1st time ever in a Dave's, so I have no way to compare to other locations etc. First off, the young lady behind the counter was friendly and energetic which is always a great way to start any counter service experience. The store was clean and there was a fair amount of available parking. I got the mild tenders because I'm whiter than wonder bread and I had no idea what higher levels of heat here would do to me. For me, mild was perfect but I probably could have tolerated medium. I got 2 tenders and they were really filling. Looked after the fact and they're around 550 calories a piece. They're very meaty and what I really like was the flavors you could taste through the heat. Their blend of herbs and spices would make the colonel blush. Next time I go I think I want to spilt an order of tenders with someone and get the first 4 levels of heat (including none) to compare. The highest level would undoubtedly create an unwelcome inferno throughout my alimentary tract and would not be necessary for me to experience. read more

Immediately when I walked in, I was greeted by the friendliest employee who went over the menu with me! I went with the Dave's #4 and it was delicious!! The chicken was moist, the fries were seasoned perfectly and the Dave's signature sauce was out of this world! I also am a pickle fan so I appreciated the pickles on the side! Haha definitely check this place out! read more

Dave's Hot Chicken - Dave's #4 1 Slider with Fries - Chicken Shop Near Me - Franklin, Massachusetts

Not the best chicken Been to my fair share of chicken tender places. This is a chain that I have yet to try, so on the way back from Boston I made a detour to give this place a try. The inside has a lot of character. When I came in there was no one making the front. We ordered online and the order was ready when I pulled into this location. It took someone about 5 minutes to even show, and they immediately started ringing up people in the order line rather than address those waiting to pick up. Another 2 minutes later. Someone else shows up, fetches the bag behind the counter with minimal interaction. The chicken was still warm, but was overcooked. The reaper ranch was light on the ranch and was hot but lacking any real flavor other than the burn. The daves sauce was overly sweet, and the French fries topped with Mac and cheese were good but really lacking in toppings. It was like a tablespoon of Mac n cheese to a handful of fries and two chicken nuggets on top. At the price we paid, the quality does not justify the price point. It's expensive small chicken tenders with lacking sauce and indifferent staff. When your menu is limited, you need to execute properly and this location is not executing. Not sure if it's true across the brand, but there's many chicken tender spots to try and this one missed the mark read more

Very nice. Got the number 3, one tender and one slider but wow, each pc was huge, juicy and filling. Its a powdered dry rub and hot was perfect from heat list. Trust me, nothing small about the slider except the bun. Well worth it spot to check out. Great friendly staff too. read more

Food/Drinks: Perfect for a chicken tender lover like myself. These tenders are delicious, and they have different heat levels, which give you a variety to try from. I'm a spicy type of girl, and they definitely put a lot of spice on their chicken. It is very, very seasoned. It can definitely give you heartburn, but it's worth it lol. The combos and how filling these meals are are definitely worth the price. The fries that it comes with are also pretty good, and it's a perfect combo for the tenders. I'm also obsessed with their slushy's. They're so delicious! Location: This location is super casual, mainly a grab-and-go, but you can also sit down and eat there, similar to most fast food joints. They also have free parking around the building. Service: We usually order online to go pick up, service is pretty quick and efficient. Whenever we have cravings for delicious tenders, we will definitely come back! read more

Great service. Served quick, food was ginormous yummy, blue raspberry slushy was bomb!!!!!!

Superrrr busy especially if you're going with a group. W managed to find seating. Despite the business, staff were very upbeat and quick with our food. I had the sliders and fries. My spice level was at mild I believe but definitely make sure you can handle what you get!! Fries are well seasoned and shake was just the right amount of thickness without being too thick. Would recommend! read more

Incredible chicken and very helpful service. Pickles are quite abundant and delicious

Came here because I've never been. The young lady behind the counter was very friendly but really couldn't go beyond recommending anything specific other than everything was delicious. I didn't know how to order so I ended up paying almost $40 for two chicken sliders, what I thought was going to be chicken slider with mozzarella and an order of french fries. I ended up getting two chicken slider and an order of the fries and then two breaded patties of mozzarella cheese. Not at all what I was anticipating. Yet, the young ladies behind the counter, didn't let me know any different as I had specifically said to them I came to try their chicken. The two chicken slider that I got were decent and the fries were standard crinkle fries. Now that I know I can order two sliders and fries for about $14, I might go back and give it a second chance. Could've been a better experience if I had been provided a little bit extra customer service. read more

Always great fried chicken at Dave's! Love the reaper spice level of fried chicken. The spice isn't too much and tastes amazing with their special sauce. The sandwich with a tender on the side is the go to for me. The fries have a great crisp every time. The pickles are good too and I'm not even a pickle person. Glad they put a location closure to me! read more

The servers were nice and attentive. 1st time here so wasn't sure what to expect. The menu is small but concise. Tried the Top loaded fries. Not knowing the spice level I decided on medium. There were only three small nuggets of chicken on it. Not that I was expecting a ton. The dish was good. I could've gone up in the spice level. That with a small Coca Cola was $11. Food costs are so high now. I'd come back to try a different item. Now that I know what to expect. read more

I absolutely love it here. I think I order from Dave's all the time through DoorDash probably once every two or three weeks I order from here, man one time I ordered their hottest sandwich and I nearly died at work. It was so hot. I was like crying and just burning out of everywhere but honestly, it's a really good place. It's worth the hype. The only thing is that every time I order on DoorDash, I'll order like two or three sauces and only pack one so let's say like I'll order like a ranch and then I'll order like a spicy ranch and then I'll order like a hot honey sauce or something and they'll only pack a ranch and they've done this every single time I order and that's the only thing that I'm disappointed in. Otherwise go get yourself some Dave's hot chicken with their pickles definitely with their pickles. read more

My guy and I ordered Dave's off of Grub Hub and the food came quickly and piping hot. We each grabbed a "slider" combo that comes with two LARGE sliders, a side of fries, dipping sauce and pickles. I was full after one slider. I opted for mild and it had a nice smokey spice to it. My partner opted for the hot and extra hot sauce which he said had the right amount of heat and flavor. Definitely a new favorite fried chicken place for us. read more

Nice place with a clean setup and a really friendly staff. The menu has a good variety, and everything looked fresh and well put together. I ordered the 2 sliders with fries -- great flavor and cooked perfectly, but I did think it was a little pricey at just over $16, especially since the combo doesn't include a drink. Overall, I'd definitely go back again for the food and service, but it's not quite in my top 15 lunch spots. Still worth checking out if you're in the area and craving some spicy chicken. read more

The chicken was spicy and very delicious. The sauce needs to be bottled. I love how they cook the French fries. Everything tastes amazing. Service kinda steady a lot of people ordering at once. Ambiance is modern and has trendy decor. Will be back again to try the boneless wings. read more

Kinda loud and chaotic and somewhat confusing the first few times but in a good busy way if that is possible? What really matters is food and service. The food is hot (haha) delicious, and good portions for your money. Although I haven't tried everything on the menu, I'm sure I would like all of it! The service is friendly and helpful. One drawback is which is bad for patrons but good for the restaurant is lines of people and lack of tables which is good for them. Because it means that they are doing well as a restaurant. It is pretty busy all day long. Bad for patrons because the small space and small numbers of tables means you might be eating in your car or somewhere else. I would say Dave's Hot Chicken is a take away spot. At least this one seems to be. Ordering online is breeze and recommended. The app works well and easy to navigate. What I like is being able to choose the heat/spice level. I have had to eat ip to a 6 without a problem. I like hot/spicy stuff so it was not a problem for me. I think the waiver form is more of a gimmick? I definitely recommend Dave's Hot Chicken if you like fried chicken tenders, nuggets and French Fries served piping hot! I would not recommend Dave's for a quiet romantic sit down dinner. Take away ordered online is your best option. If you want to sit down and eat you may have to be bold about getting a table and keep a sharp eye out for movement. Enjoy! read more

I have been to this location many times. To be fair, the first time didn't go so well. However, I have continued to go back because it keeps getting better and better. Not just the food either. The service staff at the counter have gotten so much better with the speed they do things that it makes the ambiance more upbeat and positive. When watching people get upset for having to wait a while the first few times I've gone it just felt mad in there. The Franklin staff has turned the wait time around dramatically. Hopefully we will get one in western mass soon because man do I love this chicken. read more

First time at a Dave Hot Chicken. The place was packed but the ordered kept coming out one after another. I was told a 20 minute wait but it was more like 10. I ordered 2 extra hot tenders. They were SO GOOD... The slice of bread and pickles were a nice surprise. Tenders come individually boxed. Not a huge fan of that as you can pit two in one container but oh well. It was clean and staff assisted everyone that approached the counter. One order was fixed with no questions asked. I'll be back soon. Thanks Dave! read more

My first time coming here. I got what seemed to be the best deal 2 sliders with fries. I got medium I like hot but wasn't sure of the levels of heat yet so I went middle of the road. I liked the sandwiches and the sauce it wasn't as hot as I thought medium would offer I wish I picked hotter. The fries were not hot meaning temperature they were warm may have been made earlier. I went back two days later and ordered the bites and I got those hot one step up from medium and they were much better in heat but I think I know my level next time very hot lol. I don't know if I want to try the reaper I'll have to think about that one. Service was good manager was nice restaurant was clean. Definitely going to head back to try very hot and maybe reaper. read more

Visited this location for the first time today, and drove 25 min away for it. Ordered two Sandwhich meals and slushy's for dine- in. It took a while for the food to come which was ok in my opinion, just meant the food was being freshly prepared. Inside- could've been wiped down and swept up, the floors and tables were dirty. Food- finally when the food came, the chicken on the sandwiches were cold, we asked to add on cheese and it wasn't melted. I got cheese fries they were good and hot. Which made me wonder if the sandwiches were sitting out waiting for the fries to be cooked. The orange cream slushy was good, the strawberry lemonade not so much. We also ordered a single chicken tender which was also cold. Disappointing because we were excited to try and went out of our way. I probably won't be back, I'll try another location. read more

We tried Dave's hot chicken today. The chicken and the fries were great! The tenders were meaty and tasty. The sauce was 10/10. Service needs improvement, chaotic and loud and unorganized staff. Our chicken order was never announced and left waiting under the heat lamps. Overall interesting decor, but again chaotic. This is not a fast food place, like ChicFilA. read more

Great chicken! Way better than that other chicken place. With the Kernal and the Kanes

Food is good, but the wait time is ridiculous, have been to many other Daves locations with far more foot traffic and even still far quicker service. Atop of it, it seems the employees couldn't care less for the customer experience and length of wait time. read more

Came here on opening day around 5:30pm and the line was LONG but it moved quickly! my server Janayzia was so sweet and took my order quickly but took time to confirm my items and give me a scratcher for a free slushee! I ordered the 10pc dave's bites with fries and a chocolate Oreo top-loaded shake and waited about 10 minutes for my order. the shake was great, fries had a unique seasoning (i loved it), and the chicken bites were delicious. The restaurant had a great ambience with graffiti art all over the walls. overall a great experience and going to become one of my regular spots. read more

I gave it a try; got the slider/tender combo (one or the other is plenty filling not sure why it's called a slider because it's much larger), I liked the slider. I got medium heat, to me there was no flavor in the chicken aside from a smokiness maybe from smoked paprika or chili powder but no distinct flavor to the batter (yes it looked spicy and was nice and crispy but no flavor). The frozen fruit punch had flavor in maybe the first two sips, drinks don't come w/the combos. The service was good. read more

My wife and I have loved Dave's Hot Chicken and been to many of the other locations, last weekend we both got awful food poisoning (about 24 hours of throwing up) a couple hours after eating dinner at the Franklin location. This is a tough review but I'm going to be fully honest here and not just one of the many fanboys (and don't get me wrong, i fully understand why they have so many fans). To get the obvious out of the way - (1) the food is good (not great, not bad, but very good, especially in the context of hot chicken in New England, it just doesn't exist up here). (2) the employees, for the most part, are very friendly. Not efficient, but friendly. (3) the parking lot will always hold this place back. I'm sure everyone will say the same here, but its absolutely awful. So why the 1 star? Here are my experiences so far: My first (attempt) to get lunch here, i walked in and the place was packed. I'm thinking this is a good thing, people must love them. I place my order (number 2 - slider/fries, nothing special). I pay and get my number and walk over to the other side to wait for my order. After (literally) 35 minutes, they had only called out 4 orders from people who ordered in the restaurant (online orders were going slightly faster). Doing the math in my head because i know my number and how many more people there are before me, i realize i won't be getting my slider for at least 2 more hours. That's insane. I was forced to get a refund with no food so i could get back to work. I had heard great things about their food, so i try again today. I got there early, parked in the lot 15 minutes before they open. Walk in the door at 10:59am, I'm the third person to place an order, ordered and paid by 11:01. My order number is 1003 (third person) and the 2 guys in front of me also just ordered one of their combos so nothing crazy. At 10:17 i hear them call the first number, which was someone who ordered well after me. 3-4 more orders are called, all are people who were after the first 3 of us. I know for a fact some of these just contained sliders (which is what i ordered). I walk up to the front and ask if they forgot about me and I'm told "we don't make orders in the same order as they are placed". Hmmm. I would understand if they did that for faster or slower items, but to give people literally what i ordered before me is pretty bad customer service. All in, i waited 32 minutes for the slider/fry meal when i was the third person in the building that morning. Couple other notes: 1) guy who was giving out food on Friday morning (1/3) - don't be passive aggressive to you customers. I watched a Uber eats (or similar) guy getting frustrated because he kept getting told his order was coming and it wasn't. He was right to be upset, i watched you lie to him multiple times. But the employee just keeps saying "I'll let you know boss" "not yet boss" "I'm not the one making the orders boss" - you're just being a turd, no need to upset people more, apologize, maybe give him a free soda. 2) they are keeping the unnecessary tipping culture going strong. - don't get me wrong, i think the employees (who are good) deserve top pay, but these aren't servers and they all make full wages. If they need more $$, the boss should give them a raise. If you place an order in the restaurant, the lowest tip option is 20% and i think it went up to 25 or 27. If you place an order through their app, there is an automatic 20% tip added if you don't notice and cancel it off during checkout. 3) i asked for an extra dipping sauce (Dave's sauce) and i was charged $.50 for it (no big deal), but then as i watch people come up to get their meals, the guy is asking everyone if they want more free sauces including what i just paid for. - why did i have to pay when everyone else gets them for free? 4) serious training in the kitchen needed. I watched a woman try to open a package of buns for over a minute while talking to the woman next to her (who was doing nothing during this time). - maybe fast food would take less than 30 minutes if you train up your people and make sure they are on task. 5) it seems like you prioritize online orders over people who come in and order. If so, not cool, but either way you should add the in-person orders numbers to the big order board so customer can actually see a wait time expected before losing their lunch break and not getting any food anyway. read more
