I say skip the place and eat somewhere else if you want good service. If you want to drink and chill I think it's alright, definitely better than their food service. My boyfriend and I decided to eat after playing games for an hour. It was around 10:00 pm when we were seated. I really wanted to sit at a booth but all 6 of their booths were not cleaned up and had stacks of plates on them. We waited a total of 15 minutes to get our menus. Waited an extra 20 minutes to be able to order our food, then another extra 40minutes to get our food we ordered. I ordered chicken and rice but they were out of rice so they offered fries. My boyfriend ordered chicken tenders and fries. $14 for 4 tiny pieces of tenders ...( he also ordered a shake that they forgot about, so we told them to take it off the tab) Server also forgot to bring us utensils with our food? All of that took almost an hour to come out. They weren't busy either. Most people were at the bar drinking or done eating and hanging out at their seats, but more than half the tables were empty. I saw my server leaning up against a counter talking to coworkers the entire time. They had at least 5 workers roaming around doing who knows what, excluding the kitchen staff. It's now 12:30am and we're out of there. While we were walking out those same 6 booths still had messy plates, cups, and trash. The tables were also very sticky, not properly wiped down. We got seated at 10pm, It wasn't busy and still 3 hours till they closed. - Dave & Buster's Scranton, PA Promotion Not Honored * Management Unable to Resolve * Refund Never Issued This review is primarily for Dave & Buster's corporate customer experience team, because the situation at the Scranton location appears to involve a breakdown in both promotion execution and management follow-through. A group of us recently visited the Scranton location after seeing the 15% discount promotion for Veterans and First Responders. Our group consisted of: * A Pennsylvania State Trooper * An RN * A decorated U.S. Army Veteran * An EMT When ordering drinks, our server asked my wife (the veteran) to retrieve her ID, which she did. At that point she mentioned that we were all first responders or veterans and appreciated the discount being offered. The server responded "Oh, ok." The food was fine. The drinks were frankly quite poor, but that wasn't the real issue. When the checks arrived, we noticed the 15% first responder/veteran discount had not been applied. When we politely pointed it out, the server insisted "the discount is already applied." It clearly was not. Our cards had already been run for the full amount, so we asked for a manager. The manager arrived and repeated the same explanation: "The discount is already applied--you just can't see it the way the system shows it." After reviewing the bill several times, she eventually acknowledged that the discount had not been applied at all. At that point we were told she could not issue a refund because apparently only the GM or Area Manager can process refunds, and they are "only here on Tuesdays." Instead, we were assured the approximately $15 difference would be credited back to the card. The manager took my name, check number, and card information. One week later: no refund. I called and left a message for the manager by name explaining the situation. I was assured the refund would be processed and that I would receive a call back. Two additional weeks later: still no refund and no call back. To summarize: * Promotion advertised for veterans and first responders * Discount not applied * Server insisted it was applied when it wasn't * Manager initially defended the same incorrect claim * Manager said she could not process refunds * Refund promised later * Three weeks later: no refund and no communication The children in our group had fun with the games, which is the only positive takeaway from the evening. But from a customer experience and operational standpoint, this was disappointing. If Dave & Buster's promotes appreciation for veterans and first responders, the staff should at minimum know how to apply the promotion--and management should follow through when a correction is promised. At this point the issue is less about the $15 and more about the lack of accountability and follow-through. Hopefully corporate leadership reviews how promotions and refund authority are being handled at this location. Pitiful! read more

I walked into the place and got seated immediately. The food was pretty good. I really do feel the wings are the best thing so that is probably what you should order. Everything else is alright and kinda expensive. It is very loud in the place and hard to hear but that's just because of the games. Visited while waiting to check in to our hotel during a recent snow storm. Most of the other restaurants were closed due to the weather and we were happy to find a place that was open. They were short staffed and I think we got seated by a cook and the bartender waited on us which we appreciated the team work as we both worked in restaurants in school. The food was good. We ordered the fried pickles and both ordered the same burger as we had suite tickets to my company's box at the baby pens. We then spent an hour playing video games and just having fun with almost nobody in the arcade. We are so glad they were open and gave us a great experience. read more

Only gave this place one star because rating it zero isn't an option. There were 6 adults and two children in our party. My husband and I only ordered an appetizer, beer and a soda. The people who ordered meals...well, it wasn't good. Boneless wings that were supposed to be bone-in, another order of wings with wrong sauce. Not sure about food at other end of table, but meals were not brought to table anywhere near the same time. Then came the wait for checks. Not exaggerating when I say it took over 20 minutes to get them after asking (I had to walk over to where servers were talking amongst themselves to ask someone to try and get our server because we thought she forgot us). She brought the checks and then the wait began for her to come back and take our cards. Another 15 minutes, at least. Then at least another ten minutes until she came back with the cards. Two people in our party never even got correct bills, even after asking multiple times for them to be fixed. One person actually left extra cash to cover his bill, even though he was overcharged. So, way to make some extra money, I guess? To top it all off, the place wasn't even busy. On a Friday night, their parking lot wasn't even half full. That should tell you everything you need to know. Service was awful since we walked into the door. The person at the front looked lost, like she never been in the building. Next we sat down to eat, my family of 11. I understand some large parties may affect wait times for food, but 2 hours is unacceptable. My family waited for 2 hours for the food just for it to be brought out completely wrong. This review is purely about the dining experience. The arcade was part was clean and had minimal games out of order. I went today with my 4 year old. After gaming, we went to dining area. It was early afternoon on Veteran's Day - not very busy. Maybe 6-7 tables occupied. We were sat promptly... and there we sat. 15-20 minutes go by and nobody ever came to our table. Nearly impossible to flag down an employee to ask what was happening - as they never came to my area. Oh! Except the manager, who was attending to the upset gentleman behind me who stated that this was, "the worst experience I've ever had." Thankfully my son was a trooper - but we left to get him some food. If you are having trouble with staffing issues, maybe close down a portion of the dining area so, that, you know, patrons can be seen. read more

Went for a Christmas party get together with friends; had reserved a table (for 14.) We were assigned only one waitress. Service wasn't slow, it was a crawl. The waitress took initial drink orders and then disappeared for 20 minutes, even though the place was empty. The solitary bartender was more interested in washing glasses than filling the order. Kitchen cooking staff wandered out eating food walking around the bar. The food was mediocre to say the least. The service killed the experience. We waited for close to an hour for food, and one of our party never received their meal. If you want to play games, there were plenty, but don't go for food and drink. (Post Script) The management responded, not to dispute my review, but to direct me to leave my complaints on line. I did so. For the record, this is a MANAGEMENT problem, not so much a staff problem. I made a reservation multiple days in advance. I walked in @ 12:30 for a 1pm nba playoff tipoff. In my reservation I specifically asked for seating close to 40 foot TVs. Upon arrival was told those seats were "unavailable". The attached photo was taken @ 1:35, OVER 1 HOUR AFTER MY INITIAL RESERVATION/REQUEST. My party of 4 was originally placed in some weird middle table, 30+ feet from where we originally asked to be seated. The seats were close fitting, 15+ feet from any available tv, and the music pumping in the bar/arcade side was DEAFINING! We immediately moved to the bar and sat 4 wide. We were informed they had 0, zero, domestic draft beer available at this time, sold out. No new deliveries were coming, can/bottle only. We ordered food, and were told no burger sliders available. They were sold out @ 12:30 pm. Stay FAR FAR away from the flatbread. It was a doughy, saucy mess that slid apart upon picking it up. It was the furthest thing from a flatbread possible. We ordered fries and they were brought to us cold...COLD!. The nachos looked like they were thrown together with whatever ingredients were just simply laying around, not even remotely close to the pictures. I cannot emphasize just how poor the food was. Even with a 50% off food offer, the food was not worth any form of currency. The dining portion was very disappointing. If I ever return it will be more of an adult beverage option. People who don't mind sitting in a very noisy, music filled environment on the bar side will find the tv options very appealing. This establishment has A LOT of growing pains to work through. For example, to change the tv for us the manager said he said he would take care of it... 20 minutes later we had to remind the waitress please to change the channel for us . As the novelty of a new establishment wears off, I hope D & B settles into the potential it possesses as a family/sports bar destination. But, right now it has failed miserably. read more

I am basically reviewing the wonderful srevice I get from Tabby every time I go to DB. She is always smiling, and remembers my usual order. It really makes my day to have her look at me, and in a pleasant tone just ask if I want my usual. In addition the Tres margharta is wonderful! I am so glad she remembers because for some reason I can never remember its full name. Well I will start with the looks. It was clean and very well organized. Did not find any isses and parking was no issues. We arrived and sat down at both by the person. Next was drinks and food. No issues we loved the food and our server was great. If I am not mistaken I hope I got her name write it was Nichole. She had our drinks out with no issues, food was great and presented very well and we loved the presentation. Just to explain we do go to other Dave and Busters. So we liked the plating better at this Dave and Busters. We are also a D and B Rewards Member. I did after we paid talk to the manager maybe I mixing up names so do not remember her name but started with how happy we were. I wanted them to know it as most times people ask for manager to complain and that was not our issue. We played a while before we headed back to our hotel almost right across the street. Me and my boyfriend went there about a week ago and had an absolutely horrendous experience. i had no intention on leaving a review until yesterday the bartender CHRIS showed their true colors at my own place of employment. we went on a sunday and decided to sit at the bar as i am newly 21 and finally could sit at a bar. we sat down there were no more than eight people at the bar total. we waited for 10 minutes no menus or anything completely ignored by the bartender as she saw us and never came over. she then proceeded to print various receipts and help a man with a togo order calling him by his first name still ignoring us. finally when she came over in a very rude tone goes "i need to see some IDs." understandable we both look young. we show her our IDs and again in a rude manner says "so what do you want to drink?" i ask to see a drink menu she reluctantly hands me one and walks away for another ten minutes. i decide to get a blackberry margarita and my boyfriend got a miller lite. we were right next to the beer taps so she poured his beer and walked away. i assumed she was going to the service well to make my drink but i was wrong. 20 minutes later she strolls back over sees i still have no drink and says "oh shit what did you want". at this point i'm angry and said "a blackberry margarita" she goes and makes it and hands it to me. i drink it and it tasted absolutely awful like straight liquor. i have my boyfriend try it and he agrees it's over poured. i decide to just not drink it and get a water. we finally get food menus and as we go to order she says to me "oh by the way to make up for forgetting your drink i just made you a double" i said i didn't want a double. she then just now apologizes and says "well i've never rlly had someone complain about getting a double so" i said well i didn't order one. we put our order in and reluctantly remade my drink. the food was okay. i ordered boneless wings with ranch and received bone in wings with blue cheese. i didn't even say anything as i was already so frustrated with our experience i just ate them. we paid our bill and left to play games but the entire experience was awful. i work in the industry so i completely understand that things happen sometimes you may forget a drink and food may come out wrong but it's how you fix it that makes the experience. we will never go there again and can't even blame it on well they're new because it had been over a month since they opened. those sort of things aren't issues with a new restaurant they are issues with the staff hired. read more

I gave 1 star because the kids had fun playing games. As far as the food and drinks, management should be ashamed of themselves. A brand new place and they have had more than half of the draft beers not in stock. The bottled and canned drinks were warmer than the food. After we told our server they were warm, she brought a cup of ice and a chilled, not frosted, glass for my beer. The warm beer defrosted the glass once I poured it in. She also said they just stocked the cooler. I guess they weren't taught how to rotate stock. My second beer was warmer than the first. Told her the food was cold, and she did nothing. Nothing was replaced or comped. I will never go back. I would advise people with kids that want to play the games, is to take them inside to the games and go next door to Food and Fire. That place is really good. They offer cold drinks and hot food. read more

I've visited this location three times. the first two I ordered the steak meal. The steak was overcooked both times and I had to send it back and wait for it to be corrected. Tonight I tried the chicken parm and I would have preferred a frozen banquet chicken parm meal. The chicken was burnt, the 'marinara' tasted like tomato soup, and the 'bruchetta' on top was just raw tomatoes and raw onions... I have never been one to complain about my food but everytime I've been here my meals have been a big disappointment. The meal was comped, but as it is my THIRD time having a bad experience I feel there must be an issue within the kitchen. read more
