I was looking at a Miata, they didn't disclose it was a salvage title, say it is perfect condition, no damage that "needs nothing. Pre purchase inspection states multiple body damage, rotor and brake pad were so thin that the shop doesn't recommend me driving it home. The engine was also knocking/ticking loudly when cold and warm (timing chain). They will happily sell you an overpriced deathtrap and lie to your face about it. On January 31, 2025, we purchased a car from the dealership Darts Motors. At first, everything seemed fine, but just three months later, a serious issue appeared -- an error related to the oil level or pressure. This problem has been recurring approximately every two weeks, which raises serious concerns about the vehicle's technical condition. We contacted the service center, but received no clear explanation or effective solution. It feels like once the sale is complete, the customer is forgotten and no one takes responsibility for the condition of the vehicle sold. I do not recommend this car dealer. This is my personal opinion. At first, they sent me a text with a price of $14,000. After I agreed to the credit check and was approved, they asked me for a $250 down payment. Then I received an invoice showing $18,000. When I asked where these numbers came from, they told me the price had included an EV rebate -- something that was never mentioned before. As a result, I refused to buy the car. In conclusion, I believe I was misled about the price and ended up with a hard credit check for nothing. I have all the supporting materials and I am preparing a complaint to the Illinois Attorney General - Consumer Protection Division. read more

Always Get a pre purchase inspection and check the Carfax on Any vehicle you intend to buy from this dealer. Nearly bought a 2023 FJ cruiser that dart got from an auction. Sold me a 2013 bmw 550 with bad valve stem seals, white smoke on acceleration after idle. Will need thousands of dollars of work to fix, which is outside their "warranty" they offer. Missing parts on the engine, coolant and engine oil leaks on the top all over. Owner is shady, would stay away from this place! Do not buy your car here, no matter how good of a deal it is. DO NOT BUY A CAR AT DART MOTORS -- GABE IS A SCAMMER My girlfriend & I bought an $11,799 car that needed $4,742.18 in repairs before we even drove it off the lot. Look at the negative reviews on Google--you'll see that there are at least 4 other people who had the same experience & took the time to write about it. DON'T LET GABE PRESSURE YOU INTO POSTING A POSITIVE REVIEW Gabe said in writing prior to putting a deposit down that "everything works as it should," that their mechanics had performed a "50 point inspection," checked "all components of the motor," & that it was "100% good to go." NONE OF THOSE THINGS proved to be true. Not even true that they'd "fully detail[ed] the car." It was dirty & we had to insist that they wash it & clean the interior before we took it. The car was throwing two codes (which took our mechanic almost no time to find), both for misfiring cylinders. Turns out there was an excessive carbon build up on the intake valves (likely from years of driving it using regular gas in a turbocharged engine) & that the timing chain needed to be replaced (it's 4.9 degrees different), both integral parts of the engine. How did Gabe's "master mechanics" he praised so highly not know about the misfiring cylinders from a long period of poor maintenance & misuse? The car's sitting unused for what will be 2 & 1/2 weeks before we can get it fixed at a reputable shop. Gabe scammed us into not getting it inspected before buying by offering a 3-month, 3,000 mile warranty. I asked him to make the car available for an inspection & he refused, offering the warranty, insisting that it had been fully inspected & was in good condition. Gabe's scam here was repeating that the car was so thoroughly inspected & in such good condition that he wouldn't offer the warranty or the deal ship would be losing money. The warranty is a scam. It only covers up to $2,500 in repairs, with a $250 deductible, & the repairs must be done by them--which, obviously, I would hesitate to agree to based on how many times Gabe already lied to us. Plus, IF YOU LIVE FAR FROM MCHENRY, you have to get an inoperable car back to the dealership. That would've cost us at least $900 by itself. Gabe agreed--before I put down a deposit--that we could get the car serviced near us (405 miles from McHenry), if necessary. Once the true condition of the vehicle was revealed, he & a young woman named Anastasiia Novytska (The owner, I guess? She's the manager of the LLC.) refused, essentially making the warranty worthless. Gabe was rude. On the phone, he'd tell me to hold in the middle of a sentence so he could answer another phone or talk to someone in the shop. He rushed us through the paperwork at closing & we still haven't received the title (we bought it on 3/16). Overall, we felt gross leaving the dealership. In retrospect, I think it was because we both felt like we had been scammed but had no idea how badly. Honestly, the feel of the shop itself is a bit scammy. Basically empty & in need of a remodel. The dealership seems like a scam the closer you look into it. The only people we've been able to talk to are Gabe & Anastasiia. I guess she's a real estate agent renting somewhat sad-looking apartments, as well as the owner of a trucking company that ships cars & who knows what else. The only registered addresses for the business beyond the dealership are two single-family homes. Weird, needless to say. We tried to negotiate with Gabe & Anastasiia. We only asked that they pay for the $4.7k or so in repairs & that they be done near us so we could get it towed there at a reasonable cost. They flat out refused to give at all. They insisted that it only be serviced at their shop & that they wouldn't pay to have the car shipped to them. Bc of the clear lies Gabe told us, & the deceitful practice of discouraging a pre-purchase inspection & offering a basically useless warranty, we have filed a complaint with the IL Attorney General for fraud & unfair business practices. We are preparing our lawsuit now for fraud, false promises, misrepresentation, & the concealment, misrepresentation, suppression & omission of material fact(s) under 815 ILCS 502/2. read more

Do not buy from this dealership I brought a used 2010 Bentley Continental Coupe March 2024 I barely drove the vehicle a few times there was oil leaking and when I drove and pressed down to the floor for acceleration. Took it back this is their response: Hello Valencia, I wanted to text you to let you know what the shop said, They recommended replacing the spark plugs and coils on the car. The other gasket issue while it is not under warranty we would cover $500 of that repair. the total is 3466.61 with all the spark plugs and coils and gasket replaced. minus the $500 would be 2966.61 I was not able to fully communicate what they said when we spoke on the phone. They brought this vehicle from an auction bandage the gasket and coil issue to sell it and now they want me to pay for an existing repair. Buyer, please beware...I initially gave this dealership a 5 start review, but that's never accurate when purchasing a used car. How they treat you after that should matter as well. I bought a Volvo xc90 and within a few trips to and from the grocery store, I noticed some issues. It was rattling loud, and I found out that it needed a new supercharger! I asked Dart if I purchased the supercharger form Volvo, would they install it for me. I was told that it would take them longer to get the parts needed and would cost the same as Volvo. That cost $3800. THEN, I noticed that the low oil light indicator kept coming on, and I kept filling it (but I had only driven the car about 300 miles when it started). It turns out that this model had an oil consumption issue, and the pistons needed to be replaced. Volvo charged $11,300 for this repair. This was in the first 7 months of owning this car. Needless to say, this purchase was devastating!! read more

These people are FRAUD!. When we agreed to buy the car, before selling it they promised to change the rotors, pads, make alignment, change the wheels. They also asked for a downpayment of $3,500. The price of the car is 12,000. In the end, I gave 3,500 and they took it for themselves, because... I still have to pay the same as it was: 12,000 instead of 8,500. When I asked where did the 3,500 go? They said that was the price of the warranty. Which I didn't ask for and I absolutely didn't need. Then it turned out that the alignment was not done, I came again, they did it. And now it turns out that the rear brakes and rotors have not been changed. I came to find out, to which they told me that they don't know anything and don't remember that they promised to do them and there's nothing in written form anywhere.
