Not only did she do a fantastic wedding day trial and get the makeup just like I wanted it, but on the day of the wedding, she made me look the most beautiful I've ever felt! She went up and above anything I could ever have expected. The night before the wedding, my mom had an unfortunate fall and got a horrible black eye. She was so embarrassed and felt ashamed to go to the wedding. But Heidi did my mom's makeup the next morning for the wedding, and you could not tell AT ALL that my mom had a black eye for the whole day! My mom and I were SO grateful! Heidi's amazing! I took Heidi's makeup class and went in not knowing anything about makeup application, so I didn't expect to walk out being a makeup artist. I mean, she's good, but not THAT good, haha. That being said, I was able to learn a thing or two, so I consider it a success! Heidi was really friendly. Nothing felt fake or forced, she was just there trying to teach a few girls some tips and tricks and really was a great hostess. I feel a lot more comfortable now experimenting with different looks and I finally know what to do with the mountain of makeup that I've inherited from my sisters :P read more

Took her makeup class through a Groupon. I had a fantastic time, she really knows her stuff. Gave me tips on bronzing, a smoky eye and finally made me understand how to use liquid eyeliner. I walked out of there with a lot of knowledge and feel it was money well spent. I would definitely book her if I needed my makeup done. Please note that the Groupon is not for a makeup application. the one hour class doesn't allow her enough time to apply to everyone and still teach. Bring your own makeup and be prepared to do your own (although she'll do one eye and show you how to do the other). Two women did not bring their own makeup in my class, I feel that their experience would have been vastly improved if they could have followed along with their own stuff. read more

I absolutely love Heidi both as a person and as an artist--she did my and my bridal party's hair and makeup for my December wedding last year. I had previously seen her work on another bride (my sister-in-law) and she made her look so classically elegant and stunningly flawless, that I knew I had to have her for my own wedding. She kindly offered to do my makeup for that same wedding and she immediately knew all the right shades to use for my face shape and skin type, so I knew I could trust her entirely. Heidi not only has a gentle hand when applying, but as a person, is also kind, funny, down to earth, attentive, and so personable (plus has a great taste in music)--you can't ask for more from a person who is inches from your face for long periods of time! Heidi is experienced, talented, and versatile, and that was made evident when she did my bridal party's makeup. She knew how to work with different ages, working on twenty-somethings all the way to the older women in the bridal party, and I chalk that up to her timeless technique. She listened to their preferences and made every woman that she worked on look gorgeous. I love how she gave each hairstyle and face a unique look that played up their features and yet when we were all together, the look and color palette were consistent. The quality I appreciate most in Heidi is her consummate professionalism. At the very last minute, I had a venue change in where we were to get ready the following morning and she handled that without a hitch--even though she had much further to travel, she arrived early and her calm, pleasant mood made it a perfect start to my wedding day! Throughout our experience together, she was so attentive to my needs--I wanted to play it safe all day with my look, but she came up with the great idea of starting me with a natural look during the day since the ceremony was in a church, and then punching it up and giving me more of an evening look for the reception. I loved that idea and it went off without a hitch. She mastered BOTH looks and found the time to do touch ups and make me feel beautiful the entire day and night. Looking back on my experience with Darling Devil's Makeup, I am so honored and happy that Heidi did my wedding hair and makeup; I wouldn't have it any other way. This lady rocks. I met Heidi a few months ago through my friend Tabitha. She was part of the E.N.U.F. Art Show that we put together to raise awareness, promote education and eliminate stigma for people living with HIV. Heidi was one of the vendors for the show. However this past weekend I had the pleasure of working side by side with her for a photo shoot for the same mutual friend. Heidi did her and makeup as well as retouches during the shoot. Her style is awesome and she has this sweet, sexy welcoming personality that i know everyone will love. Not to mention her studio is awesome. My sister and I purchased a Groupon for Heidi's makeup class because we wanted to learn how to properly apply makeup from start to finish. I didn't have many specific things that I wanted to learn, so I went to the class expecting a general makeup lesson. The space that we had to work with was very small and suffocating. It was so small that I had to sit with the wall air conditioner right behind me blowing at my back the entire time and with the sun reflecting in my mirror while it set. I already felt pretty cramped with just six students in the room + Heidi. That feeling got significantly worse when two more students walked in after my sister and I did. I think Heidi accidentally overbooked the class and did not want to get bad reviews so she just let the two students sit on folding chairs and hold personal mirrors. I think that was a bad idea though because we could not get up and walk around easily to get some wine and cheese or makeup from her box. I came into the class expecting to get our own mirrors and own basic set of makeup to practice on ourselves. While we did get our own mirrors, she only had her makeup kit that we could use. For people like me who had no idea we were supposed to bring our own makeup to the class, I wasted a lot of time waiting for people to finish using Heidi's products before I could practice on myself. I also had an allergic reaction to some makeup that I used probably because her makeup has been used by so many people already. The class lacked structure, and I had no idea what we were going to learn. I had asked her when I made the reservation if this was a general makeup tutorial or if we would be learning something specific, and she told me, "It's pretty general and whatever the consensus is what I try to focus on." It started off with some structure with us learning the basics about BB cream, foundation, eyebrows, and smoky and cat eyes. However, a few people started asking more specific questions, which took away from the experience. The class became disorganized and more about those certain people who had questions about their own looks. I also would have preferred if she had practiced techniques on everyone there. Instead, she focused on just one person who had probably the easiest facial structure to work on, but that didn't necessarily make it easier for the rest of us to learn since everyone has different facial structures. She went way over the one hour that it was supposed to take for the class, but that was because she wasted so much time answering specific questions. I think it would have worked out better if she answered those specific questions after the class instead of wasting everyone's time on something that would not be applicable to their own faces, especially since there were so many students. Overall, I was greatly disappointed with my first makeup class. While I did learn some basic makeup skills like how to apply blush properly and measure how far your eyebrows should go, I felt that it would have been more worth it for me to pay $50 at Sephora to learn how to apply makeup on my face, get it applied, and get some products. At least then it would have been personalized, and I would have gotten some products out of it. read more

I mentioned to her that when it was time for me to get married I would ask her to do my hair and makeup as well. When the time came, I asked her and hands down to her. I asked her for something natural and she knew exactly what I wanted. That day she made me feel beautiful in so many ways. Heidi just did my hair and make up for my wedding a few days ago...and I have 3 words.. I LOVE Heidi! Heidi is the best. #1 she's really easy to get along with. She makes you feel very comfortable to be around. #2 shes very accommodating. She can meet you at a location of your choice or you can meet her at her very, clean, neat, and organized apartment. She met me at my house at 5am in the morning!!! #3 my make up looked great. It was exactly what I wanted. At first though I was concerned it wouldn't last the entire day. However, Heidi assured me it would.... And it did. Through sweat and all! It stayed! #4 Heidi is affordable!! You'll look great on your wedding without breaking the bank. #5 Heidi does let you know, based on your hair type and etc, that your hair style may not turn out EXACTLY like the pictures you can bring so you can show her what you want. However, she will work with what you got and make it pretty damn close and still look awesome! In all honestly for my hair style, she actually did it much better than what I originally envisioned. I wanted a side bun action thing (it has a fancey weird name that Heidi taught me but I forgot what it was) I had moments when I thought it was too simple. But when Heidi did my hair it was more elegant and fancier than I had originally envisioned. Overall, Heidi made me look stunning on my wedding. Hair, make up, EVERYTHING!!! I'm very pleased that my sister found her and that we were able to book her. I'd definitely book her again if I needed a hair and make up person. read more

I highly recommend!! Darling Devil's Makeup captured just the look I was going for on my SPECIAL day. The wonderful Miss Heidi was very intuitive in bringing all aspects of my ideas to light.
