We were greeted with such warmth and hospitality so much so ,we were conversating with people who were not even in our party. The vibe was very familial like. The food was so delicious!!! Take a look at the picture. I do think the baked Mac Cheese was a bit underwhelming though. I felt like it needed more cheese and seasoning. Other than that I thoroughly enjoyed my food. I look forward to next week. While I was there I learned that the owner is a Marine Corps veteran who served in the Vietnam War. He has had his restaurant for 35 years. The space is long and narrow with some stool seating up front and more table and chair seating towards the back. The grill and kitchen are situated in the middle of the restaurant. The place only has indoor seating, which fits the speakeasy vibe nicely. Overall, I'd recommend The Speakeatery for breakfast or lunch when you're visiting Asbury Park for the day.
