Here at Chippewa Brewing and Distillery was the perfect place. Pam and Ingrid were awesome. Not pushy and actually played into my not needing something high octane as I call it. Being creative I wanted a Sex in the Canoe and Rooster but settled on the Octberfest type beer, afterall tis the season . We so enjoyed the moment of care they didn't know our day but they were so kind. I have forgotten what the Midwest felt like. People being kind. Being an avid reader, I know never to judge a book by its cover, but the artwork on the can is honestly what got me to check out Honees Honees. It's dubbed a peanut butter & honey golden ale, which is an ale brewed with honey and lactose, with peanut butter flavor and caramel color. The artwork that so powerfully snatched my attention sort of conveys that in its own unique and trippy way. Pouring the ale reveals a clear dark gold/amber color. I found the peanut butter to be stronger on the nose than the palate. Taste favored honey, with hints of peanuts, caramel malts, and a sweet (for a beer) finish. It weighs in at 5.6% ABV. A few little yard arts, chairs, and plants...very welcoming! The B&B is on the left and the tap room is on the right, the garage, where the covered patio is. Co-owner Brenda was behind the bar. They had a good tap list, not overwhelming but enough to quench any palate. There was also a good list of guest taps, all Inbound. When Brenda mentioned she could pour me an "air" I responded... oh Lucid Air! That's one I hadn't heard in a minute! The tap room is very cozy and w Brenda also being a travel agent there is travel destination suggestions on the tap list. Mid visit the Brewer/co-owner, Ford came behind the bar. There was a decent selection of vinyl....not sure if they have a record player or it's just fun "decoration"? My friend gave me the explanation of the names on the shelving behind her. Again....fer cute!! I won't divulge it, go on & ask for yourself, I think it'd be funner hearing it in person from an owner! One friend opted for an Inbound beer. After having Brenda pour me a taste of Chubby Chipmonk Pale Wheat, which was good but better than a standard wheat beer since it's a Pale Wheat, so if you're looking for a muted beer, this isn't it, so go on and taste it. I asked my other friend f I could have a sip of his Bicycle Brown? There it is....that's what my palate is looking for! I opted for a pint of Bicycle Brown Ale... it hit the mark....as I still had a couple hour drive in front of me to the cities.
