I have been a member at darque tan for quite some time now and it truly boggles my mind that the salons are rated lowly. First of all I have tanned all over and let me tell you the quality of the equipment, products offered, cleanliness, and friendliness of staff at darque tan is impeccable. Today I was at the revere location and the girl who was working was just lovely. I was really impressed with her selling ability without being too "salesy." I felt like I was having a conversation with a friend. I also frequently go to the Huntington location where I feel the same way about the girls who work there. I am in my mid twenties and I don't like tanning too too much, darque tan also offers the best options for sunless tanning that I use more now than tanning beds these days. They also have really awesome specials and promotions. Those who have rated this salon poorly are ignorant to what they are doing and don't understand what/how to go tanning. read more

Just got a spray tan here and had a great experience. My last attempt at spray tanning at a different business was a disaster, so I was nervous about going again. The asst manager working at the front desk was super helpful with making recommendations about the best level for me, and answered all of my questions about using the machine. The place is clean and the spray tan machine is easy to use. It talks and tells you when to turn - which I appreciated as a newbie (my last attempt I didn't know when to turn so only half of my body was sprayed.. Lovely). Plenty of towels and cardboard cutouts to stand on and protect your feet. Since it was my first time here it was only $10 - great deal. read more

I've been to all of the Darque Tans in Boston area and this one is my favorite. Convenient to get to, parking, never a wait for the beds. They don't try to upsell me, bulbs are always strong and rooms/beds are clean. As of this week all radios are working. Great place to go when you're trying to escape the SADs of winter. read more

I have been going here off and on for the last 4-5 years. ("Off" in the summer, "on" in the winter) Most of the radios/ipod docks in the rooms/bed don't work. that sucks. especially when you are laying there super relaxed for 12 minutes. I need my music. I have been in 5 different rooms there so far and the radio has only worked in one of them. It did not work in a level 4 bed! You would think they would at least for the best beds (levels 4&5) but nope. Not a fan. I am paying all this money to be relaxed and enjoy myself while tanning, FIX ALL OF YOUR RADIOS!!! I don't even care if they don't hook up to iPhone, although that would be nice, but we can't even listen to the radio! They won't even turn on! Come on.. At least let me listen to the radio!! UPDATE: paid extra money and tanned in a level 5 bed today.. NO RADIO!!.. I have tanned in 8 different rooms here- all levels 1 through 5, and have found only 2 working radios in the rooms!! FIX YOUR RADIOS. I cancelled my membership and when it comes time to join again in the fall/winter, darque tan will NOT be the place I choose. read more

I went to this location for the first time last week and I loved it! I dont like beds (they are totally unsafe) so I decided to take a chance with a Versa Spa spray tan the day before a friends wedding. I was totally nervous because my last spray tan attempt (like 10 years ago haha) went terribly wrong. But these booths have come a longggg was. It was great! The girl explained everything and made me feel good about my decision doing it so soon to my event. It was $10 for my first visit which made it even better to try. Four days later my color is starting to diminish but I think its totally worth it for a quick easy good tan. I will def go back. In the very near future because now Im obsessed :) read more

Do not recommend for a single visit... Almost $50! Ridiculous pricing. They would have way more business and not an empty parking lot if they actually made it affordable. I will never return. Better off going across the street to revere tan. Much better and pricing is less than half for the same bed! read more

WOW!! Lauren was a bright ray of sunshine as soon as I stepped in the door. Unlike the unprofessional staff at Revere tan (Where attempted to go first but passed after feeling like I walked into a dark cave), she greeted me, smiled and asked "How can I help you today?" Me being used to tanning and being a professional tanner I was expecting something like previous tanning salons that sucker you into over priced packages and dirty beds. This was not like that at all! Lauren gave me a tour and showed/explained why every bed was important to the tanning process. We discussed pricing and she let me choose what I wanted. I never at any point felt pressured or forced into anything that she was selling. Once we picked a package, she asked me about my lotion and I showed her my usual cheap tanning oil (It's what I like to use at the pool) but she said I couldn't take it in the bed! (Weird but I went with it) Once she explained why her lotions were better I couldn't say no. She gave me a great deal on some bottles that she said I can even use outside! (It's so cold here in Boston but we can look foreword to the summer) over all I felt like I was talking to an old friend who was just looking to make me tan. It's getting two stars because it's clean and decently nice inside. But the service and prices are awful. I've come here many times. Don't bother with the spray tan go to Hollywood for those- trust me! Now..... I just left this place I paid $18 for one visit. ONE. It came out of my account. I walk in and there's two people eating at the desk. Ok, I know you need Lunch but how about someone eats in the back while someone is out front? Like normal work places. Then the girl put me in the booth and says "you're all set" ok..... So I ask "how long did you put me in there for???" Since I have worked in tanning salons and you should probably ask..... She put me in for the full time. I haven't been here in a few weeks what if I didn't want the full time? Ok anyways I go in- a light bulb is out in the bed, I'm paying $18 remember??? And if they changed their bulbs like their supposed to one would never go out- it would be too new. Ok I'm done tanning, I go to use the bathroom..... It looks like someone got into a fight with the roll of toilet paper it's friggin all over the floor....... Don't bother to ask for help or if you have any questions or to tell you " have a nice day since you just paid $18"...... They're all out in the back smoking cigerettes at the same time. I signed up for Yelp specifically for this review, that's how upset I am with this place. I've been tanning in the booth here for about a year and a half but I'm on medication that dries my skin, and I have a concert, prom, and graduation coming up so I wanted to get spray tans. I've never had one done before so prior to me coming in I called and asked all about them. I went in and did the 3 for $40 deal since I had my concert, prom, and graduation. I was so excited..... Only for my tan to last me a whopping 17 hours. SEVENTEEN HOURS! WTF! So I called back and asked to speak with a manager because I want a free one or at least something, but the lady asked if she could be of assistance so I told her the situation. Long story short, she was extremely rude. First off, I told her my situation because she asked. She then basically said it was my fault!! Saying that I may have "low iron" and "everyone's skin type is different." She said I did the darkest possible, but the girl told me there was a bronzer which was the darkest (didn't do that). So if I didn't know what I had chosen, that would be very misleading. She asked me when my concert was and I said tonight and she immediately answered "oh no no no it would not matter anyway if you wanted a free one because you would not see anything by then." I asked twice after when the manager was going to be in and all she had to answer was "later." She said "well I can't authorize a free spray tan that's up to my manager and I don't know if she will give you one", like yes you b*tch that's why I asked to speak with one in the first place!!!!!
