Finally, a haunted house with stellar set designs! We've had some okay-ish haunted houses in Reno but I was always put-off by the sets because they were low quality and too many scare-actors that they became predicable. Dark Corner put on by Junkee's has the visuals, the sounds, and scare factor. I loved it!! One thing most haunted houses under estimate is the fear of the unknown around the corner and this haunted house gave me that. There were just enough scare-actors to keep you on your toes and you couldn't predict where they were coming from...the eliminate of surprise! $25 a ticket may feel a bit pricey but it's well worth the quality of the performers and set.

Kingpin bowling alley is so rad. Open to public. No need for ticket. $5/ game

The sheer amount of work & detail that went into @darkcornerhaunt, Reno's biggest & hottest haunt, blows my mind. You'd think you were on a horror set in Hollywood. The haunt can be found in the national bowling stadium downtown and because of its huge size, Dark Corner was able to create the biggest haunt in Reno. Grab your peeps & put on your bravest face to take on Halloween spirit at its greatest, with Hollywood-like scenes loaded with details for days & scares lurking around every corner. I must admit that I don't scare easily with haunted houses in general (I think watching every single scary movie imaginable at a such a young age has something to do with this), but the reason why I'm in love with this haunt is because it was made by, what seems to be, passionate & dedicated individuals that aim to provide nothing but the best experience possible. Rest assured, they implore effective tactics and techniques in delivering quality scares. I appreciate how they've worked year round in improving their haunt... how they've doubled in size since last year. I'm in awe with their unreal props, along with their staff's costumes, acting skills, & fun spirits, & I applaud their courage in taking on such a big task of translating their Halloween visions to life. They also have a Kingpin bowling alley that adds another layer of fun. No ticket is necessary to play at this alley. Just line up and go through security and you'll be granted access to this Halloween themed bowling alley and bar. General admission is $25, while VIP is $50. If you want to skip the line, gain access to the most amazing vintage bar, & get a rad souvenier, VIP is the way to go & it's not even that much more. I must warn that they have limited quantities so be sure to secure them fast. Should you choose to go with general admission, make sure to bring good company for the wait. They provide characters & entertainment that make the wait fun. It's not common to find a haunt of this scale just anywhere. We are so lucky to have it here in Reno. Notes *separate line for vip *haunt was warm. I suggest to leave your thick jackets behind. *no touch haunt- you're not allowed to touch the actors & they're not allowed to touch you *exits everywhere just in case you can't handle the action. No refunds. *limited vip available *VIP worth every penny. Lounge must see. *entertainment provided while waiting in line for general admission *Visit Thursdays for smaller crowds *turn the corner to the right after passing the front of stadium to get to parking structure. $10 or park at eldorado/circus circus for free & walk 5-10 mins. *haunts take place on weekends (fri&sat), w/ select Thursdays, from end of Sept. all throughout October. *bowling alley is open to all. Go in without a ticket. full bar. $5/game. Fall in line. *everyone goes through metal detectors. No weapons *no recording/ photography at the haunt. Plenty of photo opportunities before and after the haunt *not everyone walks at the same pace. This may cause you to run into other groups at the end. Allow them to pass before proceeding if you're looking for more scares *plenty of neat vendors at the end of the haunt *don't forget to pick up your vip shirt/ gift at end *no bottles allowed inside *Purchase tickets online *promo: moonchild $2 off

So I need to start this review with the fact that this is not an extreme scare attraction-which I think is good because more people can attend, even children. I would suggest 12 years or older unless you have one that's immune to mild scares. It's very entertaining and well done and the cast was excellent while always staying professional-you could tell they had been well trained in appropriate behavior concerning touching patrons, etc. There are loud noises, strobe lights and it's very dark in some areas which is something to be mindful of for your group. Well done Junkee-rhat was a lot of fun!

Incredibly artistic experience, storyline, and production not to be missed!! The perfect amount of scary, with 2 huge haunted houses for the price of one.

The special effects were amazing! The actors were great and scary, especially the two girls! The DJ and entertainment were outstanding! Dustin, Gayle, Zack and Travis provided us such an amazing and personal experience! Would definitely recommend Dark Corner if you are a fan of haunted houses!

Creepy, scary, intense ride you'll never forget! We got a behind the scenes look at this place it is more immense than any haunted house I've ever witnessed, there's so many different characters to trip out on with so much crazy scenery and action all around you like something out of Hollywood! I highly recommend this place just make sure you strap on your seatbelt!

What's the parking situation/best place to park and the cost?

There's a garage attached to the bowling stadium, street parking on all surrounding streets and quite a few spots at the train station. I'm not sure the cost of the garage.

My wife and I have been wanting to try out Slaughter House ever since moving to the area but for…read moreone reason or the other, it just never worked out. Finally, this last Halloween, we were able to make it work. Slaughter House is held at Greater Nevada Field, which is where the Reno Ace's play. They offer the usual Haunted House experience and a Haunted Train attraction (more on that later). Considering if you purchased both attractions together (and getting access to the faster line) it would be cheaper, we decided to go that route. Afterwards, we wish we just went with the Haunted House. We waited in line for around 30 minutes before getting into the House and all in all, it was alright. Sure, it had moments that made me jump and even freaked me out a bit, but all told it just wasn't that great. There's one portion of the House where you're forced to walk through a ball pit that features a "scary" Clown to add to the discomfort. Normally, there would be nothing wrong with that. But, what is wrong with it is my wife has a very bad ankle and it could be rolled very easily. There was no warning at all about having to walk through a ball pit where rolling your ankle wouldn't be too difficult. So considering I was highly annoyed by this and focused on making sure my Wife didn't get hurt, it took any and all "scare" out of this portion. To his credit, the actor playing the Clown picked up on this and backed off. That was cool of him. As soon as it started, it ended. I felt like there was no grand finale or anything like that, you just suddenly left the maze and that was that. Pretty flat if you ask me. Oh, and the first thing they do upon entering the Haunted House is take your picture along side a creepy actor. It's your usual tourist trap type thing with them pitching you to purchase said picture at the end. Full transparency though, I bought it. Lol. It actually turned out to be a good photo of me and there aren't very many of those. Lol. Now here's the portion of the review where things really take a turn for the worst. The Haunted Train. It was probably the saddest thing I've ever experienced. The train carts are stupid small and cramped (it became apparent to me at this point that kids were the primary target audience for this), they played music by the band "Disturbed" (probably its only redeeming quality), and they attempted to scare you while you passed by Coke a Cola and Hot Dog vendor carts. Super scary. They didn't even TRY to cover these. I was able to spot the scare actors coming a mile away. It just flat out sucked, ok? The little kids on the ride weren't even scared. They either need to completely revamp this or scrap it all together. Seriously bad. Don't bother wasting your hard earned money on this. So the reason for the 2 stars is the fact that the Haunted House (the main attraction) was just ok and had a flat ending, the Train ride sucked, and the fact that a female Security Guard (at the main line entrance) could be heard by all of us in line talking a whole mess of sh*t about customers. Now, I used to work in Customer Service and I hated every minute of it, so I completely understand how stupid and rude the general public can be. However, you NEVER talk about customers RIGHT IN FRONT OF THEM. That's just asinine even to me. If you hate it, then do what I did. Go get a job where you don't have to deal with them. Problem solved. Also, all told, we spent north of $50 for the attractions and I'm sorry but for what you get, that's too much. It just wasn't worth the cost. So all told, there's a good chance that this was our first and final visit unless they make some big changes. We're more than likely going to opt to do something in Virginia City for Halloween this year. Then one upside to all this? Parking was free in the garage across the street. So there's that.

We were in the area and saw the big black widow spider and thought what a large Halloween store. But we were pleasantly mistaken - What used to be a bowling alley has now been repurposed into an absolute wonderland of an experience. It's a full blown kid friendly adult friendly haunted warehouse. My 4 year old son had an absolute blast, it starts of with a bit of trick or treating as your making your way through the adventure, then turns into a full on experience as each and every room has a theme from Jurassic park, aliens, robots, clowns, skeletons, a mirror room that I conveniently banged my head into, all the way to the super psychedelic tunnel. Which leads you to the Macabre mansion - for adults and children too. THEY ARE EXTREMELY ACCOMMODATING- asking how scary you'd like the experience to be. The staff were all friendly and kept up with keeping the animal pens clear of poop, especially for the petting ones. They had signage to designate which ones you could feed the animal food to and which ones you couldn't enter due to the animals resting. I really liked how they sectioned off all the animals off to the left side with its own entrance and exit and lots of sanitizing and handwashing stations nearby. They had some new things at the farm too. I saw signage advertising Cuddling with Calves for $20 (kids 8+). They also had some additional calves to see and pet along the way. So adorable! Outside of the animal area, they had a new section, Peacock Pedalers, that allowed kids and adults to ride tricycles around. They also had refreshment stations within the farm for drinks, kettlecorn, and other snacks, which made it convenient. What surprised me was that the features that were typically busy on our past visits, like the mini zip lines and the barrel ride, were very little to no waits. They offered lots of seating for taking a break and grabbing some food from the three food trucks they offered. The pulled pork nachos were yummy! It was a great deal to spend the day at the farm for $20 tickets. Yes, they offered lots of additions like the animal feed, train tickets, and gem sluicing for a price but not really necessary to have a great experience. Also, they have a snack bar with fresh popped popcorn $9 -$13 and huge pretzels $14. Chase Hasty and his wife have traveled around the world to over 25 countries sharing their magical talent and ballet dancing skills. My favorite part of the show was when Chase brought out a locked box and Hoisted the box with a rope up to the ceiling and told this guy to watch the box. Later in the show they opened the box, it was a pretty impressive trick!!! One not to be forgotten!! It's a small production but well thought out with couple extra dancers and costumes changes. I love that Chase, picks people out of the audience to help with the show. Maddox was a return kid that had been practicing his magic and Chase let him perform in front of the audience and what is that called "That's Magic!!!" It's nice the performers will met you afterwards in the hallway to have pictures and ask questions. It's a great family night or you can come to the later show at 9pm for a little more risky nocturnal show. I'll have to save that one for another time!
