There were three service lanes, and the staff directed me into one behind a car already being serviced. I waited and waited while cars in the other lanes were serviced and left--including a car that arrived after me. When I finally spoke up, an employee apologized and explained that the car ahead of me needed a part they had to order, which had just arrived. If they knew that car was delayed, why direct me into that lane without explaining the situation? Instead, I spent an hour and a half watching other customers come and go. I also wanted to speak with a manager, but none was available. To make matters worse, they forgot to mark when my next oil change is due. Nothing to even do with "supposed" oil leaks. Note - some of these same services had been done less than 60 days. Final effort to just get battery replaced - after many attempted calls and texts. Eventually, they quoted $195 labor (on a $200 battery). Outrageous! When told to do nothing, we will pick up car. They then tried to charge a $275 diagnostic fee. Never discussed or authorized. Found this place because under CarMax warranty - as they are RepairPal provider. This was such a bad experience, pursuing complaints with Bureau of Automative Repair, RepairPal, CarMax. NEXT DAY UPDATE... - Car was taken today to a reputable mechanic and new battery purchased and installed for $250. - There was never an oil leak reported - and none exists, as today's mechanic confirmed. - why would Carotech quote $195 labor to install a battery? My parents have also used West Coast a bunch of times. My car was having some pretty severe issues. I didn't need an appointment to come in, the car was fixed by the next day (we could have got it back the same day if we wanted, but we let them keep it overnight for some extra testing) They didn't try to upsell us at all. They mentioned a few things that they noticed needed done and when we said not now..they didn't push. And these were things that would be obvious with the work they were doing..they didn't go out of their way to pull out air filters or check unrelated things we didn't ask them to, like Subaru did. Everyone was super polite, professional, friendly, and very quick to answer whenever we called. We were in and out quickly for both drop off and pick up. It was extremely pricey, but what isn't these days. But also, I did have a lot of broken stuff. I am no longer allowed to drive it like it's stolen.

Greg then texted me asking me to confirm that I already had the tires before he could give me pricing. I responded right away, gave him the tire information, explained exactly what I needed, and also asked about an alignment. Hours went by and once again, no response. At this point, it just feels like I'm wasting my time trying to give them my business. I previously had an issue where my wheel valves were scratched during service, although, to their credit, they did replace the damaged one. Ever since that situation, though, the communication and service toward me have felt different. I can't say for sure if that has anything to do with it, but if a shop doesn't want my business, I'd rather they tell me instead of leaving me hanging. After being ignored by two different employees while simply trying to purchase tires and schedule service, I won't be returning, and I can't recommend them to my friends or other car enthusiasts that I know. I understand technical issues can happen, but that still doesn't explain my entire experience. I contacted Tom before this outage and after I clarified that I wanted the RE-71RS, I never received another response. Then when I scheduled through the website, Greg reached out to me directly asking for information and I replied immediately. They told me that I had to replace the pump and the rack & pinion because they claimed that's where the leak was. It would've cost me $2400. I took my car to another mechanic my friend recommended to get a second opinion. It turns out, the leak was happening at the hoses and I only needed to replace that! I was so glad I took it to another mechanic. These guys at AutoMed are liars and crooks. They insisted it was the pump and rack & pinion when it was the hose that needed replacing. Never going to them again. It surprises me how these guys managed to get over 4 star rating.

Again it took twice as long as they told me, and when I picked up my car I was told the alignment was fine - yet they still charged me the extra $100 for an "alignment check." When I questioned it, they said, "It's a good thing, you want us to check alignment." So apparently they charge $100 just to confirm nothing needed to be done. Between the lack of communication, inconsistent pricing, and shady billing practices, I cannot recommend this shop to anyone. I will not be giving them another chance.
