They have an assortment of different kinds of wood (oak, birch, eucalyptus, etc) and their quality is definitely better than the stuff you get from supermarkets or home improvement stores. I grew tired of and frustrated with buying over priced and under seasoned firewood as needed from Home Depot or our local Ralph's so Ireached out to a few firewood dealers in Orange County via Yelp. Dave Shultz promptly replied to my initial inquiry, via Yelp messenger, answering my questions and giving me pricing. I purchased two racks of seasoned oak for $70 per rack, netting me a little under a quarter cord of wood. Note that is the pick up price. Dave will give you pricing for delivery and stacking. I drove my old '99 Suburban to the firewood yard off of the 241 toll road to the lot. Chatted briefly with the lot guy who was really nice (Manny I believe). I have been coming here for about 7 years now I live in RSM and been filling the back of my Ford flex up with scrap wood for $30, off cuts, bark, logs and such. Just got here and was told the prices have gone up and now that it is $50, big increase for literally scraps of wood much worse quality than before. Met Dave a couple times and a middle aged Hispanic man that always helps me and both are fantastic. Not sure If the young man was trying to pocket himself a bonus $20 but it's sad. Wow this place has a great selection of wood. The young man working is very nice and helpful. It's important to understand that this place is a self serve place which means that you have to load the wood on to your car or truck by yourself. The pricing is fair because you do the work and they sell you the wood at a discounted price. So please remember to bring a pair of gloves but if you don't remember, the young man there will let you borrow a pair. I bought almond wood. I believe this is the best wood because it burns slowly and very hot so it keeps the house nice and warm. I use the wood for my fireplace, but I also use it outside in the fire pit. I was recommended to buy some softer would to start the fire and then add almond because it is a quite a bit more expensive. I've never done this but I think I might try that next time. read more
