It took him literally 2 seconds. I was skeptical at first. It was a Saturday and the girl said Wednesday. I returned Wednesday to get the pants, same girl took care of me. Quick in and out. I honestly don't know if they're inexperienced or just have never worked with a Black woman's curves before, but not one, not two, but three of my dresses were completely botched. I also had a top altered and it came back lopsided. After the first round of alterations, the owner tried to gaslight me, saying they had only adjusted the strap for my burgundy dress (which was never the main issue). I initially asked for the sides to be taken in because the bust area was too big, but somehow, that got lost in translation. So I paid AGAIN, for all to be fixed and what I got back was even worse. Everything felt rushed, uneven, and downright sloppy. I bawled my eyes out because these dresses were meant for my birthday trip. The white dress? It was the most horrendous one, imagine the outline of Sarah Baartman on a modern-day garment. That's how distorted the shape was. Even after a third attempt, the seams were still crooked and the dress was unwearable. I'm now left dressless for my trip and out of money. If I could give this place zero stars, I would.

I've been going to main st formals ever since I was a little kid. I remember getting suits for…read moregraduations, confirmations, weddings, etc. throughout the years. This time I had a funeral to attend and because of location for everyone. I called another place in Fallriver . The gentleman that answered the phone seems overwhelmed that we needed 4 suits and he only had a day and a half to get them done. As I didn't want to take any chances we went to Main st. Formals we were greeted with a smile and with no delay the tape measures came out and we were trying on jackets. "Tomorrow morning they will be ready" he said. The next morning I arrived at 10am and everything was good to go. I tried on the outfit and the coat needed some extra tailoring was told it was a 10 min job. Sure enough in about 10 min we were walking out of their. One of the things that I was really impressed with is that our tie was already tied for us. Then, I met a gentleman who really stood out. He was absolutely amazing. I talked with him about 20 minutes about the suit I was interested in. After that, we ended up talking about movies for a little bit. He was really great. then it all went wrong. I told the man I was going to check out shirts. I grabbed the shirts I wanted and headed to the fitting room. There was an employee helping another with her shoes. She was in front of the hallway leading to the fitting room. I waited for her to stop talking and said "Excuse me, do you mind if I get through to the fitting room?" Her response was "Excuse me sir? I am with a customer right now." I replied with "No I understand I don't need any help, I just need to get by." She said "I'm with a customer! You need to wait your turn." I just simply said "Okay." and waited. She then tried to be all buddy-buddy with me asking if I needed any help with anything and being all respectful. Never have I been treated like this before. I felt completely disrespected and disgusted with this. I once again want to stress that everyone else was very nice, but she seriously tarnished the way I feel about this establishment. I will never go back if she is there. I was treated better at Macy's than here, which is a shame because they have really nice prices, a wonderful selection, and majority of the employees were very nice. I however cannot get over how rude this women was to me. Even if I was the other customer who she was helping I would never return just because of the way she treated another customer. This is absolutely absurd. I wish there were other options for me out there to purchase formal wear, but it is difficult. I am going to have to call before hand to see if this women is there before I ever go back again. Avoid this place at ALL costs…read more I wish I could remember the name of the representative that was assisting with our wedding party with their fitting. You would think he was planning his own wedding, as he didn't take into account ANYTHING we wanted. We went in having a vision, and knew what we wanted for our groomsmen. The only thing we weren't 100% on was how we can utilize the color scheme to have my fiancé contrast the others without looking tacky. By the time I left and come back to check on them we went from a sleek black and red look to white and black paisley!? It was atrocious, and he kept trying to sweet talk us into designs that he thought would be best, that did not fit the vibe of our wedding at all. I was politely vocal about not being into the styles, and he dismissed me, and said I am too laid back so I don't really know what I am talking about. We had women who were being fitted for suits. The (same) person measuring them made them incredibly uncomfortable, and repeatedly pointed out the fact that they had female anatomy that was making the process "difficult" for him. In the end my fiancé did not purchase a suit here for this reason. Not to mention, in the end after all the upselling and "must haves" - a pretty basic custom suit somehow was going to run us nearly $3,000 for something that would only be worn once. I would never see myself paying this at a chain retailer- especially for a suit that was almost the opposite of what we wanted. Needless to say we chose to receive a refund and take our business elsewhere for those that were fitted for suits that day.
