The site was fun and scary. If you want to have a good time check it out I had a chance to meet the Promotor and owner of the attraction and Eli and Katie are two of my favorite people in the world, and if you get the opportunity to meet them you will agree. I like that they bring fun things to the community to do also there Christmas attraction that I hope they still do is great also. I can't wait to get back to the Reno area again to see them and injoy the Christmas season. read more

My wife and I have been wanting to try out Slaughter House ever since moving to the area but for one reason or the other, it just never worked out. Finally, this last Halloween, we were able to make it work. Slaughter House is held at Greater Nevada Field, which is where the Reno Ace's play. They offer the usual Haunted House experience and a Haunted Train attraction (more on that later). Considering if you purchased both attractions together (and getting access to the faster line) it would be cheaper, we decided to go that route. Afterwards, we wish we just went with the Haunted House. We waited in line for around 30 minutes before getting into the House and all in all, it was alright. Sure, it had moments that made me jump and even freaked me out a bit, but all told it just wasn't that great. There's one portion of the House where you're forced to walk through a ball pit that features a "scary" Clown to add to the discomfort. Normally, there would be nothing wrong with that. But, what is wrong with it is my wife has a very bad ankle and it could be rolled very easily. There was no warning at all about having to walk through a ball pit where rolling your ankle wouldn't be too difficult. So considering I was highly annoyed by this and focused on making sure my Wife didn't get hurt, it took any and all "scare" out of this portion. To his credit, the actor playing the Clown picked up on this and backed off. That was cool of him. As soon as it started, it ended. I felt like there was no grand finale or anything like that, you just suddenly left the maze and that was that. Pretty flat if you ask me. Oh, and the first thing they do upon entering the Haunted House is take your picture along side a creepy actor. It's your usual tourist trap type thing with them pitching you to purchase said picture at the end. Full transparency though, I bought it. Lol. It actually turned out to be a good photo of me and there aren't very many of those. Lol. Now here's the portion of the review where things really take a turn for the worst. The Haunted Train. It was probably the saddest thing I've ever experienced. The train carts are stupid small and cramped (it became apparent to me at this point that kids were the primary target audience for this), they played music by the band "Disturbed" (probably its only redeeming quality), and they attempted to scare you while you passed by Coke a Cola and Hot Dog vendor carts. Super scary. They didn't even TRY to cover these. I was able to spot the scare actors coming a mile away. It just flat out sucked, ok? The little kids on the ride weren't even scared. They either need to completely revamp this or scrap it all together. Seriously bad. Don't bother wasting your hard earned money on this. So the reason for the 2 stars is the fact that the Haunted House (the main attraction) was just ok and had a flat ending, the Train ride sucked, and the fact that a female Security Guard (at the main line entrance) could be heard by all of us in line talking a whole mess of sh*t about customers. Now, I used to work in Customer Service and I hated every minute of it, so I completely understand how stupid and rude the general public can be. However, you NEVER talk about customers RIGHT IN FRONT OF THEM. That's just asinine even to me. If you hate it, then do what I did. Go get a job where you don't have to deal with them. Problem solved. Also, all told, we spent north of $50 for the attractions and I'm sorry but for what you get, that's too much. It just wasn't worth the cost. So all told, there's a good chance that this was our first and final visit unless they make some big changes. We're more than likely going to opt to do something in Virginia City for Halloween this year. Then one upside to all this? Parking was free in the garage across the street. Slaughter House - Getting ready to head inside! - Haunted Houses Near Me - Reno, Nevada

I give Slaughter House three stars because of the scare level. I went to Slaughter House last night and it was okay. I have never been to a haunted house before so I had no idea what to expect. I googled Youtube videos on it and it seemed pretty laidback with some jump scares in the video. It was the same thing in person. There wasn't a lot of people who would jump out or scare you, it was more walking through a dark maze with a couple scares here and there. I got more scared of the animatronics and the fog machine noises than I did of the actors. However, this haunted house is a good foundation to start with if you are someone who is scared of haunted houses but wants to spice up your month of October. Due to the fact of Slaughter House not being too scary, I now have the courage to go out and try scary ones. I do not think this haunted house is worth $17. Being in Reno doesn't really give you a lot of options for haunted houses though. If you really want to go to one and you are bored with your friends, family, or even significant other than check it out; just be aware that this was probably only worth $10. The staff was pretty friendly, except one staff member who was in charge of the elevator rides yelled at us pretty heavily because my friends wanted to back out last minute-- if you are going to work at a haunted house, expect people to get scared and consider backing out. So just to conclude, not worth $18 but it is a great stepping stone if you are trying to ease yourself into going into more haunted houses/ checking them out. read more

Great and safe Halloween fun! The Slaughter House is located at the Greater Nevada Stadium in Downtown Reno. The atmosphere is spooky and a little scary, but it is all in good fun! The staff was super professional. Or you could say the clowns, goblins, and other creatures of the night were all very entertaining. If you have little kids or people who want a less scary time you can request a glow stick and when you are inside it's a little less intense. I really hope I can save someone lots of time and money. This place is a joke. The wait is insane. I understand waiting if it's going to blow my socks off, but this attraction was extremely lame. We waited at least 1.5 hours in the cold and it wasn't fun or scary at all. Such a bummer. Also- don't even bother with the "scary train" or whatever. Your better off going to a free haunted house where people put their time and effort into it because they want to. Specifically, the one at Reno Forklift on Coney Island. Didn't think it was worth the $17/24 price! The scary corn maze in Sparks is more scary and at way less than half the price. The slaughter house has a bunch of "jump scares" and people screaming/following you. They tell you that the actors won't touch you and you can't touch them, but a couple of the actors touched me and my friends on the shoulder/arms and got way too close that their chest was on me. There's a mini maze at the end that winds you around a small building. Advertised to be ~20 minutes long but I'd say it was around 10 minutes long. Advertised an "It" section with a ball pit that is potentially hazardous. The terror train is too long of a wait. There were multiple people leaving the line who said they waited 2 hours. Overall, there are scarier mazes if you want the scare factor. Low effort with high prices on this one. read more

It was so much fun. They really put it together well. I had the VIP passes. With the VIP passes you don't have to stand in the regular line and it comes with dinner. The VIP line was about the same time wait as the regular line. For the dinner it was pork sausage or pulled pork sandwiches. The food was good however it would be nice if there was a vegetarian option. read more

Disappointing. My son and I attended a couple years ago and it was ok, just ok. Attended last night since they advertised having changed things up. It was still disappointing. Parking was great and free. Tickets can be bought online but we did it in person because I wanted to see how long the lines were. If the lines were long we were going to get a speed pass. They were not. DON'T WASTE MONEY ON SPEED PASS! The layout was nice but my main complaint was the lack of actual workers in costume and role players. They were understaffed and many of t staff they had seemed over it. At the end the general consensus from the people in front of and behind us was, "that is it? How much did we pay? This sucks." We also bought a ticket for the laser tag train ride. Let me do everyone a favor, pass on this. While there is lots of potential you will be greatly disappointed. Overall, don't recommend but if you still decide to go just do the normal general admission and no add ons. read more

This was, without competition, the worst haunted house I have ever been to. We have just moved here from the Midwest, so my comparison to other haunted houses is based off of those. And I understand that there are not a lot of options for haunted houses in the area. That being said, this was still a disappointment to say the least. First of all, we arrived to purchase our tickets. Online it states that the event was open form 7pm to 11pm. But when we got to the ticket counter, a sign said that this particular Saturday (the 26th) did not open until 9pm. We entered the line around 8:15pm and were told things would open up around 8:30pm or 9:00pm, so this wasn't too frustrating up front. Luckily we had planned on leaving right at 7pm, but were running late, otherwise this would have been annoying to find out. I checked back on their website, and it says absolutely nothing about this particular date opening at a later time. Now there were 2 lines - one for general admission, and one for the vip fast passes. Thankfully we came when we did because the general admission line grew farther than my eye could see back to the street. The line(s) did indeed start moving right before 9pm, so that was good. However, this line leads up the stairs into the stadium and heads over to yet another line that finally leads into the actual "haunted house". Ok, so here is where I start to really be upset. Now, every haunted house to which I have every been has had a "fast pass" option. So I am fully aware and understanding of how that works. But NEVER have I been to a place where the general admission and fast pass lanes lead into ONE entrance. As we got closer to the entrance, there is a man acting like a nightclub bouncer, who lets in groups from each line. He would let around 4 groups from the fast pass in, and then 1 group from the general admission. And by group, I mean whoever you came there with. Sometimes this meant just 2 people. So there were times where we would watch 4 groups of 4 go from the fast pass lane, and 1 group of 2 go from the general admission lane. This was painstaking to watch, and just pretty much shamed us in our decision to not buy fast passes. So by the time I could actually see the entrance, it was about 10pm. And then, a light goes out at the entrance, completely stopping everything. Now I am fully understanding of technical difficulties, but as people scrambled to try and fix the situation not ONE worker did anything to let the crowd know what was going on and to thank them for their patience. Again, frustrating and not acceptable. Then, FINALLY, at around 10:15pm we reached the entrance. This is when we find out why they let you in with only the group you came in - they take a photo of you in the entrance to try and sell to you later. Now, I can appreciate getting a photo with just your group, but when there is a crowd this large waiting to get in, it is absolutely inefficient. Of course, all of this waiting and freezing our butts off could have been alleviated if we were walking into an amazing haunted house. And with the size of the venue (a baseball stadium), we expected a large production. Well, that's not what we got. Instead, we got to go to an elevator and ride down to YET ANOTHER LINE. After that, FINALLY we can walk through the various parts uninterrupted. I will give props for the physical construction of the sets. But as far as the actors go, there was not one person who was trying to actually be scary. I mean, if you get scared by people staring at you and kind of popping out of places, then this is the haunted house for you. It was completely understaffed for the size of the venue. To make matters worse, the path through is not continuous. But rather, it is in sections. And you are guided to these sections by security guards/employees sitting on their cell phones and explaining where to go in monotoned boredom. Why would they not have characters who lead you from place to place and attempt for further scares? This just takes you out of the setting and makes you very aware that you are just in a baseball stadium, not a haunted house. We were through everything by about 10:40pm. No grand finale or clear ending. Just a girl saying "Follow the lights up those stairs", and you're back where you started. We couldn't run to our car and drive off fast enough. Sorry, but this is not even remotely worth the $17 admission, and certainly not worth more for the fast pass. I would not go back there next year if they decided to make it free. While we were in line, a teenage girl came back out of the entrance crying. The only thing I can figure out is that she was sad that she lost $17 on this disappointment. read more

Although the content of the haunted house was great, we walked out saying, "it's already over?". We paid $22 per person for the express pass ticket, & we waited only a few minutes until we were in the haunted house, so that was a great perk. However, the entire haunted house experience lasted MAYBE 10 minutes, and it seemed like everything was in blocks, it didn't feel very fluid. Slaughterhouse ultimately did its' job (my throat hurts from screaming & we definitely enjoyed ourselves), but we left feeling disappointed with how short of an experience it was. Such a disappointment. I hate giving bad reviews but our experience was less than enjoyable. The haunted house it's self was fun and the actors did a good job. We bought the Ultimate experience that came with a speed pass. There was no organization to any of the lines. We asked one of the employees what line we should be in and they put us in the wrong line, came back a few minutes later and moved us to another line. There was nothing relating to speed pass with our wait time of 2 hours. For the price we paid it was not worth it at all. I hope that with some organization, maybe signs for which line is which and maybe even some ropes keeping the lines from blending together. Another suggestion would be some entertainment while customers are waiting in those long lines. Screens playing clips of scary movies, actors interacting with people. It was my first time going to the laughter house, and I was disappointed. For a family of 5 it was $50 which isn't bad except it was just a train ride that lasted 5 minutes and stopped 5 times for candy, and the adults didn't get candy. Then it was $10 to take a picture with a skeleton horse and for them to email it to you. They did have a inflatable maze and bounce house that the kids like, but I think that was free since they didn't ask to see the tickets. read more

Terrible and disorganized. Bought the VIP package to avoid the huge lines. Waited in line..and waited..turned out they directed us into the general admission line. Caught a worker as he walked by and he told me I was in the wrong line (Along with a bunch of other people). So then they pull us from that line to the END of the VIP line. So much for the front of the line portion pass I paid for... The effects inside were pretty mediocre. I went three years ago and it was a little better, but it seems like for the money they charge and the crowds they get, it could be MUCH MUCH better. It was all about pushing people through as quick as you could. No interactive scenes, just cheap gags jumping out at you, and people screaming in your face. No real sense of horror seeing scenes that disturb you. Gyros House of Terror is much better at this sort of imagery (California) They had a train that drives you around the stadium, this was part of our VIP package as well. By the time we got to that line it was so huge that we gave up. Didn't want to wait another hour. Went to ticket window on the way out to ask for a refund on the train part, and they refused. Expect long waits unless you buy the VIP package (and even then we waited forever because o their mistakes). UPDATE: 2 weeks later, after writing them on both facebooks and email, no response. They just don't care. They should shut this place down. read more

This review consists of 2 separate visits. The first - a 1* review. The second, redeemed itself - but overall - this attraction is WAY overpriced and was not at ALL worth the money and time spent. Drive to SixFlags for just a few bucks more. Or support other haunted attractions. I will never support Slaughter House again. Visit 1 - It's so unfortunate that Reno's haunted house options SUCK. We paid $90 to attend the Slaughter House haunted house and their "Terror Train"... NINETY DOLLARS for a night of entertainment with my family. NINETY DOLLARS that we decided was worth a fun, freaky adventure! What we got...for $90... We stood in line for the haunted house for 20 minutes. Then we were moved to the train line, which we waited for over 90 minutes and only made it HALF WAY to the train. OH I forgot to mention.... that $90 included the "speed pass" that is supposed to prevent the long lines. This seemed like a good option since one of us recently had knee surgery. Turns out they sold so many speed passes, there was no general admission line to be seen. After standing in line for 90 min for the train, we finally got to see the train...... the train only held about 12 average sized adults. It was similar to the photo attached. And people were telling us that this ride we still had another hour to wait for.... was only a 5 min train ride......... so people are waiting 2-3 hours to ride a child train for a few minutes where they sell hotdogs at baseball games. Those of you that know me know that I will tolerate a lot....and even cut some slack for the Saturday night before Halloween. But we spent nearly $100 to entertain our family tonight. We were sooooo excited for days leading up to it. In the end, I talked to 4 representatives from the security team that had NO clue who I could complain to. Ultimately after 2 1/2 hours, we got our tickets reissued for Monday. There is NO WAY that this local attraction is worth what people spent 4+ hours for and $30 for! For a 5 minute train ride and 10 minute haunted house walk through! We could have driven to Six Flags and spent all day there for just a few bucks more. It's convenient that you can't leave reviews on their page and comments get deleted. Slaughter House - Take 2... After Saturday night, we were not sure what to expect tonight. We got off on kind of a rough start with tweenage drama, but arrived 20 minutes before they opened to hopefully avoid lines. We had a pep talk with ourselves..... fresh slate! Let's get our money worth and have some fun! Also, despite being offered to be taken to the front of the lines and not having to wait, we decided that we had arrived early enough on a Monday night (not much of a line).. we didn't need to be pushed ahead of others that also paid. Overall, we had a fantastic evening! A few key differences from Saturday... Characters EVERYWHERE! Loved the engagement with the audience while in line. This would have helped ease the angry mobs. Shorter lines of course. Much more positive crowd I was also very impressed with how they handled when my kiddo got physically ill from the strobe lights as soon as we entered the haunted house. The folks behind the scenes were very helpful in getting us out of the lights and giving her a safe comfortable place to chill for a bit. In the end, it was not worth $30. I was impressed with the characters' performances. The house was mostly long black hallways and strobe lights, then the occasional theme rooms - not impressed. The train was just an extension of the other haunted attractions. It was a fun ride and great characters...... next to the ATMs, draft beer signs and the bathrooms. The train is intended for children and not something I would recommend to anyone except children.... We had an amazing night. I'm glad we went back today. It was a much better experience. Next year, we will support other houses. Lesson learned. read more

Guys running it were rude, split our group of FOUR up because he let a group of 2 in... um, ok. For the amount of money I paid I should have been able to go through it with my family. The zombie section... yeah, empty. One character and he was outside of it. Really? Totally let down, waist of money and you can be sure I won't be back. 10x better haunt down the street off 7th @ Kingdom of horrors-- actual effort put into it! My wife and I visited last Friday...not sure if It was an off night but there was nobody there!! Literally no one in line at 9pm...unfortunately we had purchased a "front of the line" special on living social so there was no turning back for us at this point. Luckily 3 people showed up right as we being lead downstairs to the "haunted" house. I've been to a few haunted houses over the years both here in Reno and Dallas and this one was by far the worst one I've ever been to. We saw just a handful of cast members and many places throughout the house were light up...def not scary. Like I said...I'm not sure if this is a typical experience or we caught them at a bad time. I tried leaving a post on their Facebook wall and they just deleted it so I left another one which was also deleted. One thing is for sure...their customer service is frightful...we won't be back. Great setup and plenty of scares. Had my lady literally curling up into a ball in corners out of fear, though she was a bit sauced, that said I had fun as well. The last few dudes and chainsaw joker may have scarred her for life tho. Staff was also excellent, as one of the times the lady freaked out she dropped her wallet in the house and they found it for her pretty damn quick. To say that my experience at Slaughter House was disappointing is an understatement. I've wanted to go to this event for years, and was excited to finally go this year with a group a friends, as I've heard many good things about it. We purposely chose a night we knew would be busy, as we figured we'd get the full experience with more staff there on a Saturday night, so we did not mind the wait that was still over an hour even with our "Speed" passes. When we were waiting in line, two staff members were yelling and arguing in front of everyone there about how quickly they were pushing people through the haunted house. A staff member then complained to us that she had to be there until 2 am with no pay and proceeded to tell us how badly she wanted to leave, which is understandable, but made everyone standing in line feel very uncomfortable being there. When we got to the front of the line, the woman allowing people inside of the haunted house was awfully rude and I'm not being dramatic when I say she was screaming at the top of her lungs at people who were unsure what door to walk through or where they were standing before entering. We counted only 6 actors inside the actual haunted house, not one being scary or creepy, but just yelling in your face. When we were finished walking through the whole haunted house we looked back and were left extremely unsatisfied. It was rushed, unorganized and definitely not scary, entertaining or fun. The staff was super unprofessional, and the event did not seem well thought out at all. It was not worth the $24/person charge. Will not go back next year after such a displeasing experience. read more

This review is for the new laughter house, not slaughter house. Honestly, slaughter house sounds cool. Laughter house, not so much. We waited in line for an hour for a 10 minute train ride. The advertisement says kids will see all their favorite characters. I was thinking mickey, paw patrol, things of that nature. It was teenagers dressed like whatever they want. A doctor that looked half dead, a dinosaur that threw candy, and little red riding hood (just a few ex). Was not super exciting. My daughter was more confused then anything. read more

Well don't buy the VIP, because when we went soon after it opened on Sunday night there was nobody there. People were arriving after 6pm but just straggling in. It was mostly just screaming. Most of the actors were just high school kids and you could not see any scary costumes. Expected to see an operating room with guts and live actors, but nothing. Even the tunnel at the end that spins to make you dizzy was not running... and the Zombie area was a big bust, you come outside to a grassy area, concrete walls on two sides, with a tent and oil drums cool set, so now all you needed were some Zombies... just one lone Zombie trying to scare a couple of groups of people.. we all should have picked him up and carried him out and bought him a beer. Very sad. So for $24 for VIP (not to wait in line, what line?) plus online handling... what a rip! And RIP is what I mean, this event can 'Rest In Peace'. Really want to support Reno events, but this venue needed a much more mature and creative Producer. read more

The son and I visited the Slaughter House and the Kingdom of Horrors in the same evening. I have to say the Kingdom of Horrors is much better. It felt like the Slaughter House was only trying to get people through as fast as possible this year. The set-up and scares were much better last year. So if you want to get a little scared, head to the Slaughter House. But right after that, be sure to go to the Kingdom of Horrors to get your real scare on. read more
