I clearly told them I would buy all the parts myself, including the lower ball joints, oil, and oil filter, and I did. I was only paying for labor. When I arrived, the price was changed and I was told it would be $250, even though that was not what we agreed on. I understand prices can go up or down, but once a price is agreed on, especially after I canceled a different auto body shop, it should be honored. I also have an audio record of the original conversation. The person who did my oil change was very nice and professional, and I appreciate that. However, changing the price after an agreement was disappointing. I came here based on good reviews and recommendations. Keeping your word matters if you want returning customers.

I kind of wonder if the previous location pulled one on me by saying I needed something when I might not of, but I didn't need to worry about that here. They did mention something about leaking transmission fluid, but when my mechanic checked it out, there wasn't anything wrong, but at least the employees here didn't try to be aggressive in having me take care of something at that moment (and I honestly don't know crap about cars so I don't even know if that is something they would even handle). The wait was a little longer since there were a decent amount of cars in line, and now I can see why. Next time around was with a primarily female staff, and they were a little more insistent on letting me know what needs to be addressed, which I should have made more clear that they didn't need to do so. I just want the oil changed. Overall, this is a decent Valvoline with a cool staff.

They took the time to explain things to me, make sure I understood what was happening, and genuinely cared about getting my vehicle safe and reliable again. After everything I've dealt with, I finally feel a sense of peace and confidence when I'm on the road and that is priceless. It's not easy finding a shop you can truly trust, but I am incredibly grateful that I found West Adams Radiator. Pretty sure I just got gaslighted…read more I brought my 2019 Honda HR-V here for a simple oil change last week, and within a week, part of my splash guard was hanging off. I brought the car back today because I'm fairly certain the panel was not fastened properly after the oil change. This has actually happened to me before at a Honda dealership about two years ago. The same splash guard started hanging within a week of an oil change, and the dealership repaired it. So I don't think it's a coincidence that the same thing happened again shortly after having my oil changed. I originally wanted to give this place a shot because they have so many good reviews. The oil change itself was very efficient, probably the most efficient oil change I've ever had, and everyone I interacted with was nice. Unfortunately, that efficiency may have come at the expense of properly securing the splash guard. When I brought the car back today, I was told that the panel came loose because I must have "hit a bump," and that they don't need to open or remove the panel to access the oil filter. I'm not a mechanic, so I don't claim to know more about cars than they do. However, everything I've found regarding the 2019 Honda HR-V indicates that the lower engine splash shield/undercover panel needs to be loosened or removed to access the oil filter and drain plug during an oil change. Given the timing and the fact that this happened previously after an oil change, I would have appreciated at least having the undercarriage inspected before being told it was unrelated. What was most frustrating is that they didn't take responsibility or even inspect the underside of the car to see what damage may have occurred from me driving with the panel hanging down. I was essentially sent on my way and told to find a body shop to fix it myself. I understand that things can happen during service, but I would have appreciated honesty and an effort to actually investigate the issue rather than immediately attributing it to me hitting a bump. For now, I've had to secure the panel myself with some small zip ties (pictured) just to keep it from dragging until I can find somewhere to repair it.

The next day, they called me saying they fixed the radiator, but there was an internal leaking issue that the mechanic couldn't figure out and that I should immediately go trade in the car before the engine fails. He gave me zero plausible or any technical explanation for what the origin of the issue was and added another 100 dollars to my service fee. I decided to take my car to a mechanic who is more accustomed to dealing with Subarus with the incredibly vague explanation I received from the mechanic rather than go sell or trade in the car because one person told me he can't fix it. The next day, I received an actual explanation of what the issue was, which was a cross contamination issue with the coolant and engine oil that can happen with the specific engine that Subarus are equipped with and he was able to give me an actual quote to fix the issue rather than telling me to trade in or sell the car. Furthermore, he said that changing the radiator should have only cost me a couple hundred dollars max and that the issue with the engine could have been prevented if I went to an experienced mechanic in the first place! I was overcharged by more than double the actual price of parts and service and literally told to go trade in the car after paying $880 dollars, which I had to haggle down from $900 after the price increased overnight. Please don't come here for any repairs as they are not qualified to provide proper service, yet will overcharge you without any agreement. The mechanic also demanded cash only or he would charge me even more with a credit card, which was extremely inconsiderate of the customer's financial situation in a tough economy.
