We weren't starving, but we got: DAVE'S #1: 2 Tenders w/Fries DAVE'S BITES Medium Drink We asked for *Medium Spicy* But maybe should have asked for mild. Feeling the tops of our heads heat up and sweat may have been an indication The Tenders were big; like a half breast. Coated with a dry-rub. Surprisingly, the chicken was so moist and juicy. The Bites were more like breaded chunks, with the same juicy-ness as the Tenders. Fries were good, and we refilled our soda cup like 4 times to douse the fire. Woah! Fried chicken done right. Dave's is newer to the neighborhood and I had to find out what they were all about. Tucked inside a mini plaza, parking is ample and seating is too. As a newbie the staff was patient and made sure they read my order back perfectly. Chicken comes on a single piece of toast which I enjoyed way more than I thought. Sauce is NOT sloppy drenched and had just the right heat for mild. Mac was simple (toddler approved) and the bites were PLUMP. Under the pickles is the pink sauce (must try). Also the shake was the star if the show. Chunky and loaded. You will need a spoon to scoop the bottom. As for the location. Super casual with cool graffiti on the walls. First time trying Dave's hot chicken. The food was hot and fresh. I will say it's not my particular preference for flavor but if you are into hot chicken I'd say try it. It was pretty busy when I walked in for my mobile order. I waited 15 minutes longer than the order email confirmed would be my pickup time. Not a deal breaker since it was lunch time, but the system should be updated to account for busier times. Nonetheless, if you are into hot chicken try it but it wasn't necessarily for me. Dave's new deal of 20 mini sliders for $40 is a complete rip-off. Overpriced new deal. It says it serves 5 people, but honestly it only serves 2 people. They cut one regular slider into 4 mini sliders and 20 mini from 5 regular sliders, completely ripped off. I am a huge fan of DHC and this location did not disappoint. I have been waiting for DHC to open a location in Monmouth County for years, and I am so glad it is finally here!! I ordered the #3 (1 tender, 1 slider with fries). I ordered my tender mild, and my slider medium. Both were absolutely incredible. The fries were also seasoned so incredibly well. It was very unimpressive and extremely expensive. $5 for one chicken tender is nuts. It was far from the juciest, most flavorful chicken I've had. Whatever peppers they use are not very flavorful. It just tasted like hot and sugar. The mac & cheese was also very middle of the road. Chick-fil-A has way better mac. I would never go again. So I received a request from dhc to reach out to there website (dhc tellusdirect) in order for them to try and regain the 3 stars that they fell short of on my initial review . So I went on the website put in the location that I visited only for it to not show up at all. The location that I visited I tried several different ways to put in the address of the city ,state,and zip code still I was unable to not only give dhc there opportunity to regain the 3 stars for there poor tasting food (in my opinion as I clearly stated in my first review) But now I have to add along to that review of there food there poor customer service website and its inability to allow me to give them the chance that they reached out to me asking to allow them somehow to redeem their reputation and make me change my mind towards what honestly may have just been a one time thing of me not enjoying my meal that day . Was I ever going to frequent there establishments again?
