it's a quaint little cafe! The staff was super friendly! We both ordered the Miami Cuban and Cafe Con Leche! The Cuban was AMAZING! The roasted pork was fresh and hot! Yes yes yes!! Props for Havana Dreamers Cafe!! Called in two Tampa Cuban Sandwiches on Media Noche Bread to pick up. They said 30 min. No prob. That's how long it takes us to get there. We were taking it to the beach. Got there, it was ready, also picked up Cuban coffee and it was done and done. Super easy. Lots of people were there on a Sunday morning inside and outside. I've been to this cafe 3 times since i've moved to this area. It's fast Cuban food such as sandwiches and other handheld food and coffee. First time I went my mom and I shared some cinnamon sugar toast (I think it was called churro toast or something like that) and the cafe con leche. I was asked unsweet or sweet, I asked lightly sweetened but still got it super sweet. Next two times I had their empanadas and other fried handheld foods. I prefer baked empanadas which I don't think they have. But the fried ones were good, just greasy as to be expected. Something I noticed is the employees are usually rude or come across as unfriendly. Not a good look for mom and pop shops. Food can be good and drinks can be good but for me, what keeps me coming back to a place is friendly service (hence the 3 stars). read more

Move over Tampa, real Cuban food is here in Trinity and oh so delicious! My first visit to Havana Dreamers Cafe was immediately enhanced by my server Felicia. She should be the mentor for all restaurant servers! Great friendly greeting and she did everything she could to please me. I felt for a moment like I was in a fine dining restaurant. You'll literally see lots of references to the owners family with pictures galore adorning walls and table tops making a unique statement about their strong Cuban ancestral roots. Inside eating is permissible however on beautiful days you may want to enjoy their outside seating which is plentiful. I was thrilled that Havana Dreamers has continued the Tampa tradition of serving deviled crab, empanadas, black bean soup and two different types of Cuban sandwiches. The traditional Cuban mostly served in Tampa eateries with ham and pork is referred to as their "Miami," Cuban. Then they inject a new twist adding freshly sliced salami in addition to the regular Cuban. I went with Felicia's recommendation and chose the salami. This is one of if not the best Cuban sandwich I've ever eaten, packed full with meat and the roll was perfect. I topped it off with great tasting freshly brewed cafe con leche and some homemade banana muffins for dessert. My server says flan will be added as a dessert soon. What to do at 6:30am? Breakfast IS served! Meals and more till 4! All reasonably priced. Great relaxing atmosphere with uptempo Cuban music and authentic Cuban food. Close your eyes for a moment.
