My savings account was hacked by unknown person(s). 33 withdrawals were made over 10 days, taking $7,000. DATCU never informed me this was happening and I only discovered by chance after the fact. They made no effort to assist me to investigate this fraud and offered no reimbursement. I have been informed by credit cards and banks in the past when fraud was suspected, but heard nothing from DATCU. I have taken my money out, of course. Beware if you use them. read more

DATCU BREACH Failed security at DATCU; Hackers with last name of Pickle(? ) stole $7000 from our savings with 33 withdrawals in 9 days through Zelle, which we do not use. DATCU says our personal info was used, but we never gave our passwords to anyone. DATCU sent copies of emails they say they sent us, but we NEVER RECEIVED emails from them. Possibly a glitch, enabling the thieves to divert emails? Plus emails are not the most reliable way to communicate such important info. DATCU also sent copies of texts that they sent us, but the texts did not state that withdrawals were happening; rather the texts said to not share our passwords. Since we do not do that, the texts did not raise suspicions on our part. Because of the 33 withdrawals over 9 days, all but emptying that savings account by someone with the name of Pickle, we feel Security should have made a phone call to us. Several friends who work in admin positions in banks have said we should have received a phone call! No concern was shown to us through the fraud dept, and they don't allow the customers to make an appt to speak with anyone. They say this was " investigated ", and we are told that our $7000 will not be replaced. read more

This place would rather rip you off then help you. I had a loan with them due to my timing the payoff was sent by my refinanced credit union a day to soon. They owed me over 170 dollars. I had to wait 2 weeks to get this money in a check. Then never received the check 2 weeks after that. They said I have to go into a branch office which is somewhat far from my house to sign an affidavit of loss then change me 32 dollars on a stop pay for a check I never received like that's my fault. This was done then they call me today saying I have a negative balance. They took 2 charges of 32 dollars now have a negative balance of -64 dollars. They then claim the dates on the affidavit was not correct and would have to redo it. So go ahead and keep my fuckin money because dealing with you assholes is not worth it to me. Like that's my damn fault or whatever and no I'm not driving to Flower Mound that's an hour away again so suck it. read more

Been with them for 31 years. They were really good when they wanted to be a small, personal credit union. Now there's nothing personal, you just feel like a number. Hard to get checks to clear without holds, even when you have way more than enough to cover them. Even held a cashiers check for 3 days from Chase and wouldnt call to verify. No direct contact with loan department. Just another bank feeling. No thanks. Point Bank and Ciera Bank is where its at!! read more

AWFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE. I've been with DATCU for decades and have financed several vehicle loans and personal loans there. I recently applied for a credit card and was denied by text message. The decision is their's to make and that is not my issue, it was the very impersonal method that I was informed. I have always appreciated DATCU's personal customer service but apparently that aspect is no longer important. Well I guess I should have read the other bad reviews on this place before taking out a car loan with them. For 4 years I over paid my loan a 100$ at a time and never and unless you tell them to apply it to the loan they think oh your giving us extra money and we only let you pay something stupid like 200& extra on a loan then I called not to long ago and asked them for a payoff number. They magically lost my car loan info and I had to wait 25 mins while they found it after saying great I don't owe you anything since you can't find an account. Finally I got a pay off amount and mailed them a check 15 days before it was due and then nothing I called back today and it's oh we just got the payment and have not cashed it yet but there's a intest payment now. Mined you it was paid over 2 weeks ago and I paid them extra just in case they pulled that crap.. go someplace else that actually values you over your money read more

I have had an account with DATCU for years & didn't have any issues. I decided in 2022 to refinance my house. I checked around asked friends & did research. I decided to go with DATCU because I had heard good things & when I research them I found good things. One of the questions I had for my loan officer was is it okay to be ahead one to two months on my monthly payments? She told me yes that would not be a problem. Well that was the first lie. I did not notice till June of 2024 that two of my payments went into my principal without my consent. When I called about it they reversed one right away. They said it would take some time but they needed to figure out how to do the other that happened in November of 2022. She told me from now on I needed to make my payments on or after the first of the month not before. She also told me I can only be ahead by one payment. I told her what I was told by the loan officer when I refinanced my house. She apologized & said that wasn't correct. I do this just in case I have an emergency and something breaks or we have another pandemic. She agreed that was a great idea. Well it happen again! I called and talked to someone about it & they fixed it. I ask why it happened again &she said that I have to wait till the 5th or after to make an extra payment or it will go to principal. So I was mad because I keep getting told different things. Not only that I have now been lied to four times. First I was told I could make multiple monthly payments to be ahead, second I was told it needed to be on or after the first & only one payment ahead. Third I was told they were going to fix the payment that was put in the principal in 2022 and they never did. And fourth now it needs to be done on or after the fifth of the month & they can not fix the payment I made in 2022. When I make a monthly payment they do not have the right to do what they want with my money. If they are not able to put it in as a monthly payment then they should ask you where you want it to go. Not do what they want to do! This is my money not there's and they do not have the right to decide what to do with my money when I made a monthly payment! read more

Honestly, this BANK used to be really good. They had a few branches. My mother's had an account there since the 90s. I've only had an account there since 2019 but within the last year and a half since they've done all this expanding and getting bigger great for them, but their customer service has gotten horrible. The fraud text messages don't work because you reply back yes or no, and they say unable to accept your response there system is always doing maintenance after 10 PM and since I live out of state two hours behind that really messes me over I've had my debit card removed from my account twice And had to call and have it put back on and the reason they gave me was not sufficient I've also had them tell me that my checking account did not have my Social Security number attached to it even though they got that information when I opened my account the Zelle feature doesn't always work And really the only reason why I stay with them is because I have a credit card with them with a good interest rate that's about it maybe instead of trying to grow so fast you focus more on your community because you're a credit union not a big bank. and last but not least if they're going to be expanding and getting bigger, they should have a 24 hour customer service line because when I'm at the store on a Sunday on my lunch break to go into my app to unlock my debit card and find out that my debit card is not in my app and all my money is in my bank account so thank you for that too. You really made my lunch great actually made my whole Sunday. Great because I couldn't get it fixed until today, Monday. read more

Went to Datcu branch on University today to do my banking, deposit check! I had the rudest teller I've ever seen at a Datcu. I usually do my banking at the loop 288 branch but also had to do some shopping on university so I stopped at this branch instead, won't make that mistake again Teller 0750 needs to get a job at the prison-very rude and snooty! I can tell you if this trend continues with Datcu, I will be a new member at another financial institutions. Oh, I've been with them 20 years! I'll admit I'm terrible at keeping track of my banking account balance. So I made sure to open an account that would not allow me to overdraft if I had insufficient funds. Couple years later I opened a saving account, which then changed my original account to be open for overdraft. Didn't pull the money from my savings no, just charged me a $35 fee if I auto payed a bill and there wasn't enough in my checking. Even if my saving would've covered it. I've paid thousands of dollars in overdraft fees to this bank. Seriously. If I had an auto payment go out that I was short for even $5, the autopay would ping my account several times resulting in 6-8 overdraft fees in one day for one bill. And no, they are not going to work with you. They will hit you with -$280 every time it happens and say there's nothing they can do. Goodbye DATCU, eat a ****. read more

They have always been friendly and easy to work with. They had the best rate for my auto loan when I comparison shopped. I especially like that they have the kids savings accounts with no fees and no minimum. At one time I took out a loan with a huge national bank, went to the local branch so I could pay extra on the loan, BofA told me they could not accept extra payments for a car loan. I have been banking with DATCU for over 30 years and have always loved them. That has certainly changed over the past couple of years. They have started the practice of "stealing" our monies! Charging over-draft fees by processing payments before deposits even if they are on the same day and you end with a positive account balance. "Addie at the "headquarters" should not be in customer service and is totally inept. She says they can only "waive" this fee (or theft) once per lifetime of the account. She then made sure to let me know that she was at the headquarters and no members were allowed in. REALLY??? 30 years of doing business and my account is positive at the end of the day you are still going to steal an over-draft fee and refuse to accommodate. Well, after 30 years I deserve better treatment than that. I will be closing all my accounts by weeks end. BEWARE!!!! They will steal from you what they can..... DISGUSTING!! And I'm not alone. I love this credit union! My employees and I have used them for years. They offer better rates on loans and offer great service!

They will run game on your account for real. They should just charge a monthly fee. They are always trying to get you to buy stuff you don't really want. Such as car insurance, renters insurance, life insurance, etc. Plus if you get direct deposit GUARD your money with your life. You almost need to transfer it to another account and pay your bills from the account that doesn't really charge you much because DATCU has EXTREMELY long hold times on debit/credit and say you have money in your account to cover they will sometimes act like there was hold on money and cause you to have $39 fees. This is NOT good. If you have one item go thru it's kool BUT if you went out to eat, paid utility, cable, car payment, car insurance. THAT is too many items UNDERSTAND even if you have money their system will default and HOLD items and they will figure out how to get you to pay them some BIG FEES. Especially if it's Jan. Dec or Nov. This is how they make their extra money. So I learned the hard way and I always know how much money i have to the tea and I generally take it out from this account but from now on I will transfer to another account where they don't charge high fees and pay my bills that way where once I pay it .. then there it's paid and I see my balance because DATCU is really worthless and I can't understand why they are still in business. JUst charge people a fee and stop trying to SCAM.. They are SCAMMERS.. CD;s pay no money. NO wire transfers. YOu can't get currency if you need to travel. If you go too far like to Okl they will lock your account. You have to be IN STATE. They put hold times anytime you buy anything and I don't understand if you have the money deduct and show balance.
